Probably wouldn't be to hard to make that hubcap tree. Just use a sturdy wire tree shaped frame, hang the hubcaps on with "s" hooks, trim with greenery around the bottom.....avoid all those dropping needles. :wink:

That is an adorable picture.  Yes, it is a little boy in costume with big hat with face mask, etc.  I think Carnuts is a space suit but they do look similar nonetheless.  Face gear and full body costume.

Little boys must like stuff like that.  Mine would make motor noises before they could talk, too.  Always wondered why and where they heard them, etc. so think maybe they are born doing that.

Well, Louise your pic is kinda similar, but my pic comes from a bit longer ago I'll bet. Christmas 1954, that's dear ole dad in his working clothes. That's my boot and spur sticking out into the pic. This pic was probably taken just a few minutes prior to my avatar pic when I had the helmet placed on my head, making me 'Cowboy Pilot'.

Inquiring minds with lots to do and little patience want to know.

I read it as a theatening letter from the Minister of Justice to the head of AHATA as a "shut your non-Aruban mouth" about crime or there will be punishable consequences.  It also suggests that hiring Arubans and promoting conventions would be advisible.  At least, Croes, admits that tourism is not doing well.

It appears they are not as "happy" as they would have tourists believe.

On my previous job, we had applications which used redirects for data, etc. java applets/scripting.  When those redirects were not working or disabled one would get a blank page, such as what I am experiencing with these sites now.  Seems it could be something like that...a block.  Carnut or Oldfart may be able to explain it in better technical terms.

Just wanted to say that I was able to access all of Leslie's Aruba news links earlier this morning, but now seeing the same things y'all are.

Students aboard a Huntsville School Bus for Lee High School flipped off Interstate overpass 565 onto Church Street below.  High School students on their way to Drake Technical.

30+ injured with four fatalities reported so far.

Please pray for these students and their families.  Reports developing and more fatalities expected to be reported.

I think so.  It is spitting snow and the roads were icey this morning.  Bitterly cold with wind.  What our weathermen call bone-chilling cold and folks in really cold places laugh at us about.  But we go just a little crazy when it is this cold with any trace of snow or ice.

And you know how we drive on ice and snow so I do have to wonder.  Not sure how to flip a school bus like that but they are still rescue stage.  Have asked for all resuce units and ambulances from entire region to get there ASAP, etc.

Parents to go to Huntsville Hospital Cafeteria to get information.

Being a transplant from the Chicago area to southeast Louisiana, I know what you are saying about the bone chilling cold and all. They tell me that my blood has thinned after living here for 20 years, and weather that use to not seem so now seems freezing to me!
My friends and family are always amazed at the slightest freeze or spitting snow that causes road closures down here.They just dont realize that southerners are not accustomed to driving under such conditions. Not to mention the fact that up north they have the equipment to keep the road conditions much safer than we do down here.

When I lived in Illinois for five years, I could sort of drive on snow but when I moved back down here, I couldn't again.  I have wondered if it could be slicker because it is more humid here or something.

But it happened after ten so icy bridges should have melted by then. Although it is only 40 now so maybe not, don't know.

Went over the concrete railing, traveled 50 yards upside down?  Must have been going fast but if it hit ice, could have made it go faster?  Just hope no more fatalities.  This is a big thing for town the size of Huntsville and will tax the medical community to accommodate that many injuries at once.

Erlanger at Chattanooga is about two and a half hour drive and regional trauma center with of course helicopter airlift available.

No, it landed upside down.  They flipped it back to get the kids out.
Slid on its roof fifty yards so is sturdy to still be in one piece.

No seat belts here as is the case I understand in most of the country.  Still, school buses should not have wrecks as the drivers should always be going slowly and people can't miss them.  Just don't expect one to turn over, either.  That is why they have stop signs on them.  It's a law all lanes of traffic have to stop for a stopped school bus even if does not effect your side of traffic, etc.

Bridges stay colder because underneath is shaded and often a wind tunnel. (Remember all those "Bridge may ice in winter" signs?)

