Good evening monkeys. Sorry I am just getting into the cage. Josef and I stopped by my mom's house and she even put her dogs outside and let Josef come into the house. She couldn't believe how well behaved he was. Then my stepdad shut the doors to their office so they could put their dogs in the bedrooom. OMG one of the scotties snuck its head in the door and luckily Josef was just sitting there and didn't see it come in. I grabbed his leash and yelled at my nephew grab the dog. I just knew Josef was going to kill it, but he really didn't even bother with it. I felt bad because I yanked him up by the neck so hard. 

I hope all was well with you monkeys today. I am pooped and will try and read back.

Glad Josef was so well behaved, and don't blame yourself for trying to protect another animal. Josef forgives you, I am sure.

We were kinda in and out busy all day here so you didn't miss a whole lot.

Speaking of in and out .. I need to go out and fix some dinner.

I ordered Chinese as I did not feel like cooking after sledding.

Wow Wyks, how amazing, I never heard of a doxie being a service dog before, he alerts for your heart condition and saved your life twice, that is amazing. Doxie's are so smart and make wonderful pets, and service dogs 

Yep!  Doxies are very smart!  And stubborn lil cusses too.     He can get me a bottle of water out of the fridge <we have a towel on the door handle that he pulls to open fridge> and then he's *supposed* to nudge it closed.  He brings the water and runs back to stare at all the food.  LOL  Lil brat. 


He knows before I do when my heart is going to go wacky.  He alerts, and I give him the cue to settle.  <that means I get his warning and take an extra dose of meds>  If I don't give him the cue, he sets up a fuss  <if we're in the public> to alert others who hopefully realize something's wrong.  <i wear a medic alert bracelet>.  And if home he will pull an alarm cord, which calls 911.  He then waits at the door and opens it for the EMTs. <towel on handle for him to pull>  And he's gotten to where he wants to answer the phone too.  Sits and barks at it when it rings, grabs it first whenever possible.  Has somehow managed to hit the speed dial number and called my youngest son once.   I swear he thinks he's human!      

Wyks, that is awesome about your service dog. I am glad you have him to help you!

I love all this doggie talk and hate to change the subject, but at the moment there is one inch of global warming on my lawn and more is coming fast and furious.  Earliest ever.  It rarely snows much here but this is the second this year.  I hate global warming.

3" and counting here in Central VA ... started about 3 hours ago. Expecting 14" here.

It's beautiful though! I am enjoying it from my computer desk out the window!

It can be beautiful watching it come down until you have to shovel 

OH! I have "people" to do that for me. LOL

Oh yes, and a dog named Brandi who thinks she is a snowplow. heh

My daughter called me from school telling me the RCMP are driving her home 

I am like ok, what happened.  She says there was a mix up with the school buses and the drivers forgot it was 1/2 day today so no buses.  The School had invited the RCMP, Fire and EMT to the breakfast to show appreciation for their service.  They came as they could to eat and the ones still there offered to drive the kids home.  So daughter was calling to ensure it was ok that she get a ride home with RCMP ( guess I did a good job of telling them not to take rides home with strangers). 

She got two constables driving her home (one male and one female) and they were all laughing when they got here, helped her out and confiscated her bag of pretzels ( which apparently they all were eating on the way here, made a mess with pretzels all over the floor of the vehicle and wondering how they are going to explain that when they get to the station. I took a picture of daughter getting out of the car to show her older brothers and the RCMP were hamming it up.  Daughter goes - RCMP love pretzels, good thing to remember Mom.

That was such a nice thing they did.  God bless the service people in each of our communities   

How wonderful what the RCMP did for the kids and your daughter!!! Maybe Tevye can go to Canada now. Just bribe the mounties with pretzels.

Just have a minute, than I have to run back out, but wanted to say hi. Snow coming my way, and I'm not happy! Uggh, I still have lotsa shopping to do. Nooo snowww!!! Please!

You got it! Reverting snowstorm in your direction, it'll be there in a few days. So, give me your flip flop weather, now! OK, I can wait until tomorrow for it to arrive, but really it can't be any longer than that. I still have to shop this weekend, it won't be easy in heavy snow. I don't want to get scooged out!

I am in S.C. about 55 south of Charlotte N.C. We are at 32 and the wind is really blowing.

Thanks, QM! She actually feels like a plush toy when you pet her on the head!

And, man alive, does she like being pet! She is not ashamed of it either. LOL No shame whatsoever.

Aww, I could feel her soft fur now! I miss the smell of a dog (even the stinky smells, well sorta) lol, you probably know what I mean.

That sounds good, hope you got all your mother's presents wrapped  Hate it when the wind is howling and sometimes it sounds like the windows and screens are rattling so bad like they will break.

Well, my snow shoveler just went outside (husband) and shoveled off the first 5"!!! from the porch/deck and the steps, then let Brandi out, decided to play with her out in the yard, as he usually does, jumped up, and upon coming down, his feet slipped under him and he fell on his a$$! Poor baby!

He came in and said, "This getting old stuff is for the birds! That hurt!"

He's ok, but gonna be a little sore.

He's right though, getting old is for the birds and I told him, "we old people" have to use some common sense and not act like we are 10. Hubby is 13 years younger than I. But he'll learn
