JSM, take a Tic Tac container, you know, one of those little plastic ones? Fill it a little less than full with oregano and then try to cross the border. Oh, don't forget to tuck it down the front of your pants, and only hand it over when threatened with a strip search!

But, eh, I got no hard feelin's, ya know? Iffin' I wanna hear Canuk talk, I jist go to der UP, eh? Dey talk about da same, ya know?

I would have been scared chitless Tevye. What made them wanna strip search you?

Well, I like to think it was cos I had my tightest hip hugger boot cut jeans and FMP sandles on, but they swore it was cos they "just had a feeling". It was a holiday weekend, they had to make their winter salaries off the stupid American kids that weekend!!

Oh, yes, if anyone is keeping track, that ended my career as a criminal. As I tell my inmates, "if I'm sitting in a jail talking to you, your chosen career as a criminal is not workin' out for ya. How's about we get you an education and learn to do something legal?"

Oh how horrible that must have been.

Twasn't that bad, really. They never locked me up, they took most of our money (but left us enough to spend on the long weekend in Canada) and then let us go. Even back then I knew that what they did was fair. (why I would do that when I didn't partake of oregano is still a mystery to me!!!!!! busted for NOT smoking oregano??)

He is  Montreal Canadiens hero.  When I was a kid and we finally got a TV my dad would turn on Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday nights and we would watch together in B&W.  That was before the expansion of the teams to places other than Montreal or Toronto, when not all  goalies wore  masks. 

In 2003 we drove down to Edmonton to watch the Heritage classic hockey game between Edmonton and Montreal.  It was outdoors and - 22 with the wind -30.  The players cleaned the ice between periods with snow shovels and almost every player that was iconic from both teams were there such as Guy Lafleur and Gretzky.  We were bundled up in our winter gear and sitting in Arctic sleeping bags and not cold in the least as the excitement of being there and seeing these guys basically play pond hockey that most kids up here grew up with was spell binding.

Great story.  I remember the original 6 teams - Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Detroit, Boston, and New York.  I also remember the Canadian goalie, Gump in the net, who only wore a mask during his last season of playing.  Last New Years days, the Blackhakws played the Wings at Wrigley field.

OK, we can make all the fun we want of Canada, but your Prime Minister rocks! He played piano and sang "With a Little Help From My Friends" onstage with Yo Yo Ma over the weekend! And he's not bad. I could never see our Pres doing something so off-the-cuff (he'd need a karioke machine and Tina Turner dancing backup for him to do this!!!)
