THE STATEMENST

Not My Words!

Loving Natalee - Beth Holloway

Pages 187/189:
After waiting months to find out what my statement actually says, Jug calls on my first day in California. He has finally been able to obtain the translation of my statement from prosecutor Janssen. The one the detective brought to me to sign late that night in the restaurant. And I trusted him, and signed every page.

“listen to this, Beth …” The words he reads echo in my head. I begin to sink, and could slide to the ground out of my chair. “Jug, they changed it. They changed my statement.”

I had carefully given intricate details about the encounter in the van der Sloot front yard the first night we got to the island, including names and physical descriptions. Now Paulus van der Sloot is described only as “the man with the glasses.”

Those are not my words.

Earlier we learned from the prosecutor that the statements from the two uniformed officers who were with us in the van der Sloot front yard that morning didn’t mention the sexual encounters described by Joran between Natalee and him. No mention of his sexual contact with her as she was falling asleep and walking up. No mention of his description of her underwear and genitalia. So the judge never heard about all that.

There‘s no way a police officer could stand there that morning, hear what Joran was saying, and fail to include these details in a statement. No way. In my opinion this information must have been deleted for the officers.

Eric Soemers?

Corruption in Paradise - Dave Holloway

Page 182:
  The day after our talk with Ms. Flanegan, I had to go to the police staton to turn in the statement that I had given to Dennis Jacobs.  He had given me a copy to go over with my attorney, Vinda.  But, after looking at it, I realized that it was only a page and a half long and had little to do with what we had actually discussed the most, the conversation that I had with Paulus van der Sloot at the prison ...  I had spent a long time with Jacobs, and much of my interview was not in the statement.

When I went back to turn it in and discuss it with him, I was told that Jacobs was in with Jan van der Stratten.

Page 183:  I commented to Jacobs about how short my statement was. He said that I could add anything I wanted to it. Also, I noticed that Eric Soemers' name was on it, but that detective was not even present during the interview. Now I wondered if Jacobs was making up everyone's statement and getting Eric to sign on to them. If that were the case, he could state anything he wanted, and it would look like an official statement made in front of a witness.

We Never Stood a Chance

Loving Natalee - Beth Holloway

Page 189:
   It's the proverbial, Biblical conflict between good and evil.  It's very, very hard to fight evil because it constantly changes form and you never know who your enemies are.  And evil is always two steps ahead. From the outset we never had a chance.  But we didn't know it.

Thanks for posting the document Klaas.

This is good news!  Who is the Kalpoes' expert analyst?

I would have thought that the findings of the NFI investigation of the Kalpoe/Skeeters recording would have been the foundation of the defamation lawsuit.  It doesn't make sense that the financial backers of this huge lawsuit would take on Phil McGraw if there was no credible backup that the disputed segment of the recording was deceptively manipulated.  It should have been a given from the getgo that Phil McGraw would not settle.

TASK FORCE: Well, it's not what I think, it is what the Dutch forensic institute thinks and what we have also requested the FBI to confirm, which confirmation we haven't received yet. However, the NFI had four investigators separately look at these tapes, and they say that the Dr. Phil show tapes were edited for content in the following order. Just before the word “she,” there was a cut. And just after the word “did,” there was a cut. And then they compared it to the CD-ROM that Mr. Skeeters sent the officials, and you have seen that piece, and it says, “No, she didn't.” And he shakes his head while doing—while saying that.

Is Dr. Phil Winning or Losing the Natalee Holloway Case Battle?
Mar 16, 2011 – 4:09 PM

<snipped>

Babcock said he expects that the lawsuit against Dr. Phil will ultimately be "thrown out." He also said he suspects there is more to the suit than meets the eye

"I will tell you what is going on here, which is just crystal clear if you know how lawsuits work: This is being funded by somebody other than these two guys. Dr. Phil called for a boycott of Aruba, and this is being supported by the Aruban tourism industry and maybe some hotels, some casinos, maybe the government itself," Babcock alleged. "But these guys are spending millions of dollars [on] this case, so this isn't two young guys perusing a claim. This is guys with larger backing."

The Aruba Tourism Authority told AOL News that it is "not involved financially or otherwise in this lawsuit."

