bernie goldberg on fox just ripped the jury a new one! he said that even a martian who came down from mars and just heard the basics of the case would have found her guilty!

I still don't think a mistrial can be called after a "not guilty" verdict -- no matter what. Even if it was possible, I don't think Perry would call for one because it would expose that he knew it was going on. He was in too big a rush to get the trial over WITHOUT a mistrial.

I don't think so either ...not after a verdict has been handed down and announced. I had concerns during jury selection. We went through all those people and when it got down to the bottom of the barrell it seemed to me that JP was so invested in getting his jury seated that he threw caution to the wind and took whatever he could get.
I don't see JP getting re elected next yr, I read he was going to run one more time for CJ but I dont think he will get it now, I also thought he rushed picking a jury out. The sad part is that even if he wanted to retry this or go back on the verdict and was able to, Bozo would say they wouldnt get a fair trial. I have a feeling Yuri and other cops will be watching for every chance to arrest her on anything

That said, I DO think theoreticly the judge could summons the jury back and and hold them in contempt with sanctions.

I know this is pissing in the wind but this was posted on my fb page...does any smart monkey know if there is any merit to this?

Double Jeopardy does not apply if they file federal charges against her for violating the civil rights of her child. She can receive a life sentence if convicted. Anyone who waits a month to report their child missing has violated their civil rights!! Everyone needs to contact the feds, state atty and atty general in FL and get them to prosecute the crap out of her that way!!!!. Contact Lawson Lamar, State Atty Florida.

Does anyone remember if Casey talked with the FBI in the early phase of the investigation ? I know the penalty is greater for giving false information to a federal officer.

Jury reform needs to happen...it can be called reform for Caylee.  This jury was not competent enough to understand the evidence given to them so they disregarded it.  The dirty tricks of the defense should not be allowed.  The United States justice system has crossed a line today and if it is not fixed...now...who knows what will come of it.  What can we do to get the reform started?  SN:  Hopefully we will receive the names of these jurors and look up their records through Pinellas County Clerk of Courts...the activity will likely show us if they come into some extra money.

http://topics.law.cornell.edu/wex/motion_for_judgment_notwithstanding_the_verdict

JP can overturn the not guilty verdict very rare not sure if he will he did find her not guilty based on the verdict so not sure but this is interesting reading..

A motion asking the court to enter judgment notwithstanding the verdict.  This motion argues that no reasonable jury could reach the verdict that the jury in this case just did.  In other words, it claims that the jury did not follow proper instructions and ruled for the opposing party based on legally insufficient evidence.  In federal court, this motion has been replaced with the JMOL motion.  See Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 50.

I agree...it is terribly flawed...

Guys I wanted to go outside and light a candle for Caylee but I only have birthday candles, would that be too tacky?
an angelic monkey

I don't think so, I think you do what you need to do to greive this loss and remember innocence lost...I know as soon as I heard the verdict I grabbed my snorkel and mask and went to the swim, I stayed out there for 4 hrs with the 2 fish that find me everyday and swim with me, the dolphins and shells, I needed to be away from the noise of all of it, I needed to be somewhere peaceful and serene to talk to God, pray and be alone...I just couldn't take it at the moment, so I think lighting candles no matter what kind is a beautiful idea.....maybe we should all do our own little memory for her and post it?

There were several cases of persons found "not guilty" in murder cases of blacks in the 60's that were convicted by the Federal Government years later for violating their Civil Rights. I would think killing a child could qualify for this.

I thought so too Mission....

He's not flipping off the media....

He's saying "f U" to the legal system, LE, the Florida taxpayers, the constitution, and Lady Justice. He is a disgrace....

Edit.  The f part was too close to real thing.  MB

I am anxious to see what KARMA has in store for ALL of them.
