I think there has to be some validity in people being judged to a certain extent based on how they dress. If a young man wears all the items typical of a gang member, people are going to think he's a gang member. That holds true for anyone, including Casey and her friends. Not saying they dress like gang members, just saying people do read certain things into a person's character based on his/her mode of dress.

My last boss was a little old lady like me, but she liked to dress like a floozy. Even though she was the director of a large non-profit agency and invited to the White House by the President, she was once propositioned by a man as she crossed the street to our office. He thought, because of how she was dressed, that she was a prostitute.

It is difficult sometimes when despite how carefully you try to word things the meanings are often taken wrong. I will not rehash what I said about the slugs. I post much less as to avoid conflict in general, so when it does get that reaction-or perceived reaction-it is difficult.

I try to remind myself that missing children in particular need a voice, and try to bite the bullet.

Before I was born, my parents thought they were sure that I would be a boy, and they only had boy names selected. When I turned out to be a girl, my mom was stumped for a name, so she combined part of her name, part of my dad's name, and part of my sister's name into my name. It's never seemed particularly significant to me that Caylee's name is a combination of Casey's and Lee's. I can see Cindy suggesting that, similarly to what my mom did.

This is disgusting, but it's been bothering me.  I have always believed that maggots don't feed on garbage like pizza, but rather on rotting flesh.  I know that maggots were once used on battlefields in the Civil War because they would eat the rotting and gangerous flesh and actually help the healing process of wounded soldiers.  I have never thought that there were maggots in the trunk because of pizza or trash.  Unless there was meat in the garbage bag, the maggots were in the trunk because of Caylee.  I found some interesting information about maggots.  There was definitely a corpse in Casey's trunk and it was there for numerous days.


The presence of animals on a corpse can provide information for investigators on some of the circumstances surrounding death. They can help pinpoint the time of death, the location of wounds, whether a body has been moved, and whether drugs were present in the body at the time of death.
