Thank you Janet. I have the CD of you raise me up , Josh Groban. A very emotional song and lyrics. After all this physical stuff is done, I am going to go for a few sessions to deal with the emotional stuff. And figure out the rest of my life. Before I got sick alot of my time was spent in stuff and with people that weren't making me very happy. I am planning on looking for a new job, still with the feds because I need the health care benefits, but a different organization would do me nicely until I retire.
 
Four hundred persons where I work are losing their jobs, two hundered and forty March 31
and the rest over the next year. I had to at this stage in my life compete for my own job.
I did and was successful, but the way this was done by the management wasn't a good thing. Several best work buddies of mine have to leave or have left and it just isn't a happy place and it will take five years for it to get better there.

Almost 21 years ago ... I had surgery for a brain tumor and ... I did some real soul searching  during my recovery period regarding priorities and ... made personal decisions regarding positive steps that I would apply to whatever time God afforded me in this journey called life.

When a crisis strikes that makes us realizes that we are not in control ... it does make you stop and consider what is most important in your life and who are most imporant in your life.

Almost 21 years ago ... I had surgery for a brain tumor and ... I did some real soul searching  during my recovery period regarding priorities and ... made personal decisions regarding positive steps that I would apply to whatever time God afforded me in this journey called life.

I did not know that Janet. I am glad that you recovered and are here.
I plan on doing the same soul searching and I probbaly have been doing it for a few months. From what I have read and the people that I know who have been thru this type of thing, its part of it. I had some good news on November 24 from my surgeon and he thought that I was going to recover almost fully. When I feel bored and tired of this crap, I think of him and what he said. That day, I felt like I could scale a building, I felt so good and so strong and I want to get back to that feeling and that optimism and absolute joy. And I plan on doing some payback / giveback in some form, just haven't figured that one out yet, just keeping an open mind and waiitng for that thing to happen where I can say, I'll do THAT.

I haven't been posting except for today, chatty I am, but I have peeked in from work at at home. I am thru with Nancy Grace and the TV.

Kat, I believe all of us who read on SM think of you & Tevye and pray for you both daily, not to mention that we're amazed & humbled at your grace and humor through all you're going through.

Good morning and I hope everyone has a good day    Mine started out with a real bang. Walked Zoe, came home, put her chicken on a paper plate, covered it put it in microwave oven like every morning to heat it up. Started the oven and and plate started on fire, I started screaming, the dog ran upstairs to hide. I opened it up, and like a dumbazz started blowing at it to stop the fire. Ashes came rolling out on me. I was going to get my haircut today, almost didn't need to the ashes almost did that for me. I just want to know, what did I do in a past life to bring on all the bad luck I have in this lifetime?  And it's 6:30am, and I have a ton of Irish Creme in my coffee 

OMG No Rose, I hope you and Zoe are okay. That would have scared the living h*ll out of me.

Rosie...is that your new micro that the fire started in? is it ok? that must have been scary!

on a sad note...yesterday on the news they showed where rescuers were freeing an 11 yr old girl from the rubble  in Haiti...they were giving her food and water and she was talking with them...her right leg was stuck ...finally got her out...it was a wonderful moment...but then, later on the news they reported that she had died because of lack of doctor care..they said that she didn't need to die...she could have lived if the conditions were favorable medically...that is a heartbreaker...I don't think that we need to see things like that necessarily and to see the bodies laying on the ground and stacked up...these people are given no dignity even in their deaths..and think of the people of these loved ones who are watching desperately to see a glimpse of their loved ones and they see this stuff! why is the news showing the world this stuff? we know that it is bad over there...we know that they are already suffering...wasn't it not allowed to show the devastation of Katrina as far as bodies and the injured? why are we filming the plight of the Haitians when we didn't want our own people shown like that? what say you all about this? I am really mad..I don't want to see these people in their grief and their suffering...let them have their dignity I say!

That is so sad Cookie, that little girl died needlessly. ITA, we dont need to see this stuff on tv, but they are going to show it. I did see a clip of Steve Harragan on Fox breaking down crying. That broke my heart. They did show bodies on news during Katrina. I was as appalled then as I am now.

Hello all, thought I would pop in for a moment or two and say hello.
Tevye, just hang in there.
I'm on those pills and have been since Nov 27 and I am in the middle  ( ten done ) of the rads.
I felt the effects of the rads yesterday, and that was the tenth one.
I've been at work five days a week most of the time. Between work, appointments and treatments, I have had no spare time and I am getting actually bored with all of this.
My life is revolving around this illness right now, but that is only going to be for another two weeks or so.
I caught a break and chemo wasn't recommended for me right now.

Those "Somethings" speaking to you are kids! I'm doing what I'm doing so next summer, I can still climb trees (our youngest granddaughter will be ready for those lessons) and teach the older grandsons how to look at a slide with blood on it and draw it (finally remembered that I have to make the slide BEFORE they get here, and use the blue dye stuff) and drive from Alaska to Mi with one son,  and paint the outside of my house...oh,yeah, and find a job using this fine new degree I'm working on, a job with bennies so there'll be something left for the kids and better insurance for DH and me.

(But for now, in my mind, I spend a lot of time traveling in Northern Rose's photographs! You should try it, I take my grandsons with me a lot, you'd be amazed at how well they behave...in my head! LOL!)

Haha, it was one of those things where the coach is trying to teach an easier jump (half loop) I couldn't do it, because it involves landing on my broken toe foot, so I said screw this, landed it on my right foot. She was like  You just did a full loop, do it again!! I couldn't do it again, forgot what exactly I had just done.

  I would like to say something about the situation in Haiti.

When you see the buildings that have collapsed, look real close. There is something missing in those buildings, than what you would see in the USA and other countries.

There is NO rebar in any of those buildings, just concrete. They are buildings that weren't built for stability. You may have already thought about this, but I just thought it was worth mentioning.