Possibly hit a patch of "black ice" which is really hard to see ...

You know that the inside of a school bus is not "friendly"....everything you can hit is a hard surface....I cannot understand why all the rules to protect children in cars and none in school buses... :?

As I understand it,  its more of a danger to have 72 seatbelted kids in a bus, because if it were on fire, or in danger of being underwater or some other immediate life endangering situation ,there's no way any one person could get them all undone and the kids off for safety.

Not sure if its a nation wide thing or not, but The buses up here have taller seats,  so when a child is sitting,  they can't see over the seats.  The backs are at least 4 inches thick also.  

The only seatbelts are to secure handicapped persons (wheelchairs) on a school bus or public transportation bus.  

This is such a tragedy.  My prayers are with the students and their families.

Local news says roads were clear.  Rumor the bus may have been cut off by another driver but all is speculation as they are still trying to save lives and get the students admitted to local hospitals or sent to Birmingham or Chattanooga if needed.

Fire Dept flipped the bus back over within minutes.  They could not extricate the students with it upside down.

The school bus seat belt issue has been going on for eons. Every time something happens, it's an issue. Then it goes away until the next one. I'm not sure what the status is right now; probably varies by state or maybe even school district.

I *think* I read a while back that those yellow buses really are not a good, safe design - they are quick to roll over.

Well, people still act crazy when it is cold here especially the first couple of times of the year like now.  Drive erattically even if roads are clear.  I don't know what that's about.

Right, I don't think lack of seat belts has anything to do with cost, is a safety issue and with all the lakes and rivers around here, the thought of 70 belted in kids is terrifying.

No easy answer of that one or would have been resolved long ago I guess.

Just hope the rest of the kids survive but they are saying lots of critical injuries, head and neck.

My son had to ( horror of horrors) ride the school bus a couple of times a week or so ago and he told me that they are starting to install seat belts in the busses. He said that they have the first third or so of the bus done and they are working their way back.This was a big surprise to me....

Huntsville area schools comparable to Mountain Brook, high test scores and no expense spared as they have so many from Space and Rocket Center.  Highest number of PhD's per capita in the country I have heard, but don't know if that is true but a  buncha them.  

Even the poorere districts have excellent facilities.  I don't think the issue was quality of bus at all, just one of those terrible things that happen.  Would do blood test on driver, just in case, but that's just me.

30-40 feet drop.   Drivers urged to avoid the medical district.

Huntsville has pretty good medical facilities.

You are right, we have no idea what real nasty weather is unless encountering it elsewhere.

But still when it is real cold like this, people drive real fast and crazy and do all try to get to grocery store as though we will starve to death in 48 hours.

Same deal with winter coats we wear, sweating even, because it is winter.   :roll:

Today would be balmy in much of the country but I do feel for the kids getting cold.  I think the idea it is or has been and is going to be again below freezing sets off some sort of primal instinct for safety in us.  When I lived in Illinois the idea that you could actually die from being outside was really upsetting and scary to me.  I was always afraid one of the kids would get outside and freeze to death some way or other.  

We had a real blizzard there one year and I started packing then.  

There will be a formal press conference later today.  This is the first time something of this scale has ever happened in Huntsville and tests their emergency procedures and facilities.

Interesting the Rudy Croes is saying the problems with tourism is NOT because of crime.  Then why mention crime?

After the judgment against the government of Aruba for $19 million over a race track in this country's court system, I would think they are concerned especially about their false claims of no crime, extreme safety that does not exist.

When the bus went over the concrete guardrail, it landed on the nose or front of the bus and that is where the worst injuries were found.  Then it went onto its top and skidded a long distance upside-down.

There were 44 people on the bus instead of 30+ as originally stated.

And its snowing here.  Big flurries and flakes.  Ground warm so should not stick.  No accumulation expected.

Several locations for blood drives available.  Anyone in the area or even close like Birmingham please donate if you can.

No more assistance needed as all agencies say they have plenty and do not need any more personnel.  Offers are appreciated and thanks extended.

