Tell me what you were thinking about that James Overstreet.  Did we know if they're related, and what are your thoughts about the chair?  Isn't joe from TN, is his family originally from here?  I took a break from this case until it picked up again and lots of family stuff was going on so I may have missed some things.

I will be good, CBB!  I'm praying for Justice for our sweet little girl.  It breaks my heart that someone could hurt a little child.   My prayers for the family, and especially for Crystal.  She will probably carry a huge burden the rest of her life, but I hope she forgives herself and just puts her life on track for Junior and Chloe's sake.  It's the best thing she could do to help heal herself, IMO.  ::MonkeyAngel::

James Overstreet may have nothing to do with this case but he is an SO.  Someowhere in yesterday's thread early someone had posted that a Kristy Overstreet lived over on Magnolia which is far from Greenlane.  I wondered isf they were related or knew each other or related to Joe.  A lot of questions came to my mind?

Please forgive the typos I'll try to spell check more often.  I meant to say that Magnolia isn't far from Green Lane.

I saw that, but I figured I was missing something and then someone posted there are a lot of Overstreets there.  I really think that misty and tommy are good for most of this, with ron and joe in the mix somehow.  I teter back and forth on ron since I think his mom aka theresa is covering for him.  The way she took up for and praised misty was sickening and then when ron said that he wasn't mad at misty for not telling him what she knows, but he was disappointed, I decided he's probably a bigger part of this than I first thought.

There was also a funeral for a man named Casto that James was supposedly residing with and that funeral was held the day before Haleigh went missing. Just a lot of odd coincidences I guess.

I have to agree his reaction over Misty surprised me too.  Could be he is suppressing his anger until he can unleash it though and I guess that is what is most puzzling about his reaction.  I would have thought he'd be ready to at least whoop her butt for keeping something so important away from him all this time.  Doesn't make any sense at all.

I just said I was leaving, but wanted to comment on this!  I googled that Casto name, and it pulled up a SO with the same name but Castro.  very odd, since google auto corrected me I didn't notice until Heart pointed it out.  It wasn't until then that I realized that the point you just made was really odd!  I think the guy died of an illness, but it did make me stop and think what if? ya know...

They could be just being ‘thrown into the mix’ sounds strange, well maybe not as showcasing Joe Overstreet could throw the Police off track

Plus if the guilty person or persons who are responsible for this hideous crime have engineered the heat to now focus on Joe Overstreet, it could well work as it takes the heat off the guilty!

There has been no evidence found to link Joe Overstreet to the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings

Wondering why we offer these scenarios

Well read the following skeletal chronology of events to date in this case

• Haleigh Cummings went missing on February 10 2009 when in the care of 17-year-old Misty Croslin

• Haleigh Cummings was only 5 years old

• Misty said she fell asleep and when she woke up Haleigh was gone

• Misty Croslin is the cousin of Joe Overstreet

• February 11, 2009 - PCSO Major Gary Bowling said "All the world's a suspect. We're going to treat everybody, every family member, every associate, every neighbor as a suspect until we can eliminate them."
• As we can see from that statement the Police one day after Haleigh went missing they the Police had no ideas on who had been involved

• So the Police investigation had got off to a good start!

• Ronald Cummings the father of Haleigh in March 2009 less than a month after his daughter went missing he asked Misty Croslin to marry him

• At that point in time how come Ronald Cummings thought Misty Croslin was innocent in the disappearance of Haleigh when Misty was the last person to see Haleigh alive?

• In October 2009 Cummings and Croslin split – so spiraling the marriage plans down the tube

• Crystal Sheffield mother of Misty Croslin has engaged the services of private investigator Steve Brown to crack the case. This dude has been working for 10 months on the case and has concluded that he has put all the pieces together in the case. Sounds promising until he says that at this time he is staying dumb about his findings. Very helpful!

