Yes  they both were.  I don't know when I started crying while Linda was closing but found myself sobbing when she was through!  I dont know how it could take more than a few hours for the jury after that close.

Dear Lord, please guide over this jury and help them to come to the right decision.Let there be justice for Caylee here on earth as there will be in eternity.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony murder trial told jurors they kept their promises, alluding to defense claims that never materialized.

Prosecutors also said it is "absurd" to think her 2-year-old daughter drowned or that Casey's father, George Anthony, covered up Caylee Marie Anthony's death to make it look like murder.

Monday marks day 46, including jury selection, in Casey's trial. She's accused of killing Caylee.

I don't think that one is a mistrial, but an overturning of a Death Penalty sentence. That is why he's reserving it.

Ask yourself "who's life was better"?  Says it all! I loved Linda's passion, her heart, she was very compelling using Casey's own words to show why she murdered Caylee.  Brilliant! Combined truth, passion and factual information. And there you go, Motive.  Love this team!  God bless them all for their hard work!

ORLANDO, Fla. — Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony murder trial told jurors they kept their promises, alluding to defense claims that never materialized.

Lead prosecutor Linda Drane Burdick told the jurors during the rebuttal closing argument thir morning, in court proceedings that didn't stop for the July Fourth holiday weekend, that she and her colleagues backed up every claim they made in their opening statement six weeks ago. Without saying it, she was pointing out to the jury that the defense never directly backed up its opening statement claim that Anthony's 2-year-old daughter Caylee drowned and that Anthony's father made the death look like a murder.

Zoo, it's not a mistrial (I dont' believe) I think it's an overturn of a DP sentence. I believe. And that is why he's waiting for a verdict to rule.

Linda was absolutely amazing! If the jurors had any doubt from all the nonsense Bozo said she cleared it up. Jeff was brilliant in making the jury understand they do not have to agree with the way she was killed but just that she was killed. That was great, I was thinking maybe lesser charge, but I now feel she will be found guilty of first degree murder.

That is not significant even if it goes to the USSC the prior convictions will not be grandfathered to include this. The USSC has ruled on numerous occasions that the DP is Constitutional. That will not change because some appellate court said so.

That tattoo will look rather ironic in the confines of miserable prison life.

I hope they come back within the hour with guilty on all accounts....Come on Jury, get er done..

The jury does not have to be unanimous as to how they get to 1st degree, it can be either premeditated or felony murder (or both)

She goes to DP phase on 1st degree conviction (felony or premeditated/combination), in that phase the jury does not have to be unanimous but the majority.  Although while true the judge can set aside the recommendation, I doubt he will upgrade if they say LWOP but it is my belief that if they come back with a recommendation of death that CJBP will honor their majority decision.

I think she will be convicted of 1st degree felony murder and will get LWOP.  I really don't think she'll get the dp.  I'm not sure I could vote for the dp in this case even though I'm a dp proponent.

Yes, it does but they participated as honorably.  If a juror for some reason needs to be dismissed, their importance becomes as relevant as we saw in the Scott Peterson case which had 3 jurors removed.

When Linda stated the facts of the case, KC mouthed..."That's not TRUE," as if KC would know anything about truth...her and the truth are "imaginary friends."

I really wonder if she still thinks she is walking outta the court with with her boys by her side?? Or does she realize she is going to prison for a long long long time? I agree, too.  As 378th juror, I say "Murder in the 1st Degree" because it was proven that Casey did the searches for "chloroform" and for "neck breaking."  Although Chloroform might have been used to put to sleep, there is no doubt that Neck Breaking would be PERMANENT harm to another. 