Things seem to be calming down and going to more routine mode with the situation as well in hand as can be considering the gravity of the situation.

This is just terrible.  Such a tragedy.  CNN says they believe a small car hit the bus.  Police are looking for the car.

My heart is broken for these children and families.  I continue to pray for them.

NEW YORK — News Corp., the parent company of book publisher HarperCollins and the FOX network, has canceled publication of the O.J. Simpson book and television special "If I Did It."

"I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project," said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman. "We are sorry for any pain that this has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson."

A dozen FOX affiliates had already said they would not air the two-part sweeps month special, planned for next week before the book's publication.

Last week, Judith Regan, would-be publisher of Simpson's book, said she did not pay Simpson for the rights to publish his book, in which the one-time football superstar tells how he would have killed his ex-wife and her friend if, in fact, he had done it.

"What I do know is I didn't pay him," Regan said in an eight-page statement titled "Why I Did It" and released on Thursday. "I contracted through a third party who owns the rights, and I was told the money would go to his children. That much I could live with."

Regan also said in the statement that she wanted Simpson's "confession" because she herself was once a victim of abuse.

Simpson was acquitted of the murders in 1995, but was later found criminally liable for the deaths in civil court in 1997.

Although he was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the Goldman family, Simpson has avoided making full restitution because California law prevents his NFL pension from being seized to satisfy the judgment. His lavish residence in Florida is similarly protected under state law.

That one was the all time awful letter.  These two teens in love, etc. write this letter to say that J2K should be given money???  Yeah, that would be their primary concern in life, right????

The Arubans drooling over that trust fund money is as repulsive as any other aspect of this debacle.  I can't speak for others but the last place I want any money to go to is the ones who are responsible for this tragedy in the first place!!!  They are nuts if they think money was donated so it could end up in Aruba in the hands of those who did this and their willing accomplices in LE and governement.

My heart stopped when I heard about the school bus. I have 2 children who ride the bus, and at first the school system was not identified. I live in a suburb of Huntsville, but at one time had considered sending a gifted daughter to Lee high School. Lee has an acclaimed music and art program as well as other enrichment programs for students in the Huntsville school system. The performances the Lee Drama Dept. puts on are sold out quickly because the shows are so good. People come from all over to see them. I have friends who have children there, and I also know 2 teachers at the school. I am so saddened by the loss. It really is an awful day here in Huntsville.

I'm glad your children were not on that bus.  My prayers go out to the children and parents of those that were on the bus.  So very sad.  I think they are saying now a small vehicle may have hit the bus just prior to it going off the overpass??

There is a little red car still on the overpass that is the one believed to be involved with the school bus.  It was driven by another student at Lee High School en route to the tech school.  Some of the students with their own cars are allowed to drive themselves there and back.

And some seem to sort of race the bus there, too.  I hope this was not the case but it is possible.   :?  Theory is driver pulled back in too close in front of the bus and hit the front fender sending the bus off course.  Because a bus is so high and the tires so large, they will go over those concrete guard rails like anything.  Regular cars don't but bus or big truck will.

.I am sure this is the last thing a kid racing the bus would have in mind and this is very sad if that is what happened.  Yes, I know it would be wrong to crowd the bus, etc. but just a kid and life will be ruined because of one stupid mistake.  Yes, the lives of three others are ended by one stupid mistake as well.

And I still wonder if there is not another not expected to make it or already dead pending notification of next of kin as they said four earlier, the hospital not the police.  You'd think the hospital would know.

I was just thinking about the dignity given the victims of the bus wreck today compared with the lack of respect shown for the dead and injured in those awful photos from Aruba.  And I am proud of the manner in which a small town like Huntsville handled this today.  Everything is uncer control and was within a couple of hours as this didn't even happen until 10:15.  Fire Dept had the bus flipped upright within MINUTES.

So what is the hold up on every little thing in Aruba like doing a search?  Why does everything take so long to do absolutely nothing much.

Also a wonderful marching band.  Lee is the magnet school for music and art as you said.

It is much easier to do the right thing.  It takes a bigger expenditure of energy to do the WRONG thing deliberately.

