I would be willing to bet that Misty is on some form of public assistance. I am sure from working with the system that she would qualify for SSI (social security) based on her IQ and possibly because of her drug use. Add that to the fact that her family no doubt knows how to work the system and there you go. I know that several of my friends in AA have either qualified for SSI or have friends that have. I know that my step son, who is a convicted child molester but under 18, qualifies because he has "mental illness". Strange how the ne'er do wells seem to get help and the good people pay the price. We had to pay for his "treatment" but he gets the check each month to help with his "living expenses" - not us. Go figure. So sad.

People who have worked productively all their lives have quite a difficult time getting Soc. Sec. Disability, because they do not instinctively know how to work the system.  Even lawyers who help such people SS Disability advise their clients who really are disabled, that there is an 80% chance of getting turned down, making an appeal or several appeals necessary.  One of the reasons is that physicians/shrinks who are legitimate, are not schooled in the proper wording of their backup to to the claim, while-as shady doctors have their backup to slick finished product (as that is all they do).  In legitimate cases there may be claims for an exceedingly rare condition, which really slows down the process.  Shady doctors know which condition to claim, to guarantee speed in processing.  It is advised that legitimate claimants with a rare condition provide names of legitimate experts that SS Disability claims examiner can contact.  Also, pertinent pages from leading medical journals that describe the rare condition.  In many legitimate claims, it's a learning experience for the SS Disability claims examiner.

The Bald Truth has obtained a copy of the new 911 call Misty Cummings made to police Monday night, Oct. 18, after she was robbed and injured fighting off three unidentified men she says yanked her out of a car and stole her purse, along with purses of two other young women she was with.

One woman later told police she let a friend out at a housing project where she said she wanted to buy drugs. According to a police report we’ve also put up, the driver said she was only taking another friend and Misty, who both wanted to score.

But her father denies she was part of the alleged drug buy gone wrong, and police say no illegal drugs were ever recovered from the car, or the women.

According to James Griffith, assistant chief of the Palatka Police Department, detectives will be hunting for Misty tonight to do more interviews in trying to identify the robbers. A preliminary investigation had to be cut short Monday night, he said, when the officers got another 911 call for an unrelated shooting and had to respond.
