Anthonys Taken Off Conference Agenda Due To Threats

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- George and Cindy were scheduled to be keynote speakers at the Melanie Ilene Rieger's memorial conference next month in Connecticut. However, Eyewitness News discovered Thursday that the Anthonys were taken off the agenda after the organizers received hate mail and threats.    Hmmm...I know all our letters were dignified & civil.

Rieger was a college student who was murdered by her boyfriend in 1994. The conference is meant to help the families of murder victims.

Cindy and George Anthony face constant criticism for choosing to support Casey. After telling investigators about Casey's lies, how she stole from the family and even from Caylee's piggy bank, the Anthonys are now dodging questions about whether they fault Casey for anything at all.

The Anthonys appeared on national television for the second day in a row Thursday to talk about their daughter Casey.

"She'd grab my face and go, 'CC I love you.' That's the type of child she was," said Cindy.

"How can we? We don't know what she's been through. I don't know what that girl has been through. George and I are living the same nightmare," Cindy said.

Focusing more attention on themselves, rather than on Caylee is another issue that victims' advocates in Central Florida claim they are outraged over.

"I wrote suicide notes back in July and August. No one knows that," said Cindy.

In July and August the Anthonys were insisting that Caylee was alive. The Anthonys say they don't know what happened to Caylee and say they can't ask Casey certain questions. That may be a sign they know she has the answers, but still they say they give her unwavering support.

"No matter what. That's still our daughter. No matter what," George said.

George says he wants to be a victim's advocate, helping the families of missing or murdered loved ones in Caylee's memory.

However, some advocates are offended by his actions because someone is already under arrest for Caylee's murder. Many of those victim advocates said they don't want his help.

They say the Anthonys have damaged the progress made for victims' rights and for missing person's cases.

Claire fielding's daughter Debra was kidnapped, raped and murdered in April of 2000 in downtown Orlando. She and others believe what brought Caylee here is very different and that George and Cindy Anthony knew that from the beginning.

"I want to talk to more people about that kind of stuff. You can't give up. Even though the days get very hard for you, there are people to talk to besides your own family," said George Anthony.

George Anthony showed up in Putnam County saying he was there to help Haleigh Cummings' family, even though he had told a judge he was too depressed to face a court hearing at that time.

"To me, this whole thing with the Anthonys, it's like a big circus and George and Cindy are the ringmasters," said Fielding.

Fielding is working with the Bereaved Survivors of Homicide in Orange County, a well-established group that quietly helps victims' families.

She says she is disgusted with the Anthonys' network TV appearances and their overtures about helping others.

"If Casey didn't do it somebody did. Why are you not out there instead of going on national television to publicizing whatever it is you want to publicize?" said Fielding.

Casey's next court appearance is on May 28, when her lawyer will try to block the release of her videotaped reaction after she learned Caylee's remains had been found.

I agree, that would be tacky and we all know that we monkeys are classy.  If someone else wrote threatening or derogatory emails regarding the Scamthony's appearance at the conference, I think that is uncalled for, just show them their facts and they can make their own decisions.  I can honestly say that their eyes were probably opened about the Scamthonys by information provided and IMO they made the right decision to remove them. JMO, lovinlife

  The second half of Maggie Rodriguez’s interview of George and Cindy Anthony on the CBS Early Show played like it was the death penalty phase of their daughter Casey Anthony’s trial for murdering her daughter Caylee.

  Rodriguez asked the tough questions Wednesday. This morning was softball time with the Anthonys allowed to paint a picture of Casey as a smart, decent person.

 "Tell me about your daughter," Rodriguez asked. "What was she like growing up?"

  "Casey was just full of energy," Cindy said. "She was very inquisitive. She loved to read. She started reading at a very early age. George used to take her to the library and she’d get four or five books every week and she’d read them all."

  It got softer.

  "What kind of young lady did she grow up to be?" Rodriguez asked George.

  "Oh, very sensitive," he said. "Very caring. The kind of daughter that any father is proud of."

  Uh, I don’t think so, unless you don’t have a problem with your daughter murdering your granddaughter, not to mention stealing from the family and her closest friends and being incapable of telling the truth.
  Rodriguez later asked if the Anthonys fault Casey for anything?