This is so sad about the bus crash.  I heard about it on the radio.  I'm praying for the kids, the school, the families & the health care givers.

David who has been an ally and friend thru-out this entire ordeal involving Natalee said that a rival publication was about to break a story on the Chicago 24 Video and asked me if I knew anything about it. I told him that I do not have high speed Internet and was unable to view the entire video but that I had received photo's that were enhanced thru photo shop from Blonde. I advised David that I had arranged for professional examination of these pictures and the Video and that the early results of this examination were not promising. A Professor at the University of Florida who examined the data advised me that he believes the images which some people believe to be of Natalee are "Artifact" shadows of the plastic. I made it very to clear to everyone that Dave Holloway and I are very skeptical of the video and photo's because of the fact that Dave searched the area repeatedly during the first few days of June and also because of the fact that whoever posted the video has never come forward.
 
As you may or may not know this video was posted by the same person who posted the painting of the rocks video.  This is important in that I felt that a news story regarding these photo's may well help us identify this individual. In other words someone might well come forward with information.
 
Not everyone is going to agree with my decision to allow David Wright to run with the story, but, I trust him and he has always written his Natalee Holloway stories with great truth and accuracy. I challenge anyone to find a lie on any of David Wright's stories regarding this case. Please remember that we need friends like David Wright to keep the pressure on in Aruba. I agree, Anna. Huntsville performed beautifully in it's response to this horrific tragedy. I daresay every city in America would also be so careful, but kudos to Huntsville...a fair & lovely city- have been there once and was magnificently impressed with the place. The contrast with the manner in which Aruba has behaved in Natalee's case from the beginning is still revoltingly astounding. I think that is one glaring feature in Natalee's case which still rightfully causes angst and for any intelligent Aruban NOT to grasp this, is mind-boggling.  :shock:

First I have heard of the tragedy in Huntsville. That city has excellent medical facilities and services, probably the best in the whole state. It is a very techno-savvy place because of the Marshall Space Center and all the miltary. IMO it is the best city in Alabama PERIOD.

Good to hear the facilities are the best.  Those poor kids and their families.  They are in my prayers.

Yes, it was amazing to watch deVries go from SuperHero to pond scum right before our very eyes when he did not appear to be coming to what some thought the appropriate conclusion.

Will have to say Huntsville handled this as well as it could be dealt with.  The medical facilities are excellent as you state,  depends on what is wrong whether these are best or UAB but these are good for injuries like this as none had to be airlifted to Bham or Chattanooga.

Just nothing more that could be done.  Huntsville is very good to help others and when the call went out for help, they were so overwhelmed with it had to take it back.  No help needed as they had more than they could handle in no time at all and offers from not just locally but far away.

Seatbelts would have helped in this particular instance but with the Tennessee River and all the lakes, they are a hindrance if something goes off in water or in case of fire so no way to win on that issue.

And I can see the kids using the buckles as a weapon and thunking each other over the head with them which was also expressed as a concern.  

So while they would have helped and maybe even saved lives today, in other situations, they could cost them.  

No easy decision, that one.

I don't want to get too excited over the de Vries show. My feelings have grown fairly militant and i don't see how a TV show will represent the case the way i think it should be. I am encouraged that de Vries is doing the show, but what i really want to see is the KLPD take action.

According to Kawish, the de Vries show doesn't air in Aruba.  It will probably be on Youtube right after the broadcast in Holland.

i think the way to go is with electric, i calculated it, will cost an extra
100 bucks a month for the the december, january, february, and half of march and half november...

400 bucks a year

so roughly 34 bucks a month over the course of a year...

Well, it's cold here in Hot'Lanta.  38 degrees right now.  I like cool weather and bundling up in several blankies at night.  I still have my AC on - LOL.  Rarely even turn my heat on in the winter.  I'd rather be cold than hot.  When it's cold you put on more clothes.  When it's hot, I can't take enough clothes off to suit me!   :shock:  

Interesting email from Art Wood, that the preliminary report from FSU is that it is artifact in the pictures.  Very eerie coincidence to get a picture of Natalee in all of that.  I never thought she was in that bag, but those photos were very convincing.

