Good late night. I'm wandering from thread to thread, lonely. Most of you are tucked and comfy into their beds.

What would cause Joran(and the 2K's) to be considered sacrifical when they were apparently guilty of drugging targeting kidnapping Natalee from CnC's. IMO, one thing that would call for a sacrifice would be if she were targeted for someone "higher-up" , beyond the reach of the law maybe? Someone to blame to appease the Holloway-Twitty's? ......because maybe Natalee was procured for someone?

Then there is the very obvious, which is croupier Guido. Who, at the time Shango posted was all but a complete mystery. Eventually his name Wever became known....but for awhile he was said to be "Lorenzo Wever". AG and others here insisted there was no one below the age of 55 named Lorenzo Wever.......and infact that turned out to be true, his name was later revealed to be Guido Wever..........a dice thrower.

The band reference above turned out not to check out. They are from the Netherlands, but I think found not to be on the venue for SoulBeach.

Yes I recall about the Diceman and it was said they were indeed in Aruba at that time. But when I looked it up on their schedule during that time it does not show them listed at that time for any performance. That does not mean they were not in Aruba at that time.

Roman Abramovich was also in Aruba during that time, or so it is said. Either his yahtz Ecstasea or his Eurocopter P4-XTC, or both. The Eurocopter is owned by a few people aboard his yahtz. So it could of been anyone of them who came onto the island in the Eurocopter at that time. I had spoke to someone out of Mississippi and learned, at that time, Mississippi was the only place Eurocopters were built.

Eurocopters are actually built for military fighting missions but the rich I guess are prevy to those type of aircraft since they have so much money. No sanctions on the aircraft when money talks. Personally I don't like that idea. Because if a Russian can come into the USA and purchase one of the Eurocopters, the same kind that are used for military fighter copters, that only leads me to believe or think of one thing and it's not a good thought. The USA are selling military Eurocopters to the Russians or anyone else that has the bucks.

I remember the schedule being posted, I thought you had posted it. I guess they are one possibility. They look kinda young, but i then took the thought one step further and wondered if they may have been any part/m,embers of the band on the boat the night Amy Bradley went missing. But that band was the Blue orchid, and the band member was named Yellow. I thought that in 1998, maybe one band member might have been a part of Blue Orchid?

Joran is a predator serial rapist and a murderer. He will strike again. Serial killers start with dogs and then move on to humans. I think he's progressed to that now. Only time will tell before he makes his next move. It could be years before now but he will again, eventually.

Yes imo i think so also. way back in june-05 here we discussed i think it was deepak telling joran that he had natalee for himself first and that got him in trouble. went something along the lines of  "the girl was a virgin and that shit got you in trouble". Sorry I had saved the quote on my first motherboard that got fried , I can no longer find the reference.  Someone said earlier that arubans are responcible for us forgetting stuff the longer this case goes on and I believe that to be true.  We have to revisit the first posts there are many truths there.  Also isnt this pvds m.o. keeps his cases going untill everyone forgets the first real occurances.

The Dicemen are a punk band. I went in that direction also and discounted it because of their ages ( young ) the type of music they do ( yuck to me ) and also because cruise ships do not have punk bands playing on them. Steve Croes parents are musicians from Curacao and that would seem to be a more likely choice for a connection...
On a computer security topic, we all had to go from work to a big security workshop all day on Friday. Emails came up. Ever get one of those " chain letter " emails ? We get them all the time. These emails collect names and email addresses. What to do if you get one ? Delete it, and even delete it from your recycle bin. If they have some really cute pic in them and you just have to share them, when you send it to just ONE person, strip out all the other ppl's names. They did not get into details of the mechanics of how this all works, but we will be having more workshops on these topics at work and some of it is applicable to home emails.

For everyone that called me to the forum late last night...I heard you.  Had trouble with my DSL and was trying to work it out.  Just got it back and I have no idea what happened.  I did however uninstall AIM.  I will see if that was the problem.  Totally shut down my computer and would not even let me restore.  I was lost wandering in the wilderness with no help....but I feel better now.

Hi Lala's  - you don't happen to have cox.net do you?  I do and for the last 4 days cox.net has been having alot of troubles.  I'm OK today though.

