But I would also subject myself to third-party scrutiny if I crossed the line by fabricating evidence, attempting to influence witnesses, engaging in a unilateral media campaign based on lies and misreprestaations intended to smear and embarrass local law enforcement, and/or announced that I was on a secret mission planning my next attack against wherever it was that my daughter was last seen.

I may not appreciate the scrutiny but I would have to realize that I brought it on myself.

I found it interesting watching the subtitled interviews with Mr Flores, even before they knew a crime had been committed, the casino owner allowed Mr Flores to review the tapes. The LE was more than cooperative in leaping to assist, the Flores son's were checking every hotel and met with cooperation in that effort. Even when it was discovered Stephany was dead, the police allowed Mr Flores to have his daughter removed from the hotel room in a proper coffin and not a bodybag. With the indignity she suffered as Joran murdered her and even removing her clothing after, her father so needed for her remains to be handled with dignity.

If only Natalee's parents had been met when they arrived on the island with LE willing to assist, a casino owner willing to assist, and parents that didn't allow their son to talk about Natalee in front of her parents as if she were a slut and a sex object. How about treating her as a human?????

Aruba set the tone, Aruba willing became their adversaries right along with favored son Paulus and Joran. NONE of that was Beth's fault, not one iota.

It's called "cause and effect" Charlierat, something any non-psychotic attorney would well know. You need far bigger credentials than you have to make any qualified statements of value.

I have to wonder if Charlierat has the gumption to write the types of things he has about Stephany's character as he has Natalee's? Or her father or mother as he has Beth?

I'm betting he doesn't.........

According to Peruvian reporters, the father of the murdered Stephanie Flores not to take revenge by Joran in jail to murder. That states this week's Nieuwe Revue. He has other plans.

In a report about the hell that Joran van der Sloot awaits, the magazine notes that Joran will get an injection with HIV. Administered by a hired fellow prisoner. Since living conditions are so bad, the HIV and AIDS will soon turn into within two years Joran will be done.

Next week, Joran brought before the court. Currently, the Dutchman is isolated in a cell. Eventually he will have to share a cell with dozens of others.

I had not even thought or imagined this could happen by injection.........

Peru does not want Joran to gt any breaks or have the international press saying he received inadequate counsel.  That would account for the high profile attorney, IMO.

And don't forget--Fujumori is in jail!  This defense counsel did not get him off.

Some how or other I missed that Dave had already left Aruba.  That was fast.  Doesn't take Aruba long to say NO!  And they will never deem anything Joran says as credible.  But if TES was going to search at their own expense, what would it have hurt?  They really don't want Natalee found even though it continues to make them look totally incompetent and corrupt.

I think they fear the media if she is found and the effect it will have on what tourism they have but how much worse could it be?  Now most people just assume the worst.

i dont think its the tourism, they are worried about its something bigger, the vander sloots
and others must know something about some kind of corruption, but i just cant think of
what kind of corruption/scandle that you would fear to the point of, protecting a suspected
murder at the time,in the dissaperance of someone

You can register as anybody on some of those sites to make comments.  Remember they used to register as Klaas somewhere and say things she wouldn't say?

As I understand Charlierat, he admits Joran is guilty but thinks Aruba should be given a free pass for failing to collect any forensic eivdence and allowing ten days to clean up any there was.  He hates Beth because she had the nerve to speak out against Aruba's corruption.

But he sure did look smitten in that photo he wanted with her!  I got sent to the heated exchange with him at RU but when I got there, he wasn't there and didn't post.

He wants Aruba defended at all costs.  But the whole world sees the difference now in how Peru handled this and how Aruba refused to do so.

I expect he saw some of that in Thailand but instead of his cafe where he had coffee and sandwiches, he will surely have a much more varied and 'organic' cuisine.

According to Peruvian reporters, the father of the murdered Stephanie Flores not to take revenge by Joran in jail to murder. That states this week's Nieuwe Revue. He has other plans.

In a report about the hell that Joran van der Sloot awaits, the magazine notes that Joran will get an injection with HIV. Administered by a hired fellow prisoner. Since living conditions are so bad, the HIV and AIDS will soon turn into within two years Joran will be done.

Next week, Joran brought before the court. Currently, the Dutchman is isolated in a cell. Eventually he will have to share a cell with dozens of others.

I have a friend whose son has Hep C.  He claims he got if from a tattoo.  He has had to take chemotherapy drugs and all that.

So I wondered if Joran's blood test was for Hep C since he is sporting that gross and ugly tattoo.  It looks especially unbalanced where it is located.  He for sure got his artistic abilities from Anita who has none.

But yes, you can get HIV from dirty needles.  But I can also think of another way he could get it, too.  Remember all those children in an orphanage in the Balkins who had it from reusing needles. 

But I don't think the Flores family will have to dirty their hands with anything.  Joran's sense of entitlement will be his undoing among the other prisoners.  That arrogance Anita and Aruba taught him to have will now be his worst enemy.

The casino owner is also a friend of the Flores family per one of the sons.  I agree with you None....however, if Stephany had come from a non-influential family I don't think they would have been given the same considerations and attention.  In fact, joran would probably have gotten away scott free.  I hate that money and influence determines how people are treated....but it's that way all over at times....  As you say aruba set the tone....and that tone will be an echo that haunts their island til the ends of time....

Anna when I first moved to Jamaica to work, I was served chicken feet soup too....no frigging way...but many Caribbean cultures and South American cultures have chicken feet soup..............ugh!!

I agree that being a family of influence helped significantly, money and influence also can determine the outcome of a trial. So perhaps Joran and Anita will feel that come full circle now, for I don't think he has a ghost of a chance to avoid a conviction or to be extradited to Aruba prior to serving out his sentence in Peru and then the US has next call on his sorry self with the extortion charges.

If the Holiday Inn staff noted Joran was known for preying on female tourists to Beth right away, then the Aruba LE should have taken that as a call to action.

There is a big difference between protecting "your own" if they have unblemished pasts as did Stephany, and protecting a known predator of sorts as Aruba did.

Sunny, I think Peru would come down hard on any foreigner coming there and killing a young woman.  Maybe if he was a local he would have gotten away with it but I do think any Gringo/white is going to pay and pay dearly.

But that's just my opinion, no way to prove or disprove either way.

But I find it particularly enjoyable that her family IS influential since that's how Joran got off in Aruba.  Sort of poetic justice of sorts.

And some how, waiting for justice for Natalee is much easier knowing Joran is suffering each and every day.  And I do believe he is even in his "luxury" cell which is far worse than his worst nightmares and worse than anything in Aruba or this country.

What does it taste like?

Ono, I just couldn't taste it.  I am effected by the high altitude and usually feel lousy there and in Bolivia for a week or so.  My husband quickly ate his and we switched his empty bowl for mine with the foot in it and he ate it!  Not the foot but the soup part.  Apparently, you don't have to eat the foot as it is more for flavoring.

So first chance we got with no one looking, we did the ole bowl switcheroo.  Did NOT want to offend our hosts.

I am thinking that this may be one of those tricky translation things......An injection may not be exactly what is says.....um, know what I am trying to say???  I guess you could call getting it the old fashioned way an injection....(insert red faced icon here)
