De Vries said he doesn't think that Joe Tacopina knows what happened.

Does JoeT really think his client told HIM the truth?  I know JoeT has no morals, but in all the legal offices I've worked in, if the defendants lawyer knows for a fact his client is guilty, the only thing he can do is argue for a light sentence; he can't argue for a not guilty verdict.

as a follow-up:  I know many attorneys' who will say the first time they meet with the defendant "if you are guilty, don't tell me"

Jossy said it has been definately been confirmed that they molested the girl while she was going in and out of consciousness.

Jossy has a tape and he has many copies of it.  He usually makes tapes of people he doesn't trust.  If it is not rape, they strangled her and they did a lot of things to her.  He told Jossy many other things.  He said he will present it to the prosecutor when the case goes to court.

     

Whoa!  I missed some of this before.  Did what things to her???   Where are the statements about THAT!!???!!

Lisa :  Its a big break, the problem as a pros is what can we do with this. whatever happened to natalle happened in the past, not a future crime, i don't know what they can do now.

Brian:   I don't think this testimony will ever see a courtroom. none of this testimony will ever be heard unless joran waives the right to it....

Kim: this does raise issues, that the case was not handled right. people maybe did not follow leads...

Beth, so many things have transpired  , the pros did not communicate with the family like she should have. it is their responsiblity and when i think how kj treated us.....at least this gives us affirmation that we were right and they never had any intention on really pursuing these suspects.

Lisa: even if youdon't think the evidence will get to the courtroom, but kj still should have told the family...i'm not sure why theydid not divulge this info to the familyl you are suppose to be on the same side here.

Brian:  Just like beth said, this investigation is ameture hour, but certainlyu if I am carlo, i am thinking what he should be thinking of what to be doing after his career is over....his career as an attorney will be over in an amount of minutes.

Beth has an extremely good, slam dunk case against prosecuter's office and others, if she chose to pursue it, IMO. Could she file that in Holland instead of Aruba, by any chance?

I thought San just posted that kj sent him a fax about this so I assume he has it in writing from her that it happened or at least her letter to Carlo asking for more information.

To me, this is a little bit scary as I am afraid she is acting in collusion with Carol to get a mistrial or total dismissal of charges for Joran because of his having inadequate counsel.

It was tried in this area with the attorney for Judith Neeley saying he fell in love with her and so she had inadequate counsel because he was no longer objective, something like that.  So it is a last ditch attorney trick sometimes.

Joe is sitting in jail...

Feds say he has pocketed over 3 mill in taxes.

Charges include money laundering, and he will not be released from jail because he is a flight risk. They say he has threatned to burn down his ex wifes home...

Beth: Joe has been great for us with our ordeal, joe has helped out us, and others.  As far as what we experienced he has always been there for us, and has been commited and been terrific and I hate that this is happening.  He has been a great friend to us, he never NOT answered his cell phone, he was always encouraging when we were depressed.

I just hate that this is happening, it's a tragedy, and I am standing by him.

Lisa: the crime is called felon in possesion, he is not allowed to have a gun, they had a warrant, the gun was on his night stand. this is a pretty good case for the feds, but i think the good things he has done will help him out in sentencing a bit...but he will do time because he should not have a gun.

Brian:  he is in trouble, there can be no plea bargaining here, it is a mandatory 60 month sentence.....The statute was made a couple of years ago to have a handgun.
