Gil was Boy Wonder, starting at WALT as a 15 year old weekend disc jockey, while attending Hillsborough High School. Every one knew Gil, he was a very creative guy we knew would go some where and make it big.

He cleared his name in the Jann Carl case?  Or was this something else?

He couldnt have cleared his name in that case he was convicted and sent to prison for extortion

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News may have solved the mystery surrounding the phantom PR man working for Casey Anthony's attorney. He calls himself "Todd Black," but that's not his real name.

A former FBI revealed to Eyewitness News that Todd Black is really Gil Cabot, a man who's spent time in prison for trying to extort money from a Los Angeles news anchor. The so-called Todd Black has been involved in the Casey Anthony case almost since the beginning.

The man who goes by the name Todd Black at Press Corps Media became defense attorney Jose Baez's public relations firm back in September. Eyewitness News went to Baez's office Monday and asked whether he knew from the beginning that Todd Black is really convicted felon Gil Cabot, but he would not answer any questions.

Baez hooked up with the phantom public relations man who goes by the name of Todd Black two months after Casey Anthony's first arrest, but the man never shows his face in public. One of Baez's partners, Jose Garcia, told Eyewitness News he's never seen Todd Black.

The public hear from Todd Black in October when he made a statement over the phone to a CNN show host.

"This is a very serious case, involving not just the loss of the life of this little girl, but the loss of whatever is going to happen with Casey Anthony," Todd Black said (hear it all).

"But I know that, based on the recording that I listened to, Todd Black is not Todd Black. Todd Black is Gil Cabot," former FBI agent Jack Trimarco told WFTV reporter Kathi Belich during a phone interview on Monday.

Trimarco, a former FBI lie detector specialist, investigated Cabot in the 1980s for trying to extort money from Entertainment Tonight talent Jann Carl, who was then a Los Angeles TV news anchor.

"We recorded many, many phone conversations between Gil Cabot and Jann Carl, although Gil was always using different names and different aliases in his scheme. He eventually got arrested and was found guilty," Trimarco said.

Trimarco said someone connected to the Jann Carl case recently alerted him that Cabot, aka Todd Black, was involved in the Caylee Anthony case. When he listened to a recording of Todd Black's voice, the voice wasn't the only thing he recognized.

"But I do believe that he had used the alias Todd Black back in the 1980s," Trimarco said.

Late Monday afternoon, Press Corps Media responded to Eyewitness News' question in an emailed statement (read full statement).

"It simply DOES NOT MATTER if our company was founded by a gentleman who spent time in prison over twenty-five years ago, especially since that distinction is a key selling point that brings credibility to our services assisting celebrities, politicians and others charged with a crime. It simply DOES NOT MATTER that when he sold the company in 1996 he remained a consultant, just like it simply DOES NOT MATTER that security names are assigned to our company staff," Todd Black wrote in the release.

That still does not answer the question, is he really Gil Cabot?

Mr. FBI agent should have asked Blink who knew this all the way back in OCTOBER! LOL!

Blink and team are hopeful that Ms. Belich and WFTV recalls where they got this information and provide a link back before Red finds out

They can't fool some of us like they can the media. We need to start a company exposing FRAUDS, since that seems to be a common thread in these cases.

Remember the bank closing the "Find Caylee" accounts?  That was done because of some good investigating also by Blink & others.  And WHO KFN really was, and how the non-profits were NOT really non-profits at all?

I went back and read through a lot of Joy's chat, something that caught my eye was she was calling Tony the devil, I'm wondering if Joy and Cindy communicate, if perhaps the defense is going to try and go after Tony. Or she is just plain nuts.

Rose, yes of course Joy talks to Cindy.  She has been seen with the Anthonys several times.  Cindy, George, Casey have ALL pointed their fingers toward Tony, Amy, Ricardo & Jesse - anyone but who is guilty of killing Caylee, Casey.   Since Joy is supporting the Anthonys & communicates with them regularly of course she would make a statement like that.   If you ask me the devil shops at Targe' with other people's money & is currently jailed under a murder one indictment as we speak.

Totally agree the devil is sitting in jail, I was trying to get an answer if Joy knew the Anthonys before this all happened or later. Since her husband is a PI I'm assuming she got involved later, but I don't know what part her husband played as far as the other PI's go.

Well, her husband being a PI is a whole different story. There is some research on that too. Don't buy that story either.  I don't have time right now to post it, but there is a lot of information about him too.

Cabot is a veteran talent agent and television producer with an interesting past: He served prison terms for grand theft in the 1980s and attempted extortion in the 1990s, the latter conviction arising out of a scheme to force a Los Angeles TV anchorwoman to pay $30,000 by claiming to have a sexually explicit videotape of her.

Cabot has not returned a call for this story.

Hi everyone!

I haven't been on here in a few weeks.  got the house packed up in San Diego and we are now living outside of Orlando. Good to be back.

I have been keeping up on the news  .. now it's local real time 

wasn't shocked to hear about George trying to kill himself... I figured that Cindy may follow one day. 

My friend that works at the jail has told me there are rumors going around that Casey is pregnant.. I guess time will tell. She did look like she was busting out of that suit jacket when she was last in court.

When the story came on about Todd Black today, I told my husband that the monkey's knew this awhile back! He said who?  I said the Monkey's!  He thought i was nuts 

Well I hope to keep caught up..I've missed a lot on the forum...hope that everyone is doing well...

Glad you got moved and you are settled, please lets hope Casey isn't pregnant.