  "How can we?" Cindy answered. "We don’t know what she’s been through."

  Yeah, knowing you murdered your daughter can be a real downer.
  There is one area in which I feel a small amount of sympathy for the Anthonys. Cindy said she and George have not spoken with Casey since Oct. 14 because of the law in Florida that makes all their jailhouse conversations open to the media.

  "So if we go in for a normal visit," Cindy said, "it’s going to be on videotape."

  This doesn’t seem right. I can see the need for jail officials to monitor visits but other than catering to voyeurism and morbid curiosity I don’t see how the public is served by being able to eavesdrop on private conversations between prisoners and their families.

  On the other hand, victims of killers don’t get to have conversations with their families.

  However, as strong as the evidence against her is, Casey still has not been convicted and retains a presumption of innocence. Maybe there should be different rules of privacy for the accused and the convicted.

Cindy Anthony says she thought about taking her own life.

Casey Anthony's parents talked about Cindy contemplating suicide and the couple's unwavering support for their daughter during part two of a national TV interview Thursday morning.

Cindy told CBS' "Early Show" that she considered suicide last summer because she was so worried about Caylee. She said she understood why George would attempt to take his own life.

"I was there, too," said Cindy. "I wrote suicide notes back in end of July and August. No one knows that. I couldn't bear not having Caylee around and not knowing what happened to her. You know you get to a point when you miss someone so much that you think life's not worth living."

Cindy said Casey actually kept her from going through with it. She also said Casey thanked her for calling 911 last July because it was something that she hadn't been able to do.

And George explained why they're standing by their daughter.

"There's some people that just say well we should just be done with it, just go like this and just be done with it," said George. "You can't. That's our daughter."

"No matter what she may or may not have done?" asked the Early Show's Maggie Rodriguez.

"No matter what she's still our daughter," George replied.

The couple also said they don't fault Casey for anything.

"How can we?" asked Cindy. "We don't know what she's been through."

The Anthonys also discussed coping with Caylee's death.

"Do you allow yourself to think about that or is that something that you just need to block out of your mind, what happened to Caylee?" asked Rodriguez.

"We don't know what happened to Caylee," said Cindy.

"Well, we know that she was murdered," said Rodriguez.

"But we don't know what happened to her," Cindy replied.

At the beginning of the interview, Rodriguez asked the Anthonys about Casey as a child. They said she was an early reader and loved to go to the library. And George said she grew up to be a young woman who was sensitive and caring.

"The kind of daughter that any father is proud of," said George. "I mean I'm proud of my daughter."

OPRAH CANCELS INTERVIEW WITH ANTHONYS

Eyewitness News has learned that Oprah Winfrey's planned interview with George and Cindy Anthony has been cancelled. The couple was scheduled to be on the show this May.

"Based on the Anthonys' decision to appear on other programs, we have decided not to move forward with their interview on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' at this time," the show said in a statement released to Eyewitness News on Tuesday afternoon.


HEARING RESCHEDULED

A hearing in the case against Casey Anthony was cancelled according to an email from the Ninth Circuit Judicial Court sent to Eyewitness News on Wednesday morning.

The hearing, scheduled for May 7, has been rescheduled for 10:00am on Thursday, May 28.

Judge Stan Strickland is expected to preside over the hearing, which will deal with the "Emergency Motion for Protective Order" that was filed on March 11, 2009 by Jose Baez.

On July 23, one day after an investigator publicly disclosed the startling details surrounding Caylee Marie Anthony's disappearance -- and suggested she might have been dead -- the toddler's grandmother left a detective a lengthy voicemail.

In the message left for Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. John Allen, Cindy Anthony said her daughter Casey Anthony "had to have help no matter what you think the scenario might be."

"There are people that know information," she said.

Cindy Anthony's voicemail, which was recorded and turned over to prosecutors, was recently released by the State Attorney's Office.

She left the message the day after a detective testified at Casey Anthony's lengthy bond hearing, in which he disclosed Casey's car reeked of death, and strands of hair, a mysterious stain and bits of dirt were found in the trunk.

Anthony asked that detectives look at other things brought to their attention, including a photo of Caylee that was taken at her supposed baby-sitter's apartment.

"I got the feeling yesterday, you know, you guys have already wasted a lot of time trying to point fingers at Casey…." Cindy Anthony said.

