According to Cindy Anthony’s statement to detectives, Lee recovered the lanyard with Casey’s backpack:

 “…There was one thing missing that I had in a bag and I made mention of that… Casey had a lanyard (this was in her work bag- there was no clothing bag) in her work bag that had Amy’s resumes in there - cuz it had an envelop with Amy’s resumes. Casey had a lanyard that had the Universal Studios ID- her original one from when she worked at Kodak, there’s a shamrock with white beads on it with a big one… it was not there the next day. It was there that night, but not there the next day. Casey was never left alone to go get that. Because Lee and I walked her into her bedroom, when we came home that night. Walked her right past everything. She didn’t even know what we/I had taken out of the car. Cuz I had it over by the washer and dryer and I have an ice chest we have setting off to the side. From the point when we called 911 she was never left alone by deputies. So she couldn’t have taken it out. Lee didn’t take it. I didn’t take it. It was missing by the time people came back to take the car and the stuff that was in it. Because I left it in her bag. When I went back to the bag to write the stuff down on the sheet, it wasn’t there. So somebody took it that Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. It had to be (LE) but it wasn’t listed in the items. Someone had to have taken it. If you guys have it, it should have been with the stuff.

Translation: We are going to see this lanyard again. Whether it has been recovered already in evidence and it has not been made public or it comes up in some nefarious finger pointing way, this will be the crux of the next blame game. Recall that Sean Daly gets the call late night of the 15th that he misses, and the lanyard goes poof according to Cindy.....


Nice try Cindy...more BS    Boy, she goes way out of her way to say quite a few ways that Casey couldnt have taken it doesnt she?  This statement by Cindy is a boldface lie  "From the point when we called 911 she was never left alone by deputies."    How about since she washed those pants & sent them to the dry cleaner that she wouldnt be out of the realm of possibilities of hiding that from LE according to what Casey told her or Lee?    Why do I say that, because Amy in her sworn statement said that Cindy had pictures in her car of Casey out partying (no clothes party specifically)  and threw them at Casey saying "you were at work" so its obvious Cindy looked at pictures on Casey's myspace/facebook.   She printed them & brought them with her to get Casey at Tony's.  Cindy also knew that beeotch didnt work since 2006 so she knew Casey having that old ID would bring up questions & identify her easily - isnt it interesting that Cindy has this one piece "missing" knowing the detectives took Casey to Universal where she knew Casey was lying that she worked?

Did it occur to this woman that they should have never touched ANYTHING in that car, o hey about this not take the car home but call LE from the tow yard after smelling death!   Cindy also has to realize that it would come out that there was PLENTY of time that Casey was alone with her, Lee & after LE left that evening as well as inbetween LE coming for Casey the next day to go out on her "Tour de Lies" she volunteered to go with them on.  They picked her up twice that morning, and inbetween Cindy, Lee & Casey referred to creating Casey's new myspace page & calling people to inform them that Caylee was "missing."

So Cindy right then begins to accuse OCSO of doing something without her knowledge - she can't mean just "anyone" took it because if deputies were there all night they certainly would know if someone else came to the Anthony house that night...duh!  Now, here is the question:  how do we even know that lanyard was ever in the bag or in the car & was Cindy already (with knowledge) setting up a cover for Casey, you betcha!  According to her no one would have known it was in that bag because she is reporting it missing before it was confiscated, right?  Its pretty clear what Cindy's intent all along was, to cover for her murdering tramp!

Deenie interesting you brought up this video, I saw a fuller version on WFTV that was a tad over 10 minutes that I mentioned the other day.   Its full of lies and accusations isnt it!      I find it incredible that a grandma missing a granddaughter feared dead & knew the evidence in that trunk would use "maggots" in her tirade to the media....you have no idea how many times I was tempted to fly to Orlando just to give Cindy my version of a reality check!!

Clever version of falling off the stupid tree!   Too bad the bamboo didnt impale that gene pool a generation down.   This is exactly what the experts speak of about dysfunction and how a cycle has to be broken professionally & with great care...it breaks my heart that it circled like a cyclone in that house for so long that precious Caylee didnt have a fighting chance at a normal free life.

O/T  LA County is prosecuting John Steven Burgess with the death of Donna Jou. No body has been recovered. I cried for I was still hoping she'd turn up alive. Update in her thread under missing persons.

Geraldo's comment & Dr. Michael Baden's "slip" regarding chloroform being in Caylee's hair occurred Sat night, some national coverage has even touched on it (HLN), not so much local news BUT what I find interesting is there has been NO rebuttal, retraction or correction made by Dr. Michael Baden himself, Geraldo, Baez or Mrs. Baden or anyone representing Casey's defense team nor the Anthony camp.   Doesnt that seem rather curious considering they have responded back to pretty much every other blunder and "misstatement" in the past?

