Hearing May Reveal Source Of Defense Team Funding

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez is expected to respond to questions, Tuesday, regarding where his team of high profile attorneys is getting the money to defend their client.

Prosecutors requested a special hearing to find out where the money is coming from, and they have several money-related questions for Anthony's lead defense attorney.

Prosecutors want Judge Stan Strickland to find out what financial agreements are behind the hiring of high profile, nationally known defense expert Linda Kenney Baden and pathologist Henry Lee.

The state filed a motion, Monday afternoon, saying eight different lawyers and numerous experts have been hired by Casey Anthony. The motion outlines exactly what prosecutors are hoping the judge will find out. Where is the money coming from?

There is a concern that Baez is managing her only assets, which include photos and videos of Caylee, for the wrong reasons.

Prosecutors are worried Anthony could ask for a new trial, arguing that Baez steered her in the wrong direction for the wrong reasons.

Last summer, profits from the sale of home videos of Caylee brought in almost $200,000.

Says She Didn't Want Them Sold

The blogger who posted intimate videos of Casey Anthony and daughter Caylee on YouTube said she doesn't see a loving mother, disputing what some are saying about the videos.

She also wrote on the Momtective blog that she posted the videos to keep them from being sold to raise money for the Anthony defense fund.


 
 
"I certainly don’t see a loving mother when I watch the videos of Casey playing with Caylee," the blogger wrote in a post dated Saturday on Momtective. "To me Casey looks very uncomfortable. Kind of like she’s trying not to break a nail, muse her hair, or smudge her make-up."

In an earlier post, the blogger, who does not give her name, said another member of Websleuths.com, a popular Internet forum on crime, found the videos in September 2008.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter Caylee, whose remains were found in Orange County in December 2008.

Last week, a legal expert said those videos could help Anthony.

"It absolutely increases her chances of getting a fair trial," criminal defense attorney Richard Hornsby said.

Hornsby said the video of the two frolicking in front of the camera, and another showing Anthony in the mirror behind the camera, could help give perspective jurors a much more positive image of the 22-year-old.

The Anthony's former spokeswoman said the videos had been posted to Anthony's MySpace and Facebook accounts months ago, and were captured by people who had access to those accounts.

Oops, lol, you caught me up at 5:45 am, no I haven't been up all night again.  Doggy woke me up early and I couldn't get back to sleep, so of course I came to the cage.  Always feel so at home and comfortable here.

Welcome home Lucinda, looks like you had a wonderful time.  You haven't missed much here.  It has been so frustrating to me that videos that we have seen for months are all of a sudden "new finds" to the media.  I saw those videos months ago and can remember thinking, why isn't anyone talking to Caylee at breakfast?  If anything, all of our videos have too much of me talking to the kids, lol.  Hate to hear my own voice but I can't help it, I ask them questions just to have their lil voices on the video.  It was very odd that it was so silent and it seemed to make Caylee sad and worried.  All babies thrive on interaction.

I hope they get to the bottom of how the Princess Slore has become so wealthy.  If there is anything the public should deserve to know, it is this.  It makes me so mad, to think that her defense is being paid by the pictures and videos of the baby she killed.

I hope this hearing does take place and the motion is granted...I like the "one two punch"... like many others, have wondered where all this money is coming from.. KC is NOT OJ and this family does not appear to have the same access to money.. at first I thought there might be a drug connection but now that I'm understanding the media/book/movie process better...that seems more feasible...vultures circling everywhere !!!!