Nope.  I have tds.net and it just went poof last night.  I had downloaded AIM to chat with some friends and after that I began having trouble for some reason.  I have Yahoo! IM and have never had that kind of problem.  It may have been both. I despise dial up since it's so slow.  Also, my daughter was home and surfing myspace so who knows what I have lingering in my computer now.

Prior to adding more RAM to my PC, AIM was causing me problems too.  Would often hang things up.  With the added RAM I have no problems.  Could be you need more RAM too?

She's doing great! I believe that the Tuesday before Christmas was 12/19? Anyhoo, she has gone from emergency surgery and critical condition on that Tuesday to where she is now on January 28th. Tonight, she will be spending her first night alone since all of this happened. She is getting around very well. Thursday of this coming week, she is going to Bingo in her apartment building. That is an excellent sign of recovery. She had always been very active in the social activities there, and it will be good to see her spending time with friends again. I imagine she is likely rather sick of all of us being there 24/7 (taking turns, not all at once), and would like to be with all those old ladies she hangs with.  :wink:

As an aside, I never truly understood how profound the song Amazing Grace was until I read a book called In The Grip of Grace by Max Lucado.  I have always loved that song and it was the first song my daughter learned to sing in church so it has special meaning just because of that, but to think how simple the word is and how magnificent it's meaning...just blows my mind.

Me too but I really doubt it.  My guess would be he died from cardiac arrest.  With everything in this case though it would be nice to hear the cause.

GRACE: I want to go to Captain Roger Winkler with Salt Lake City Police Department. Sir, you were part of the search for Lori Hacking. Everyone, you will recall Lori Hacking was murdered by her husband, Mark Hacking, and finally, after weeks of searching, this American beauty`s remains were found in a dump, a landfill. Tell us about that search and how difficult it is, Captain.

CAPT. ROGER WINKLER, SALT LAKE CITY POLICE: Well, it`s extremely physical -- physically demanding. It takes just a lot of hard work to get through this debris. Our primary search was to do a visual search of all debris, looking for any evidence that we could find on this case. Involved the use of large pieces of heavy equipment. We initially were looking at moving approximately 4,500 tons of debris. It wound up being closer to approximately 10,000 tons of debris, going through this by hand with rakes under difficult conditions. We had weather. We had insects. We had the physically demanding conditions, as well as the smell associated with the landfill.

And going through that debris, doing a physical and visual search of all debris to identify evidence and then preserve that for court, is very demanding.

GRACE: Captain, remember when it became so hot that the dogs had to be taken in, the cadaver dogs, because they couldn`t keep working in the heat?

WINKLER: Yes, ma`am. We actually had to change our whole operation to a -- basically, a graveyard operation, where we were working a late- night shift. So we would start at dark and finish up before daylight just because the dogs were overheating so badly.

GRACE: Back to Jossy Mansur. Who is searching the landfill? Are any FBI there, or is it just the Aruban authorities?

MANSUR: I believe it`s the Equusearch team from Texas and also accompanied by a few individuals, private, our reporters, and the search- and-rescue party from Aruba. There`s a whole bunch of people that have been searching all day long.

GRACE: Are there any dogs involved?

MANSUR: Well, I see stray dogs walking all over the place, but I don`t think I have...

GRACE: That`s not what I had in mind! That`s not exactly what I had in mind. I meant bloodhounds, scent dogs or cadaver dogs.

I love Amazing Grace too and I have often heard my father play it on the bagpipes.  Yes we were Scottish.   Geordies come from the border between England and Scotland but are not Sassenachs.
Honey is a great healer for burns, wounds and ulcers.  The very best one is Manuka honey from New Zealand.  I have a very bad allergy to pollen so can't use or eat honey.  A cask of red will keep you purring for a long time.

....we stopped to see one of the small churches....white with two doors and an old cemetery on the side....

we went into the church which was empty except for pews and a piano/organ on the left side.....we sat in the quietness of the chapel talking about how beautiful the area is.....

a lady came in and went directly up to the piano.....she began to play and sing Amazing Grace....then a man (her husband) stood next to her and joined in with a booming voice....

when they were finished, they left and went to walk through the cemetery....my sister and I felt as though we had been part of something special....I will always be glad that we stopped and witnessed this....

if you ever have the opportunity to visit Cades Cove....I think you would enjoy this part of the Smokies....

