I don't think the police were stopping cars on clover, I went down that street with no problem. Only the enterance of the MHP.
Clover also ends, then there are fields  I believe but no roads (I am not sure, never been past the end). It connects to  Corral Hollow which you can get to a road that turns into Tracy Blvd. Sort of the long hard way to get there. They probably just put the suit case in a car and drove by 100's of people.

they could have easily driven out of the park with an alive Sandra earlier in the day before she was reported missing...took her to another location...did the deed...oh,,,give me chills to say that...then hid her somewhere else or left her at the second location, or the shed by the church, got the suitcase and then took her to the pond...so even if their car was searched if it was someone from the park, they would have already driven out with Sandra before the police were even aware that she was missing...
doesn't that martial arts guy leave for work around 4? that is around the last time that Sandra was seen leaving her home, on the video..it was reported that he drove by her house even though he didn't need to...

Those field shacks are used by farm workers..
There are astounding statistics associated with south of the border males, crimes against American children, with American Hispanic children being attacked at alarming percentages..

Somebody like that would have to had access to her at the park ?
Or she would have had to try to walk to the church by herself and had been abducted.
Did the grandfather have any friends who came here from Mexico and worked the fields ? Possibly somebody who worked around his home and was familiar with Sandra ? Somebody she may not have been alarmed by ?

Edward...maybe she DID try to walk to the church herself and someone, a stranger  or someone known to her, abducted her on her way...that could very well be...

It think this would also fit the field worker scenario..
Taking off with her before anyone realizes ..

Doubtful that a farm worker would have had a nice piece of luggage like that.  Someone at that motel would have luggage though.

The outpouring of the city with balloons and stuffed animals and all, how sad. I do hope her mother is alright, wonder if she is still in the hospital?

And nobody would think anything of luggage at a motel.

snip>On Monday, they got a tip about the dairy farm.

Workers on the farm were getting water from a retention pond when the black suitcase came to the surface of the water, police said.

They got a tip?  wish they'd elaborate on that more.....

You guys mentioned the weight of the suitcase needing 4 people to get it out of the water.   I am sure it wasn't that heavy when it was dry.
When they said it came to the surface, was that because the water was all drained out?

I would bet that the suitcase wasn't really that heavy, they had 4 people carrying it so as to not disturb the contents.

Tracy church a crime scene in girl’s slaying (9:57 a.m.)

By The Record
April 07, 2009
TRACY -- The Police Department, shifting gears from trying to find Sandra Cantu to trying to find her killer, has roped off Clover Road Baptist Church with yellow crime-scene tape.

The church is less than 100 yards west of Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, where Cantu lived. The 8-year-old girl’s body was discovered Monday inside a suitcase floating in an irrigation pond two miles north of her home.

A residence inside the mobile-home park also has been roped off as a crime scene.

Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman was holding a 10 a.m. news conference today.

A tree in front of the Orchard Estates park has become an unofficial memorial to Cantu. Passersby, some of them softly weeping with heads bowed, continue to drop off balloons, stuffed animals, notes and candles.

Tracy Unified has several counselors meeting with students this morning at Melville S. Jacobson Elementary where Cantu had been a student.

Come back to recordnet.com for updates and read Wednesday’s Record for more on this story.

Red ribbon also used in airport ID by owners so evidently the luggage has been on flights.

Tip:  Don't use red as so many others do now.

I have nothing to add, except that I am sickened and angry, just like the rest of you. I will do whatever I can to help stop these sick f*cks from hurting anymore babies or people in general. Just point me in the direction of what I need to do. I am angry like the rest of you & will join you in helping to protect our children from pedophiles. What can I do, right now this instant? I am so angry I wanna break everything in my apartment.
