Just wanted to say that I was able to access all of Leslie's Aruba news links earlier this morning, but now seeing the same things y'all are.

Thanks msmarple - interresting that they just went down.

There were a couple of things that looked like candidates for the M&C thread, but I don't remember any details about those or anything else.

Surely it's just a technical glitch???

Thanks, I'm getting into it now too.

Noticed that www.diarioaruba.com redirects to aruhost.com/suspended  If you go to View/Source on the suspended msg page, you can see the code for the 'suspended' message.  Just not sure why we're going there.

Hey, checked Verisign Whois for the domain for diarioaruba, earlier and it came up for Melbourne Ltd, or something similar.  Now, when I try, nothing is coming up for the domain.  I also checked 'aruhost' and it came up earlier and now it also is no longer coming up.  I think I'd be better off having lunch.   Laughing

Correct - now Bondia and ArubaToday appear to be opening. Diario is the only one currently down.

Not sure.  I'm still unable to open ArubaToday current issue, only the archives.  Bondia is opening.  Diario still says account suspended.

Thanks on behalf of the kids and families.

MeMere,
I think so.  It is spitting snow and the roads were icey this morning.  Bitterly cold with wind.  What our weathermen call bone-chilling cold and folks in really cold places laugh at us about.  But we go just a little crazy when it is this cold with any trace of snow or ice.

And you know how we drive on ice and snow so I do have to wonder.  Not sure how to flip a school bus like that but they are still rescue stage.  Have asked for all resuce units and ambulances from entire region to get there ASAP, etc.

Parents to go to Huntsville Hospital Cafeteria to get information.

Anna, the students and their families are in my prayers. What a tragedy!
Being a transplant from the Chicago area to southeast Louisiana, I know what you are saying about the bone chilling cold and all. They tell me that my blood has thinned after living here for 20 years, and weather that use to not seem so now seems freezing to me!
My friends and family are always amazed at the slightest freeze or spitting snow that causes road closures down here. They just dont realize that southerners are not accustomed to driving under such conditions. Not to mention the fact that up north they have the equipment to keep the road conditions much safer than we do down here.

The links y'all are posting may be the same, but I just watched a video on CNN. (Just letting you know that it's out there.)

Interesting that the bus apparently landed right side up. That might help.

Amen, girlfriend.
I think everyone runs to the store when it's frosty for milk, eggs and bread.  I never understood that. How much French Toast can a person eat?