Oh wow...that sure looks like a shamrock lanyard around Cindy's neck.  Is that the one that she claims was in Casey's bag that is was missing and she accused LE of stealing it?  I have brought up this video quite a few times in the past.  I just can't believe that this family was so worried about people trespassing on their property and never, ever once went to look anywhere (except towards the end when sightings started) to look for their grandbaby.  Calling the media names an blaming them and Cindy saying she doesn't discuss the case or ask Casey (when she was at home) where Caylee is.  Just as LP said when he observed this family.  He said before that that when he was in the house they never talked about Caylee or where she was at or anything with Casey.  The more I go back and watch this case and look at old videos and read reports and knowing what we all know now it makes me even angrier.  Some days I really have to not check on this case because it's one of the worse cases of a family not looking for a baby I've ever seen.  And supporting their daughter is one thing...but not holding her accountable is quite another and pretending it's all good is beyond words.

Pretty sure it was on NG tonight.. I believe that NG said that Dr. Baden had said that he had mis spoke...that he not meant to say that...something along those lines...

Yep....certainly the biggest enablers as parents that I have ever seen...even at the expense of their dear grand daughters life..it is still more important to them to appease Casey Ho and make sure that she is happy...than to get justice for their own innocent grand child...it is sad and maddening beyond words....I suppose if they  admitted how bad Casey Ho really is, they may have to take a look at themselves and realize their part in creating this monster that they are so proud of....sad sad sad...

The other thing - Nancy tried every which way but loose to get any of the guests to answer why Lee or the Anthony's wouldn't want to just reveal who the father is, especially if it is not Lee as the reports today indicate.
Well, I can answer (might not be right, but I can come up with one valid answer and one bizarre)
Valid answer:  Because the anthony's are looking ahead.  If When casey is convicted, if paternity is determined there would be a civil suit for wrongful death brought against them.  If they know (and I think they do know) they knew whomever it was - the father or the family might want to sue for custody due to caseys behavior.  cindy said several times, she couldn't afford to get custody - but at the cost of Caylee - they couldn't and now don't want the father to be known.

Fine, I promised a bizarre answer:  georgie or another family member.

I found that to be very interesting as well Capp.  I would have expected some sort of response from the Bias camp whether it be in front of the camera or in a written statement.  They are so quick to accuse LE of leaking info but when it comes to their side all is quiet.  Hmmmmm

Well, Cindy IS so believable....she'd never LIE about something.  The defense may try to use this, but they will have to call Cindy to give her story on this.  Cindy will not be the least bit believable and I honestly think the jury will not like her at all.  It is very important to be likable to a jury and none of the Anthony's will be liked or believed.  It's gonna be so obvious what their purpose is - and it is not telling the truth. IMO

I can't wait for their depo's in the Zenaida case.  Sure they will have practiced to get stories straight, but they won't be able to hold it together.  Their emotions will get the best of them and Cindy for one will probably blurt out alot before her lawyer can stop her.  All Morgan has to do is get Cindy really pissed off.

Its definately possible, but I do not think she would have went to the trouble of blaming LE for taking it, and pointing out it was missing when by all accounts they were not even aware of it if she was not planning to or was aware of where it would turn up, imo.

How is that possible? Would that not be dismissed as a "he said she said" type thing?  Unless Cindy has a date and time stamped photo or video of the lanyard being where she says it was...she has no proof, only words.

Just wanted to note as well, how is Cindy going to claim the lanyard when by all other accounts of her and George and Lee, they had no real proof that Casey was working other than her word and a few fake deposit slips and emails.

I agree with Blink, that if anything she is attempting to throw a wrench in LE's chain of custody and evidence, but quite frankly the only real person she would be implicating would be herself, George, and Lee as she clearly states they cleaned out the car, and the items were sitting where they placed them, and remained there as far as she could tell until LE claimed them.  So the spot light can go either way, she said LE, LE says them......ugh!

Unless CA was trying to beat LE to the punch - saying "well, you got it, not me".    Maybe she was afraid that someone would tell LE that KC had the laynard.   It would have made more sense for her to never bring it up, but in her mind, she may have thought she was doing a good job for covering for KC.     Someone knows about the laynard.   If it contained a fake work ID, someone knows about it - because someone probably made it for her.

He snuck in the kitchen & jumped on his hind legs to retrieved a chunk of corn beef that my husband stepped away from for a few minutes on a call before finishing slicing it!   I guess the aroma all afternoon was getting to him too!   Bad dog! Pizzed was I!

When I went back to the bag to write the stuff down on the sheet, it wasn’t there. So somebody took it that Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. It had to be (LE) but it wasn’t listed in the items. Someone had to have taken it. If you guys have it, it should have been with the stuff.