Cap...Yuri impressed me so because it was so obvious that he truly cared about Caylee. He is so obviously intelligent , honest and sincere. That he is easy on the eyes is just a plus...yep...his wife is one lucky lady as are any children he has or will have..jmo

Sunny, I wondered that too. I am pretty sure Bozo told her he's getting her off. And while I think she's worried, I think she's hanging onto his promise. Just my thoughts. I certainly don't know this for sure.

is there a certain amount of time the jury has to deliberate? What if they go back there for 30 minutes and come back with a verdict can the say no deliberate more? Can they throw out the verdict because the jury did not take a lot of time? I am just wondering if it is short will Bozo the jury was tainted and did not look at the evidence long enough

Big Bertha is why I want LWOP in general population and not DP. DP is too good for her.

My reason for not voting for the DP would be ONLY because it takes so long with all the appeals and I really want her to spend her entire life in jail. I also want her in the general population where she will be a nothing.

Me too Turbo...I don't want her to even have her execution date to look forward to as her way "out" of there.... I want her to wake up everyday in that place and realize when she opens her eyes exactly where she is and why and know that she will only leave when the Good Lord decides it is time for  her to leave this earth...then HE can deal with her...and HE will !

Although I would love to see them quickly arrive at a verdict, I would guess that they won't. Even if they are all in agreement at the outset, they will feel obligated to sort through mountains of "stuff" to discuss. I'm awfully afraid that this could stretch out for several days.

Too little to late Mason, once again.  No one requested that the jurors could not use their notes.  This dt is soooooo sad, in many ways.

Per WFTV Live Blog, the normal work hours are 9-5 for the court house.  Is that the only time frame that the jury can deliberate OR are they allow to go until midnight if they want to?

OMG, I had to go to the Fourth of July Parade and missed Linda's closing.  I will catch up...The Honorable Judge Perry just dismissed the jury...I'm on tenterhooks, butterflies in my tummy, it's really happening...After three years, I can't believe that we are going to have some sort of closure...Thank you, all of you monkeys, this has been an incredible experience, sharing it with all of you, your wit and compassion and eloquence, is overwhelming.  My sincere gratitude for what you have brought to Caylee's Justice.   ::MonkeyGavel::

The jury has the ability to do their deliberations as long as they choose. They are not stopped and told to go to their hotel.

What if the jury reaches a verdict tonight? Will they inform everyone and hold court tonight or tomorrow morning?

I'm torn on the DP vs. LWOP possibilities. I have no doubt that KC will be found guilty, it's her punishment that eats at me. Part of me hopes she gets the DP because she only cares about herself and will never admit, let alone feel any remorse for killing Caylee and destroying her family. With LWOP she may adapt and do very well, but I do wonder if the women she'll be incarcerated with will hate her for what she did to her child. Not all those serving time have committed such heinous crimes and many would never hurt a child, let alone their own. I suspect many women in prison have children that they would give anything to be with...so, maybe they'll hate her the way we do, take action to deal out a DP sentence she escaped...I just want the spiteful bitch to pay!

I watched pretty much the entire proceedings...  from the day it hit the news til the day of conviction (or aquittal, in OJ's case)... for OJ, David Westerfield, Scott Peterson, and now Casey Anthony.  It's really fascinating to watch American Justice in action (though I still maintain OJ is guilty as hell!)  Some cases just really pull you in!

I just cant understand why none were there for Caylee that is so heartbreaking its made me cry many a nights thinking about this family. Seems once out of sight out of mind with them.

Caylee so reminded me of my own granddaughter at that age.  The singing, the dancing, the question of papa about how he was feeling. Concerned for that old papa breaks my heart still.

Praying for God to guide the jurors in their decisions today. Caylee deserves JUSTICE.

I'm with you on the DP vs. LWOP thing. I'm not a big DP supporter, and I agree with those who have said they'd rather she suffered in general population for the rest of her life. However, having worked with juvenile offenders for many years, I know from experience that the majority of them are easily manipulated, and we all know that KC is nothing if not a master-manipulator. I don't know... I believe that one way or the other this evil person will serve life with no possibility of clubbing, drinking, partying, etc., etc. Hopefully, before long we will think about her about as often as we think about Scott What's-His-Name...