• The case is now well and truly bedded into a media circus that is not only in the tabloids and magazines on the racks in the super marts, but also the ‘lamestream’ press are all over the story like a skin rash

• International media is after news on the case, and the Internet devours the breaking news on Haleigh Cummings ‘like feeding humans to cannibals’

• Shawn Sirgo is the attorney representing Joe Overstreet

As soon as new name enters the suspect area, up springs a new lawyer and the suspect is lawyered up and then all mouths close and shutdown tight

So we repeat there is at this time no guarantee that Joe Overstreet - Shawn Sirgo – Hold the key to Haleigh Cummings Homicide Case

My opinion of Joe Overstreet is that he is not being truthful in this exclusive interview with First Coast News. He blinks his eyes alot and when he shakes his head it seems he is also trying to convince himself what he is saying.
I just think is body language speaks out. By watching this I am not so sure he is being thrown under the bus to save others but a key part of this case. JMO

Okay, I'm a little confused, last night on Geraldo there was at the bottom of the screen that Misti Croslin has said she knows what happened to Haleigh! That was supposed to be a breakthrough. I know that Tommy supposedly told Grama Hollers (which I wish she hadn't jumped out & said Joe & had just let him say first, it might have been really different!) that it was Joe, but I thought this was something new that happened this weekend, that Misti had come clean. Is that not what happened & was this just a teaser at the bottom of the  screen?  ::MonkeyEek:: TIA

Authorities say Nathaniel Fonz was last seen in Jacksonville wearing a yellow and black Pittsburgh Steelers jersey, black and white shorts and black, white and red sneakers.

According to the FDLE, Nathaniel was last seen with a couple and two young girls.

Anyone with information about the boy is urged to call the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, 386-313-4911.

{paraphrased} When you asked Misty did you have anything to do with Haleigh going missing? It says on the screen 'truth'.

TJ - {paraphrased} On the screen in the lower portion it says 'inaccuracy / deception'. In Misty's mind she believes she is telling the truth. It's a psychological tool, and if you would have seen what really came back it said 'inaccuracy and deception'.

And I would love to know who all the calls were for, I know he called Misty quite a bit, but I wonder if there were some drug deals in there as well?       I had to sleep on the comments by Ron's lawyer, I believe this was a message to Misty.  (So is Cummings angry with her now? Shoemaker said no.

"There's not anger. There's disappointment that she didn't feel she could come forward and tell him what may have happened that night -- if she in fact knew," Shoemaker said. )

Can I just say something about Grama Holler? It's important to me alone, I'm sure, but everytime someone from Tennessee is on television, like Grama Holler, I just want to explain to the listeners that not everyone from Tennessee says "there" in 2 syllables!

I find the key word in this info "funeral" arrangements. To me a "memorial" service would be appropriate if no body.

Do we know that he made 90 calls?  That sounds like an exaggeration.  If not, there is certainly a number that gives me pause - to say the least.

Does anyone know if Joe Overstreet is indeed a registered sex offender?  I haven't been able to find him on any of the national or state lists.

He may just be a convicted sex offender and, if so, not being monitored by any entity.

Twenty-three-year-old Hank “Tommy” Croslin Jr. told detectives Thursday that his sister’s then-boyfriend, Ronald Cummings, called from work to ask about her whereabouts. In the interview, he told detectives he went to the Satsuma mobile home about 9:45 p.m. to find his sister.

Ronald Cummings’ attorney said Tuesday that Cummings did not ask Croslin to check where she was and had been in touch with her during the evening.

Terry Shoemaker said Cummings simply called the Croslins just before 9 p.m. to ask if his girlfriend was there. Croslin was not asked to check on his sister in the call that lasted 20 to 30 seconds.

Shoemaker said the two had been in touch throughout the night.

“As far as he knows, they were home,” he said. “He had no reason to think they were not.”

Authorities said phone records show Cummings did make several unanswered calls to her cell phone before calling the Croslins.

“There were numerous attempts to call Misty,” said Maj. Gary Bowling of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. “Unsuccessful attempts.”

Bowling said Cummings called Tommy Croslin to say he was not able to contact her.

The couple had recently fought, prompting Misty to have a weekend excursion away from Ronald days before.

In the interview at the Putnam County jail where he is being held on a grand theft charge, Croslin told detectives he went down the street and banged on Cummings’ door about an hour after talking to Cummings, but no one answered.

