I was reading through Magic Eye's Trial Recap thread and had a thought,

(Page 1, last post- #19)

if a person was going to park their vehicle next to a dumpster, and they had garbage in the car, wouldn't a normal person toss their garbage into the dumpster?

We know this didn't happen because when the car was at the tow yard, a bag of garbage, allegedly from Tony Lazzaro's house, was still inside the trunk.

I believe I read that Tony Lazzaro had access dumpsters in his apt complex. 

Why didn't Casey drop the garbage off when she left Tony Lazzaro's?

Why didn't Casey remove the garbage when parked next to a dumpster?

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Day 19 of Casey Anthony's murder trial begins on Thursday and it could be the day jurors see recorded video of Casey in jail, dismissing the theory that Caylee drowned.
It's from a conversation between Casey and her parents when they visited her in the Orange County Jail shortly after she was arrested in August 2008.

The defense tried to object to that video on Wednesday to keep it from being admitted to trial. But Judge Belvin Perry told Jose Baez that the time for those objections passed long before the trial began.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the case against Casey Anthony said they plan to show the jury videos of Casey's jailhouse visitation conversations with her family.

Prosecutors expect the jury to see the videos within the next day or so. They said the taped conversations could be some of the strongest evidence against her.

“Somneone just said that Caylee was dead this morning, that she drowned in the pool,” Cindy Anthony said to Casey in one of the calls.

“Surprise, surprise,” Casey answered.

I was thinking about things on my morning run and just wondered when society reached a point where there is no honor in law?  Honor would prevent an atty from doing some of the things we've seen in this (and other) cases.  Victims blamed, incest insinuated, friends blamed, etc...everything but the responsible parties being held accountable for their own actions.  It's just sad.

If it was an accident, why change "the story" many times and spend almost 3 years in jail.  Plus not taking the plea deal in oct 08. This doesn't make any sense to me.

P.S.  By taking a plea deal(at that time 08) casey would have to tell what happened.  Guys I bet if she did take it back then,she would not of told the complete truth.

She probably wanted ppl to think, if the trunk was opened in the future the trash and squirrrels on the frame of her car made the smell.

My thoughts, she parked nexted to it so the smell of the car wouldn't stand out.  People would just think it's the dumpster.

My question(which will never be answered)why didn't casey stay by the car to be picked up?  Casey was walking when Tony picked her up?

Also since Amy testified, she bought casey a gas can.  Was that gas can recovered when LE took the car?

Good morning, Monkeys!  I think one of the most telling things about the so-called "drowning" video is the way Casey says, "surprise, surprise".  As if she is bored by the speculation, and really, everyone should just get over the whole Caylee thing.  If I were a juror, I'd be appalled at her lack of emotion.  Does this play into the defense's posturing about her fantasy world?

last night they talked about the gatorade bottle with the syringe that had trace amounts of chloroform i guess i forgot about that part being near or in the bag with Caylee that should seal the deal no?

They begain the cover up almost immediately. The one and only jailhouse call that cindy was  honest! the first call home! that we heard . Cindy telling casey "we dont know what your involvement was sweet heart your not telling us the truth.

After that the lies began. The car clean up! the washer,dryer,freezer were all replaced.
For three years we have had to sift through all the lies that were made by the anthonys. They repeatedly when on nation t.v and spun more lies. I dont  see how jose can think he can humiliate and embarass cindy about making money. The irony is he has made as much. He and casey have sold pics to fund her defense. I dont know what he did with that money for those and all his other appearances.

I suspect he is wearing some of the money and perhaps the down payment on his two houses that went into forclosure.


If casey thinks he has saved money for her r.v ministry! well she has another shocker coming. But he knew she wouldn't walk so he spent most of it if not all. But I am curious about! how is he making money now? he is married to this case until the end! he cant work on other cases he is literaly tied to this case day in and day out until the end.

I dont think he will be practicing law after this. At one time there was rumor that he was going to be a legal analyst  for fox which is where geraldo rivera works. than there was telemundo hispanic station.

I think he will be disbarred after this. I dont know if you can be a legal analyst if your disbarred. But what do I know I can only assume. ::MonkeyEek::

Big thanks to Bright Eyes for the summaries!  I can't watch the trial at work, and most of the news stations are doing detailed coverage on Twitter these days, which I also can't access at work, so I am waaaaaay behind when I get home.  I don't have the time or the attention span to go through hours of video or 80-100 pages of monkey posts when I get home, so it's really nice to be able to read your posts and feel like I'm caught up on all the details, not just what the news decides is worth covering in their daily wrap-up.  Thank you!  ::MonkeyKiss::

Wow, you mean I can watch the trial on my phone? I have an iphone and it's been driving me nuts trying to find a good app for watching when I need to go somewhere.  I have the CNN app....  I can try that as a last resort?