BooHoo! I have to leave for the day. I'll miss the verdict if there is one today. I'm going to try and beg my host to let me get on their computer every now and then or check on HLN. The prosecutors from Zahra are prolly watching and learning from this case before picking up the father.  Can't wait to see him fry either.  I really love people and hat to see people die but I put myself there with little Zahra and know without a shadow of  doube, I would have killed the father and stepmom before letting them kill her.  Too bad I did not live next door.  So, the death penalty seems too humane for some of these killers.

I think for each of us there are certain things in certain cases that just grabs our heartstrings and we can not stop ourselves, so saying this will be the last case for some, yes I think you mean it til the next case that grabs the heart strings hits us. and as long as there are human's there will be more cases of mothers, boyfriends, husbands who kill their young for no reason. Why cant these people just give the child up for adoption it just doesnt make sense to me. I was blessed with only one child and he was my world and still is 27 yrs later. I was also a single mom and never met a guy that was worth me getting rid of my child for. never saw hanging with friends worth getting rid of him, I just dont understand how anyone can do these things.

I was surprisingly impressed by the Linda's closing arguments.  Her projection of her voice was crisp and clear, and her statements were effective, as were her pauses. Her closing was sharp, crisp and clear as a bell.  A child of ten could understand her rebuttal. If the jurors could not comprehend the computer searches, and the scientific issues, she put on a excellent case of show and tell.   ::CowboySmiley::

The guilty verdict will come back July 7th as that is the third day - (day of completion) THREE, and SEVEN, the most sacred numbers in the Bible. The word FINISHED is also connected with the number SEVEN and this will finally be over and Justice for Caylee will be complete.

I think Mr. Ashton and Ms. Drane Burdick were magnificent.

HlN mentioned a while ago that one of the jurors that always wore sneakers was dressed in heels and a jacket today.  Another man who always wore a shirt and jacket added a tie today.  I am heartened by this and believe the jurors realize how important their duties are andnwill take their responsibility very seriously.

I know I did when I was a juror.

Feel very moved today because although I hope justice will be done, Caylee lost everything. ::MonkeyTears::

I'm watching Linda's rebuttal on youtube and I'm at the part where she is talking about the trash bag being placed in the trunk as a decoy. I notice Casey starts shaking her head. Clears she is po'd cus this prosecutor isn't on her side and is pretty much knocking it out of the ball park with her rebuttal. I can't help but think is Casey shaking her head out of disgust or is she shaking her head because Linda isn't telling the story right at this point. I hope all the people tarnished by the murderer can now find some peace in their lives.  The prosecution has kept Caylee front and center in this entire trial and were the perfect voice for that dear child. 

Oh and he got down on one knee to her level.  WOW!  If she wouldn't lower her chair to the floor then he would already be at her level.

4 hours...after all that evidence and months of trial...I had forgotten the jury came back that quickly. What I do remember is...I was working at a small college and when the jury came back, all teachers were instructed to release students from class. Every available TV on campus was turned on...I was in the student center, with hundreds of students and many other faculty members, when "not guilty" was read there was a collective gasp and then stunned silence...I recall several in the crowd had tears and said this is such a huge setback for domestic violence victims....

my guess is that they won't.  I suppose it depends how deliberations are conducted.  If a vote is taken immediately and it is unanimous is the only way I see that happening.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- Jose Baez will face no disciplinary action from the Florida Bar for his jailhouse incident with client Casey Anthony .

According to published reports, Baez was under investigation from the Bar. But spokesperson Susannah Lyle said that hugs are permitted by their rules between attorney and client as long as the client does not object.

According to Lyle, a Bar Association rule must be broken in order for there to be an investigation. At this point there is no Florida Bar investigation into the incidents.

Jail officials said Casey Anthony and her defense attorney, Jose Baez, were seen hugging on two separate occasions and were told both times that it was a violation of jail policy.

Though there is no surveillance video that would show the two hugging, jail officials confirm seeing the two touch on two different times.

