An arrest warrant has been issued for Joran van der Sloot in the stabbing murder of a Peruvian 22-year-old woman named Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, according to MSNBC.

Joran van der Sloot was last seen in the company of the victim on Sunday, May 30, by both a hotel guest and an employee at the facility. Joran had been in the company of Stephany Flores the night before, Saturday, May 29, as well. The two were video taped in the Atlantic City Casino.

Stabbing murder on Sunday

According to Criminal police chief Gen. Cesar Guardia, an international arrest warrant has been issued by Interpol since the suspect fled Peru supposedly enroute for Chile after the murder occurred on Sunday, May 30.

Joran van der Sloot was in Peru for a poker tournament, having entered the country on May 14. It is unclear if Stephany participated in the gambling tournament as well.

Bloody stabbing mess in hotel room

Stephany Flores was murdered approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 30, according to her father Ricardo Flores, a Peruvian businessman and race car driver. Joran van der Sloot was the registered occupant of the luxury hotel room in the Miraflores neighborhood of the city.

The room in which Joran had rented, and Stephany's body was found, was covered with blood and showed signs of a struggle.

May murders a coincidence?

Joran van der Sloot has remained a suspect in the May 30 disappearance of another young woman, Natalie Holloway. Holloway was last seen in the company of Joran van der Sloot when she disappeared as well.

Like Stephany Flores, Natalie had been seen with Joran van der Sloot in a hotel casino too. And like Stephany, Natalie was not seen the next morning after spending the evening with Joran van der Sloot. The fact that Natalie disappeared in May of 2005, her body never to be found, and Stephany Flores was murdered in May 2010 has not escaped the notice of law enforcement investigating both cases.

Joran and Stephanie had only been at the hotel for four hours when the Dutch boy absconded Peru. Joran checked out of the hotel room in which Stephany's body would later be found three days later, on Wednesday, June 2.

But Joran did not immediately leave Peru. Instead, he exited the country around 1:42 p.m. in the afternoon on Monday, May 31, according to official reports.

NY city lawyer for van der Sloot comments

"Joran van der Sloot has been falsely accused of murder once before," Joran's New York city lawyer, Joe Tacopina told the press.

The Dutch boy's lawyer cautioned anyone from rushing to judgment on the case, but many have said that is an impossibility given the similarities already glaringly obvious and that Joran van der Sloot fled the premises the day Stephanie Flores is believed to have been stabbed to death in Joran's hotel room in Peru.

PRdVries on the telephone: he thinks this is bizarre and shocking news; resemblence to Natalee Holloway murder. PRdV wasn’t surprised; he had expected this.
The fact that there are similarities to the NH disappearence/murder case and because this girl was found with many knife wounds, makes him wonder if Natalee Holloway maybe was killed with a lot of violence too. But her body was never found. Regarding this possible violence JvdS shoe could have been evidence of that (blood on his shoe?).
This killing took place on the hotelroom; it was probably situational - not premeditated.
But PRdV thinks the simmilarities point to involvement of JvdS in this killing.

Hi EURobert.  Yes not a surprise to most of us here but horribly sad that another young girl had to lose her life because of that sociopath Joran.

Yes it's a shame that this could have happened. But I'm very curious what happened in that hotel room; did she find out things about him? Was it a crime passionnel?

And why was he in Peru? Just for this poker tournament or did he try to set up a cocaine line or something; he was in Columbia as well the previous week?

But I read there will be a press conference within the hour, so we'll probably learn some more about this case.

I guess the smartest thing for JvdS is to try to get to a country that has no agreement with Interpol. Or maybe go to the NL's; could be the NL's doesn't extradite it's inhabitants to Peru? I don't know.

She tried everything she could to get Joran to spill the beans..
 

We can love to hate Nancy and/or Greta but ... when all is said and done ... both of these women have had credible guests who have been a reminder to Americans that an established Aruban cover up agenda has for five long years prevented justice from prevailing for one of their own ... justice entitled to under Dutch law.

And he goes, Oh, no, no, no. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. Well, little did he know I had just read the statements where Joran describes that to the "T," you know, two days before. But of course, I didn`t tell him that. But that`s just when I started to think something`s wrong here.

The NL does not have an extradition treaty with Peru but they are an Interpol country so Interpol can extradite him for them.  It also means that Joran would not be allowed to serve his term in NL but would have to do so in Peru.

I much prefer he be in Peru!  And I hope they catch him very soon.  I think they will as he will stand out in a crowd being so tall.  And he would be much safer in police custody as I am pretty sure he does not want vigilante justice in S. America.

And what would roofies be doing in her van?  Not something one would use for rexreational drug.  It has only one recreational use.

This confuses me.  Murdered on the 30th and not found for 3 days?  At first I thought maybe he had the room booked until the 2nd and that's why no one bothered to enter it .. but this says he "checked out."

And he hung around Peru for a day?  IMO - He's not new to covering up a murder or getting away with one.  So those things just sound strange to me ...

Crimesider has been told that an Aruban prosecutor described van der Sloot as being on the run, but we have been unable to independently confirm it.


Early Wednesday morning, Stephany Flores Ramirez, 21, was found dead in a hotel room in Peru located on the avenue Miraflores district of Lima, Peruvian newspaper El Comercio reports. According to police reports, the girl was brutally stabbed and was found wrapped in a blanket in a pool of blood.

Considering Joran sealed his fate when he did not make any attempt to dispose of Sephany's body convinces me that it was Paulus who took over when "something bad" happened to Natalee Holloway.  In other words ... Joran did not have the guts.

NEW YORK (CBS) Aruban prosecutor Peter Blanken, who has been part of the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, has learned that Joran van der Sloot is now a suspect in a new murder, that of a 21-year-old woman whose body was found in a hotel room in Lima, Peru. The prosecutor told CBS News that the allegation was a remarkable development and says that he is personally shocked by it.
