A few minutes ago came to the post of Santa Rosa, in Tacna, five Chilean police officers to coordinate the release of Joran van der Sloot.

RELEASE?  You mean release into Peruvian custody, right?  Man, whenever I see the words "release" and "Joran Van Der Sloot", I get all messed up...

They call it release because they "push" him across the border into the hands of the Peruvian authorities.

The Embassy of Netherlands in Peru will not pay any defense attorney for Joran van der Sloot, prime suspect of killing Stephany Flores (21), daughter of local business Ricardo Flores.

“We are very sorry for these sad events, and just the suspect is a terrible shock for our country,” said an Embassy spokesperson to local press.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the victim,” said the spokesperson, who asked to remain anonymous.

Just in Hart van Nederland:

People of the Dutch embassy have visited Joran in the Chilean police-cel. He was calm and relaxed and said he didn't need specific help from them.
His lawyer: Joran said to him he got a message from Joran in which he said he would give him self in in Chile.
Ma is in shock....

It was his Dutch lawyer; he said it was not claire why Joran wanted to give himself in in Chile. But this lawyer also said: some things he (the lawyer) could not share with the public because it was confidential.

Now Terror Jaap speaks: Joran constantly was in problems; lack of money, lack of drugs and so on. He thinks Joran is going to tell exactly where Natalees remains are, in a couple of weeks. (Don't know why he thinks that.)

Was Joran thinking they would find Natalee's body during the excavation for the Ritz Carlton hotel?  Could he have decided he had to try and get money NOW out of Beth before they find her remains?

Clarifying the "AGAIN:"

Natalee was the wrong daughter, also.  When Natalee's family arrived within hours of her disappearance, Paulus was surprised.

Aruba was surprised by the publicity; surprised by Beth's determination.  The hoped for "two-week wonder" turned into a five-year march.

Natalee was "the wrong daughter" as was Stephany.

Joran is under the bus and likely to get squashed.

That alone makes one wonder exactly how many victims were before Natalee that went unnoticed.

I wonder, too.  Beth's description of Joran beating his chest is an indication that Joran may have believed it was all over, nothing Beth could do about it.  Joran's arrogance indicates he knew he had more power through Paulus.  Twenty times before and no known prosecutions--no deaths?.  With Joran's anger problems it's difficult to believe he hadn't killed before Natalee arrived.

Oh they didn't go unnoticed.  After he killed Natalee, 4 girls on Aruba were finally emboldended enough to come forward with their claims against him.  It wasn't until Narcotics Detective Dennis Jacobs got ahold of them that they ran fast in the other direction, and not a word was heard about them again.

Aruba knows what this monster was, and they just let him keep getting away with it.  Over and over again.

The article Cece posted said that they could only provide a health check, not legal assistance. (I guess butt plug would fall under health check!)  It said that he would have to pay for his own legal assistance, they would not assist in this.  I wonder if they have court appointed defense atty's free of charge, as US does?

I would love to learn what FALSE evidence he gave the FBI/Beth. 

this is bugging me.....I assume LE in Aruba would have to be working (or say they were) with the FBI to check out anything in aruba......

I want to know what the info was and WHO EXACTLY checked it out and deemed it incorrect..........

I don't think it has anything to do with false information it was the act of getting money for information that was against the law.

The actual obtainment of money or property is not required to commit the offense.

thanks...but my concern is not about the extortion......it's about the information he gave that was deemed false....my concern is WHO, WHAT COUNTRY checked out the information..if the FBI asked the LE in Aruba to go check this or that re Natalee who is to say something was not found and destroyed...after all aruba can turn blood into chocolate
