Today it was announced in Holland that the Dutch detective cold case squad have adviced to keep the investigation open. Aruban authorities have complied and have announced that JVDS remains the prime suspect. There is no deadline.

It's difficult not to feel a ray of hope...but boy, have we gone down this path before.  

Why now?  Where have the stupid Dutch been all along?  Can Paulus really have this many people in his pocket?  

Maybe everyone's beginning to realize that Joran will never be able to stop putting his own foot in his mouth, which may lead to a later revealing of nasty secrets...so somebody better go first.

I don't understand why the Kalpoes haven't spilled yet....what with their economic hardships (Nadira fired; Deepak's work permit revoked - and whatever else has happened along the way) and the money.  As corrupt as Aruba is, I can't believe now that they wouldn't cut a deal with the Kalpoes to put this thing to bed and get back to Party Central on One Drugged-Out Island.