What type of vehicle did Tony drive?

Tony offered to look over the car and see what was wrong with it. 

Casey said her Dad would take care of it.

It seems to me, Casey pulled her car into a remote area, aside a dumpster, of a high traffic parking lot- leaving her purse in full view on her seat.  This was to "tempt" someone to steal this car.

Casey was walking away from the vehicle after she set this up and wanted to get away from the vehicle before Tony, being the stand up guy he is, went over to check the car out.

In answer to my own post, Casey probably wiped the trunk off for prints and didn't want to risk someone witnessing her with the trunk open.  She knew what was in that trunk and didn't want to be found "with the goods".

No not the CNN app.  You need to download the Skyfire Video app, costs $2.99 on Android (that's what I have).  Then, once you have the app open, go to CNN Live.com or wftv.com in the web address section, select menu on your phone, click on the little video tab that pops up, and in  a perfect world, with 3G running smoothly, the live feed will pop up! It may be a little different for iPhone, but I know there is at least a monkey or two using a iphone at work to listen....

Yes links are at the beginning of this thread.  I don't do it but maybe others that have it working can help.  It does work though on iPhone and Android from what I hear.

i hope so, cant imagine the jury thinking someone else did it or that she did not do it...what they wont be able to get over is that the tape was put on her BEFORE she died which yes maybe casey thought putting that on her and throwing her in the pool would do it not sure

I keep hearing all the legal pundits say that the only hope for the defense making their story stick, is to put Casey on the stand.  Sounds like a sure path to her demise, to most people.  But she is such a great liar, and appears to have no conscience whatsoever, that it wouldn't surprise me for Jose to view that as her only strength at this point in the game, and go ahead and put her up there. After all, can it really get any worse than it already is?   What say the monkeys?

Tony drove a truck, I believe it was green.  He was actually here on this forum in the very early days.  I asked him and Casey did NOT have his permission to drive his truck when he was in NY, and I believe she did drive it at least once.

I just love being a part of this group.  Just sayin'.   

Although my husband has (surprisingly) gotten more into this trial than I ever expected, he still can't help me with answers to things that come up.  One thing I've wondered this week is because of that video of the birthday party they've started showing at times on NG.  Does anyone know who the guy is that pretends to sing into Caylee's little karoke microphone?  Semi-balding and I don't recall ever seeing him before.  Just pure curiosity wondering who he is...doesn't really bother me just pure nosiness, I guess.

However...the following does bother me and has for a long time.  IF they play this part of the jail video visit, I wonder what the jury will make of it because I haven't been able to make sense of it in my mind over these 2+ years.   I'm referring to the time Casey blurts out after Cindy says they've forgiven her for whatever she might have said (also wonder how that will go over now!) and Casey says something to the effect of (paraphased): "Don't worry.  I haven't said anything."   That is one of those cliff-hangers that makes my head hurt.

When I was listen to her talk-about Zanny on the tapes-I find myself forgeting there is no Zanny--thats how good of a liar she is-if I were talking to the police about anything --telling the truth-I would sound like I was a liar --I would be so nervous--not kc  nreves of steel ::MonkeyNoNo::

She will have to get on the stand. I have not doubt that SHE thinks  can lie her way out of this just as she has all her life. Jeff will let her hang herself and then he will tighten the noose!~

That line and when she would say, I don't know where my daughter is, always bothered me.  They were part of the reason I thought someone else was involved, at least in the disposal.  I am now done figuring out or trying to tie other people into it. She  has sat in jail 3 years being a stink bottom to everyone but her defense team, and the best she come up with was it was an accident, I knew all along and some stranger stole her body.  I hope the jury feels the same way I do - disgusted and dismayed at her badness.  There was a great deal of talk about whether the jury understood the concept innocent until proven guilty.  I hope the defense realizes the majority of people watching this trial probably now think she is guilty as sin and that presumption is gone.  I can only hope they continue doing the bang up job they've done so far.

I  hope this doesn't come across as harsh towards you, I am kinda mad at myself for having wasted time thinking up reasons for her badness.  I feel like in some sense I gave her the benefit of the doubt in believing anything she said was true and from now on I'm coming at it that the defense has to prove everything (glad I'm not on that jury).

I have an iPhone and I use skyfire with CNN live but it does go out for me sometimes.

