Took Furby to the vet to have her bloodwork checked for her meds and to have her routinne shots and tags done. The vet does not want me to smoke around her so no smoking in the house or vehicles. I have smoked for 50 years and currently smoke 3 pks a day. Guess I have to stop cold turkey. The last time I quit I lost so much weight that I started back up again. Anyone have suggestions for me. HELP !!

Oh wow!

I quit back in the 80's and not smoking around my son and dog was most of my inspiration.

But alas, I only quit for 4 months.

I wish I had suggestions for you.

It can't be good for our pets to breathe our second-hand smoke. And that is just what Brandi does also.

never met you before Donks, ive been unexcused absence for a bit, so a late welcome..

a lil unconventional, but i got my tongue pierced and the speech they gave me about what the stuff in ciggys does to ur tongue and viens freaked me out and i have not smoked since the cig i had 2 mins for i got my tongue done!

I took Josef outside and saw a lady walking two dogs. I turned Josef away from where they were walking and one of them got off the nose harness. It started after us and the dog attacked Joe. Finally she got it and started to hit it.  I had Josef by the leash off the ground so he didn't do anything to the dog. Once she had her dog controlled, I looked at him and he was bitten on the nose, the belly and the eye. I have been at the vet tonight and when I asked the lady "does your dog have shot records, she turned around and said, he only bit him in the butt, but I do have them upstairs". WTFE.... I have never seen her or her dogs, so they must be new here. Even my nosy neighbor hasn't seen the dogs or her. This dog was mean as heck. Poor Josef has been sedated, like in a coma. I wanted to let you guys know why I haven't been in the cage tonight. Thank God I have CC to help me through this because I am losing my mind. I will post pictures of the baby tomorrow. Animal control can't do anything until I know the owner. I don't care about the vet bill, I care about her POS attitude and don't want it to happen to another dog.

Have a good evening monkeys, I am tired, had to drive at night with my sunglasses on because I forgot my real glasses getting poor Joe in the car.

So very sorry JSM!! how horrible. this summer while camping we walked to another loop and a off the leash pit bull charged nutty good thing i was quick! swooped her up and stuck my foot straight out, thought i was gonna lose a leg...no one bit, no beer spilled, and the stupid a$$ owner laughed....grrr

nutty and i send kisses and warm wishes, you need a break, from life!

almost shoulda done an accident type of info exchange, atleast name # and vet name...but i woulda been way too worried about my baby to think of all that! as im sure you were

Picture of Josef last night at the vet. Talked to the apartments and the lady was very helpful. She is going through the new move in records to see who has dogs and also have maintenance look to see if they see the lady as well. She is really pizzed at the attitude of the lady and once she finds her send her a violation.

When you move into a rental complex with a pet do you not have to have proof of shots and licence ?

-4 C last night and only 3C right now.  Had some chunky rain yesterday as well, more expected today.  Seems like we have gone straight from summer into winter. 

Have to decide what to bake today.  Apparently a 9 x 13 carrot cake lasts under 12 hours and was not enough.  I also think my fridge is leaking milk as there is none this morning and I had 2-4ltr jugs at dinner time last night

I wish I could give you more measurements but you have to listen to the apples.  I usually make a two shell crust BUT roll the whole dough into one huge circle, put it into the pie plate, load it up with apples till it is heaping and then fold the edges over to cover the top and join on top rather than the sides so you have a all in one crust.  You can get way more apples in there that way.   Hope that makes sense.

I hope you can find the lady and get her name to animal control.  Poor Josef.  When Ryley climbed the chain link fence where we had him boarded once to go play with the horses, one of the horses kicked him in the face and his nose got split almost in the same place.  It took a while to heal as he kept breaking it open.  I hope Josef heals fast.

that is a great idea about rolling out the crust bigger and folding it over the top rather than making 2 separate crusts! I will try that way...sounds great...think I am gonna do this today...
carrot cake wouldn't last around here long either...lol...
