One more stupid question, then I will shut up. Is the canal close to his mom's residence? I have a "canal" behind my apartments but it is lit up and you have to go down a slope bigger than the one in the pictures. I just wanted to know if it could be possible that he fell in and drowned?

JVM said the canal was close to the friend's house that had the car stolen......She also said that it was about 10 miles from the egg donors apartment. Not sure if that's true but that's what was said on the show this evening.........

The canal is the same one that crosses Vista Avenue less than a half-mile away from the apartment where Robert was reportedly last seen. The spot where the body was found is around 2 miles southeast from the Boise home near Five Mile Road that police searched Friday night. Around 14 miles away from the mom's apartment.

JSM is so very sad right now. The sheriff said "the family" does that mean the mom and step dad or the "real" dad's family?

Another question, JSM doesn't know what a canal is, is it like a river? Does it flow fast or is it just for irrigation? We have a canal, but it is for looks only and it doesn't really move unless there is a storm. TIA JSM

There could be somewhat of a current, especially from the pumps that the farmers use to draw the water to their fields. But my guess is he was placed in the water pretty close to where is was found. It is getting pretty close to havest season now for the potatoes and beets, and they may not need as much water right now. JMO

Thanks Fanny. It just seems odd that two people saw a body floating and one pulled him out. If he had been in the water since he went missing, it wouldn't have been a pretty site for the person that pulled him out.

i gotta say that the bio dad & family are in my prayers...the chances of losing two children at the hands of two different wives is like lightening striking in the same place twice. i also wonder if there is some kind of mental sickness that would cause a woman that so obviously hates children to have a baby with every man she is with??? it does not excuse her actions - but i guess it would go a long way in helping me understand that there was a reason for any of this...

i gotta say that the bio dad & family are in my prayers...the chances of losing two children at the hands of two different wives is like lightening striking in the same place twice. i also wonder if there is some kind of mental sickness that would cause a woman that so obviously hates children to have a baby with every man she is with??? it does not excuse her actions - but i guess it would go a long way in helping me understand that there was a reason for any of this...

There is no reason. She slept around and got knocked up. She had too many children and she was an abusive mom. It happens all the time. The board is full of mother's that kill their children. Most children that are killed are killed by family members.

That the court let her have unsupervised visitation of any of her offspring after she fractured the skull of an eight month old, has every bit to do with Robert being dead tonight as the mom and the BF.

KUNA - The body of a young boy was found in the New York Canal near Kuna Monday afternoon - and police are trying to determine if the boy is Robert Manwill, who went missing on July 24th.

Just before 1:30 p.m., a citizen called Ada County Dispatch and said there was a body floating in the canal. An Ada County Sheriff's Deputy responded to the scene and jumped into the water to pull the body from the water.

The Ada County Coroner also responded to the scene, and the person was found to be dead.

“The body is that of a young boy about the same age and size as Robert Manwill," Deputy Chief Jim Kerns said Monday night.

The coroner's office is working to make a positive identification on the body, but that determination is not expected to come until Tuesday. An autopsy will be performed on the body.

“A missing child is every family’s nightmare, and a nightmare for an entire community," Kerns said. "(This case) remains under active investigation. Detectives are working closely with the coroner’s office.”

Dispatchers tell us no other children have been reported missing today.

Manwill's family has been apprised of the development.

Police crews responded to the scene of a body found in a canal Monday afternoon.

The New York Canal, where the body was found, connects an area near the apartment complex where Manwill was reported missing - and the scene where today's body was found, however police officials tell NewsChannel 7 it is not certain the body would be able to get from one point to another.

Grates like this one are placed into the water throughout the canal - though this one was in the open position Monday afternoon.

There are at least five grates in the water between the two scenes that could block objects from passing through. The canal measures about 14 miles between the apartment area and the location where the body was found. (See map below).

KTVB has attempted to reach canal officials, but they have not returned our calls.
Police initially said last week that they had ruled out the canal as a search location

The article above says the canal was actually only 1/2 a mile from the apartment Robert's mom lived at and 2 miles from the house that was searched.

  Well I am not praying for the mother-she should have been in jail for smashing her baby head and causing a skull fracture.  The Judge that let her walk free- his picture should be posted in every news paper-the judge that gave her visitation  right along side two judges without a brain in their head   ::

  Why do judges think that when a women gives birth to a child -that give her the right to abuse that child.  If I took a baby I dint know and fracture his head would I go to Jail-YES so if you are the child mother that gives the right