I take the pundits with a big grain of salt. All that matters is what the jury thinks. We are the jury.. The jury is made up of folks like us... and I think they have been stunned by all the info coming out. I doubt at this point they believe the molestation stories..

This morning they were talking about Zanny on HLN, and I was thinking to myself...  how messed up that is to find somebody at random, who fits with the fake story she's concocted, and accuse that person of stealing her child.   It's inexcusable, whether Casey killed Caylee, or whether she just found her dead of an accidental drowning.  If it WAS accidental, why take it to this extreme? That's why I find it ridiculous that anybody could possibly believe that Casey did all of this because she was abused. It just doesn't fly.

I would love to see it b/c don't think she has ever been really called on it.  Even when the police spoke to her at the room in disney they had to be careful it wasn't too harsh.  On the stand she can't run and she'll have to answer the questions.  I think that when she can't run, just quit talking or influence the questioner by her tears, she'll get NASTY.

Thanks, Brandi.  I know where the list of streams are, I just wanted to find one that is working for Android.  I stress myself out every morning, because I think some of the websites change slightly, especially CNN Live where there are several different live videos playing.  The links on page 1 don't necessarily always work for the Android Skyfire video app unfortunately.

The interview is coming in - I don't think the jury is going to understand the point of whether her miranda rights were read or not read other than to infer more impropriety by the police.  The defense loses credibility when they accuse EVERYBODY of some bad ulterior motive in regards to Casey.  They should save it for a couple key witnesses vs. everyone she knew.

My thoughts exactly.  When the defense questions the witness about imaginary people I think it helps the state.  I don't see how it's helping the defense at all.  Just reinforces the fact that Casey was a liar.

They were simply carting her around to places SHE said she left Caylee with the Nanny, Sawgrass..and where she worked and Jeff H worked ..Universal. They were letting her run the show taking them to places she had lied about..that's all.  Too bad she was too stupid to realize they weren't buying what she was selling. 

She wasn't under arrest yet..so no need to mirandize Casey until that point.

I LOVE how Yuri looks and speaks directly to the jurors.  He's a great witness! 

Yuri is such a wonderful witness and it is sooo clear how badly he wants justice for caylee.  The way he talks to the jury is amazing and shows them great respect.  I know the jurors definitely appreciate that.

a death sentence is automatic appeal, if I'm not mistaken.  I was really concerned early on that there could later be a successful appeal based on ineffective council.  It was way early in it, before all the other attorneys came on board.  I didn't save any of the stuff I read up on but I remember being fairly confident then (again before all the other attorneys were added) that she couldn't win on that.

my husband I were just discussing how the inflections in his speech, his facial expressions and how he looks at the jury make him an excellent, believable and likeable witness

Didn't she tell a previous witness that "I'm a great liar?"  She is definitely proud of her ability for sure.

Hello Monkeys...I've missed you all.

Klaas, please don't move as I have a valid point...

My 9 y/o suffered a Grand Mal after wrestling at Eastern Nationals. His CT scan, bloodwork & cultures were all normal, however suffered concussion for several hours. We followed up with a Pediatric Neurology specialist on board with Christiana as well as AI DuPont. His EEG was abnormal as it showed Rolandic peaks & dips & I was told he will outgrow this by puberty. We followed up with an MRI bc of the abnormal EEG & the neuro found something that may be more serious. Right now it looks like it "could" be Measial Temporal Sclerosis but will follow up with another MRI in 5-6 months, if it shows again then he'll have a few other tests to determine if that's actually it. It could be genetic but we all believe it's from an old football injury (he's played since 4 y/o). His left side isn't symmetrical with his righ side of his brain now, could be due to jarring a bad hit or even helmet to helmet contact. We are praying for the best. My son is intelligent & athletic. If this is actually what it is, he would need that scar tissue removed to prevent further seizures, otherwise it could effect his quality of life in his future. He's never had a seizure before, this was the first time. This is why I haven't posted in quite some time. We're going through hell.

Ok, here's my point... Blink wrote an amazing article on Chiari Malformation. If Casey truly had a seizure as Jesse said, even if het CT showed up as normal, they would have advised her to follow up with her family doctor, as well as neurologist, and an EEG would then be the next step. Most CT scans show normal even if there was a true seizure, which is why an EEG is necessary. This is not something a psychiatrist can determine, it would need to be a neurologist, however they could work hand in hand. Chiari is genetic and could be determined by mapping her DNA to see if Caylee could have had it. I seriously doubt it. Her Defense was stretching it there. An EEG can also show PPD, MPD, ADHD, etc but it's still in trials right now. Harvard, Yale, UCLA Med among others are doing these studies and have been for some years now. It is my belief that an EEG was not done on Casey & I also doubt she was seen by a Neurologist, and maybe that's one of the reasons the psychologists were taken off the record list by Baez. He is establishing she is a pathological liar, no duh. She will lose but be able to appeal. On appeal she could see a neuro & have indepth brain testing that could determine something medical. This is why I think Baez is doing what he's doing. His job is to save her life. She's not walking away free. He is gaining her reasons for appeal.

