Another way to look at this:

Joran took Beths money on May 10th, was tipped off by ALE that they were going to detain him (per the FBI). Joran, then fled to Peru knowing they had no extradition rights with Netherlands and Aruba. Joran knew he was on the run, robbed Stephanie and then lost it completely in the hotel room.

And in the end, that "no extradition thing" has come full circle and bit him in the azz.  Dontcha love when that happens?!?

On the second anniversary of Caylee Anthony's disappearance , the toddler's grandparents said they can identify with Natalee Holloway's mother, but not with the mother of suspected murderer Joran van der Sloot -- despite the murder charges against their daughter, Casey Anthony.

A judge in Peru officially has charged the young man with murder.



"I don't know if I can identify with Mrs. Van Der Sloot because her son has confessed to something," Caylee's grandmother, Cindy Anthony, said in an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America." "You know, there have been issues where she saw his angry side. I don't know that of Casey. I don't know Casey as being anybody that could hurt anybody."

Greta referred to her own experience visiting Joran's parents with Beth. She did not mention her own lap-dog interview with Joran himself.

FWIW, the footage she showed of Anita did not match the narrative line. That was Anita at a different time. Remember, Paulus made them turn off the cameras before Beth and Greta were invited in. There were actually no cameras at the interview Greta was talking about.

I don't like Greta very much any more.

WHY can't they put together the obvious? Aruba stayed true to form and tipped Joran off. ALE could have hauled him to jail immediately based on the info that he knew where Natalee was buried as part of the laughable continuing investigation of Natalee's murder.

Why the tortured winding road that the FBI is somehow responsible?

CBB - so true!  And I think we can make a pretty good assumption of just exactly WHO did the tipping off, based on the posts on his FB the day after he left.  Anita posted one, and so did Renfro.  Of course, Renfro immediately deleted hers when this news broke.

Looks like the judge has granted a 3 month extension for the Kalpoes to come to LOS ANGELES to give their depositions.  This is actually great in light of the recent events.  It will give the Kalpoes three more months to sweat about it. 

I wonder WHY???????  This is another of those things that have simply gone on tooooooooooooooooooo long!   I guess like you say though....it gives them longer to sweat!!  I wonder ........do they have passports?  I think I remember reading they came to aruba  on their mother's passport?  Don't quote me.......I may be completely wrong about this...

OMG wouldn't that be hilarious?  I don't get the whole "coming back for a special taping".  It would be great if the FBI was sitting there waiting for him.  Then I guess Nancy would have the last laugh.

This one made a lot of noise,...was really weird. It knocked a bird out of its nest on the deck, poor little thing, it kept flying into the glass. It settled down when I went out there.
