Hello to all monkeys!

I'm trying to get caught-up and coming out of lurking for a minute as the part of the news report below, which I’ve highlighted in red, just doesn’t seem to add up.  Esp. considering that Bozo supposedly graduated way in the bottom of his class and supposedly took so long to pass the bar exam.  I’m not saying that any of what is printed is untrue.  I’m just questioning some things and would appreciate more information from someone who has military knowledge.

(Casey Anthony Case: Special report on José Baez: First of 2 parts
Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, rejected by Florida Bar on first try
TOMORROW: Becoming Casey Anthony's lawyer has brought José Baez celebrity — and controversy.)

He married at 17, became a father, earned a GED diploma and joined the Navy in 1986.

According to his résumé, Baez spent three years assigned to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Norfolk, Va., trained as an intelligence analyst with what he described as a "Cosmic Top Secret" security clearance.
He left active duty in May 1989 as a yeoman seaman, a rank associated with administrative duties, and then served in the U.S. Navy Reserve, according to the National Archives and Records Administration
                             *********************

I don't question NPRC stating that he left as a Yeoman Seaman, which is a rank associated with administrative duties, nor he serving in the US Navy Reserve, as I believe all ranks of the military require a minimum of eight years active/reserve duty.

What I question is his resume.  Again, I'm not saying that it's false.  But, if you do research regarding Naval intelligence analysts, it just doesn't fit what we've heard about and seen from Bozo himself.  Also, why just three years of active duty instead of four?  And why just a Yeoman Seaman and not an officer.  And, if he was a Naval intelligence analyst, why wasn't he called-up during the Persian Gulf War of 1990-91 like most other specialists who were called out of reserve duty?

Below are links I've bookmarked trying to find any answers.

Cosmic Top Secret (highest security clearance that NATO possess)

If, in fact, Bozo is claiming to be something he wasn't in the Navy, there are stringent Federal laws that could cost him more than his practice.

What are your thoughts about all of this?
(Sorry this is so long.  Back to catching-up and lurking)

He was a lowest ranking Navy pen pusher.
His Security clearance comes with the territory.

In my opinion, I think Baez's " picked upon because I'm Hispanic" mantra will backfire.  Hispanics will not appreciate that and can see right through it.  It's insulting.

I agree, I think it is very insulting.

Wonder if he is like Geraldo and NOT Hispanic at all?  Geraldo has made his name by pretending to be Hispanic.............His real name is Jerry Rivers and he was not/is not Hispanic at all. That was a ploy to use affirmative action to get into to TV.

I thought he was Puerto Rican

I found this info on Geraldo.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0729273/bio

His real name is Geraldo...

I remember reading this on snopes.com a while back... It is just a rumor that he was Jerry Rivers...

http://www.snopes.com/media/celebrity/geraldo.asp

Geraldo back in the days of the OJ trial on At Large said he was half Puerto Rican and half Jewish...to me he's just half-@$$ed regardless of heritage!

If your  mother is Jewish you are Jewish. It is by Matrilineal descent
That is how it works.

I expect him to try to move the trial to Miami, with a larger Hispanic jury pool.

Yeah, but after what she's done to Zenaida's life, so you think the HIspanics will be sympathic to her?
That would not be a good move.  The hispanic culture as a whole is very family driven and family oriented, many are Catholic too, and they will not take lightly to the actions portrayed by Casey after her daughter went missing, or for that fact the choice she made in lying and trying to point the finger at a hispanic person.  Kio's statement that Cindy did not like hispanic people will not sit lightly with many either, and may sway them from giving her any sort of credibility.

Being Hispanic i can say the hispanic community would be outraged and will crucify c.a. This isnt really a racial thing, no matter what baez will lose the case and c.a will fry. jmo sl

Dr Baden - Pathologist is supposedly still on Casey's dream team.
What was the name of the other pathologist that Nancy got so mad at- he was honest until he was hired by Baez, then he started making all kind of pitiful excuses to disprove the evidence.  Dr Kobalinski or something like that? Where has he got to lately?

I question his claim of military...was he discharged for some reason if he was military?? 3 years?? SO why was Butface only in for 3?? a dishonorable comes to mind for him to be umm sugar coating.. I admit, I did not know every department when we were there but from 90 to begin 99 we were in yep,you guessed it,Norfolk and I never heard of North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Norfolk, Va.. I am going to have to speak to some military members still in Norfolk to see what I can find out....Navy members at that.. will let you know what I find out... Oh and a Seaman is a new recruit... My kids father went in as a seaman and when he got out was a petty officer.IIRC they start out as seaman fresh out of boot.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't there a time when the naval reserves had to spend three years on active duty. I was married to a Seabee and he had spent three active years in California before we got married. Am I mistaken about that???

My sister was in the naval reserves for 15 years, while working full-time. She was allowed to complete her active duty requirement by working for the Navy over the weekend and during prearranged 2-week stints from work.

IIRC my ex had decided to go ahead and do active duty so he would not be required to the the weekend and the 2 week stints. But that was before we were married and he was already finished.. Just what I can remember.

In reading about "Cosmic Top Secret" I just don't think that it ring true for Bozo. JMO

Hi Muffy. That picture with Granpa Plesea always makes me sad and cry for Caylee and the old gentleman.

Having dealt with a stroke patient I cannot even fathom what he feels like and how confused and upset he must be. The great-grandparents have always had my utmost sympathy.

Good afternoon monks and JSM.  IMO The pic is bittersweet, showing the love of Caylee and her Grandpa Plesea at a happy time.  And there will be no more happy times for them to be together.
[/quote] I know Muffy. It makes me feel better he saw her on what was probably her last day on earth. I always thought how sweet she crawled into his lap and cuddled with him. Most little kids would have been frightened, but it is almost like Caylee knew she was safe in his arms. IDK, I hope that makes sense. JSM