"There's a lot of people out there that feel that you guys are starting to lose focus of finding Caylee. I do want to be working with you guys and I don't want to work against you."

In the more than three-minute voicemail, Anthony also talked about her ailing parents and said she wanted to talk to detectives with her husband George Anthony and son Lee Anthony "to clear the air on some things."

We never did hear who that was. And in fact, in August George told us that he had someone following the kidnappers, and no one has ever heard anything more about that.

It`s a family that`s into drama and they never want to tell the truth, and that`s why she`ll never take a plea, because they don`t want to tell the truth. She don`t (sic) want to tell the people she killed her daughter because her mother damn nearly killed her the night before by choking on her.

And Cindy is willing to take instructions from Casey for the rest of her life because she don`t (sic) want Casey to disclose that to the world either. They`re just full of lies no matter what they say.

Right? Good thing I posted our letter last night. I can tell you 100% it was respected and appreciated by it's recipients so good luck with that. Why do you think we made the decision to post it in the first place? I knew about the hate mail they got from WS'rs, and trust me when I tell you they are posters there and they did use the WS name. I agree with Tricia's position that they should not have done that in her site's name. I also can tell you there was a thread rallying for that (and not in a nice way) that if someone were paying attention, would have made an announcement and nipped it in the bud.

I had a poster on blinkoncrime.com post their letter and a link to the conference that I felt accusatory and inappropriate, I deleted the letter and told her why, all still in the comments. Nothing moved to a "basement" just honest people with 2 different perspectives. Anyway, we agreed to disagree on the "delivery" and she came back on today with a rousing applause to a comment one of you put on the WFTV blog attributing the POLITE AND RESPECTFUL way we handled our letter to Dr. and Mrs.  Rieger. Kindness and proper intention win out.

Mr. Klaas was right, people that act like that are no better than the Anthony's.

George and Cindy Anthony's latest media appearances have appalled a crime-victims' advocate.

"To me this whole thing with the Anthonys is like a big circus, and George and Cindy are the ringmasters," Claire Fielding told WFTV-Channel 9. Her daughter, Debbie, was kidnapped and murdered in downtown Orlando nine years ago.

Yet the Anthonys are off the agenda of a homicide victims' conference next month in Connecticut.

"George Anthony appears to be trying to reinvent himself into another John Walsh," WFTV's Kathi Belich said.

The stations yesterday examined how the Anthonys' comments to "The Early Show" contradicted earlier statements.

WFTV played an audio tape from July in which Cindy Anthony told authorities that she believed Casey was involved in Caylee's disappearance -- and that she didn't act alone. "Casey had to have had help," Cindy said then.

WFTV's Jeff Deal called that comment "startling." Casey is charged with Caylee's murder.

WKMG-Channel 6 called attention to Cindy's MySpace page in July, when she was distraught about Caylee. Lee Anthony, Casey's brother, said his parents were worried. But Cindy told "The Early Show" there was no red flag about Caylee until July 15. Cindy's statement didn't seem to ring true, WKMG's Jessica D'Onofrio said.

Why were George and Cindy talking now? D'Onofrio said their attorney, Brad Conway, told they're "opening up in an effort to help others and they will consider very carefully who they talk to."

WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing explained why the Anthonys passed on Oprah Winfrey. Conway told Kealing that Winfrey wanted exclusivity. "When that wasn't going to happen, Conway says the two sides parted ways and her interview was canceled," Kealing said.

Me too Trimm.  I have read and re-read the blurb about the interview and doubt he has any words of wisdom.  What I find fascinating is he was all over the SA to be REMINDED to keep secret what was said behind closed doors last court, yet Bobo is now going all over the news "testing" public feedback on what spin he should use to defended KC.  I truly feel that he is testing the waters to see what the blogs have to say and then is picking the one that the public can poke the least holes in.  If nothing else he is now also tainting the jury pool..  Shame Bobo...shame..calling the kettle black then sneaking in behind to add some more spin.  JMO

On July 23, one day after an investigator publicly disclosed the startling details surrounding Caylee Marie Anthony's disappearance -- and suggested she might have been dead -- the toddler's grandmother left a detective a lengthy voicemail.