Bowling said it is the first time anyone has said they went to the mobile home after Cummings’ grandmother Annette Sykes left about 7:30 p.m.

“He told us he banged on the door,” Bowling said. “He said it was dark and no lights were on.”

Detectives were told no one came to the door.

“It is surprising that someone would hold that information,” Bowling said.

Friends who have seen inside my closet have called me "Imelda."   I have great teeth, in fact my accountant says I must have a very happy dentist.  I often speak in words of more than one syllable, but never make two or three syllables from words such as "There."  Disestablishmentarianism.

BTW, I don't believe a word Grandma Hollar said.  I'm sure that Misty et al's phone calls are monitored just as Casey's were and what she said can be easily proven untrue or true as the case may be.

They're testing the yellow rope found in the home, and they're testing the cinder blocks found in the river. Maybe they're hoping a fiber from the rope is lodged in the cinderblock? The rope that was in the picture holding the door looked like that marine roping. That stuff would last forever in the water.

Lenurd did make an interesting point at the end - (I know - astonishing!)

Said that he thinks that Lindsay will lean on Tommy with the divorce. That Tommy will eventually say - that when he / we got there the child was dead. He won't be able to say more because he doesn't know what happened before.

Art expects "something" to happen in the next week or so.

They should be, I think there has to be the request for them first.

I noticed Putnam has been very slow in releasing a lot of them.

The investigation integrity comes first, I guess... and that makes total sense.

IF that is the case one has to wonder what jail time there would be for disposal of a body  ::MonkeyNoNo::

I saw Geraldo's show just in passing through channels last night and noticed Joe's lawyer speaking.  When I listened to him earlier in the week, I interpreted what he said as "We have no part in this, but we will cooperate until there is negative results to my client "put up or shut up".  My words not his.

It seems to me like LE are letting Joe take the flap right now while they continue on their path of investigation.  Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

It does seem that way, and if I heard right he wasn't suggesting to Joe to go ahead and take a ldt. But probably most lawyers wouldn't want their client to take one.

(BBM)  I thought I read somewhere a statement that if there was something in them that pertained to the investigation, they would be held back.  (Not exact words).

I had company come in for a few days and was not able to keep I guess because this is the first that I have heard about a chair....what is the deal with the chair???

My sister and I talked about this same thing. I asked her how would they have a Funeral without a body. When my mother-in-law passed she was cremated and we had a Memorial not a funeral.

Panic is right, logically there wouldn't be a reason for that many calls.

AND those who confirmed he was there...didn't anyone notice that he was on the phone constantly?

Also if there were calls to all the weekend rendezvous players it would indicate that he really wasn't sure where she went and was trying to find out if she was partying again. If they are only to the inner circle it seems like it would show circling the wagons.  It's also weird that he stayed at work (cause he knew he had to ?), if there was any fear that there was trouble and the kids might be out with her while she played with her pals, I'm fairly certain that the co. would've let him go home. 

Also, with that much concern, why did he work overtime?  I am correct about them working overtime?

The purpose of Misty’s call should have been a MISSING 5 yr old child. Not an alibi of “I was sleeping.”   I loveD that little girl. Listen to ALL the people’s words in the beginning of a crime. Listen to the choices of words. Example: Cindy said: “George and I do not believe Caylee is in the woods.”  After KC made a statement. “Caylee loved the park.” 5 months later Caylee was found in the woods.
 
Domestic fights, domestic drug use, dealing drugs, under age sex, child abuse, child neglect, Misty quit school in the 6th grade, and HaLeigh had poor school attendance. All people related to Ron and Misty has chemical dependency issues as well as illegal sale of drug issues. Grandma Flo is a proven liar and is out for the reward money. People describe Misty is someone who displays three very different personalities, one being violence outbursts. Rumors of Tommy and Misty having sex are just a gross lie in my opinion. Every single missing person case some one always starts the rumors of incest sex. Rumor of “bouncy on the couch” (JR statement) – some says this was Tommy and Joe having sex with HaLeigh.

The 911 call is the confession and has a ton of details in it. Wish LE would have sent it to the FBI on day 1.