Yuri Melich, the lead investigator in the Casey Anthony murder case, returned to the stand this morning as the third witness of the day.

He was called after state attorneys questioned a manager at Universal Studios who told deputies Casey Anthony had not worked at Universal Studios since 2006.

Casey Anthony had told investigators and others that she worked at the theme park, but Leonard Turtora, an assistant manager of loss prevention, said she had worked for Color Vision, a third-party vendor.

Turtora told that to lead investigator Melich, who called Casey Anthony to the park.

All this happened before Anthony, now 25, was charged with killing daughter Caylee Marie Anthony in 2008.

I do think he has witnesses on the sentencing phase that he "HOPES" will say something positive..ie..they love her or like her..and actually they are Casey's family members and extended family. State first witness is Jeffrey Hopkins, they are returning the jury:

How old are you? 26.  Do you know Casey?  Yes, since middle school.  Just acquaintances.  Worked at Universal Studios in 2002, never worked with Casey.  Never introduced Casey Anthony to Zenaida, never lived in Jacksonville.  Met her in 2008 at the Ale house, it was unexpected, not planned they were both just there at the same time.  Made small talk, exchanged numbers.  Never saw her again since July 7, 2008.  Got mass text msgs from Casey concerning Fusion.  Doesn't know Zanny, never introduced Casey to Zanny.  Casey never told him Caylee was missing.  Mr George done.     

Baez questioning,
Are you Jeffrey Michael Hopkins, No.  Only knew Casey in school.  They may of had a crush on each other.  Never had a son Zach.  Never knew anything about Zanny the Nanny.  All of these stories do not pertain to him and he knows nothing about what happened to Caylee.

Next witness, Leonard Turtora,

Works at Universal, security, works with Orlando Police.  Met Det Melich, Det Allen and Det Wells assisted them.  Asked him if Casey was a current employee?  Found that she was not a current employee but found out that she had been employed by a Third Party business, not Universal.  She was employed by Color Vision but not since April 2006.  He checked for Jeffrey Hopkins, he was employed from late 2001 to 2002.  He checked for Juliet Lewis, she was never employed.  He checked for Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzales and Zenaida Gonzales, she was never employed. He checked for her boss Tom Manly, he was never employed.  He talked to Casey Anthony on speaker phone but he didn't know what she was talking about.  He heard her agree to come to Universal.  They later came to Universal.  He met Det. Melich, Allen, Wells and Casey Anthony at Universal.  They parked 50 feet from the security gate.  He asked her if she was a current employee and she didn't have her ID on her, she said she didn't know if she had her ID number, she did not.  She said she worked in events.  He asked planning or entertainment, she said a little of both, that was not possible.  They looked her up in the data base and her supposed boss and he didn't exist.  She started walking them to a building that he knew that it was not the Event's building.  They kept walking and Det Melich asked Mr. Turtora if this was the Event building?  He said no.  Casey put her hands in her back pockets and said she did not work there.  Det Melich, other Detectives and Casey went into a conference room.  He saw a Det come out once to use a cell phone.  They were then done in the room and left the property.

Mason questioning,
Did you already know by the time they got there, that Casey didn't work there?  Did you know it was a sham?  No.  Did you make it clear to the det that she didn't work there?  You verified it in the computer? Yes.  You knew she was only working there as a 3rd party?  Yes.  Was Casey crying? No.  Det Allen and Det Wells were also there.  Even though you knew you she didn't work there, you let her walk to an arbitrary building?  Yes sir.  Took two minutes to walk to the building.  Let her walk to the building, walk down a hallway and let her say I don't work here.  Mason is blaming it on this guy.  Mason says they already knew she didn't work there.  No one gave her Miranda rights, took her to a small room.  Mason trying to show how small a room it was that they took her in.  She went in the small room with 3 detectives.  She was in the small room with the detectives for 30 to 40 minutes.  Did he check on her boss Tom Manley? Yes, was he real or imaginary?  Imaginary.