In the message left for Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. John Allen, Cindy Anthony said her daughter Casey Anthony "had to have had help no matter what you think the scenario might be." Listen to the message here.

"There are people that know information," she said.

Cindy Anthony's voicemail, which was recorded and turned over to prosecutors, was recently released by the State Attorney's Office.

She left the message the day after a detective testified at Casey Anthony's lengthy bond hearing, in which he disclosed Casey's car reeked of death, and strands of hair, a mysterious stain and bits of dirt were found in the trunk.

Anthony asked that detectives look at other things brought to their attention, including a photo of Caylee that was taken at her supposed baby-sitter's apartment.

"I got the feeling yesterday, you know, you guys have already wasted a lot of time trying to point fingers at Casey…." Cindy Anthony said.

"There's a lot of people out there that feel that you guys are starting to lose focus of finding Caylee. I do want to be working with you guys and I don't want to work against you."

In the more than three-minute voicemail, Anthony also talked about her ailing parents and said she wanted to talk to detectives with her husband George Anthony and son Lee Anthony "to clear the air on some things."   She continues this rant as we all witnessed in her OCSO interview

The earlier pics of Caylee she looked happy and healthy. The later pics of Caylee, she looked like she lost her excitement for life, and looked unhealthy to me. I agree NRCG, her color went from pretty pinky to an almost greyish color too it seems from the photos.  I think to physically see this, like George and Cindy MUST have if they were as attentive as they claim, and to not do anything about it is ALMOST AS BAD as what Casey has done.  To ignore it was just as bad as condoning it.

My letter was also very nice...and I didn't get a reply either.

You could never over-do it with photo's of Caylee.
I definantly see a skin tone change between her earlier pictures and her later ones.  She looks pastey and gray in her later photos, she looks healthy and "tan" in her earlier ones.  Her later ones skin tone reminds me of those from a nursing home that are ill and on more medications food.

When my dad was still alive he had heart probs.  Right before he would have major heart attacks he would get that grey look too.  I think it could be a sign of lack of oxygen which might be attributed to alleged chloroform abuse.

That little red mark by her eye looks like the ones my son gets.  And NO he is not abused.  He occasionally gets little burst blood vessels and they stay forever.  Even at the age of 12 he still gets them and has one now.  No one knows why he gets them and I have asked the ped about it and she said it just happens to some kids.   It could also be a scratch from a doggy nail  :smt102

The A's and BOZO keep bitching about how the case is being tried in the media because of all the "discovery documents" that have been released and that they can't go visit Casey because the video visits can be released and played on the nightly news.

If I recall, months ago...the state filed a motion to put a gag order in place and old BOZO argued against it.

If he'd have just STFU well over half the documents that have been released wouldn't have been seen till trial and the Anthony's and slore could meet to scream at each other a couple times a week and nobody would be wiser.

They have no one to blame but themselves.

Note to the Anthonys:  your Grand daughter was missing, what did you do????  You know Casey best???  You looked in the damn backyard under the pavers!!!!!!  What does that say????

You are right Pink.  They can not blame the media either when they are the ones out trying to book the Fiarwell Tour.

It's entirely possible there is another explanation. For me, it's something intangible that bothers me most. Like a light went out of Caylee's eyes in those later photos.

I watched it and Casey appears to me to be playing with Caylee -- kind of a peekaboo deal. I don't see anything that leads me to believe it was for unsavory purposes.

I have been thinking about Cindy's claim that she was suicidal the last of July and first of Aug. This is in contradiction to her actions and events at that time. IIRC Casey promised that Caylee would be home by her birthday,Aug.6. Both Cindy and George professed their unwavering support and confidence in the lies Casey was spinning.(Remember the whole timer 55 yarn.)They even discussed and planned the birthday party in one of the jailhouse visits. I think it was July 30 when George was talking about a small party verses a big celebration,yada,yada. Now Cindy wants us to believe that she was on the one hand planning a celebration and on the other planning suicide? Cindy has once again exposed herself for the liar she is! She knew at this early date that Caylee was not coming home alive.Why kill yourself when your beloved grandaughter will be home for her third birthday? She cannot have it both ways.