Joe Overstreet-Speech wise when he says “I can’t imagine what they are going through.” He is making a statement of sympathy, there is no body language or facial language to demonstrate that sympathetic feeling or emotion. That is a huge “tell” as well.   Then a reporter immediately repeats his words in the form of a questions “You didn’t do it? Joe, says no and purses his lips and looks down  which body language wise means that he is holding something back and that he is ashamed or embarrassed about something.  Jaw pulsating, vocal muscle tightening, which means he has tension, when people do this, it means they are usually not telling the truth.

Dr. Glass goes on to say that she thinks Joe's attorney was lying in regards to the ALIBI. I personally believe Joe is tense and stressed with little to know education, which to me explains his body language. With that said it was obvious to the world by his body language he was lying about SOMETHING. IMO. He is being used as a patsy IMO.

Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr. told detectives Thursday that he was called by Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings to find 17-year-old Misty Croslin and went to the Satsuma mobile home about 9:45 p.m. Feb. 9 to see her.

"He told us he banged on the door," said Maj. Gary Bowling of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. "He said it was dark and no lights were on."

Bowling said detectives were told no one came to the door.

Teresa Neves, who is Ronald Cummings' mother, said her son told her he spoke with Hank Croslin that night but did not tell him to go to the mobile home.

"He did not ask Tommy to go check on Misty," she said.

I think that's false because it was reported long after Haleigh went missing Ron lost his job because it was never there (or something to that affect).  So how could he lose a job that he had already lost?

...I take everything that bloggers or "those in the know" so to speak have to say with a grain of salt....so many rumors out there that it is hard to know what is true..however, when LE has come out and confirmed that he was at work, I have to believe that they are the ones to believe...jmo...

This has always been an issue with me, even when we heard there were only 20 calls. I would have left in a heart beat and have before after 5 unanswered calls, job be damned my kids come first ::MonkeyMad:: Then you add to that all that went down the days prior with Misty out having a threesome drug sex binge with WBG and whomever, Joe stealing a gun, and knowing a doped out scunt was watching the kids and still you stay, work overtime and then go to the convenience store too. Never made sense then nor does it now.

Why doesn't Misty mention this laundry visit ( 5:46 in vid)?  She seemed very sure and clear of the 2 visitors she talked about. This interview was hours after the event, ya think having GGSykes drop by would've been right on the tip of her pea brain, but not a word and no correction from director Ron either . Why?

Hmmmm interesting!!  We've read online some things from locals, and have had no way to confirm.  Yet as time has gone on, some of those things have proven out to be true.  I pay attention to what locals say, even if it's contrary to what has been reported by LE/media. 

LE and Ron's employer have always been tight-lipped about Ron and that night.  Even of the info that they have released, it's been somewhat ambiguous.  It's gonna be interesting down the road when they finally do release all they know about that night, to see what actually happened.

That's exactly what happened to me last yr, I couldn't reach my daughter who was watching my son so I tried the neighbors etc and still got no one, after about 15 minutes and just a few calls where I left messages, I left work so fast it would make your head spin, and then found out her cell phone was dead ::MonkeyNoNo:: I was furious, that's why we have those thingy's that charge our phones, and she was grounded for being irresponsible. Could be Klaas.. the report of his losing his job may have been just what was reported.  Could be that he had already lost his job prior to Haleigh's having gone missing.  Dunno.  Seems that when we first heard/read about him being fired, it was cuz he didn't return to work as expected.  Could it be that he had been on suspension and just didn't go back?  Dunno.  But I do know that we all wondered WTH?  How could an employer be so heartless as to fire someone in the midst of what was going on with his family, rather than say put him on an extended leave?  There's something that has never 'set right with me' regarding Ron's employer and what he was reported to have said and done re Ron, that night, his schedule, his job, etc.  And I wonder if he and LE were in league to say as little as possible about that, and whatever they did say, to make it as ambiguous as possible.  Cuz it sure seems that way to me.  IMO. 

And if so... why?  If this were me, and if there were no problems surrounding a job, and my participation in that job on a night such as the one Ron had... I have no doubt that my employer would have simply said verbatim what my hours had been scheduled for, and the exact time I showed up and left.  Including what I did hour by hour during that night.  The only reason I can think for an employer to make things so ambiguous is if there were things to hide.. either of their own, or of the employee.  IMO.

