Judge King must realize that logic dictates that a lack of a criminal history does not imply a lack of history.  It just implies that accused has not previously been caught.  An adult does not suddenly develop an orientation that involves gratification through the sexual exploitation of children.

In four years William K. Name Redacted2 will be released from prison and ... in all probability ... will again adhere to an industry that ruins of the most vulnerable in our society.

Despictable!!!

Portland Businessman Sentenced to Four Years in Federal Prison in Child Pornography Case

Portland, Ore. – A Portland businessman was sentenced to prison this morning in federal court following his plea of guilty to possessing child pornography.  William Kent Name Redacted2, 67, was sentenced by Senior U.S. District Judge Garr M. King to four years in prison followed by a ten-year term of supervised release, and was fined $12,500.  The fine was ordered remitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Alexandria, Virginia.  Name Redacted2, who has been out of custody pending sentencing, must report to begin serving his sentence on January 21, 2010.

The charge against Name Redacted2 arose from a nationwide undercover investigation conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which focused on commercial Internet web sites that offered images of child pornography to paid subscribers.  The investigation revealed that Name Redacted2 paid for subscription access to at least one commercial child pornography web site.  Name Redacted2 eventually admitted to paying for subscription access to commercial child pornography web sites, and to downloading images and videos of child pornography.  Child pornography was found on Name Redacted2’s home computer, an external hard drive at his residence, and a laptop computer he used at work.

Name Redacted2 is the founder and president of Graphic Sciences, Inc. (“GSI”), which, according to sentencing materials he filed, produces environmentally friendly inks and coatings for the flexographic printing industry.  GSI employs approximately 70 full- and part-time employees in offices in a number of states and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

In imposing the sentence, Judge King balanced Name Redacted2’s background and lack of criminal history against what he described as the “evils” of child pornography.  At the sentencing hearing, Name Redacted2 acknowledged that child pornography is “terrible stuff,” and expressed remorse for his conduct.
 
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.  Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.  For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov.

I probably take after my father in that respect.  Years ago when he was mowing the grass ... a U-haul van backed into our next door neighbours carport.  There was a three foot retaining wall separating the two city properties ... no fence.  Dad had a perfect view from about five feet away as two men enter the home and ... removed furniture and ... packed it all into the van.  As they were driving away about an hour later ... waves were exchanged.  Well ... four  hours later a panicked phone call was received from neighbour wanting to know if anyone in our family had seen anything.  He had been robbed!

I mean, for the first several weeks, we saw them in the media frequently...pressers every week, etc...and now nothing for weeks.

Can someone clear something up for me? I'm only on my second mug of coffee, but I'm starting to wonder: where have we seen it confirmed by LE that Kyron's backpack and coat were left at school on June 4?

The only article I can find is this one from June 5 that says that LE wouldn't confirm that piece of info. Just doing some not-quite-awake-yet out-of-the-box thinking...

I agree with that as she made an issue out of it in her email.

Gates would not comment on statements by a family member and others that Kyron's backpack and coat were found in his second-floor classroom.

Publicly sharing that kind of detail taints an investigation, Gates said, declining to answer other specific questions.

Somehow I believe the coat and backpack were left at the school.  It was all part of Terri's plan to convince all that Kyron had been left at the school that morning.

“The teacher thought I said I was going to take Kyron with Kitty for a doctor’s appt.,” she wrote on June 5, 2010. “I said I was going to look at other exhibits - how do you mess that up? His coat and backpack were still at school. I left the school at 9 and he was seen with a man ‘chaperone’ and 2 girls after I left. There were no men on the chaperone list. That and it was highly chaotic - had to been 300 people running around - no coordination ...”

Well, that's too obvious for me to have grasped. 

I'll have to go back and reconcile their last PC with their GJ testimony dates. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of a "appealing to Dede/Terri/whoemever isn't working, so let's shut it off completely" mandate from LE.

   I have never seen Seahorse to be rude, she is an excellent researcher, and I believe likes to leave 'no stone unturned.'

I also read that she would not post the info she finds unless it appears to be pertinent to Kyron, or otherwise deemed impt.