I agree, Cat, that Joran is the perp.  He, the Kalpoes, Paulus are the reason Natalee is not in Alabama now.  But the coverup and finding the way through the maze, finding the evidence, figuring out what happened is where everything else comes in.  Who helped Joran, who destroyed evidence?  Like a search online, sometimes you have to look at lots of irrelevant things before you find what you want.  The key is to know when it's irrelevant and move on.

In the shopped pic the monkey house is missing, and that neighbors house. Also the neighbor on the right side's house......with the small blue kiddie pool in the front yard is missing. SLEUTH: All I know is we took the photo after leaving the "rave ranch."  
It was the closest house....The photo is not photoshopped. I have pointed out before the side of the house make look strange because of the hurricane shutters.

FWIW: What is interesting is...As we passed this unknown house, at the time ...I saw a light blue shirt in the road.  It was an athletic shirt, XXL with a #9 on the back & the name Nistelooy on the back. It had been out in the road for some time.
Now I know that Joran used to wear a chain with a #9 and his favorite soccer team is Nistelooy's Barcelona Soccer Team.

I have always thought that switching places means one person or persons replaces another.  I had never thought of it being places.  To me places do not switch as they are stationary.  They could have switched cars but that would not be places it would be switching vehicles.  Confusion reigns.

Aruba is out of the hurricane belt.  It is not normal to have hurricane shutters there, but I wouldn't say that the super-cautious wouldn't have them.  It is more likely to have shutters against the sun.

Sleuth  Why would you need to apologise ?  We had a lot of fun discussing the house and ended up deciding it was an Ikea house.  It was not a house owned by anyone here and as it had so many parts that appeared to be added on we said it looked like a house where someone had photoshopped the picture.  Then to prove a point we showed the photoshopping efforts with the vdS compound.
Now if I say something about a person on this board like "xxxx - I think you are a dill"  I would expect to have to apologise when Klaas or Lala's caught up with me but if I comment on a picture or item it is certainly not meant to be personal and should not be taken that way.  If that is the case we would all be apologising every page.

JONESBORO -- The mother of a missing 18-year old girl said Sunday afternoon that the disappearance has helped motivate her to talk about issues involving safety and visiting foreign countries.

Beth Holloway Twitty -- whose daughter, Natalee Holloway, disappeared in May 2005 in Aruba and whose disappearance sparked international news coverage -- addressed nearly 400 people in Riceland Hall at the Arkansas State University Fowler Center.

Before her remarks, Twitty said her message was simple: Be mindful of everything.

"My message should be a heads-up for kids," Twitty said. "Investigate the infrastructure, customs and laws of a country before going there. We sometimes think about worrying about the hotel or airfare, but there is a bigger picture."

Twitty, who received her master's degree in speech pathology from ASU, said her ordeal caused her to found an organization, called the International Safe Travels Organization, to help teen-agers and their parents investigate all issues before traveling abroad.

Twitty recalled the first days after her daughter's disappearance and the actions of the Aruban government.

"We did everything we could in looking for her. There was a government coverup, and it has been documented," Twitty contended. "Yet we have remained respectful and have done the right thing."

The disappearance of her daughter received intense medi attention. Twitty said the media can help -- and has helped by detailing the stories of missing children, including two recently recovered in Missouri.

"[The media] can be a huge tool for parents," she said. "They can get the photo and information out there for people to see. It is speedy and has been incredible, with print and television. They have helped to solve many cases, and parents should always consider using them as a tool."

At the event, which was held to support the 2007 Northeast District Council of Youth Ministries of the United Methodist Church Scholarship, Twitty also discussed how her faith in God has helped her.

"We have had hope," she said. "We have learned to have faith in God and learn to recognize hope. Millions of people, I know, prayed for us when the ordeal began. I can be in an airport and have people come up to me and say that I and my family are still in their prayers."

Twitty said that her organization has worked to build information about various countries and their relative safety or lack thereof.

"It has become a valuable tool for young adults. It goes into in-depth issues, such as police and infrastructure," Twitty said. "We worked to create a 1-stop convenient location for the information."