What about having a plain old wood stove?  How much does a cord of wood cost where you are?  Open fireplaces are great but the best heat comes from a woodstove.
I have a dual energy furnace that uses electricity but switches to oil when it gets really cold or it can be switched to only electricity or only oil.  
My tips for surviving winter driving:
-keep your car fuel tank full so the fuel line doesn't freeze.
-never take your foot completely off the gas pedal to slow down - you can start fishtailing.
-buy the best snow tires you can.  We call "all season tires" - 3 season tires.
-drive slower.

All we know is what KBM claims, that Joran is back in the NL.  Take that for what it's worth.

No. You have to have everything closed. The only little pain for me is that it does not remeber the banking number card thingie passwords. Or the card numbers. I run it frequently.
Also defrag is a good thing, but sometimes it is slow, so I do it when I know for sure I am not going to be on for a while.

I have CCleaner set so it does not remove temporary files ( passwords, etc) from any sites I have passwords for including SM.  

My defrag takes forever and I run it in the middle of the night.

FWIW, I just talked to DIL who is having server problems so called one son who said, "it's a big server, that's all I can say."

How did you do this?  In the Options, the last tab on the right gives a list of things but most look like little squiggles and stars.   :oops:   Did you remove all of those except the one that says .temp or .tmp or did you just check that box at the top?  I hate to have my passwords removed as I can't remember half of them and if I write them down, I usually don't put what it is the password to so no help.  Need to de a better job of record keeping.

ANNA - When you open CCleaner, click on the Options button then on Cookies.  It's there that you can choose websites who's cookies you want to keep.  I have about 15 websites there.  You want to do this before you run CCleaner and you only have to add them once.  If you run CCleaner right now and go to that Cookies option, there won't be any websites there to choose from because you just deleted all the cookies.  Does that make sense?

The left side will be all cookies and you move to the right websites who's cookies you want to keep.  That will save your passwords for those sites.

The Internet problems seem to be going away now. I was told that Bellsouth was having problems, which explains why it was a Deep South thing that was happening. couldnt get ANYTHING to load right, or jump to another page.

I'm not surprised the photo is an artifact but it is kind of nice that it is one that does resemble Natalee and looks pretty nice for a person in a bag, etc.

The best thing is that two Tabloids have this plastered all over their front page for all the world to see at the checkout counters.  I think this will totally negate the new garishly colored Aruban ads.   :D

I have no problem with the coverage, anything to keep people from forgetting about Natalee.

I got angry today when I saw a program-infomercial on a Florida-oriented TV network about a golf resort in Aruba. They played that place up to be an absolute paradise on earth- this is a concerted effort to rebuild the island's image. More and more, they are trying to infiltrate the airwaves with propaganda.

Anna - I have three letters on my List of Things To Do this coming long weekend - when I am through with the cooking and dishes! And that NE guy is one of them. Florida Caribbean Cruise Assn. (or something like that), the other I forget off-hand but I have a draft started.

SunFreak, I heard it was UF that did that analysis, which makes sense to me because Art Wood lives in Ocala (which I did not know prior to having met him). I think that a lot more of the evidence, or quasi-evidence, that has been found so far, needs to be subjected to SOME kind of scholarly analysis in order to get it on record that certain facts about the case are true, or not.

Our morning (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) was devoted to enjoying the snorkeling provided by Octopus Sailing Cruise. Their web site spoke about the breakfast provided by Rosalie Gesterkamp. It was the perfect start to our exciting morning. It was my first time snorkeling and Jethro Gesterkamp's instructions were excellent. Actually, snorkeling is pretty easy, a very exciting way to see things underwater, and most especially, it is a lot of fun. Although Hurricane Deborah was far north, on this day the seas were pretty turbulent and there was some drinking of the sea as we were tossed around a bit at the Antillian wreck. The next site was much calmer and the fish were spectacular. There were only 16 people on the trimaran so the whole trip was very relaxing. We saw other party boats that took people snorkeling, but there were more people on these trips and although there were a number of people who were loudly having fun, there also appeared to be a number of other people who were happy to find a quiet spot from which they could enjoy their cruise. My wife and I agreed that the Octopus Sailing Cruise was more suited to what we wanted. As suggested by Jethro in his e-mail, we found a coupon at the airport which gave us $5.00 off per couple so the breakfast with ambrosias, two sites for snorkeling (including instruction and equipment), a pleasant sail about the Island, and lunch cost $70.00 per couple. We were really pleased with the way this went.

