Zenaida Gonzalez can seek punitive damages in a defamation suit against Casey Anthony, a judge ruled this morning.

Anthony's attorneys wanted Circuit Judge Jose R. Rodriguez to toss the suit as frivolous.

Gonzalez says that Anthony ruined her life by linking her to Caylee Anthony's disappearance. Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her toddler daughter.

Gonzalez's attorneys want Anthony to look at a photo and state under oath that Gonzalez is not the child's kidnapper, WKMG-Channel 6's Mike DeForest said.

"How could it incriminate her to look at a picture of our client and say that's not her?" Gonzalez attorney Keith Mitnik asked in a WKMG report.

Jonathan Kasen, Anthony's attorney, responded: "You cannot intentionally harm someone that you don't know."


Gonzalez's attorneys have amended their complaint by accusing Cindy Anthony, Casey's mother, of spreading the defamation on television, DeForest added. Kasen has 20 days to respond to the amended complaint, DeForest said. 
WFTV-Channel 9's Mark Boyle noted that George and Cindy Anthony, Casey's parents, had attended the hearing this morning. "They came and left without saying a single word," Boyle said.

DeForest said more fireworks were expected Thursday in the civil suit. Gonzalez's attorneys will ask the judge to force the Anthonys -- George, Cindy and Casey's brother Lee -- to answer questions they sidestepped in videotaped depositions.

Just why would they need a lawyer to accompany them to a hearing where they are not even required to testify?
Do they need one to step outside their door every morning now?

JMO but I think they think they are so important that they need his protection

This is going to be very interesting. No amount of grooming from Brad is going to keep Cindy from doing or saying something that she shouldn't. Maybe she will have a meltdown on the stand  We will need popcorn kitty Thursday morning, and throw in Valium Kitty also.

I want her to tell the judge the question is NOT PERTINENT!!

Bounty hunter won't be questioned today in Casey Anthony civil case

The California bounty-hunter who once bailed Casey Anthony out of jail won't be questioned today in the civil case against the single mother.

Attorneys with the Morgan & Morgan law firm, who represent Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez in the defamation suit against Casey Anthony, had expected to question Leonard Padilla at 1 p.m. today.

But Padilla's deposition was rescheduled.

Check back for updates.

I wonder why it was canceled??  Perhaos they wanted to wait to see the outcome of the hearing today.

A long time ago, Morgan had said FINANCIAL DISLCLOSURE if their suit was won.
That is why the ANTs, Baez and Conway  are trying anything to get this thrown out. 
The $15,000.00 could have been paid easlily but then there would be an admission of liability. Punitive damages are a beautiful thing. 

Bear with me...I am slow today.....but why would there be financial disclosure for the A's...the suit is against kc??  What am I missing??

So on Thursday we know one question they want to compell Spindy to answer is if Slore ever used her credit cards without Spindy's knowledge..which we all know she did from previous talks Spindy , George and Lee had with LE.

It could be that I'm having a spell of insanity, but I have this weird feeling this is going to come to a screeching halt before Thursday. I don't know all the legal mumbo jumbo but does anyone see this as happening, some kind of settlement or something? If not I'm taking bets on why Cindy won't be available Thursday
