Seeking Justice for Caylee

« Reply #520 on: November 09, 2009, 10:48:33 PM »

When we were at the vet this morning (hubby went with me) the doc was really sick - coughing and couldn't hardly talk.   I kept thinking "oh great, I going to spend all this money to get sick".      That doc really should have called in sick.    I hope it wasn't the swine flu.
I hope he doesn't either did you go home and wash your face and hands with clorox  All kidding aside you are right he should have stayed home, I hope your brother is coming along and being careful where he goes and what he does.

Sassy, hope your cats are doing good  an angelic monkey

Hi NoRose.  Thanks.   Baby hasn't sneezed since she got her shot this morning.   Doc is going to try putting her on an different antibiotic (taken daily) the next time the URI comes back.   Also, we are going to watch Sassy's tumor and see if it grows, then decide what to do.  Right now, it is really small - smaller than a pea.

Tevye - I hope you are doing ok
Thanks, Mission (and NoRoseCG) I'm doing fine. I saw chemo doc today, start it on Friday. Then radiation, then hormones. It sounds beatable, but what choice do I have? I have so much to do, I just don't have time to die yet. Sure hope God is good with that!

Tomorrow night after class, I'll be decorating my Christmas tree! I'm so darn glad to not be scared anymore, I feel great! Oh, and I saw a catalog of scarves and wigs (didja know they make just bang wigs? I want one!) They have lots of cool scarves, like Izze on "Grey's Anatomy". Ever looking for the positive, I'm excited to have tons of cool scarves, many of which I'll probably make myself. Good excuse to go to Joanne's!

Hubby is doing well with all of this, so life is good. Oh, and by tomorrow morning, I will have finished the last "late" paper I have to do! Next week I can go back to the jail...can't wait!

Bad news is that I'm addicted to FarmTown!

Oh God, you should have seen us.   As soon as we got in the car, we were fighting over the bottle of hand sanitizer that I keep in my car.   Then when we got back to the house, we both scrubbed down and I even changed my shirt.
Seriously, the doctor was that ill.

My brother has so many doctor visits going on - I hope he doesn't get it.
He had to retire - so at least he's not working anymore.

Tevye - God is definitely ok with it - he put alot on your plate - he is testing you and knows you will win.  I work with a gal who has undergone breast cancer treatments very much the same as yours - mastectomy, chemo, radiation and now she his taking a hormone treatment for one year - she says her doctors have given her the thumbs up and things are looking good after a road to hoe.  I see her everyday and think about you - you too shall win.

Funny but she had considered the bang only wig - she showed me pics of them and they are really neat - I would think they would be more comfortable as well and scarves are the big thing these days.  Your courage is amazing although I am sure you have your moments your ability to stay witty with humor is a good thing.  Good news is you have us to lean on whether you are up or down - always remember that.  Farm town huh?  Not a bad addiction. Keep up the good work in getting through each day the best you can.....pay backs are hell and cancer will be sorry it ever crossed your path.   an angelic monkey

I hope he improves and all goes well - prolly a good thing he is out of the workplace with all the flu worries, sometimes it is the worst place to be with all the germs.

Heading to bed Monkeys I hope everyone sleeps well.  an angelic monkey

JSM, NORTHERN ROSE wanted me to pass this along to you.

Please pass along to JSM that last nights Battle of the Blades is online.  It had me in tears and laughing and is a great 45 minutes.  The guest judge was Katarina Witt, who was not shy about saying what was on her mind and she made passes at the hockey players. The first routine from Claude Lemieux and Shae-Lynn had me in tears as Claude sang the version of Hallelujah they skated to.  The link to watch online is.

Goll darn Canucks! They won't share with the US!! Just because we refer to them as "American's Hat", does that make it fair that we have to live in Canada to watch "their" web? Should we remind them who invented the web????? (I love watching skating!)

Al Gore, right?

Just to make sure you're blood pressure is working this am:

Fort Hood Suspect Warned of Muslim Threat Within Military

Foxnews ^ | 11/10/2009 | Staff

The Army psychiatrist suspected of killing 13 people at Fort Hood reportedly warned senior Army physicians in 2007 that the military should allow Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors instead of fighting in wars to avoid "adverse events."

According to The Washington Post, Major Nidal Malik Hasan was supposed to make a presentation on a medical topic during his senior year as a psychiatric resident at Walter Reed Medical Center.

Instead, Hasan lectured his supervisors and two dozen mental health staff members on Islam, homicide bombings and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting against other Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A source who attended the presentation told the paper, "It was really strange. The senior doctors looked really upset."

The Powerpoint, entitled, "The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the U.S. Military," consisted of 50 slides, according to a copy obtained by the Post.

"It's getting harder and harder for Muslims in the service to morally justify being in a military that seems constantly engaged against fellow Muslims," Hasan said in the presentation.

Under a slide titled "Comments," he wrote: "If Muslim groups can convince Muslims that they are fighting for God against injustices of the 'infidels'; ie: enemies of Islam, then Muslims can become a potent adversary ie: suicide bombing, etc." [sic]

The last bullet point on that page reads simply: "We love death more then [sic] you love life!"