Convention and Visitor Bureau Association Continues Support

Aruba Hotel and Tourism Association:

It is with regret and disappointment that I saw Alabama Governor Bob Riley’s decision to call for a travel boycott to Aruba as a pressure tactic to hasten the Natalee Holloway investigation. I am also disappointed by similar expressions by Dr. Phil McGraw in his popular TV show.

Travel boycotts are harmful policies not only for the tourism industry, but for all world economies, creating a dangerous precedent for others in the future to haphazardly duplicate. In Aruba’s case, where 70 percent of the economy is tourism based, this suggested boycott –if extended further–would only harm thousands of law abiding tourism employees and companies that, from all accounts, have gone out of their way to assist the family and authorities in the search for the missing young lady. Fortunately, as I understand it, the U.S. State Department is not involved in this governor’s decision, and by inference, does not condone this boycott practice either.

Everyone in the world has felt empathy and sadness for this young girl’s family, and we all hope for a resolution soon. In Aruba we have seen the extraordinary efforts that even ordinary citizens have undertaken to help solve this case, including multiple volunteer search teams. I know that the Dutch and Aruban authorities continue to work faithfully with our own Federal Bureau of Investigation to find Miss Holloway.

I have read with interest several major Alabama city newspapers opposing the governor’s boycott decision, and can only hope that the people of Alabama and the United States in general, though sad about the tragic disappearance of their young compatriot, will also recognize the flawed and unreasonable rationale for this boycott issuance.

In short, please know that your peers in the destination marketing profession are sympathetic to your plight and have strong faith that Aruba will continue steadfastly with the investigation until Miss Holloway’s case is resolved, and ultimately, preserve its longstanding reputation as a safe and peaceful island.

Miles, president of Central Ohio Crime Stoppers, didn‘t immediately report the attack because he was embarrassed he didn‘t defend himself better, Nyce said. Police interviewed Miles on Monday.

Miles‘ group sued Philadelphia-area philanthropist Joe Mammana on Nov. 15, seeking up to $131,000 they said he had pledged to Crime Stoppers for information in the slaying of a college student. A 19-year-old man has been charged in the killing.

He also denied any knowledge of an attack on Miles.

Mammana has offered reward money in various high-profile crime cases in several states, as well as in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway in Aruba last year.

Oh, and one more thing. Wasn't Natalee 5'4" or thereabouts? I'm speculating in my own mind whether that could actually be Natalee in that bag, and at one point several months ago I remember doing a little experiment. I curled up into a fetal position and had my husband measure me with a measuring tape. The results were that I would fit into a trash bag (and I don't think he really needed to know that  :shock: ). I'm 5 feet tall, but weigh more than Natalee did, so it isn't impossible that she would have fit into the bag.

Yes.  I think someone else of similar stature tried it as well and found it to be entirely possible.

I'm normally a very skeptical person, but something about the clarity of the face in that bag is very spooky.

I was more iffy until I read back and saw that Sleuth had managed to do the same version of the photo a good while back. We know Sleuth and know she wouldn't do anything "funny" with the photo. I'm not implying that anyone else did, but it helps to confirm it to know that Sleuth had already come up with the same thing.

Those bag pics are such a mystery to me.  I used to post with Blonde and Faith when these pics all came about a few months ago.  I had felt it was Natalee, but now I don't think so.  I've had other conversations with people outside this forum,  they don't think its her either.  I did all the steps Blonde did, and came out with pretty much the same picture,  just not as clear.  Think about this....
The space where her head is, I believe someone measured it (bleached black maybe?)  and its 2' wide between those cement corners.  That would make the proportions all wrong.