She said officials at Auburn University were in the process of creating a curriculum based on information culled from sources.

Event raises funds

Twitty's visit to Jonesboro Sunday helped to raise money for the council's scholarship fund.

Kathy Finch, coordinator of the event, said the visit by Twitty brought a strong message home and helped a worthwhile cause.

"We had a wonderful turnout," she said. "It felt good to see a lot of young children and their parents here to hear from Beth. Beth has been a delight to work with, and she will continue to work until someone is held accountable for her daughter's disappearance.

"We are also the only district in Arkansas that provides scholarships for kids for our district," Finch added.

Finch said all proceeds from Sunday's event will go toward the scholarship fund.

MeMer, That's what I always felt too.  I do see a resemblance of the older boy and Arlin as a child.  Looks like maybe his face if more filled out now, a little more on the heavy side now?  Certainly the police would have seen this and confirmed whether it was a friend of Shawn's while living with Devlin or they are trying to determine whether it is Arlin.  That website is disturbing.  I can't imagine my child going away innocent, returning with such darkness in his/her life, the exposure and lack of obvious discipline.  How tragic....

I saw that interview in the apartment with the landlord too.  Trying to remember, but there isn't much background in this pic. really to tell.  And the apt. on the news was empty of furniture, so hard to compare that too.

Kalpoes are served in Holloway-Twitty v. Kalpoe IN ARUBA.  I'm hearing this is significant.  Anyone know why?  While it was surprising to me and I thought it was a good thing that JQK was able to have the Kalpoes served in Aruba, what does this mean?

I heard on the news sometime late last week that the police have said that Shawn was the one who actually 'grabbed' Ben and threw him in the white van. Devlin used Shawn to kidnap Ben  :shock:

It just means that Beth and Dave are on their own, like they were in New York, in pusuading that the case can be heard in California? And the fact that Kalpoes brought suit in California will aid them in that argument?

Case in point.  I once had a very expensive purse stolen, with credit cards, passport, etc. inside.  By the time I was done with all the questions, I was alerted by the investigators that I now knew too much information in regards to techniques used in stealing property that my name would be on a list.

Wouldn't it work both ways?  Couldn't Dr phil  & co say, F' it, get your default judgement.  Now try to get the money out of us - you'll have to come to the USA to get it.  Then Beth & Dave would have jurisdiction as the Kalpoes would be in the USA getting paid.  Then couldn't HT  file an injunction to freeze the award money, until their case is settled? I would assume the law in CA can't enforce payment of the settlement, as OJ has never paid the Browns & Goldman.

Another example is once you have participated in a search for a missing child, you get the feel for how the searches are conducted.

I read or heard that Devlin did not move into that apartment for about 8 weeks after Shawn went missing. And that Devlin did take some time off from work around that time due to his diabetes. So he told his employer as to why he needed the time off.

Sunfreak.........I'm not a lawyer, but I think that it works this way: The K2s have indeed already ( through their representitives ) come to California when they filed suit and have indeed obligated themselves personally to appear in California. Since both the K2s and Dr. Phil & Co are "in" California for the suit, any awarded money will be collected.

The HT suit has been ruled not related to the K2/Dr. Phil& Co. case so they are seperate issues.

At this point, JQK will have to do what he did in NY, and ask a Calif judge to rule that there is proper jurisdiction in Calif. to hear the wrongful death suit brought by Beth and Dave. IF a Calif judge rules that Calif IS the proper jurisdiction, then JQK will have to figure out how to get the K2s to respond to the suit. Remember that Joran was served in NY, but I'm not aware of anything that would have compelled him to show up for that court case.

Just read that and need to clarify something. It's my understanding that even if the NY judge had ruled that NY was a proper jurisdiction and that a suit could be filed there, Joran would not have been compelled to come to the US to participate in it. A default judgement could have been made in his absence, but he would not be compelled to undergo deposition or stand "trial" in the civil suit. If a default judgement had been granted in the suit, good luck collecting anything.

I THINK the same would apply with K2 at this stage.

I believe it is possible you are right CBB. In the case against Joran in NY. Joran would not have been obligated to appear but if The Holloways and Twittys had won the case if Joran ever showed up in the States in the future he could have been held or whatever he had could have been confiscated.

