Been away dealing with online chat with comcast, our cable provider. Got two DTAs for our extra TVs that do not have ditital boxes attached to them, and they cannot seem to get them activated correctly. They have tried 6 times since 8:30 last night.

Cable companies suck, IMO. LOL

Anyway, that is the reason for my delay in posting.

They do indeed suck the big one, but where would we be without them? I'd be curled up in my bed, I'd have a PhD by now, and I would not be able to speak to anyone over the age of 10. In short, I'd be missing my monkeys and i'd be a GAF all the time! I'd be the General GAF!

Pardon me for sounding dumb but what does GAF stand for?  LOL... I have been trying to figure it out and even googling didn't work.....

BTW, my baby granddaughter is out of the hospital!  I heard her laughing and playing again.  Thank you my friends for all the prayers!

I'm cold again. My BGF has an outhouse at his house. He doesn't use it, but his Czech granma would only use the outhouse not indooor plumbing 

I had a Czech grandma, and I can't imagine her ever using an outhouse, I mean I'm sure she did when she was little I guess. I can't imagine using an outhouse, it makes me sick thinking about that 

What amazes me No Rose, is that he still has it. It was his grandparents house and nothing has changed forever. It is a really cool old house, but  nothing has changed since the grandparents passed.

My grandma in law (is there such a word?) had a bathroom with indoor plumbing but still used the old outhouse most of the time.. funny, they are just set in their ways.

I swear I will hold it unless absolutely can't hold it. I can't imagine going in an outhouse back in the day, much less when if I had a proper bathroom in my house.

congrats on the gd being home!! It's so hard for preemies...and their parents (and grandparents). Glad she's better!

bananas - that is wonderful news!

NRCG - Beenthere with hot flashes they are not fun.  I had premature menopause as well, two years after youngest was born.  All the females on my mom's side of the family were done really early Driving in the car at -30 with the driver window rolled down, people think you re crazy

JSM - glad to hear Josef is doing better. 

Tevye - I want in on the trip.  If I stay here longer I may hurt my brother.  My Mom called today to tell me she was at my brother's for a week looking after my niece who is 11.  My SIL is in the hospital , she has ongoing issues with Crohn's and just had surgery and got rushed back in because of infection.  My mom is 70 and does not need to be taking 2 buses and walking 10 blocks to take her granddaughter to school and then do it all over again to pick her up from School.  My SIL used to drive her and I know my brother could call the school and arrange for busing but he does not want his daughter on the bus.

bananas, how wonderful and what a relief for your daughter and you and the rest of the family. So happy that you got to hear her laugh. Now your daughter is going to have trouble getting the little guy back home, it will be hard for you to send him back 

I will miss him but I am plumb wore out too.  He is missing his mama and home now.  I think she is going to drive out here to get him tomorrow.  I am just thankful they are both out of the woods now.

I'm so glad also, I would be plumb worn out also, been quite awhile since I took care of a little baby. I would be on pins and needles, I'm sure just like when mine were babies.

You know I would keep it to add to the charm of the house, my grandparents in Michigan they had a cool old house on a hill. My grandfather in Michigan came to this country from Belgium when he was six years old. He never bought anything new, his logic was so what if the chair has a hole in it, I can still sit in it so why bother to buy a new one. It wasn't that he couldn't have afforded to buy one, and he was generous with my dad, he just wasn't a type that had to have anything new. It took my dad forever to talk him into getting a better tv.

I know I would be worn out chasing after them, panicking every moment of the way in case something happened. Even when my kids were little I didn't enjoy a lot of it, because I was always worried about something happening. There are parts of their growing up I blanked out, because I was so afraid of something happening or them getting sick. I think because I had no brothers or sisters and never babysat, I didn't have any experience in babies and little kids, and no family close by to help.

bananas I am so glad to hear your grand daughter is doing better and home. It's amazing how we get back in the swing things when our grand children are around. Hope you get some rest.