I found that odd too that in several of the videos "the person taking the video" is quiet as a mouse. In all the videos I used to take of my babies (they're grown up now and now I do it with my grandkids) but you can hear MEEEEEEEEEE laughing, talking, etc more than you can the kids cause I cant contain my excitement.

Perhaps, but one cannot admit that they are addressing an in-house situation & then go trying to blame others.   Deal with the site problem at hand & leave it at that.   Now, this was just an extension of doing damage control by diversion tactics & in a not so subtle way insulting other places in the process.   Whether its true there are places on the internet that are not as considerate as we have the pleasure & respect here, it just doesnt bode well for that site to point fingers elsewhere when their hands were caught in the cookie jar, so to speak.

I have also wondered if the trials of potty training got to Casey and she flipped out killing Caylee.  Some folks cannot handle that aspect of child rearing and go to extremes to get their child potty trained.

Hello Everyone!

I want to thank you all for your condolences on the loss of my Golden Sandy. I miss her so much.  My husband thought I'd feel better and keep busy with a baby beagle. She keeps me busy, but Sandy is still on my mind.  The baby beagle is 8 weeks old today. Funny she's from the same breeder we got our Murphy beagle from (in my avatar) and she doesn't breed her dogs often, but just had 3 babies and they were going in today's paper.  So I've been busy crying over Sandy and taking care of the baby.

Haven't read the last 60 pages...so I'm way behind. Kealing has an interview coming on local news at 11 with Beaz...how he thinks Casey is innocent. I'm going to try and stay up for it. Casey innocent? Give me a break!!!  ::MonkeyRoll::

As a disclaimer, I will say that I was not one of the letter writers, but I do read here almost every day. Actually..it's probably more like almost every hour.

First, Tricia- I understand and appreciate what you are trying to say, but do you have proof that anyone actually said they were speaking on behalf of Websleuths? This is an open forum, that anyone (even nonmembers) can access. How do you know that either MK or the Organizers didn't just read here and see the discussions about the conference? Are you sure people actually wrote to them stating that "I am a spokesperson for Websleuths, and we are organizing an email campaign"? That seems highly unlikely to me.


Secondly, I understand that you don't want your site's name being used in these campaigns. However, if you open up the site for public membership and allow these discussions and contact postings to take place, then it's a natural consequence that the site's name is going to come up in any emails subsequently sent as a result of that posted contact info.
For example..."To whom it may concern, I got this email address from websleuths... I am writing because..."

Also, technically, although you privately own websleuths, you do allow membership and public postings. Therefore, when someone is a member, they have a user name, and they have posted approved public messages on a moderated site that have not been deleted or altered, then they are a legitimate member of the community. When you provide the infrastructure, and display their messages publicly, you are affirming their membership and message in your community. It seems unreasonable to ask them to disavow that membership when they speak on the same topic using the same words elsewhere.

Ultimately, I think you are either going to have to ammend your policy to say that NO external contact postings are allowed, or else just accept the fact that the websleuths name is going to be used in those emails. After all, it's the truth isn't it? Would those emails have been sent had this discussion board not existed? In essence, doesn't that mean this discussion board did in fact support the email campaign?

Please don't take this the wrong way. I am not trying to be combative or argumentative. I simply see this as a problem that is never going to go away for you. I personally have NO problem with your stance on the matter, and I promise never to use the Websleuths name myself... I just see a lot of grief and a lot more of these same postings from you in the future unless some policy changes take place.

I don't know if it has been discussed or not but here's my 2 cents. 

I had the worst potty training experience with my son.  It took over a year and even now we still have issues!  It is a trying thing to get thru and I cried many tears over it.  I never wanted to kill him though. 

Personally, I don't think slore spent enought time paying any attention to Caylee to even let it bother her.  If Caylee had accidents, which I'm sure she had many as any child does who is going thru that time in their life, I would tend to believe that slore would just wait until someone else came along (CA) and fixed the problem.

