Hey Monkeys. Yesterday wasn't such a great day for me. I took over 1,100 lbs of pet food over to the local Meals on Wheels program (I created a pet food drive to feed the pets of homebound seniors) and on my way back I was in an accident. I was waiting to turn left at a light and a guy coming from another direction who was turning left to go south past me, hit me. He wasn't looking, he was on his cell phone. All I remember was his huge truck coming at my face. He smashed the front drivers side of my beloved Jeep.

The blessing is that I wasn't hurt and Grissom was not in the car with me. My friend came and got me and I cried all the way back to work. I then find out that I didn't have collision on my car. I thought I did. My lovely insurance company with whom I had gotten this policy a long time ago, never told me. Just lovely. So now due to Michigan's no fault insurance all I get is $500 and no car. The truck that hit me, was just fine and left after the police report.

I just don't know what I'm going to do about transportation. I'm going to have to get another car, I would like a Jeep wrangler again, but I don't know what I can afford. I'm waiting for the adjuster to call me today. Maybe, just maybe, the car is fixable. A girl can dream can't she?

That Jeep was a 1998 Jeep wrangler. It was the very first vehicle I bought all on my own after my divorce. It was quite an accomplishment and I loved her dearly. She was purple. Every night when we got home I would pat her on the hood and say thank you. She served me well.

I'm so sad today. I'm trying to keep my spirits up and am so very thankful I'm OK and Grissom's OK. It could have been worse. But still I lost a very important part of my past and my independence today. Say a prayer for me.

Thank you, love Boo

I'm a little behind in reading this thread.....

Can't a claim be filed against the other guy's insurance?  I don't think no-fault should be an issue, but then I only know what we've experienced here in NJ.

Hi Tibro, great to see you!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Petey is a crackup as long as you don't get your hands/arms in the way of his razor sharp teeth.  Also, can someone please tell my husband that giving an 8 week old puppy tator tots and raw apple might not be a good idea

Petey is so cute.....your hubby should know that what goes in must come out... Wink

Petey playing with the ribbons reminded me of one of ours years ago....he thought any abandoned sock was his personal toy and one day hubby went to put on a pair of dress loafers that happened to have tossles on them.   One shoe had tossles and the other didn't.  We knew who the culprit was.  Hubby just cut them off the other shoe and we went on our way.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, and your family, Klaas.

I well remember puppy teeth being like little needles.  Thank goodness they fall out at such an early age.

Raw carrots make a much better chewable treat for puppies, and older dogs too.

Merry Christmas to you 2NJ.  Glad to see they have dressed you in gloves and boots for your snowboarding ride.

I had German Shepherd Dogs and they used to spend hours munching on a whole raw carrot.  Good for them and does not have the same effect on their tummies that apples and such can do.

CBB created my avi but Bearlyhere said I needed gloves & booties so Klaas obliged.  Wink

We've had mixed breeds and currently have a Boston Terrier who is approaching 12 years of age.  We've had episodes with her a couple of times where the vet advised us to refrain from offering her certain things to chew on....even some recommended chew bones irritated her stomach.  He said it's because of their jaws that big chunks can be swallowed and cause distress.  Carrots once in a while, especially in the summer, are a cool treat to gnaw on & certain veggies in their diet is a good thing.

He is adorable, little none just looked at his photo and we both said "pink puppy tummy" in unison then she said she gives Petey four weeks and then all the photos will be a blur as he runs by

I hope you had a great Christmas and have a Happy New Year too !!

I wish they would scoot over and let me climb in, looks comfortable! Petey's 4:30am "I'm awake so everyone else should be" habit is getting old fast but he's so cute it's hard to be mad at him

How adorable...looks like they have taken to each other very well. Hopefully Petey will learn to sleep later quickly!!