NRCG~It's frightening as he77 driving home and when you get there you are so angry at whatever/why you weren't able to get in touch with them, but you are also so relieved you just want to cry and hugs your kids. If my employer would have had a problem, I'd just have to let them fire me, thankfully that was never an issue.

Yes thay are........it's like that 12 minute drive is an hour and you feel like there is 10x the traffic. This is just ONE of the circumstances that has lead me to believe that Ron and I think even TN knew something, and others will say "what if Tommy told him everything was ok", and my answer is I would want to talk to my sitter, and kids myself to determine that. (CBS) The search for Haleigh Cummings, who went missing over a year ago from her father's home in Satsuma, Fla., is still going on in earnest at the St. John's River in northeast Florida, and news reports say that two cinder blocks have been recovered, bolstering the sheriff's decision to re-classify the once missing-persons case as a homicide.

Haleigh's former step-mother, Misty Croslin, was brought to the search area April 13 in handcuffs to talk with investigators on the scene, although Sheriff Jeff Hardy declined to say why Croslin was brought there.

Croslin, and Haleigh's father Ronald Cummings, were arrested in January on drug trafficking charges and remain in custody.

Croslin's grandmother says that Croslin spoke to her about Haleigh's disappearance and provided details about what may have happened that night, according to local station WJXT. Flora Hollars said she spoke to Croslin on Thursday and urged her granddaughter to come clean.

She said they "tied Haleigh up with a yellow rope and tied a brick block to the rope, and dropped her into the St. John's River," Hollars told WJXT.

Hollars says the search was initiated by information given by her grandson Hank Croslin, who was arrested with Misty Croslin and Cummings in January, according to CBS affiliate WTEV.

Sheriff Hardy said in a press conference that no one has been arrested for the crime, but investigators are "working on building a case," and that people are beginning to cooperate.

Misty Croslin, the last person to see Haleigh the night she vanished, has been acting more calm and, "I think she's coming to realize she's in trouble," Sheriff Hardy told reporters.

The cinder blocks, along with the other "items" that have been recovered in the search, have been sent out for testing but investigators declined to say if yellow rope was among the items.

I agree about the employer "seeming heartless" if they in fact just let him go after this for whatever reason, but they also had LE protection during the shift changes for a few days IIRC

Why would an employer go to that measure if they didn't feel threatened in some capacity.........When I read that, it just was another check in the box overflowing with suspicious activities.

For what it's worth, I was watching NG that night and I distinctly recall her saying that.  So I believe the transcript is correct.  My memory is not the best, but that stood out to me.   Just another glaring discrepancy in this twisted web!

Yeppers, we've had many a discussion on this, earlier on.  Misty, TN, and Ron have all said that they are the one who picked up Haleigh.  Other adults at the bus stop have reported who they saw picking her up as well.  Seems we will never get one true story about who actually picked her up. 

Even tho we've had reports from a neighbor I think, and the AC man who was there later, one of the last adults who saw her alive (outside of her family) was the bus driver.

In the above picture of Haleigh and Ron and she is holding the fish trophy he does not appear to have the Mom tattoo....but from the looks of Haleigh it does not look like that picture  was taken that long ago so are we to assume that the Mom tattoo is fairly recent? like within the last two years or so?

Yeah, I think last night we were noticing that it seemed to be relatively new. Would love to know when he got it.

I think he put drugs before Haleigh, myself. And the resulting environment was what Haleigh was subjected to.

I don't know if that ring on RC's neck was Crystal's or not. However they were never legally married. And to be honest I don't know either of their feelings toward one another. But it appears that both had moved on with their lives.

I noticed that  a few pages back....no "tit tat' when he was brushing his teeth with Jr. and HaLeigh in his boxers.

