NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 12) - Police reportedly have questioned a professor who canceled a class about the same time Yale graduate student Annie Le disappeared on Tuesday.
A New Haven police source told New York Daily News on Friday that detectives became suspicious about the timing of the canceled class, which Le was supposed to atten

I would just drive down there if I knew where to start looking.
I will if they have a search for her.

Unfortunatly they show no footage as of yet of her leaving the building.  So the search is THAT BUILDING and the 100+ law enforcement have that covered.

This is so sad.  IMO she was either killed in that building or someone kidnapped her and snuck her out of the building so she wouldn't get married on Sunday.

FBI questioned man outside Yale lab
New Haven police drive away second person

Updated: Saturday, 12 Sep 2009, 12:59 PM EDT
Published : Saturday, 12 Sep 2009, 11:24 AM EDT

New Haven (AP/WTNH) - Investigators outside the laboratory where a missing Yale University student worked have driven away from the scene with a man they were questioning.

New Haven police later drove away with a second person.

Two agents were seen questioning the man just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday outside the lab where 24-year-old Annie Le was last seen. When they finished talking, the man got in the front seat of the unmarked car and one of the agents got in the back seat. The car then drove away.

About two hours later, around 12:15 p.m., a man in a blue shirt got into a car with a man wearing a New Haven police jacket. That car also drove off.

It was not immediately clear who the men are, and what their connection might be to the disappearance of Le. The building itself remained open and people freely entered and left the facility.

Le, a doctoral student from Placerville, Calif., was last seen Tuesday at the Yale Medical School complex, less than a mile from the main campus. She was planning to be married Sunday on Long Island.

An agent said the FBI wouldn't answer any questions about the investigation while it's ongoing.

A spokesman for the Yale public information office didn't immediately return a phone call Saturday.

Speaking to the The Yale Daily News Friday, Yale University Chief James Perrotti said authorities “still have no idea” what happened to Le of whether she ever left the research building.

On ABC's Good Morning America Saturday, Vanessa Flores, a former roommate of Le's who came out from California for the wedding, said Le was a very conscientious person and was excited about her upcoming wedding.

"There was nothing that would make us believe that she was having second thoughts or anything like that," Flores told ABC.

Citing a police source, the New York Daily News reported that police on Friday questioned a Yale professor in Le's disappearance. According to the report, Le was supposed to attend the professor's class on Tuesday, but the class was canceled and Le was discovered missing a few hours later.

However, the Yale Daily News quoted University Vice President and Secretary Linda Lorimer, who shot down those reports. Lorimer said the police were "interviewing tons of people" and that there was no reason to believe any professor was a suspect.

Great job Klaas.  Thank you!

Did they bring in cadaver dogs, or just search dogs?  I may have missed that info.  TIA

CASAREZ: What does it say to you, though, they just took dogs into this 120,000-feet facility and brought them out very quickly? They couldn`t have combed the entire area in that time.

TRIPP: Absolutely not. But also keep in mind there`s several different types of dogs. You have tracking dogs. You also have cadaver dogs. And if, in fact, it is foul play and she possibly has met some ill will timed (ph) episode, the cadaver dogs would also be able to locate a body. So there are different types of dogs that can be used in this

MISSING STUDENT: CRIME SCENE FOUND IN BUILDING
Saturday, September 12, 2009

By William Kaempffer, Register Staff

NEW HAVEN — Bloody clothes and other evidence of a crime scene have been found inside the building where missing Yale University student Annie Le was last seen, police sources said Saturday.

The discovery may dash hopes that Le, whose wedding Sunday has been called off, would be found alive.

Police sources said the evidence was discovered in a ceiling at the Yale building at 10 Amistad St. where surveillance footage shows Le entering Tuesday morning. She has not been seen since. The building houses the university’s molecular biology labs.

Police, using bloodhounds, have been searching the building since earlier this week.

Yale Friday offered a $10,000 reward for information, as family and friends remained in limbo about her whereabouts. Le, 24, is a doctoral candidate in pharmacology and molecular medicine.