Casey knew she didn't work there, she knew when she came to the gate she didn't work there? Correct.  She maintained this charade?  Correct.  Did the detectives handcuff her?  No.  Did she appear to resist them?  No.  When they emerged from the room, did she appear upset? No, she was asking them about still looking for missing children in other states.

Did you drop off Casey at her house at 6am July 16, 2008?  Yes.  What time did you arrive at Universal?  9:30.  Why did you take her to Universal?  Casey told him she had outcry witnesses there and she had no numbers for them, Zenaida also was a seasonal employee.  She had also mentioned a lost phone at Universal.  He though the suspect was Zenaida Gonzales, who Casey said had Caylee.  He put Casey on speaker phone with Leonard Turtora and asked her if he could take her to Universal.  He asked her for her work phone and extension and who her bosses name was.  There were no such numbers or boss.  He asked her if she would come to Universal and show him her office?  She said yes.  Det Allen and Wells went to get Casey and brought her to Universal.  She wanted to come and show them her office.  She arrived at Universal with the detectives within the hour.  He saw her first at the security gate, she was not in handcuffs, they were not in uniform.  They made no threats to her.  What happened when she got there.  Casey talked to the security guard and said she was an employee and didn't have her ID, she gave a name of a boss.  The security guard knew she wasn't an employee but she was very convincing and was sure she could show them her office.  Mr. Tutorra signed them in.  Casey led them to a building, they didn't know where she was going to take them.  She just started walking.  Linda is showing Det Melich a picture of the layout of Universal.  Published to the jury.  It shows the path that Casey took them on to find her office at Universal.  Red arrows showing the path that Casey took to find her office.  From where they parked to where she stopped and said she didn't work there.  Halfway down the hallway, Casey stops, puts her hands in her back pocket and says she does not work there.  Publishing a picture of the hallway to the jury.  Mr Turtora found them a small room in the same building to talk with Casey.  She agreed to speak with them.  Linda is now showing a picture of the small room they talked in.  Looks like a nice clean room with blue walls and a nice white couch and white chair, paintings on the wall.  The furniture the day they were there were in different spots, other than that everything is the same.  They sat on the nice white furniture.  Det Melich and Casey on the couch.  Det Wells and Allen were also there.  They taped the conversation.  Casey was not under arrest.  Casey did not say she wanted to leave.  Casey knew that she was being recorded, the recorder was in plain sight.  Linda is asking about the audio they made that day.  Det.  Melich says that the audio and the transcript is true and accurate.  Linda is entering them into evidence over previous motions and objections.  Received into evidence.  Statement is just over an hour.  Linda is going to publish this to the jury.  The judge is going to play it for the jury but it will last an hour so he is giving them a 10 minute recess.

Judge Perry just said, "It's always good to have a little levity."  I agree with Judge Perry.  He's a very wise man.

It's really difficult to comprehend how Casey could take these men to Universal to show them her "Office," when she didn't work there.  Didn't she know that fate would catch up with her at the end of that hall?  I think her past experience with her parents, specifically Cindy, had taught her that no matter how convoluted the explanation, it would be believed.  But she was with police officer who had heard it all and seen it all, not her adoring and gullible mother.

It must have been after.  They went in progression with the 911 calls, then the 'huge waste' call after that.  Cindy's breakdown was building from the first 911 call to the third.

John Allen and Yuri Melich gave Casey Anthony every opportunity to claim an accidental death...even drowning...when she was being interviewed. She denied and lied. She truly thought she could pull this off. There is no insanity here. Simply a lying, manipulative and self-absorbed effort to cover up the killing of Caylee. Their questioning was excellent and her lies to them will greatly help solidify her conviction.

Even in Court, after the big "secret" is out, nothing - no tears!

Just to put this in persective, the first year I married my husband, my stepson became missing at the beach for 20 minutes. I was a mess, couldn't stop screaming his name, running the shoreline. I found him with the Fudgie Wudgie guy. I cried the rest of the day & held his hand forever! Casey went out tge same day Caylee died, rented a movie, had sex with Tony, who knows what else. She still seemed unaffected 31 days later the b!tch. I just don't get it. Caylee was her own flesh and blood.

I think, as a parent, we've allexperienced our kids missing in the store or somewhere.  My son got lost at the county fair once and I freaked out, screaming, running in circles.  Then my youngest one was asleep in the closet once and I couldn't find her for a bit.  It's terrifying...I went into a total insane mood, literally.

I think it was Christina who said that Casey used to bury her pets in that swamp where Caylee was found.  It makes sense because Casey said she goes to familiar places to find Caylee.  Killers usually go to familar place to kill or put evidence in places that are familiar with them.  I wonder if Casey used to kill her pets.