I've watched that video until I'm blue in the face.  The movement in the bag is a fish.  The face in the bag is too clear and perfect.  I just don't think its her.  

Then again, what ta heck do I know,  I still see 7 legs in that picture of Lorenzo.  :shock:  just figured its better to stop disagreeing with lalas so she won't need to drink becuase of me! hehe

Well, that is exactly what Art Woods said the expert said it was, an artifact.  I don't have any trouble believing this because no way would an actual corpse be preserved in such a manner of detail with no discoloration or bloating, none of the classic signs of death.

Someone suggested freezing would slow down the visible signs of death but not that much.  Also after freezing, the skin is even more fragile and just touching can cause it to crack open.

Gruesome as it is to talk about, there is no way for human remains to exist in that pristine and recognizable conditions in that heat and water.  I also find the proportions all off for the size of the opening, etc.

But it is one of those things that if not a miracle, close.  I like to think it is just one more way to keep Natalee in the media and also her face looking at the suspects.  I do hope the NE is sold in Aruba at every grocery and convenience store.  If not, we just need to make sure that image is out there enough so that the ones who really need to see it do.

I read that and LOL.  He was frequently talking about his recent visits to Aruba and now we find he had not been back since his parents left there when he was quite young, because he could not afford a trip, and he states now that for reasons he is back there.  Can we say, "trip courtesy of AHATA."

We know the name under which he promotes the band which is good enough for identification purposes I think.  Art Woods seemed under the impression that they just mysteriously appeared on the internet and no one knew why or where they came from.  I don't know if that is his real name or not but it is the name he works under when promoting that band.

But if the name is good enough for contact information on a band, it should work for a source for them.  It isn't as though they are unconnected to anything for we have several of the finished product of the music set to them.  At least three on YouTube where one can easily email the one who owns the originals, etc.

Was wondering why his visit is newsworthy for that site, since there are many who have come and gone who did not get such recognition.  Makes you wonder how an attorney at 50 finally has enough $ to travel back there, his birthplace, after 30-some years.   My husband went from director of a manufacturing co, to laborer, to delivery person and we've managed, until the past couple of years to find $ to go to an island, though not Aruba.  Whatever...

We also have Ed Smith posting on the blog of a young woman from Aruba living in the Netherlands to go see the videos as sights from home, nothing sinister about them.  I don't think he would have done this if there was supposed to be anything morbid on them.  And this is on a site which seems to promote the runaway theory which would clash with anything being recovered in the videos.

What I am saying is that at no time does he caution this woman of anything amiss on the videos other than sights and the band sounds from Aruba, her home.  He is also being rather solicitous of her and would not seem to want to offend in any way.

  And he does not contradict the theory of Natalee dancing in Brazil, etc. shown on the posters the women are holding in the photos which one would think he would do if he had any reason to think or know otherwise.

I saw an 11 day cruise starting at $699 on VacationsToGo newsletter.  The ones that have Aruba listed as a stop over have become much cheaper than the rest of them without it.  But the trick is to go there, you usually have to leave from Puerto Rico as it seems no longer a popular destination for cruises leaving from mainland US ports.

So CharlieRat has never been able to scrape together or even make payments on $700 in his life and he is an attorney.

Problems at Watts Bar

Schools in Meigs County, Tennessee are dismissing early at 9 a-m Tuesday because of an event at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.

We are still learning more about what's happened there.

Gil Francis, with TVA told us moments ago that there was a "minor problem" at the plant this morning.

Francis says his office did not tell Meigs County Schools to dismiss early. Francis said any evacuations would have to be issued by the state and that has not happened this morning.

School buses will be taking the children home at 9 a-m.

We've got a crew on the way to Meigs County this morning, and we'll have more information for you as soon as we get it.