Another question I asked was why would Teresa bring HaLeigh's picture when she made that 3min trip from her house to Ron's I really believe that picture is from Ron's house and Teresa was there when he got home and she staged the picture story to make it look like she got to the scene after the fact. Teresa  is holding some secrets you can tell by the way she has aged in the last 14 mo. of course HaLeigh being missing is enough to age her... I  know it has me!
When the neighbors heard a ruckus at 2:30am could it have been Misty and Teresa yelling at one another about Haleigh being gone. If thats a fact not a rumor.

I can not recall where I read it, but I believe it was said to be... Ron used some of the search money to goto a larger town to get the tat.   Orlando maybe?  Not really sure.  But I remember the article inclined that he used some search for Haleigh funds from when the tent was still up.   Right around the time the cops made them take the tent down.  (I think)

I think that this incident was when he went into another county and had the Haleigh tattoo put on his leg/calf...not Teresa's ....I think that he had that one before Haleigh went missing...cause he was showing that tattoo to the tattoo guy when he got the Haleigh one...remember seeing that in a video I believe...

As the Haleigh Cummings homicide investigation appears to be nearing completion, Hank "Tommy" Croslin, Jr.'s wife Lindsey has stepped into the spotlight. Tommy Croslin is the brother
 of Misty Croslin Cummings who was babysitting Haleigh the night she disappeared. Tommy led police this week to the Shell Harbour Boat Ramp on the St. John's river. Information from Tommy Croslin apparently caused police to recast the search for Haleigh as a homicide investigation.

On the Levi Page show on Blogtalkradio Sunday, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla discussed Lindsey's apparent dismay that Tommy Croslin took a polygraph while she was out of town visiting brother-in-law and sister-in-law Timmy and Chelsea Croslin in Massachusetts. She's acting the part of the betrayed wife, but does the betrayal go deeper than Tommy's keeping criminal knowledge from Lindsey?

Chelsea Croslin, like Lindsey, also appears to have acquired specific knowledge as to key events surrounding Haleigh Cummings' presumed death. While news to police and a captivated public, the location on the St. John's river where Tommy may have indicated Haleigh's body was disposed- site of an extensive search last week- apparently was not news to Tommy's sister-in-law Chelsea Croslin. According to Padilla, Chelsea suggested March 14 that the same area be searched and even helpfully drew him a map! And Chelsea now claims she had been suggesting that same search location to police ever since Haleigh disappeared. Her reason for suggesting a search of that area allegedly related to its familiarity to Croslin family scapegoat Joe Overstreet. But two months ago, another motive sufaced. Chelsea allegedly received a heretofore secret letter from Misty Croslin Cummings identifying the site as the place cousin Joe dumped Haleigh's body.

So all along Chelsea was pointing to what is now believed to be the location of Haleigh Cummings' body. And what of her sister-in-law Lindsey?

I think Teresa was at Rons when he got home...might be why they hung up on the 911 operator so Teresa could tell Misty what she needed to say,since Teresa could not make the call.....she screwed her story up as far I was concerned when she said she drove 15 miles to Rons after she got the call @ 3:27am and arrived at his house @ 3:30 and has it ever been said who called Teresa and told her HaLeigh was gone? I have never heard...does anyone know?

When I was listening to the talk show with LP, LP said that he "thinks" that Joe was there BECAUSE he brought the van, now I can't imagine how Tommy or Misty could have convinced Joe to bring the van over, BUT, if he did maybe once he arrived there and saw what was going on he said "Nada, I don't want anything to do with the Bu!!" and he was the one who stayed "behind" to watch Jr. when they went to get rid of little Haleigh's body! Now this is just a thought running through my head right now...but I am curious how everyone else thinks about this!

Janet, I guess what I am thinking is that in those pics I see a normal child doing normal things with her family. Ron even looks normal.  Of course, that is in front of the camera, so we don't really know how live was for her.
I wonder if maybe he started doing more drugs  when he hooked up with Misty.
I always think of Caylee as being loved and happy, but we may find out that she spent a good part of her little life drugged and in the trunk of a car.  So many babies in this world are living hellish lives...

