OMG. And she wants a lower bond after that admission?

HICKORY, N.C. -- A bond reduction request filed Monday for Elisa Baker reveals new details on how she helped detectives in the Zahra Baker case.

According to the court document, Elisa Baker told her attorneys on Oct. 22 that she knew the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and death of the 10-year-old. That night, her defense team located a significant piece of evidence in the case that was later turned over the law enforcement officials, the paperwork says.

Within 48 hours, police were told that Zahra was dead and that her body was dismembered and would be recovered at different locations, according to the document. Elisa Baker’s attorneys suggested that she could show police the exact locations.

Elisa Baker was taken out of jail at one point during the investigation and led police to three different sites, including the Dudley Shoals area and the Christie Road area, both of which are in Caldwell County. Remains that police believe are Zahra’s were found in the Dudley Shoals area and Zahra’s prosthetic leg was found off Christie Road.

Elisa Baker also confirmed to police that a mattress found at a landfill was consistent with one that had been placed in a dumpster, the document said. In addition, she told them additional evidence could be found in the family’s Hickory home, according to the document.

Her attorneys argue that her bond should be reduced because her cooperation led police to much of the evidence in the case. In addition, they said that due to the international attention the case has garnered, Elisa Baker is now instantly recognizable and would not be able to easily avoid detection if she left the area.

Everyone would need to hide their children, pet's and stuffed animal's, from this vampire want a be, if she went free on bond.
This is nutso to even dream of a bond. She is much safer (where she is) and the world is safer from her. Zayra looked just
like Daddy, how could he have done this to anyone, he must have a little you know what!   Monkey Devil!

Kristie Austin Pope (owner of The Zahra Project FB page)  Unable to post link

I know this:
"Zahra loved to make bracelets, which I think it would be an awesome idea to have ppl make bracelets and/or necklaces for her. She loved Littlest Pet Shop, Polly Pockets, etc. She is a little girl, she generally liked to do anything. She really liked Koala bears, her step sister says that was the one animal she can remember that she really liked. So I think Koalas, bracelets, Littlest Pet Shop, Polly Pockets is a good start. Oh yea her favorite colors are pink, purple and blue! The bracelet idea comes from the fact that this past christmas she took the time to make everyone a bracelet and a card."

If there wasn't a deceased little girl, a heartbroken mother, and the compassion of the world following this case, this would be about the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.

Let's see, would the world be a safer or less safer place if EB was let out?

Hmmm....?  Let me think on that.

Any judge that lets her out need to be kicked off the bench.

Officials in Zahra case await more DNA information

By Steve Crump

HICKORY, NC (WBTV) - It was Friday when Hickory Police confirmed a human bone found dumped in the brush in Caldwell County did belong to Zahra Baker.

The DNA is a match.

Other human remains found last week, along the banks of Little River, have not been identified.

Hickory Police Department says the remains are those of a child.  The medical examiner is still investigating.

Throughout the weeks of searching from the main roads to the remote pockets of the North Carolina foothills, the one break in the Zarha Baker case came after finding the so called "needle in the haystack."

Calvin Jackson teaches forensic science at Central Piedmont Community College's American Academy of Applied Forensics.

The searchers reportedly found a femur, Jackson says, "That was the most significant find you could have.  A femur because of the property value you could have with that particular bone."

Through the marrow inside the bone, the little girl's DNA could be matched from other samples taken by police early on.

Jackson said, "They're gonna take each individual piece and they're gonna position that piece and lay it out and see where it would fit on a person of that stature."

Jackson says the next challenge is to reconstruct as much of the little girl's body as possible in order to answer what may happened before and after she died.

According to Jackson, the discovery of human remains raises new questions.

"Why was the body scattered?  We don't know if suspects scattered the remains or if the remains could have been scattered by predators some kind of activity on the part of animals?"

New Developments in the Zahra Baker Case

HICKORY, N.C.--We are following new developments in the Zahra Baker case.  An attorney is trying to get her stepmother's $40,000 bond lowered.  Elisa Baker is in the Catawba County Jail charged with Obstruction of Justice.  Police say she admitted to writing a fake ransom note.

Baker's attorney filed paperwork Monday saying her bond should be lowered because she is the one who led investigators to Zahra's remains.  DNA confirms a bone found in Caldwell County belongs to the little girl.

There is a candlelight vigil Tuesday night on what would have been Zahra's 11th birthday.  It's from 6-7 p.m. at Union Square in downtown Hickory.

Has her attorney lost his freaking mind??  How does he sleep at night?  how will he ever wash the stink off himself....azzwipe!!

Paperwork Details Elisa Baker’s Involvement In Investigation

HICKORY, N.C. -- A bond reduction request filed Monday for Elisa Baker reveals new details on how she helped detectives in the Zahra Baker case.

• VIDEO: Paperwork Details Elisa Baker’s Involvement In Investigation

According to the court document, Elisa Baker told her attorneys on Oct. 22 that she knew the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and death of the 10-year-old. IMHO the above posted motion (tks again Northern) ONLY proves that EB had to have direct knowledge & been present to know exactly where to find what she led them to - even if they would get a lower bond, it wont be by much & its doubtful anyone worth breath will fork over the cash to bond her out.   She's walked herself into being an accomplice at the very least, but again IMHO her pointing the finger to AB is only to save her own sorry fugly behind.

Am I losing my mind or does the document say that the DEFENSE team located and COLLECTED a piece of evidence? Why would ANYONE collect a potential piece of evidence?

from the motion:

<snipped>

e.  On Monday October 25, 2010, Elisa Baker accompanied law enforcement to three sites that contained the remains of Zahra Baker. At each of the sites the defendant described what should be found there and specifically directly law enforcement to the area to be searched

We only know about two sites, where was the third that contained remains?

The defense team collected a piece of evidence and subsequently turned it over? Is this normal? Couldn't they contaminate the crime scene?