I still see a "he said she said" battle here.  Cindy is saying that she removed it, therefore she was the last to have seen it, or the "only one" to have seen it...how can the LE have taken something without her knowledge if she had to be there to let them in?  I can not imagine her allowing someone in her home without her nosey bum being on their butts throughout the entire search.

The other aspect of this that I find incredible, no I take that back we're talking about Cindy here...Clearly, she was setting them up for taking a key piece of evidence without a search warrant and her consent which shows her intent & motivation from the getgo.   But here is what is insane...Why the lanyard versus let's say shoes, casey's clothes, o heck the entire bag!    Or was it because she knew that ID was worthless since 2006 but could ID Casey.   I mean why would Casey be carrying around a work ID for a job she got fired from years ago & she just got done lying to police where she worked - the only reason would be to continue to lie to others that is where she worked as a cover.

Or she was so desperately trying to cover for her daughters pathetic lies that she made up the story to cover up having to produce a lanyard that never had existed.  The lanyard on the rear view mirror, made of leather strap, charm, knotts, and 2 beads, clearly had no ID on it, and that photo was older.  I just do not understand how should could pull this off when clearly it shows in pictures that its very much untrue. 
Also, why not ask one of the millions of people who where in and out of that car if they had ever seen the lanyard?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- In the civil case against Casey Anthony, e-mails to a judge played a part in forcing Casey's parents to face questions under oath.

The judge received e-mails from people who pointed out that George and Cindy Anthony went to Putnam County to search for Haleigh Cummings.

The Anthonys told the judge they had not made any public appearances since the discovery of Caylee's remains in December and were not emotionally ready to answer questions.

However, the Anthony's will have to answer questions on tape on April 9. A hearing on the issue was set for Wednesday afternoon, but was cancelled.

Amen, Bikerbev!  So well put!!  I've been rewatching a few old videos myself this morning, and I'm a lttle behind reading here, but just wanted to say I too am angrier than I was before.  I'm glad all the emails and phone calls to that judge for the Zenaida case seemed to work.  April 9th should be very interesting to see what old George and Spindy have to say (if they don't plead the 5th).

You just can't take your eyes off a toddler for a second...I did it once and my youngest son (age 3 at the time) was twenty yards up the road chasing our dog who was chasing a cyclist, by the time I spotted him....you never saw an old monkey move so fast.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The state of Florida has filed a list of people they have subpoenaed in the case against Casey Anthony.

The list of those subpoenaed by the state includes Casey Anthony's parents, Cindy and George, as well as her brother Lee.

When Casey Anthony's trial starts Oct. 12th, her family will be legally required to be ready to take the stand against her.

Prosecutors hope to get from the Anthonys that they never met, saw or talked to the babysitter Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez, who Casey claims kidnapped Caylee. Ex-boyfriend Tony Lazarro, tthe man closest to Casey Anthony at the time her daughter disappeared, has told investigators she lied to him about where Caylee was.

Casey Anthony's own Grandmother, Shirley Plesea, also has been subpoenaed. Plesea sent her daughter Cindy Anthony emails suggesting Casey was lying and involved in Caylee's disappearance.

There is also a subpoena of Kiomarie Cruz, Casey's childhood friend who is expected to testify the two used to hang out in the woods where Caylee's remains were dumped. Another name is Brian Burner, who saw Casey Anthony backing her car in to the garage and borrowed a shovel from him a couple of days after investigators believe Caylee died.

Even employees of the Mount Dora nursing home where this last video of Caylee was taken, are now under subpeona as state witnesses.

Caylee Anthony's remains were found on Dec. 11 in a wooded area off of Suburban Drive near the Anthony home in East Orange County.

Casey Anthony is in the Orange County Jail charged with murder in Caylee's death.

Gonzalez Civil Hearing Called Off

A hearing scheduled for Wednesday in the civil case against Casey Anthony was called off late Tuesday.

The hearing was to review whether Cindy and George Anthony would be required to give a deposition in the case filed by Zenaida Gonzalez.

The couple have agreed, so there is no need for the hearing. No date has been set.

It is understandable why we are all questioning the lies.  It is what a normal person does when they are faced with something that does not make sense.  The Anthony family, all of them, have thrown out false information as a distraction or in hopes that something will stick. This is what  manipulative people do.  They have probably done this their entire lives.  Casey learned to lie from someone.  They did not learn to lie when they were faced with this crisis.  This entire family has deeply rooted psychopathology.  We find this mind boggling, but to them it's just their reality.  The reality that they have always lived in.  They did not just become crazy when Caylee went missing.

Just an observation.  In looking back over Caylee photo's in the ones with her mother, Casey did not always wear the ugly Shamrock necklace.  It seems in earlier photos she would wear a gold necklace or a decrative necklace that accessorized the outfit.  Not until her more recent photo's is that hideous Shamrock necklace even in pictures.

I guess more importantly what I am trying to get at is this.

