I believe that the FBI saw blood somewhere or they would
not have reported it to Beth.  I just think that the blood
was made to disappear, like much of the other evidence.
I also believe that Joran confessed right at that same time.

Julia Renfroe to the AL news

Tuesday, Dec 18, 2007 - 11:57 PM Updated: 12:12 AM

By Chris Pollone

ORANJESTAD, Aruba- Authorities in Aruba say they have closed the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, adding that the Kalpoe brothers and Joran van der Sloot will not be charged.

A spokeswoman for Natalee's mother Beth Holloway says she is "terribly disappointed" that the case was closed. Prosecutors say they still believe the three men are involved in the disappearance, but cannot prove a crime was committed because Natalee's body was never recovered.

Many had suspected Aruban prosecutors would close the case by the end of the year, but "Aruba Today" Editor in Chief, Julia Renfro, says that expectation didn't blunt the reality that the decision has officially been made.

"It's surprising to everybody because so much has been said about these three main suspects," Renfro tells NBC13 HD news. "But the bottom line is the prosecutor's office announced they do not have enough evidence to bring this to trial."

Renfro says the news is a blow not only to friends and family of Natalee Holloway, but also to people in Aruba who believe in the criminal justice system there, and had hoped the island's most notorious crime would be solved.

"To come two and a half years later to find there's not much more than we know today, that we knew two years ago, that's devastating," says Renfro.

It's a sentiment shared by many in Natalee's home town of Mountain Brook. Natalee's high school dance teammate Cameron Perry hopes one day the Holloway family gets justice. Right now, she's can't be sure that will happen.

"It's kind of upsetting," Perry says. "But I guess you could see it coming because it's been dragged out for so long and right at the beginning it seems like it would hinder the case."

Meanwhile in the waters off Aruba, the underwater sonar search for any clues in Natalee's disappearance continues. Searchers tell NBC13 HD news that closing the case will not stop their efforts. In fact, should they find some new, compelling evidence, the case of Natalee Holloway can be re-opened.

Maybe this has already been addressed and answered but I haven't kept up with all the posts the past couple of weeks.

Is the ocean search taking place in international waters or is it in Aruba's waters?

Good Morning Monkeys..

This latest turn of events has me so upset, I couldn't even post yesterday.  It deeply saddens me and pisses me off beyond words.  Just when I though Aruba couldn't dig a deeper hole for themselves.  It is disgusting.

My prayers are with the Persistance and I pray they will find Natalee and bring her home.

Prayers going up for Peaches too....Hang in there girl!  I pray for good news in that scan!!!(((((hugs))))

As far as I know, they have not been that specific, with the actual search area.

Aruban...IF they search where they say they are  Wink
3-5 miles out is Aruban
I think it is something like 12 miles out that turns international...maybe not exact.

Monkeys,
The persistence might be our last and only chance to bring our beloved Natalee home.

Pray when you are in line shopping, in traffic, baking, or cooking, pray when you are on hold, pray at night before you sleep, pray when you wake up and hit the snooze button , stop in any church light a candle or whatever you know to do to appeal to God and/or the positive forces of the universe, to help Natalee get back home.

We are Natalee's Tinman, Scarecrow, Lion and REAL Glenda, we have to do everything and anything to bring her back home.

When times get really tough the easy thing, the almost natural thing to do is to give up and not believe, but now is the time that we have to believe and work beyond all hope.
We have to do whatever it takes to motivate and inspire ourselves to believe with all our might.
Now is the time we can really help our beloved friends Natalee, Beth, Matt, Dave and the Persistence to bring our Natalee home.

I appeal to my beloved Monkey's to have an open mind with this one and to please do it for Natalee.
Place a pair of scissors on a window sill, pointing in the direction of Aruba.  If you are in Aruba then point them in the direction Natalee was last seen being driven away.
This is an old Pennsylvania German thing.  I know that it has worked to return a loved one home in the only 2 times I've heard it used. The first time it worked was the first time that I heard about it, the second time it worked for one of our own beloved Monkeys.

There are so many of us who want Natalee to come home. The more of us that do everything and anything then we can help all of us to bring her home!

This is a very religious, magical and enchanting time of year.

Aruba Drops Holloway Case

Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007 By AP/MARGARET WEVER

(ORANJESTAD, Aruba)—Prosecutors dismissed the case against the three main suspects in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, saying Tuesday they still believe they were involved in her death but can't prove it after 932 days of searching failed to turn up a body.

The three young men were re-arrested last month after prosecutors in Aruba discovered online chat sessions they hoped would break the case open. But none of the men talked in custody, and without the 18-year-old's body, prosecutors said they had no recourse but to halt the most notorious missing persons case in the Caribbean.

If the three suspects were put on trial, the lack of evidence "would lead to an acquittal," the Public Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.

Moving Holloway into the cold-case files "is a tough burden to bear" for her parents, they acknowledged, but the prosecutors said they had little choice.

"The public prosecutor's office and the police have gone the extra mile and have exhausted all their powers and techniques in order to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the girl," the statement read.