I can see how this can become a big issue. My youngest daughter, would not potty train, I tried everything, she was afraid of the toilet  ::MonkeyRoll:: and when she finally at the age of three would sit on it, every piece of clothing even hair ties would have to come off, or she wouldn't sit on the toilet. So, I can see how someone might flip from toilet training. I don't think Casey took that much time in trying to potty train Caylee.

yuppers... what Im amazed at is the media isnt picking up on Cindy making threats of sorts to Sgt Allen in that ranting voice mail.   I think the main point of why she called was to say if they didnt so such and such as Cindy wanted she would take things to the media.    She was also still miffed that detectives in the normal course of their procedural jobs told her that they would have to speak to her parents on pertinent information regarding the case -- she didnt give a rats behind about their health, she didnt want the truth to come out about Casey stealing her grandparents money, etc. etc. and so on

That's true, and since Cindy supposedly had Caylee in the pool after visiting the nursing home, the fight with Casey could have happened right after they got out of the pool, and Casey left with Caylee she could have still been wearing the swim pull up.

That is an excellent question! It may have been too degraded to tell,I'm not sure. It would help pipoint the time of death. I get so angry with KC as I type this.

They work better than regular diapers but not really that great.  They still fill with water.  Not something you'd like your child to be sitting in for a long period of time.  But with this group, who knows?

Hopefully LE looked into the type of pullup it was.
I still have a hard time clearing CA from involvement in what happened to Caylee. Simply because shes been so harsh to LE from the get go. Pointing her finger at everyone and anyone she can blame. Often when LE sees this type of behavior happen often the person making a whole lot of noise is involved in the crime in some way or form.

What I remember about the swimmy pullups is that they are not meant to hold much water (for obvious reasons). I made the mistake once of leaving one on when my 5yo was little, and lets just say it all leaked out. The regular kind will hold alot, and just expand as they get wet. Even they have there limits too of course, but the swimmies don't hold in the water, they are also much thinner too.

WESH-Channel 2 promises to tell us how Casey Anthony could walk away from a murder indictment. WKMG-Channel 6 says it will "break some new ground" in the case against Anthony.

And public relations experts are baffled by the young woman's parents, George and Cindy Anthony, who blew an interview set up with Oprah Winfrey in favor of a two-part appearance on CBS' Early Show.

This is what happens when the Casey Anthony case meets television's May ratings period, which began Thursday.

"We're going to be breaking some new ground in the Casey Anthony case in the next few weeks," WKMG news director Steve Hyvonen said. "Tony Pipitone will do investigations."

Like it or not, the case promises to be a recurring topic in May, and WESH wasted no time. As The Early Show concluded its two-part interview with the Anthonys, WESH countered with an exclusive interview with Anthony attorney Jose Baez.

"Obviously, what happened in the woods is critical," Baez told WESH, alluding to a wooded area where the remains of Caylee Marie Anthony were discovered in December.

WESH reporter Bob Kealing conducted a half-hour interview with Baez this week that will be spread among other reports in coming weeks.

"He's not doing multiple interviews," Kealing said. "There will be follow-up material. We've made a commitment to cover the story in sweeps and non-sweeps."

In Thursday's report, Kealing examined how Anthony might be acquitted of the murder of her daughter, Caylee. In a preview, Kealing said the spot where Caylee's remains were found has become the key battleground in the case. He also said the case "will undoubtedly be one of the biggest trials Central Florida has ever seen."

WFTV-Channel 9 news director Bob Jordan, however, sees some Casey withdrawal.

"There's some fatigue in this story," he said. "Viewers are interested when there's a significant new development. I think they're tired of anything that smells like a rehash."

Events in the case will dictate how much WFTV does, Jordan said.

Jordan and his competitors stress that new technology has made obsolete the traditional, four-times-a-year ratings periods known as "sweeps." Local People Meters supply detailed ratings data the next day, so every month becomes sweeps month.

But sweeps remain a big deal in small markets -- unlike No. 19 Orlando -- that don't have the Local People Meters.

Oprah Winfrey knows the importance of sweeps. She announced an exclusive interview with the Anthonys for the ratings period. But when they turned up elsewhere, the Winfrey people said the chat was off.

The Anthonys' approach confounded public-relations pros.


"If you're trying to reach a larger audience, it's tough to beat Oprah," said Mason Moore, director of public relations at Fry Hammond Barr in Orlando. "If they had done the interview with Oprah, they'd be on the Internet, on Twitter. They would have reached a ton of people."

Losing the Oprah forum was a big deal, said Ron Sachs, who specializes in crisis management at Ron Sachs Communications in Tallahassee.