#1 The two cases started out as separate cases
#2 After Beth and Dave filed the wrongful death suit, their attorneys filed a request for the cases to be treated as related cases
#3  The judge as just denied that request

I really don't think it's going to make that much difference in whether or not the Kalpoes will be deposed in the H/T case.  Plus, if the Kalpoe suit goes to a jury trial (which they have requested) the Kalpoes will have to take the stand (I believe).  They will have to prove they aren't dirtbags and liars.

The k2 get deposed first.then the mcgraw crowd gets deposed.then jqk reviews all questions and answers before the H/T suit proceeds.H/T would go first,but he would have a base of answers under to compare and contrast to.For my thoughts at the mouse convention...Cat

I'm not a lawyer either.  But I know in many states that even if the judge awards money, it is up to the individual to collect the money.  I would assume that since the Browns & Goldmans have never collected a penny in the civil suit against OJ, that CA cannot compell anyone to pay up.

If the judge decides legal jurisdiction in favor of the HT's, I'm sure there could be plenty of legal manuevering to have cases delayed in both suits. Hopefully the timing would correspond for the Kalpoes to be present at their own case while the other case is going on.

I think that correct, crazybaby, but I do remember someone asking JQK about collecting on a judgment from Paulus and JQK gave that sly little grin and said he was pretty sure he could.  I took that to mean that Paulus has American holdings.  Maybe real estate or part ownership in a business or something.  Don't know about the Kalpoes though.

Because juries feel sorry for little people getting screwed by big companies and rich people.  Most juries are the average joe, the little people.  A judge (a good judge) will rule on the merits of the case.  A jury will be influenced by lots of other stuff, the baggage of life, so to speak.  As that guy on Shark says, It's not about the law, it's about what 12 people think is right.

Yeah well wait until that jury hears Deepak say Natalee dressed like a slut and acted like a slut in his own words.  Let's see how sorry they feel for him then.  Especially when the defense shows photos of how Natalee was dressed.

If the Kalpoes were served in Aruba, that is a CLEAR sign that the case is moving forward. That is probably disallowed if a judge were disposed to kick out the case on jurisdictional issues.

The decision about linking the cases is virtually meaningless.

The website giving the scenario about how Natalee died has some very good points and info, in spite of the anti-Semitic slant. Bear in mind that not all Jews are rich, and not all rich people are Jews. They aren't the "elitists" ones that I am concerned with. It's NOT a Jewish thing.

I wish so badly that those doctors had been able to save that horse's life. It was a very long shot from the beginning, and they almost succeeded. It's a shame that so little is understood about such injuries. I'm not a horse racing fan but I wanted the horse to MAKE IT. What a gallant fighting try.

There are not words to tell how disappointed I am with Widget after reading that inflammatory post. Very little has offended me in here, but I take an attack on MY President and MY beliefs personally, folks. I counted Widget as a friend to this case before reading that. 'Dr. Phil' lawyer responds to suit over Natalee Holloway segment

LOS ANGELES - Two brothers who filed a defamation lawsuit against the "Dr. Phil" show for airing a segment about their roles as former suspects in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway should not be entitled to punitive damages, an attorney for the show said.

Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, both residents of Aruba, filed the suit in December seeking unspecified damages against talk show host Phillip McGraw, CBS Television Distribution Group and private investigator Jamie Skeeters.

The lawsuit alleges the show altered portions of a secretly recorded conversation between Deepak Kalpoe and Skeeters to "create false, incriminating, and defamatory statements that the plaintiffs engaged in criminal activity against Natalee Holloway."

William Haggerty, an attorney for McGraw and CBS, said in court papers filed Friday in Los Angeles that widespread news reports of the brothers' arrest "serves to mitigate any damages allegedly suffered by them and bars or reduces their right to recover any damages."

Haggerty also denied his clients intentionally misrepresented any fact to the brothers or acted with malicious intent. Skeeters is being represented by a separate attorney.

An after-hours telephone message left Monday for the attorney representing the brothers was not immediately returned.