The jail released the following statement:

Mr. Baez was observed hugging his client on two occasions. He was advised that this is a violation of jail policy. After the second incident, he was again advised of the policy and said he would remember in future visits not to engage in this behavior. Orange County Corrections considers this a closed matter."

No officers had to go into the room to separate the two, and the jail says the matter has been closed by the Corrections Department

i imagine if i were on the jury and my mind was already leaning that way, i would think maybe others would be too and it may not take long and just in case, I'd like to look my best. If they've already decided in what order when they'll give interviews to the media as they have, i know my mind would immediately going to "hmm, what to wear?" and be ready just in case.

then again, they could have dressed up mainly because it's the last day of appearing in the court room for this trial.

I don't necessarily recall that bit, probably because it was so long ago.. but I do recall the female juror who spoke after the verdict.. I seem to recall being nervous because I thought I had heard that she looked at him before the verdict was read, and there was a concern that she may have been conveying that they were going to be in his favor.. then we found out differently.

That would be my theory, that individually they already knew how they were going to vote and so they dressed better. WRT dressing better since it was the last day in court, I could see that as a possibility but I think the other explanation makes more sense to me considering many may be interviewed. However, in thinking about it, they did not reach a verdict on last day of the trial, so they would have known a verdict was near or had even been reached...IIRC they deliberated about 6 days....had to get rid of a couple jurors and once they had the new jurors in place reached a verdict in about 8 hours IIRC...

Our booker/producer Brian Cohen watched jurors come in this morning and reports they were slightly more dressed up than they were Friday, noting that juror #12 has her hair done.  Brian's thought?  Juror #12 thinks she could end up on TV today after the jury makes its recommendation.

But in order for them to be interviewed(if they get a verdict today)they would have to find her not guilty of anything.After they do find her guilty of enough to give her LWOP,they will still be held for the penalty phase......so there will be no interviews.IMO even when she is found guilty and goes through the penalty phase.....these jurors will be whisked right back to their homes way ahead of the media.

Sorry, all the nonsensical LKB comments will not change the fact that the Defense mess up on day 1 of their opening statements making promises to the jury that they never kept.

It will also not change the actions of Casey Anthony after the death of Caylee Anthony.

IMO, I think the Defenses entire method of defending Casey was ridiculous. There is no way that she is going to walk away without some type of charge of being guilty. There should have been a plea deal long ago by the Defense.

Short of that ... the Defense should have tried this case to mitigate their clients damages. If they wanted to go after the accidental drowning, they should have then said that Casey pannicked and tried to hide her daughters body.The Defense could have had Casey take responsibility and then totally panicked and tried to make it appear that nothing happened. Would Casey have been found guilty of a crime, Yes. Would it have been 1st degree murder ... no.

The problem with the defenses argument is they tried a case under the premise of an accidental drowning but did so in a manner like a murder. They lost everything, including sanity when they tried to pin this on George and Roy kronk. It just isn't believable.


In the end, their defense will backfire because it just does not pass the logic test.

So as soon as they find her guilty they do the penalty phase?

If they find her guilty of 1st degree murder.  Say they find her guilty of 2nd degree or manslaughter, no penalty phase.  Judge would sentence her to whatever the law allows, not DP though.

We are getting a storm hoping it will pass fast so I dont miss anything but my luck it will knock out lights then when i get back on it will be over and wont get to see the verdict first hand

Ahhhh,I didn't think about that even though I don't think she will get the death penalty.So even if she is found guilty on most of the charges.....it'll be up to the judge to penalize her?

No, if they find her guilty of 1st degree, the jury has to recommend death or lwop, so they need to go to penalty phaze. 

All the other charges are not DP or LWOP charges, so no jury input, as far as I know. 

When does everyone think the verdict will be in? Today? Tomorrow? etc..

Probably depends.  I imagine they won't be doing anything until tomorrow regarding the penalty phase even if they come back with a quick guilt verdict today.