"An interview with her is the single most important venue you can book," Sachs said. "She is beloved. Most journalists are not beloved. Oprah is the nation's opinion shaper. She is probably the single most important influence, below the president of the United States."

I know Oprah is saying that she cancelled the interview with the A's because she wanted an exclusive - but I still wonder how much all the emails, etc. played into her decision.

thanks to you and Fanny - I have been trying to keep up with lurkreading but y'all are quick monkeys!  I'm so relieved about the Oprah and Rieger functions being cancelled.  I hope it was an oversight that the media reported them receiving hate mail and threats - everyone I know was most respectful if they wrote to protest.  I think Blink's letter was a masterpiece.  Oh well, sometimes things get exaggerated in the press.

I just wish we would get some kind of a doc dump.  It's making me not very pleasant to live with...

Cindy Anthony implicates Casey in phone message

In a phone message left on the answering machine of Orange County lead detective John Allen, Cindy Anthony seems to implicate her daughter in the disappearance of Caylee.

The message(listen) dates back to July 23, 2008 during the height of the search for Caylee. Cindy is telling Allen to focus on a picture of Caylee that she says was taken at the babysitter's house. She also talks about the rocky relationship she has had with investigators, saying wants to work with, not against, detectives.

Near the end of the message she makes a comment about Caylee's disappearance:

"Casey had to have help no matter what you think the scenario might be," she said. "So there are people that know information."

The message was released by the state attorney's office as part of discovery evidence.

Casey's Former Friend Files Motion To Object Baez Request

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Another person involved in the case against Casey is fighting a request filed by Casey Anthony's attorney.

Jose Baez filed a motion (read Baez motion) weeks ago asking a judge to order several people including Amy Huizenga, Casey's former best friend, to turn over all of their cell phone and internet records.


However, Huizenga's lawyer filed paperwork (read objection motion) to fight the request.

The attorney for meter reader Roy Kronk, has already done that and the lawyer for Deputy Richard Cain plans to do the same.

Cain was fired for the way he handled tips in the case.


ANTHONYS OFF CONFERENCE AGENDA DUE TO THREATS

George and Cindy were scheduled to be keynote speakers at the Melanie Ilene Rieger's memorial conference next month in Connecticut. However, Eyewitness News discovered Thursday that the Anthonys were taken off the agenda after the organizers received hate mail and threats.

Casey Anthony: Will we be seeing more of George and Cindy?

Don't look for George and Cindy Anthony to keep a low profile after they talked to CBS' "Early Show" this week.

The parents of Casey Anthony are getting more interview requests, their attorney, Brad Conway, told WKMG-Channel 6. Casey is charged with murdering her daughter, Caylee Marie.

The Anthonys won't be talking to the media on a daily basis, Conway told WKMG's Louis Bolden.

Is that a relief to hear? Or would you George and Cindy on a daily basis?

WKMG's Web site is sharing portions of the Anthony interview that didn't air on CBS.

WESH-Channel 2's Amanda Ober said the Anthonys had hoped to call more attention to the their new foundation through the CBS interview. But Ober noted that reporter Maggie Rodriguez only briefly mentioned the foundation as the segment ended this morning.

It doesn't seem the interview was a mission accomplished for the Anthonys.

Since we are patiently awaiting Bozo  Baez's interview & hopefully a new doc dump, I would like to ask about something that keeps puzzling me.  This has probably already been discussed here, but I'll ask anyway.

On NG, LP has referred to Casey at a motel/hotel.  I haven't found that info anywhere else.

Here is a snip from the NG transcript from last week (April 16):

"PADILLA:“Well, they have to track the social life to make sure that Caylee was not seen after the 16th -- right. But, see, George didn`t see her walking out of the house. The child was dead about 1:15, 1:30 in the morning. The last time she was seen by one of the gentleman at the local hotels where the towers ping as if she was at the house or that hotel, it would ping the same. The gentleman saw her in the parking lot of the hotel walking into the park with the child.”

Please forgive me if you have already discussed this.

LP has been telling that "Casey in a hotel parking lot" story for months.  He was saying that there was video of her ... though I never saw it.  Now the whole "walking into the park with the child" is a new addition to the story.  I remain unconvinced by the LPisms ...