Detectives are assigned to review any new information that surfaces in the case, said John Pauly, a communications consultant for the prosecutor's office, in an e-mail sent after the announcement. {{Edit:  Whoa!  I missed this.  So Mr. AHATA now speaks for the Prosecution???  When did that happen?  Hasn't this man been linked to pornography?  Oh, that's right, that's not illegal in Aruba.}}

"There are detectives assigned to it to review new information and evidence that might come in," the e-mail said. Pauly could not be reached to elaborate.

Holloway disappeared on May 30, 2005, the last night of a trip with members of her Mountain Brook, Ala., high school graduating class. She was last seen leaving a bar with the three suspects: Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, who all lived on this Dutch island off the coast of Venezuela.

Holloway's parents, who divorced years before her disappearance, have pushed hard to find what happened to their daughter — and Americans have followed every development.

Police, soldiers and hundreds of volunteers combed hillsides and beaches of this 75-square-mile island. Investigators partially drained a pond. Divers searched the sea bed offshore. Dutch F-16 jets equipped with search equipment conducted overflights. Dogs sniffed for a body.

Investigators interviewed hundreds of potential witnesses and arrested — and re-arrested — several suspects.

At times, it seemed Aruba itself was on trial, as some U.S. politicians and journalists assailed its ability to investigate the case. {{And appears they were so correct to do so!}}

Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty, is "terribly disappointed" with Tuesday's decision, her spokeswoman said.

"She was very hopeful the last couple weeks and she went down there and met with the prosecutor," Sunny Tillman told The Associated Press. "He told her face-to-face that he had new and incriminating evidence, and that made her hopeful." {{Then Rudy Croes told him to make it disappear just like the blood in the car}}

But the prosecutors' transcripts of the suspects' online chats "didn't have any incriminating points," according to David Kock, an attorney for the Kalpoe brothers. The lawyer said it was fanciful to think of the chats as damning.

"It's like trying to say the Loch Ness monster exists," Kock told the AP.

The prosecutors said they believe van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers were involved in Holloway's disappearance. An attorney for van der Sloot said it is unfair for them to say so without filing charges.

"Give this kid his due," attorney Joseph Tacopina said. "He's been incarcerated twice falsely. They've investigated up and down everything in his life."

Van der Sloot, who was re-arrested last month in the Netherlands where he attends college and held for several days, was in Aruba on Tuesday enjoying "a celebratory family event," Tacopina said.

The case was marked by confusion from the start.

The three main suspects first said they dropped Holloway off at her hotel. Two security guards who worked nearby were quickly arrested and then released. After hotel security cameras didn't show a dropoff, van der Sloot said he left her alone on a beach but had no idea how she disappeared.

Prosecutors said the case could still be reactivated if "serious" new evidence emerges. {{Who decides if it is seriouos?  Paulus, maybe?}}The statute of limitations is six years for involuntary manslaughter and 12 for homicide. {{Every article I read has shorter sentences and time frames!  Soon they are going to be down to six months for first degree murder!!!  But it just proves they make up their laws as they go along or they are so poorly written that there is no solid foundation anywhere in them.}}

Tillman said that possibility leaves a glimmer of hope for the Holloway family, which is now awaiting a deep-water search by a Texas-based private group. Few expect the search to turn up anything.

Associated Press writers Desiree Hunter in Montgomery, Ala., and Michael Melia in San Juan, Puerto Rico, contributed to this report.

Suspects Holloway not prosecuted

ORANJESTAD – The Public Prosecutor (OM) decided not to prosecute the three suspects in the Holloway-case.  The dossier does not have enough evidence for a violent crime or culpable homicide.  Also the burden of proof for possible legal evidence is not sufficient, concluded the OM.

The OM informed the suspects Joran van der Sloot (20) and the brothers Deepak (24) and Satish Kalpoe (21) this morning that they are no longer being prosecuted.  Also the American lawyer of the parents of Natalee Holloway was informed.  The fact that the body of the missing teenager was never found is for the OM ‘an important shortage’ in the possible reconstruction of what had exactly happened.  “Because of that, the current dossier cannot give sufficient answer on the question which punishable facts took place in the night of Holloway’s disappearance, nor can it answer the question what the exact role of the suspects was in this”, said the OM.

That the suspects continued to be silent during the recent interrogations was also a disappointment for the OM, because they have assumed that the suspects would start talking this time.  The OM emphasizes though that if they find new important evidence, the prosecution will start again till the offences become barred, which is 6 years for culpable homicide and 12 years for manslaughter.

The bailiff of the OM informed Lawyer Ariean de Bie of this between 11:00 and 12:00 this morning.  “That definitely concludes the case", said De Bie.  “All's well that ends well.  There was just not enough evidence.”

Yet, it could have just turned the other way.  “The OM was constantly talking about less serious facts, for which they could have been prosecuted.  But that didn’t happen.  They never had any evidence, just indications.  And could their indications have legalized this exercise? I wonder why they kept saying: we have evidence, we have evidence.”

Hans promised JQK he could see the whole case file.

I will translate for you:  We have the case file so scrubbed now that we can let JQK see it even.  It took us two years to get all the incriminating stuff out of it as we are very slow readers and have to use our finger to keep our place and move our lips when we read but we finally have it completed.