FYI the person I get info from I will call D for obvious reasons. D is not technically a local. D owns and runs a large business in Palatka. Also other properties there and in a not too distant city in FL. which is where D originates from. When I offer info I know that this person has  direct info and not rumors. Because of D's business D has hands on knowledge. On the morning Haleigh went missing D was questioned by LE about Joe's whereabouts and he had already left the area and it was before noon. Also D has spoken directly with Chelsea about this case. Chelsea maintains that Misty was very jealous of Haleigh as were his other girlfriends. Ron doted on Haleigh and I assume that could cause problems. Chelsea also said that Misty "isn't right" in the head. Not long after Chelsea and Timmy moved out in the middle of the night. As far as talk in that area right now it is all speculation just like here on SM.

I have read that he left the day after Haleigh disappeared. I have also read that he left a few days after she disappeared.

I tend to believe he left a few days after she disappeared. That would explain him being in Satsuma hanging posters with Misty.

One of the 911 tapes I think it was the one from Tampa bay news which posted if first I did hear a lady talking but faintly..

I think that Ron knew and I think that he knew that night I am not sure exactly when that night that he knew cuz LE won't let me see the dang cell records UGH !

I would say I have to agree sense he was there and someone else had drove him there he would have had to leave when she was ready to leave not when he was ready to leave sense he was just getting a ride there not the driver.

I am trying to remember just how Cousin Joe left Florida, whenever he did.

I came across this in my notes. I remember this search day, as many of you probably do also. It was March 12, 2009:

We're just looking," Greenwood said. "It's just part of the process." U.S. 17, a two-lane road, is open to traffic during the search. I think they were looking for something that may have been thrown from the vehicle that would be on the side of the road.

I have always felt that Ron knew everything but now knowing that Misty was jealous of Haleigh I see a possible motive I never considered before. While looking for the picture of JO putting up the posters (I have seen it in the past few days), I ran across this from Websleuth's regarding the date of that picture.

I am having a difficult time reconciling that it is Misty in the photo and that the date this picture was published could be accurate. Any help you might be able to give me would be greatly appreciated! If you are not able to answer my question please direct me to who might be able to, thank you so very much and thank you for your continuing coverage of Haleigh Cummings and the news on her disappearance and the investigation surrounding it.


His response today: No misprint. That was taken the morning was reported missing.

So I was wrong, pic was taken on the morning of Haleigh's disappearance however, Joe Overstreet 100% COULD HAVE left just hours after Haleigh was reported missing since the picture was taken on the morning of the 10th. He didn't comment as to who the woman was but, since he didn't correct the caption I assume it is indeed Misty in the photo."

In the latest news articles, it has been reported that Joe's attorney has stated that JO help put up fliers sometime during the day of 2/10. So it may be possible that JO also left Satsuma sometime 2/10. The article with the pic of JO putting out fliers was released 2/12 I believe.

Investigators said a known sex offender was in Central Florida visiting his cousin, Misty Croslin, when Haleigh disappeared.

Attorney James Werter said Croslin met with investigators for over an hour before leading Florida Department of Law Enforcement officials and Putnam County deputies to the river.

Croslin is the brother of Misty Croslin who is the last known person to see Haleigh before the 7-year-old went missing from her Satsuma home more than one year ago. Croslin is currently jailed on drug charges.

Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy deemed the investigation into the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings a homicide Thursday afternoon.

Hardy held a news conference at 4 p.m. Thursday, as a search of the St. Johns River neared completion.

"Over the past couple of weeks, information has been obtained by investigators that leads them to believe that Haleigh Cummings is most likely deceased," Hardy said.

He would not disclose specific details about what led to the change in the status of the case. However, Hardy said items were pulled from the river and sent to a laboratory for analysis.

He said no arrests had been made in the Haleigh case, but there were several people of interest.

"We're trying to make an arrest. We're trying to bring some justice for this little girl right here and her family," Hardy said.

The sheriff said he believes Misty Croslin, Haleigh's father's ex-wife, holds the key to the case. Croslin was watching Haleigh when she was reported missing.

Investigators re-interviewed her and brought her to the search site. They said she's cooperating.

"People are starting to cooperate," he said. "That's why I've told people it's just going to be a matter of time. We're going to accept any cooperation we can get."

Croslin's cousin, Joe Overstreet, denied he had anything to do with Haleigh's disappearance or death.