Van der Sloot gets preferential treatment...Dutch minister
Story Published: 6:08 pm
Updated: 6:14 pm

A Dutch minister involved in supporting Dutch prisoners around the world says Peru is giving accused killer Joran van der Sloot favorable treatment.

Reverend Peter Middelkoop is head of the Epafras Foundation which supports Dutch detainees in foreign prisons throughout the world.

“He is a very well-known person, so the Peruvian authorities are doing everything to make sure nothing happens to him. He is securely guarded, so that other prisoners cannot harm him,” Rev. Middelkoop has told Radio Netherlands Worldwide.

<snipped>

Other than his international notoriety from the Holloway case, there's another huge difference between van der Sloot and more than 100 other Dutch citizens in Peruvian prisoners. All of the other Dutch nationals were arrested on drug charges.

Dutch triple-murder suspect arrested in Peru
29/03/2011

Dutchman Patrick Van Der Berg, suspected of murdering his wife and their six-month-old baby in Bolivia, has been arrested in the Peruvian capital Lima, Interpol said Tuesday.

Van Der Berg allegedly strangled his 29-year-old wife Lucy Luisa Molina Gonzalez, a Bolivian national, and their baby boy in 2008 before fleeing to Chile, where he is accused of a third murder, that of a female friend.

<snipped>

Van Der Berg will first be transferred to Ica, where another complaint has been lodged against him, before Peru is expected to begin procedures to extradite him to Bolivia as requested.

Two other Dutchmen who have confessed to murder are also in jail in Peru.

Joran van der Sloot, 23, was arrested in Chile and deported to Peru in June last year and subsequently confessed to the May 2010 murder of Peruvian Stephany Flores, 21, in a hotel room in Lima.

<snipped>

A third Dutchman, Jason Conquet, 32, admitted strangling his Peruvian girlfriend, 22-year-old Leslie Paredes, during an argument when she came to visit him in Lima's notoriously overcrowded Lurigancho prison.

Conquet buried Paredes under a homemade cement bench in his cell. Prison authorities only realized three months later because a foul odor emanated from the area.

After knowing what Aruba did to Natalee Holloway, a murdered/raped/ disappeared young woman, Tim Miller and Texas eqqusearch have the gall to auction off trips to Aruba? Tim Miller has sunken to depths that I can't even comprehend. I guess after what we've witnessed this is extremely believable.

If Beth really wants to make a difference and help people?  You know we had more people disappear in the United States of America in the last twenty four hours.  Do you hear this?  Twenty four hours, than Aruba has in their entire history.  This was a very isolated incident. I will not boycott Aruba.  The last time we was in Aruba they was just friendly with us again.  My Gd you know what? Let’s start at home to try to make a change. ...

"State KIA serious and worrying"

Tuesday, 29 March 2011 5:00 p.m.

ORANGE CITY - The Public Prosecutor (OM) is considering measures to improve the situation in Aruba correction Institute (KIA) to address. This morning there was high-level consultations including Chief Peter Blanken and Attorney-General Rob Pietersz about "how further '.

by our reporter
Alex Lacle

The reason for the consultation is the incident yesterday afternoon when two police officers injured. These agents were part of a police team comprising members of the SWAT team and police. They had conducted a search of the Public and fouilleeractie planned in the prison. This action could not be completed because inmates refused to cooperate and strong resistance. "It went wrong right," said Angela Ann, spokesman for the Prosecutor. She explains that such action the prisoners from their cells are removed and are put together. The jailers put separately. Next, the cells in these agents to search. Extent was not so. "The prisoners were very restless and at one point came to a confrontation." Police had to forcibly intervene with reciprocal blows struck. Finally got the agents to the prisoners back in their cell. Here are two officers were slightly injured. At the end of the afternoon was calm in the jail back, says Angela. Injured on the side of the detainees had not yet informed the spokesman.

It is the third time in a short time police conducted searches of the OM performs in prison. During previous actions were drugs, improvised weapons, cell phones and reportedly called a masterkey found. With such a key to inmates in the prison cells and doors open complex. The key finding of this morning could not be confirmed. Chief Peter Blanken said just before the start of consultations on this paper that they at least continue the search. "It is the responsibility of the prosecutor to any risk to prisoners and guards to exclude. The actions will continue until we find nothing. "
