Judge Issues 3 Rulings In Anthony Case
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Death Of Daughter

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A judge on Wednesday released three rulings in connection with the Casey Anthony murder case.

Orange County Circuit Judge Stan Strickland denied the motion filed by Anthony's defense team asking that several of the check fraud counts against her be dismissed because, they claimed, the charges constituted double jeopardy. He also denied a request to have the Orange County Jail destroy videos of family visits to Anthony.

Strickland also ruled that an audiotape secretly made Joe Jordan, a Texas EquuSearch volunteer, made during an interview with an Anthony defense investigator not be used or disclosed.

Anthony, 23, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were discovered last December. Caylee was 2 years old when she was reported missing in July 2008.

Anthony has pleaded not guilty.

The state will seek the death penalty if Anthony is found guilty, although Strickland has yet to rule on the defense team's motion to have the death penalty option removed.

The first motion claimed that Anthony's multiple check fraud charges in which she is accused of pilfering money from friend, Amy Huzienga, should be categorized as double jeopardy. That motion was denied.

Also denied was a motion to destroy all jailhouse interviews involving Casey Anthony and her family.

WDBO Local News

Judge denies Casey Anthony request for private jail visits

Judge Stan Strickland has denied a request by Casey Anthony's defense to stop the Orange County Jail from releasing video recordings when friends visit her.

On the Today Show Tuesday, the Anthonys said they hoped the motion would be granted.

Judge Strickland also refused to throw out charges in Casey's check fraud case.

He did grant a motion by the State to block the release of an illegally recorded interview with Joe Jordan, who helped search for Caylee's body.