"I can't imagine what they're going through. I didn't do it," he said.

Overstreet's grandmother has her doubts and said she heard that Haleigh accidentally overdosed on drugs.

"I heard Misty supposedly hit her in the back of the head and Joe was supposed to have raped her and got rid of the body," Flora Hollers said.

Haleigh's family is still holding out hope that she's alive.

"(We feel) Hurt, discouraged. It's not something we wanted to hear," said Haleigh's paternal great-grandmother Annette Sykes.

Sykes said Hardy delivered the devastating news to the family earlier in the week.

"We thought they'd have something more concrete. Until they do, we're not going to believe she's dead," Sykes said.

James Overstreet is an older cousin.  WHAT IF, it's James that has molested Misty.  WHAT IF, James hurt Haleigh and the rest of them (Misty, Tommy, Timmy, Joe) are scared of him?

JO left late in the night of 2/10 per his lawyer on NG show this evening 4/19/10. Joe was a passenger in the car with others that had a set date to arrive in Florida and a set date to leave.

Could be klaas. Wonder if he was staying/visiting at the Magnolia location that night.

IF this is the case, then I suspect with James Overstreet safely behind bars, Misty and Tommy might be more willing to tell the truth.

It is strange that an Overstreet would be arrested in Palatka right in the middle of all of the latest developments.
The fact that he is a sex offender leaves room for a lot of speculation.

This all broke around 3:30 in the morning of Feb.10. Did Misty even have time to hang flyers that same morning? Wasn't she busy talking to LE? I don't believe for a moment that the picture of Misty and Joe hanging posters at the storefront was that morning. No matter what the reporter said. Who printed the flyers that quickly?

If James O. is a cousin then he would be the child of one of Floras children so we know that he does not belong to Lisa and I think that it would be safe to say that he is not Tina's son soooo....do we know of any other children that Flora may have that could be James parents? Or do we know of Flora's siblings as their children could be his parents also ?

PCSO has now set bond for James Overstreet at $504.00.
I don't think he would have such low bond if he was connected to Haleigh's case.

I have no idea, but I do recall yesterday someone on here posted that the name Overstreet is a common name in the area, but I have no idea about that.

I don't think that it was that morning either because I remember the reporters or someone asking Ron  where Misty was that morning and him saying that she was at her house resting that she was very distraught and that she was with her family at her house and he proceeded to tell them that he had his house and she had hers ...you see he was already doing damage control.....and then that afternoon you see them interview her on the couch with her mom and you see her walking around with Ron in the crowd , she had on that green polka dot jacket.

Overstreet is a fairly common surname.  I am not convinced this James Overstreet if related to the family although it certainly IS possible.

His lawyer said tonight that he caught a ride with a friend to FL and they had a set time to return to TN... not sure if the friend was a female, but somewhere I read that it was. He also stated that they left late the same evening that Haleigh was reported missing... which would have been Tues. Feb. 10.

I think JO was shot in that hand, it's why it looks odd.  Wasn't the story that he was caught in a man's car and the guy shot him in the hand?  He was found a few houses away and admitted to robbing the guy. IIRC

In that link someone posted a page or so back, there is a poster from WS who verified with the paper that the girl in the pic is misty.

I've never seen a picture of timmy and I think he could possibly be mistaken for JO by someone who didn't know JO and just thought it was timmy.  Maybe timmy is involved, misty was closer to him than tommy and didn't she say she would call him before anyone else? IIRC that's what she said and I always wondered why timmy ran off so quick.  I think maybe timmy was in on this too and what if the plan was to frame JO since he looked enough like timmy to someone who didn't know JO was in town?  just thinkin'...

I thought that female resembled Lisa Croslin from the side.  However, I have never seen her with her hair fixed like that in a pony.

IIRC .. I thought the air conditioner repair guy was a friend. I do recall LE saying they had checked him out very early and pretty much dismissed the possibility of him being involved.

Heart wrote a very interesting post about James Overstreet the other day.  Seems a person died that was maybe living with an Overstreet.  I read back somewhere that Joe was visiting relatives of his.  Could he have come down for the funeral???
