You know, I just realized ~ how is Wendell paying for his hospitalization? I know for sure that a mental health institution is well over a $1500 a day in Texas. Surely, his military retirement doesn't cover all that, or does it? Maybe so; didn't he leave early 'cause of his mental health? oh, boy.
He should be using the VA...they have a mental health facility...should be covered. That's how it works here in Florida. Here we have the Baker Act...even if he checked himself in voluntarily he could be place under the Baker Act. But, when a patient is received that has military benefits they are forced to go to the VA....UNLESS...they refuse and then Medicare/Medicaid takes over.
Is there a limit as to how long a patient can stay, whether it's VA or Medicare/Medicaid? Here, I know there's a limit....and it doesn't seem too long. He's been there a while now, hasn't he?
The latest average patient stay is three days...but, if he expresses any behavior that puts him at risk to harm himself or anyone else, then he can keep getting two week extension orders. He can also be ordered to State Hospital while he is a patient there and never leave that facility. Now, this is in Florida...I am not sure of the laws in NH.

Texas is similar ~ see, I can actually picture ole' Wendell using this to his advantage. That's just my opinion, though. The whole dropping to the ground business was so staged, I thought.....or, if it was real, it's 'cause he knew his goose was gonna be cooked, one way or another.
I picture him just cruising from one facility to another, never having to answer a question.

I have seen criminals come in and try and hide behind the locked doors of the mental health facility...but, have faith that the doctors will see through it if it is an act. There are certain ways to determine whether his problem is behavioral or schizophrenia. You can only act so much...and if the public didn't fall for his falling on the ground act...then the doctors will not be falling for it either.

If he is in a VA facility he is probably in Manchester. Vets may have to pay co-pays if the mental health issue is not attributed to their service, but can get it waived if they qualify for low income.
How long was he in the service? For some reason I thought he was a career guy, maybe 20 years. What branch was he in? I thought his mental issues occurred after he left the service and that he had an honorable discharge, but there has been so many conflicting news reports I don't know what is accurate.
I have the feeling Wendell can work the system, so he could very well stay there indefinitely.

Tcumom,
You were right. Wendell received a medical discharge from the Air Force for schizophrenia. He served in Operation Desert Shield.

I was wrong in thinking he must be in the Manchester VA. Another news article said he was taken to a hospital in Concord. It was a Boston paper and it didn't specify Concord NH or MA or where. I didn't see a VA hospital in Concord, NH when I looked.

Check this out! Could this possibly be our Wendell? They call him
Mr
Wendell Noyes instead of a rank. I noticed in several articles in this case they mentioned he was retired and had been "Air Force Staff", without giving a rank. This guy was an adviser on a retiree council in 2004 ad 2005. Here is a link to the 2004 minutes. Look under advisors for his name. Could there be 2 Wendell Noyes affiliated with the Air Force?

That is fantastic that you found this ~ for some reason I'm having trouble finding his name in that document, and for pete's sake, it's only 4 pages. haha.
When the forum went down last night for its daily backup or whatever, I hit the sack, as I have to leave for school by 6 this morning. I didn't realize it was time for the backup, or I would have told y'all goodnight and not just bailed !

I'm putting this Wendell on here just so we'll know this is the *other* Wendell.
Not wanting to confuse anyone.
Klaas or any mod ~ if you need to delete this due to possibly confusing others, no problem.

Now I am really confused. I thought the lady with the brown hair sitting on the sidelines during the parade was W's mother, Tommie Richards.
I know someone on here said the woman with the long gray hair on the parade float was Louisa's mother. Then, I read that
Celina was to be buried in the cemetery next to Louisa's mother...
So if the gray haired lady isn't Louisa's mother or mother-in-law who is she?
You're not alone! That is exactly what I understood, also. In fact, there was a tag under Tommie Richards photo saying that's who it is .
I thought it was definitely said that the woman on the float with the purple flowers in her hair was Louisia's mother.
Good morning Monkey's,
What cemetery is angel Celina, buried at? Thank-you

Angel Celina is buried (I understand) at Northumberland Cemetery, (I believe) CN dad is also buried there, if I remember correctly from his Obit.

REED, JOSEPH 28 May 1900 Sep 1978 78 03598 (Whitefield, Coos, NH) 03584 (Lancaster, Coos, NH) New Hampshire
http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi
Could Mr. Reed be connected to George C's, family tree? George grew up and died in Lancaster, Coos, NH,
could his wife been a Reed? Just throwing that idea out there
Just could not fit Wayne (Uncle Dean) in the family puzzle.

Did he serve his full tour in
Operation Desert Shield
was his tour cut "short"? That is my only question.

TCUMOM,
Thanks for clearing that up. The guy you found must the one on the retirees council. He would only be in his 70s now. I just knew it couldn't be our Wendell, the dates were after his "problem" with his girlfriend and hospital stint, and I just couldn't see him with enough smarts after seeing him being "interviewed" on TV - lol. What an odd name - I wonder if they are related? Poor man.

Hi ~ remember in George C's obituary, didn't it have a third son listed with the Reed last name? Probably confusing everything even more .

What a negative article by this writer. The toxicology report has not even come back yet. Just because law enforcement has not arrested anyone yet, has it ever occurred to you that maybe they are waiting for the final piece of the puzzle?
Let's not give up hope yet!

I agree not to give up hope.
JMO, I believe every case from here on out doesn't want to end up forgetting about the victim, like Caylee's did.