In a photo with one of her "old" friends she is wearing a candi necklance and mardigra beads, or in other photos a gold necklace, or a stylish y necklace....but in the more recent ones, with every single outfit she is wearing that hideous shamrock silver chained necklace.

Now that I know all the meanings for Shamrock I wonder if it was not part of her "change" along with her new "change" of friends as George likes to hint at.

...although Cindy claims Shamrocks are Casey's thing....it could be just a laugh for Casey that her Mom went all out to adorn people attending the memorial with Shamrock pins.

Thank you, Dolce.  You WIN by posting that very clear Easter pic of Caylee -- not tape then, just squared-off lighter muzzle on the bunny.  Pixels are the individual square "dots" that make up the picture.  The image that looked like tape had been enlarged/copied repeatedly and was not clear, causing elements in the pic to become distorted and squared off -- notice how the hearts are not shaped like hearts, either.  Good job, Dolce, and I'm with ya on the shamrock necklace thing.  It appears to match the one on the rear-view mirror in the pics from Cowboys night, which was much earlier, IIRC, when Annie was living at Sawgrass w/Dante.

Wonder if this will have a bearing in Casey's case?  I think it will.

I must agree with BikerBev and Mtmom -- the lanyard worn by Cindy in the "Hammertime" video appears similar to Casey's "work badge" lanyard as described by Cindy to LE.  (I have this funny half-baked theory about Cindy making sure to include certain items in the frame when she appears in the media, as some kind of message to Casey.  The Pooh bedding, teddy bear wearing the heart/Mommy shirt displayed on Casey's bed, possibly the cross necklace, possibly the lanyard, etc.)

Sassy's theory posted in this thread around 8:46 a.m. (sorry, tried to fetch the link but got locked out) is similar to what I have thought for a long time about why Cindy mentioned the "missing" lanyard to LE.  (I admit, the possibility of the ID being in the name of the "seasonal employee" "Zenaida" is a twist that had not occurred to me, Sassy.  Wow, there's a thought.  I believe, however, that Universal checked and informed LE that a ZG had never worked at Universal -- ICBW though.)

[1]  IMO, Cindy needed LE to be aware of the existence of Casey's "work badge" to bolster the lie that Casey worked at Universal.  Cindy may very well have been aware that the work badge was either an old one or a fake one, as she seems to have been covering for Casey about a lot of things for some time.

[2]  However, whatever "work badge" may have been on that lanyard would have necessarily been incriminating, as it would have had to be fraudulent in some way.  Therefore, it had to "disappear."  It is interesting to me that Cindy also started to go through Casey's wallet but LE "snatched" or "grabbed" (both words used by Lee) the "ID card" or whatever it was hidden behind Casey's license, before Cindy could confiscate it.

BTW, Cindy stated to LE that Casey was never left alone the evening of July 15, so she couldn't have nabbed the lanyard.  But IIRC, Lee told police in a later version of his story of that night (not in his first interview) that he and Casey were sitting alone together in the garage for some time, and that he repeatedly went into the house to escape the stench of the car, leaving Casey alone in the garage, where Cindy claims the lanyard was.

I agree with NewsJunkie that there is some HUGE family secret which may explain a good deal of the A's bizarre behavior in this case.  If it turns out that George or another family member fathered Caylee, yes -- it would be shocking -- but it sure would explain a lot.  IMO the fact that Lee, George, Casey, and Cindy have all told conflicting stories about Caylee's paternity -- even under oath in LE interviews -- tells me that where there is smoke there is bound to be fire.

Will it come out in a document release before trial?  Will we have to wait till the trial?  Will we EVER know the truth about who Caylee's father is and/or why the A's have consistently behaved so strangely on this subject?

I can't take all the credit.  Today sent me there just at the same exact time the story was coming out.  That never happens to me, maybe that's a good omen!

I think it's much simpler than that- Casey had no clue who the father was but she could hardly say that now,could she? So knowing how gullible her mother was she made up what sounds a fairly respectable story, and one they can't really check out- so that Mom could stay in that perfect family cloud 99 she was living on. Thanks Zoe, JSM is not very smart about most things, but when I read what Tony and Lee talked about when Tony was wired the robbery of his apartment just smacked me in the face as a big lie KC or Lee had concocted to make it look like someone else had taken Caylee. It is not very clear, but when you freeze the shot you can sometimes get a glimpse of the lanyard Cindy is wearing.  At one point she holds up the picture of Caylee attached to the lanyard.  I grabbed a few still shots, but the lanyard is more clearly visible on the video itself.

Desi, that is what I have been trying to say all along. There was no break in at Tony's. Just a figment of Lee's imagination brought on by his lying slore sister. I have never thought there was a break in to his apartment. Woo Hoo, first time JSM may be right about something!  ::MonkeyDance::
