Also one more thing that struck me is that he says right after this "she looked so pretty/sweet you know"

The only time he apparently has something nice to say about her

A little more from Mr. Van Nie's Website that I thought was interesting from the beginning of the case.   This was the guy who got a letter from Theresa Croes which I posted in which he was very critical of Karen Janssen. It would be interesting to see the emails he got that he did not put on his website,I know some were completely Bogus like Natalee taking out 10,000 on her credit card and running away. But the one email sounds credible.MO

and as far as body language: patrick said joran was a pretty good poker player, so i do the he has his bodylanguage covered.
its the words investigators can pin him down with. they ask the wrong questions or they don t go into matters deep enough.

patrick may have said jvds was a pretty good poker player, but didn't he also say he lost 4,000 euros one night?  that doesn't fit my impression of being very good.

i too think of 2 possibillities:
1. natalee was taken to lorenzo s
2. she was taken to the vandersloot home.
paulus either helped hide the body OR he tied to have sex with natalee himself .
thats my theory. i truly believe that joran is protecting his father.
when i saw paulus for the first time i got a nasty feeling. usually that feeling is correct.

Just on the big story, they are saying that the judges have given joran's attorney another day to argue... because Joe Tacopina is in trial right now. TWICE said it was time for Joe T to argue..

 yeah...since when is it Joe T that is doing the work in Aruba!!! unless i missed something. I thought it was his aruban attorneys.

Uhm up until now there hasn't been any more person detained.Maybe that was a news mixup.Today Mr Lejuez (not sure who he is representing)adressed a local radio with some other facts.Or potential facts may I say.
Supposedly Joran van der Sloot was crying in his cell where he is held. And he started talking to Jones(one of the security Guards who is also still held).He said that he thinks that the Kalpoe bro's might be up to something.HE added that it seemed as if they are trying to make it seem like he killed Ms Holloway.So he decided to "confess".He said that the Kalpoe brothers dropped him off FIRST.At the goobyes he exchanged email information with Ms Holloway and then he got out of the car.Came monday , they decided to tell the police that all 3 of them dropped Ms NAtalee , and invented the entire 2 security guard story.
My question: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS ? Now you want to "confess" again? And without telling a reason WHY the 3 of you had decided to come up with a story?You're all guilty..this is guilty behavior.

But the biggest rumor is this; Joran did get out of the car with Ms Natalee(at the lighthouse/arashi beach)...Accidentaly she stumbled at the beach..She fell on rocks where she hit her head pretty hard.And since then passed out.THey dropped her off a far distance from the Holiday Inn.BUt as guilty as they felt came back a few minutes later to check on her.She was still in the same position as when she was dropped off.Then they discovered she still had no pulse and supposed she turned ice cold and purple.SO they all panicked , took her back in the car , and started to plan what to do.
That is how much i know of this 'rumor'.
This is sooo sickening.These guys SHOULD be pressured MUCH harder ..Make them soob so hard they can't even think straight ,so they confess to this.
I believe the rumor.This is a shame , as for I am born and raised on this lovely island. And it makes me sick ! This is unfair , no matter how drunk this girl was.It's utter and completely wrong.

My Opinion is Joran just made up the name after he ran into Daury after he was released from Prison in Aruba in December. He never thought he was being taped but he for sure did not want to tell this Patrick that his Father and a lifelong friend were involved. This is probably the first person he didn't know well that he told all this to. He described Daury and confessed some things to Patrick,but he thought about what he did and when Patrick asked him the name of the person he had it all planned out and answered him in one second. In there meeting before that he said he would take the name to the grave with him and never tell. I believe that to be true.

Daury = PVDS & Koen or Lorenzo (I believe it is Lorenzo)

I agree totally.  Daury is a  composite of  more than one person.  And you've picked 'em.

And as far as the shoe(s), Gerold Dompig got that all started when he said they were looking for one shoe. One was found at the vdSloot house and it was tested for blood, which came back negative. And he seem to imply they were using that shoe as a control shoe to compare anything pulled from the pond. They then found the years old dead guy, the machete, and the purse filled with rocks.

On the shoe thing, Dompig at first said just one and that was out very early after Natalee disappeared. Them in early 2006 just prior to Dompig's infamous dune search (that was highly criticized in Holland and the U.S. and is one of the reasons he got fired) he changed it to "a pair of sneakers" that they expected were buried with Natalee at the dunes.

This appeal is only for pre trial detention that is being appealed ?

So ? Unless they are prepared to actually have a trial, does this matter if he is in jail on Aruba or walking free in Holland. As much as he can walk free.
Whether he is " detained " or not, that is not the issue, the issue is, when are they ever going to charge him ? They is no point detaining him just to re question him, he has stated his case that he was under the influence. He will stick to that. Under advice of his attorneys.

I live on the island. And I know for a fact that more and more "best friends" of van der Sloot sr. are covering up.

I dunno why , but van der SLoot sr. apparatently did tell some people about the case.
Not all of these friends are not in the police department though.

But what you just wrote , is most problably true because van der SLoot sr. has used anything in his power to make sure his son does not talk to anyone.

Today there has been finally (!!!!)a house search (which is going on now , at the same time I am typing). And the police took all cars from the family also.
Well that's all facts now.

Oh , a search with FBI agents and bloudhound is going on around another area near "the Mill resort". It makes me really angry that this is still going on.I mean, if she is dead and the body is hidden..where IS IT? It's so frustrating, people have conducted searches at all areas allready.ALL areas.

Should I be hoping she is still alive?
I keep on praying..and I saw Natalee's mom twice already with her group of people, they are so peaceful!!So now I'm praying more for the mother.I can't even imagine her excrutiating pain.And she still manages to smile.
