I think understanding Guido's role is key here. He was interviewed on 6/3 and gave notice he was leaving the island on 6/7. He was later arrested under suspision of "aggravated heavy battery". He is Joran's friend, casino employee and very well connected. He was given the best attorney in Holland to defend himself. Both Guido and Croes can be placed in the beach-hotel area that evening (as can Joran). If a private aircraft was used, it would likely require someone important with strong connections, either government or underworld. IMO

Sure he could be lying, and it does seem to be a "relief valve" for J2K and island tourism. I'm not completely buying it.

Spock, i agree that Guido is key. Being the only friend of Joran that was interviewed before 6/9, i think it is entirely possible his questioning was unrelated to Joran, and more based on the scratch witnesses.

Then Joran deceptively leaves any reference to Guido out of his extensive retelling of Monday night (6/14 PV), even though he spent practically all night with him.

When GVC was arrested, Joran's peeps ALL said that he did not know him. In fact, apparently Joran didn't know ANYONE on the island!!!  Rolling Eyes  Shocked

This is all from the *Two Arrests* chapter. Joran goes on and on and on about GVC and then devotes only a single paragraph to Guido's arrest. Then says it is all good because it shows ALE is looking in other directions! Like Guido is another direction... Question
