MONKEY MUSINGS DAILY OPEN DISCUSSION #52 10/03/09 - 11/24/09

hey all! i normally dont post in here but i have had a horrendus day and i need to vent.  so as a lot of you know, i work for child protective services... (the most broken, effed up system we have in this country..ughhh dont even get me started..) anyway....today this new employee needed help with the placement of a family of 7 children in foster care, so i helped her out. i took one van with 4 of the kids in it..and so as i was talkin to the kids, one of the little girls told me that today was her birthday... my heart almost broke. i felt soo bad. i didnt knwo what to do, i literally wanted to stop and buy her a birthday cake somewhere, but instead i took all the kids through the mcdonalds drive thru because there was no way i was getting 4 little kids out of a car to go buy a cake and i coudlnt leave them in a car alone..

i am so upset that this little 5 year old had to spend her birthday being placed in foster care. i honestly think i might cry myself sleep over this. ugh. i need thicker skin! i have been doing this job for 3 years since i graduated college and it still rips my heart out on a regular basis. sorry for the rant i just needed to express my feelings about this

Hugs to you. I am so sorry that good people have to watch innocent children go through this crap. I, for one, am glad that people like you are there to help these kids.

Ok - one more venting for all of you. I am just so pizzed I would love to scream - but it may scare the kids!   

Our local fire department, that my dad served with honor for 20 some years, has a F'ing RSO handing out candy to the kids and working as Santa!  His probation clearly says he may not be in contact with kids under 17. The other firemen know. So I turned him in to his PO. She called today and said that none of the fire deparment will confirm he was there. So I thought, no problem, I will call my mother - she took my two nieces down there to trick or treat - and believe it or not - SHE SAID SHE WILL NOT CONFIRM IT TO ANY OFFICIAL!  WTF. This is the same person that did not talk to me for 2 years when my stepson molested my nieces AFTER WE IMMEDIATELY PUT HIM IN AN INSTITUTION.  And then she blamed ME for not protecting ALL the kids he molested. I just do not understand, Fire fighters are supposed to be honorable people. They are supposed to stand up for victims. Heck, this is the group I respected so much that when my son died I had memorials sent to them!  Now I am so angry I could just spit

OMG. i am sick reading this. i dont even know where to begin. First of all, i want you to know that you did the right thing by reporting this to his PO.  if anything, at least u will be able to sleep at night knowing u did the right thing.  Last time i checked, firemen, policemen, all those people are MANDATED reporters, how could they allow this to happeN????? the man was dressed in a santa suit handing out candy! are you KIDDING ME? wow i think i have steam coming out of my ears right now. if i was a parent in ur town, i would be up in arms over this,in fact, i would prob be writting letters to the paper. this is ridiculous. i am so mad reading this! do you know if anyone has pictures or anything of this man handing out candy? this is ridiculous. i dont know what state you live in, but you could consider calling the state child abuse hotline and making a report of it on there. they will have to respond in some way to the appropriate people. this is ridiculous. wow. i am mad. PLEASE keep me updated on what happens with this.  I would be glad to help in anyway that I can. I live in Pa (right outside philly) wow. i think i need a whole bottle of wine after reading this.



by the way..i am sorry for the loss of your son. he was lucky to have a mommy like you
