I noticed in the first translation the two sons were staying with friends in America and second transaction it just says they are staying with friends.

I wonder if the Gottenbos family has company.

Dayhiker, that is what I thought too when I read that. Paulus would"ve  jumped at the chance to be a judge, but he didnt get that chance.

Let's look at this more closely...if PVDS was out and about at 4 AM in the morning, yet he got home in time to wake the boys, that leaves him with approximately one hour and 45 minutes.  What can you do with that much time and daylight quickly creeping upon you?  What time did the sun rise that day?  When was first light on Aruba and who is out and about at that time too?

Has anyone ever pondered how it is that this family lives in insular, isolated, tiny Aruba and has what seems to be very modest means,

YET...

they stay in fancy hotels in new york and have "friends" all over America?

By what means do they get to know these American "friends" to the extent that they feel OK to send their kids to live there?

There is SO MUCH about that family that just screams out for explanation.

While I'm thinking that Paulus saying he picked Joran and Natalee up and went to the HI was a lie, later switched to J2K taking Natalee to the HI, I also remember that one of Natalee's friends stumbled through an interview and the VDS Cult followers made a big deal of it.  Natalee's friend said something about seeing her back at the HI.  When asked about it again, her response was "Let's just say I saw her there."  Don't know if it means anything, but in light of new info, thought you might want to consider it.
