You know we are here for you.  You have become my hero in all that you have gone through.  Right this moment I am praying for a good outcome and I know everyone else is going to be doing the same.  You are not alone. We love you.

What Lala's said Peaches.  I will say a prayer that your surgery will go well and I'm sure everything will be fine.

Peaches ... if you let Him ... God will grant you both strength and peace as he carries you through the storm.  Just reach up.

Sincerely, Janet

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

I can't dance today.  Too depressed.  Shouldn't clutter the LCD with this but there's nothing going on anyway.

I have to have some surgery on Wednesday.  It turns out as I was busy having ovarian cancer, something else was busy expanding on my right adrenal gland.  Since I've had 3 CT scans, they've been watching it.  Now whatever it is is more than 6 cm which means it has to come out.

Good news for me is we know it is not a pheochromocytoma.  You medical types know what that means.   And it's on the right and not the left (bigger structures in the way).  But it has to come out.

Ovarian cancer doesn't usually spread to the adrenal glands.  From my CT scan, it appears the ovarian cancer has gone packing.  And that's great.   But what is this thing on my adrenal gland?

I guess I'll find out on Wednesday.  My surgeon's plan is to try to get this out laparoscopically.  If that doesn't work, then they will convert to an open procedure.   How exciting.

Alrighty then.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Peaches!   (((hugs))).  Dag nab it.  Sometimes it seems like it is always something.  I am SURE everything will turn out just fine.

I will hold you up in my prayers for a full recovery and good report.  I KNOW in my heart everything will be fine.

Thank you all.  I will have Mr. Peaches check in here on Wednesday nite.  I have to check in at 930a for an 11:30 a.m. surgery so by the time he leaves the hospital, he'll have some news.

I hate to have to have surgery again.  My surgeon is a great guy.  He put in my chest port that I was using for chemo so it's not as if we're not acquainted.  Doesn't make it any better though.  It's still surgery and regular anesthesia.

Can somebody fill me in on Sunfreak's situation??

From what I understand Sunfreak had good news.  The cancer is confined to her arm and that seems very treatable at this time.  I am so happy for her.  She has been through a lot lately also.

Oh Peaches, how disappointing for you.  It is good they found it however,  and can take a proactive stance though.  I know you are not looking forward to more surgery, so we will pray the laparoscopic technique will work for you.  I am sorry this is happening to you, you really have been through enough.

Peaches!

What AZSunny said.

You sure have been through enough already.

Prayers that this goes as easily as possible for you.

Peaches - I'm so sorry to hear about this - {{{ Peaches }}}. Really hoping that the invasive surgery won't be required; that's half the battle right there ...

SunFreak had pretty good news; Stage IIB, apparently meaning it's contained to the area of the melanoma. Further surgery at the spot  (margins?) which will be fairly drastic, considering - a 3 or 4 inch diameter hole in her arm. Plus some further treatment, but that I'm not clear about. I talked to her Friday night and she sounded really upbeat.

Peaches -

Stay strong through the final turn.  Since you've known about this for a bit, the good news is you won't have to worry about it anymore once it's out.  Best wishes for a "light" surgery procedure...and a speedy recovery.

Annie.

p.s. Janet, I just LOVE your posts.  They calm my soul amidst my own trials and tribulations!   Wink

Peaches,

Echoing what everyone else has said, I, too, am so sorry you have to go through this.  We all love you & your spirit, so don't let this get you down.  I'll be praying that the outcome will be a good one.

Annie ... we are all travelling down this road call life together and ... some of the bumps in the road are impossible to navigate on our own strength.  It is then that we reach out to other for support ... we reach out to God for the strength and peace that only He can give ... "the peace that passes all understanding".

Annie ... today you encouraged me with your words.  Thank you.

Peaches,

I know this is disappointing and I wish I could give you a huge hug right now, but please remember because of all this vigilance and heads-up by your doctors they are catching this sooner than later. It's all about managing it, it doesn't make it any easier for you to endure, but they caught it and perhaps early enough to keep this laproscopic. God blessed you thusfar and God will again, I'm praying for that for you and your sweet family. Godspeed and we all are with you !