"Unusual Event" Declared at Watts Bar

TVA sent out a brief alert for Watts Bar Nuclear Plant this morning. According to TVA spokesperson Gil Francis, an "unusual event" was declared at 6:15am. TVA workers investigated a suspected leak in a cooling system. No leak was found and the event ended at 7:35am. The plant is offline right now for refueling.

Because of the situation, Meigs County officials decided to close schools early today at 9am. We'll have more details on this developing situation as information becomes available.

Victor/Lazlo (a woman) has posted primarily on RU and FOB.  I gather that Victor/Lazlo is in the Netherlands.  When the topic of a show by De Vries came up Victor/Lazlo contacted the show in an attempt to send information to the show about Beth and her lies, etc.

Victor/Lazlo started corresponding regularly with someone from the show and posted that it appeared De Vries thought Joran was guilty.

I get the impression Victor/Lazlo wants the truth whatever that may be.  I interpret what she posted today as NOT good news for the Van Der Sloots.  I could be wrong.

Yes, you'd think!  I worry about our kids.  I see school buses speeding on two lane mountain curvey roads sometimes, too.  And the fights on buses these days are bad as well.

That is one thing about seat belts that would worry me.  I can just see one using them to choke or thunking others on the head with the buckles.  

We need to be rearing children that are more civilized but who wants theirs to be the only one who is for then the less civilized ones just beat the snot out of them so go figure.

I was very surprised he was going to air this soon for we were told two more months originally but this says to me that he already has found enough to do a show.  Maybe we can encourage more later by viewing his and sending comments and hits to his site, etc. so that he will feel it worthwhile to do more?

IMO the problem is that there are so many parents today who do not take the responsibility of rearing their children.  They expect someone else to do it - like the school systems.  And also there are alot of parents who do not take the time to listen to their children or spend time with them.  It starts from the beginning in taking time and building respect for each other.  So many children just don't know how to act because they haven't been taught otherwise.

According to Beth there is NO blonde blue eyed Dutch boy/man that Natalee was involved with.  I'm sure there are a number of blue eyed blonde Dutch guys living in Aruba though.

Well, it is good that somebody could open some eyes about a few things.  So why do you suppose it was deleted?  Must be something Anita would not like is what I think.

If it were something bad about Natalee or Beth, they would put it in bold type on the front page.

I have always thought the ran away theory just about the weakest of them all for by most measures, Natalee was a young adult or soon would be and so could do that legally.   If she wanted to run away, well, no one would do that on a tiny little island when they live in a huge country on one of the largest continents in the world.

I am trying to think what could be shocking about Natalee or the MB kids but think everything along those lines that is reasonable and then some has already been suggested in just those very quarters.  There is not much left short of cannibalism that would be a new slam against them. :?

I'm not sure, we may be able to watch on the internet but will probably be in Dutch.  Hopefully it will have English subtitiles.  I've also heard it's likely to be on YouTube soon after the show airs.

In the above summary, does it seem like DeVries is pretty suspicious of the prime suspects?  And I mean, all of them....smarmy judge included.  He seems to indicate the story has received some attention in Holland despite the attempts of others to reassure us this is not so.

I think so.  I think it sounds as if he thinks it's odd that these guys were released due to lack of evidence.  But I'm biased, so I'm reading that into it.  I wish I knew what his comment about Paulus being "stuck" meant.  Maybe Klaas, with all her experience, could give us a more accurate translation in this context.

Remember Joran has anger behavor problems and perhaps he learned something more on this proving Joran has a pattern of these kinds of uncontrollable acts.

I am sure no one closely involved(Sloots,Kalpoes ect) in this case came forward to report anything to De Vries. On the cannibalism statement....I know that there is a religion practiced that has sacrificial rituals at a certain time of year(ie festival) and it was said to me awhile back that they eat the vital organs of a virgin. I agree that this is what I would ultimately like to see happen to Joran.  But at this point Joran is above the law.  Which brings to mind what Nelson Oduber said in an interview that no one is above the law.  I took this to mean that even a judge in trainings son would be prosecuted.  I guess we all saw who was above the law.  I cringe ever time I see that man hugging Beth.