A team of about 100 law enforcement agents from Yale University, the FBI, state police and New Haven officers, have been working on the case around the clock, according to Yale spokesman Tom Conroy.

As part of that, the FBI went to Yale-New Haven Hospital Friday night to review its security camera videos, according to sources.

Yale officials said Le’s fiance, Columbia University graduate student Jonathan Widawsky, 24, has been cooperating, as have Le’s friends and colleagues at Yale, and her family. officials said said there is no reason to consider Widawsky a person of interest in the case. The Yale official said police had also not uncovered any threats or problems involving Le’s family.

Yale officials said a check of Le’s computer and cell phone failed to turn up anything to explain her disappearance. Le left her purse, money, credit cards and cell phone at her office at 333 Cedar St. before walking three blocks to 10 Amistad St.

On Saturday, Yale officials said media reports of one of Le’s professors being questioned in the case is misleading, since anyone she has contact with has been questioned.

Anyone with information on Le is asked to call the FBI hotline at (877) 503-1950, which is answered 24 hours a day. The FBI has also put out the message about Le on electronic billboards on Interstates 91 and 95.

I was so hoping she either ran away or was kidnapped to stop her from getting married.  I'm so tired of men killing women.

Sources: Bloody clothing found at Yale
New Haven State's Attorney Dearington at scene

New Haven (WTNH) - Bloody clothing has been found in ceiling tiles at 10 Amistad Street, the Yale building where Annie Le was last seen, law enforcement sources tell News Channel 8.

The sources tell News Channel 8's Erin Cox the area where the items were found is now considered a crime scene.

New Haven Police Chief James Lewis told News Channel 8 no body has been found.

Around 12:15 p.m., New Haven State's Attorney Michael Dearington was photographed leaving the building at 10 Amistad St. with New Haven Assistant Chief Peter Reichard.

A Yale University spokesperson said a statement would be released "sometime today".

Investigators outside the lab where Le worked drove away from the scene with a man they were questioning, the Associated Press reported. Two agents were seen questioning the man just before 10:30 a.m.  When they finished talking, the man got in the front seat of the unmarked car and one of the agents got in the back seat. I had a feeling she is dead.
The false alarm being set off was most likely used for him to carry her body out.
Now, it's a matter of being able to find where her body is.
Such a tragic loss.

Someome mentioned something on one of the New Hampshire sites.  Is there an incinerator in the building?  There very well might be an incinerator for medical waste from their lab work.

Police sources told Fox 61 in New Haven that they found Le's body inside the building.

The building houses the university's molecular biology labs. Investigators questioned a man outside her lab Saturday morning - then put him in an unmarked car with an FBI agent and drove away.

Officials would not say whether the man was a suspect or a witness. Le, a 24-year-old doctoral student in pharmacology, was last seen around 10 a.m. Tuesday at the lab on the Yale Medical School complex, about a mile from the main campus.

"[The case] is still wide open," a law enforcement source told the Daily News.

"We are looking into everything." The source said investigators are looking at:

* A burglary gone bad - the lab where Le was last seen is full of valuable equipment.

* Kidnapping - Le's mother owns nail salons in California and has access to cash.

* A professor who suddenly canceled a class Le was to attend around the time she went missing.

Investigators are still searching through hundreds of hours of surveillance footage and following up on tips.

Yale announced Friday a $10,000 reward for information that leads them to Le.

"They are going frame by frame, looking at every image," said Yale spokesman Tom Conroy.

"We are also reviewing footage of nearby businesses. We have yet to I.D. her leaving the building," he said.

"The FBI is continuing to do interviews with everyone who knew the student."

Investigators also examined blueprints of the building to make sure nothing was missed in their search.

Le graduated from the University of Rochester in 2007, where she received a degree in bioscience and met her fiance, Jonathan Widawsky, who she was set to marry today in Syosset.

Police say Widawsky, a Columbia University graduate student, is not a suspect and is assisting with the investigation.

"There is still no evidence of foul play," Conroy said. "We are asking anyone who has information, even if they think it isn't significant, to please come forward."