Holloway was 18 when she disappeared on May 30, 2005, while on a trip to Aruba with classmates from her Alabama high school. She was last seen getting into a car with the brothers and their friend, Joran van der Sloot.

Police spent months searching for the missing teen, but the case did not lead to any criminal trial in Aruba.

The brothers were released from police custody following their arrest and have not been charged in the case.

Yep, the Kalpoe brothers became celebrity persons of interest for their part in Natalee's disappearance long before the Skeeters tape was made and then aired on Dr Phil show.  The burden of proof is on the Kalpoes to show how Dr Phil & SKeeters defamed them.  The standard for the burden of proof for a celebrity is much higher than for the average person.

This entire case is a travesty, and the viewing public are left with "evidence" that criminals walk the streets of Aruba and the Netherlands unpunished, unprosecuted.  It's perfectly acceptable behavior to rape and murder an American teenaged girl.  Perfectly fine.

Since the question above, the evidence of criminality, unprosecuted, is clear and undeniable.

The Kalpoe brothers, each and individually, committed the crime of PERJURY, by submitting and signing, under the advice of competent counsel INTENTIONALLY FALSE WITNESS TESTIMONY and the physical evidence are the pv's which they signed.  This refers to the pv's submitetd and signed detailing the false Holiday Inn drop off story.

On the strength of these INTENTIONALLY FALSE statements and with related statements of the criminal Joran van der Sloot, 2 innocent men were falsely arrested and charged with murder.

Accordingly, the Kalpoe's should be arrested and convicted of the crime of Perjury.  And further, based on their criminal conduct, could easily be prosecuted for the separate and related crimes of interferring with a homicide investigation, obstruction of justice and contempt of court.

These are not alleged crimes:  these are crimes for which there is EVIDENCE.

I can't name the source but it does appear that Dr Phil's camp doesn't feel the loss of Jamie will impact this case which is good news. I agree with Klaas and with Hammer, the detailing of the K brother's own statements within this case will likely do them in and rightfully so.

Justins I agree the politics shouldn't be on this thread but please understand that lately and due to the various allegiances regarding the war, some of the posts and slams have gotten a bit extreme. We need to remember that despite our personal feelings that the highest office in our country still deserves a measure of respect. It's a job I would not wish to have either, a very tough one.

A good parent doesn't allow this type of behavior from their sons.  The Sloots aren't good parents.  They think what their son did is a normal behavior for the animals that they raised.  I would bet the house that Paulus has some type of bad behavior in his shady background.  Anita is a fat desperate woman who doesn't care what their husband does as long as he comes home.

Joran Van der Sloot is a born killer and there is nothing the Sloots can do about it.  Paulus made the statement on one of the news shows that Joran has changed.  In his sick mind he thinks that because he served three months in jail he learned his lesson and he won't do it again.  Life doesn't work that way.  He will get the urge to do it again.  Once he loses his temper again he will kill.

Joran having the pictures photoshpped so he could have one of him with Natalee is so sick I can't stand it.  I don't know what it means psychologically, but it's sick.  SICK.  I also think about Joran apparently being capable of being friends and kind and considerate with some women, but not others.  Like some sick Lifetime movie where the serial killer hates his mother and goes around raping and pillaging when women remind him of his mother.  I wish we knew someone who could get into this guy's head and knew what he saw in the women he wants to use, dominate, even rape, as opposed to those whom he can be friendly with.  What's even more disgusting, is that his parents seem to explain, excuse and rationalize his behavior by blaming the women.  Like if they were nice girls, he wouldn't do these things.  It's not HIS fault.   :evil:

The only reason Beth and Dave were able to serve the Kalpoes is because they filed suit in California.  As soon as the Kalpoes filed their suit against Dr. Phil, JQK filed the wrongful death suit against the Kalpes.  It's not that Joran is less guilty, it's that Joran didn't file suit thus eliminating the jurisdiction issue.  This should be completely different than the NY suit that was tossed.  There shouldn't be a jurisdiction problem because the Kalpoes were stupid enough to go ahead with their Dr. Phil suit.

Widget - they haven't said the cause of death yet but it's assumed due to either cardiac arrest or blood clot.  He died while in transit on a plane in TN.

They said it was a heart attack.  But it did cross my mind if someone killed him.
