The initiative for the tour at night came from Joran, but he did not have his driver's license yet. The most logical answer is that 21-year old Deepak was driving. Maybe in his dad's car, or his own car, it is not quite sure.

They get a feel of the physical layout of the Kalpoe house.

They got several new teams, the Dutch investigators.  They have to make a decision to move forward with prosecution or decide to close the case.

With the bungled prosecution you need to swiftly move forward to prosecute, or slow roll it and let it die quietly.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt we have to assume that they have already searched the house and a new inspection would possible be because of new info.

Martha:  K2' s objected to this weekends search.  They were escorted off the premises for a short time.

Q for JQK: what the snooping around at the K2's house?

JQK: What was conducted was call a "premises inspection", I don't know if you remember about 10 days ago that the authorities actually conducted a search of the VDS residence.

JQK: Where they were looking for physical evidence and seizing things, That was  conducted by an examining Judge, this time is was just the Prosecutors going into the K'2 residence to analyze and inspect the premised just to get a feel for the physical layout of the premises and see if the statements made by the K2's is consistent with the physical layout there.

Martha: Is all of this being prompted by a new lead or new evidence or is this just the Dutch Gov't wanting to tie this up with a bow?

JQK: They have got several new teams in place down there, there's a lot of cooperation down there coming from the Dutch authorities, Dutch investigators, Netherlands, Dutch institute, Forensic Institute helping them, I think they have to make a final decision now whether they are going ahead with a prosecution or say they have done their best and walk away from the investigation at some point.

Since SM's opinions are more accurate I don't feel the need to write what they said, except Kimberly said she thinks they might have something as a former prosecutor she would be doing what they are doing prior to going to court-my words not hers exactly. Another disagreed with Kimberly.

Just read your response on the last thread regarding the 'car'...the thought had crossed my mind while searching the net for Honda pics because I found many different tail lights & parts sites.

Mere, DiHannah & J4N glad you got the interview. They talked way too fast for my foggy brain which is functioning on about 4 hours of sleep. My cat got bit by a snake yesterday evening. Been a long almost 24 hours between the emergency clinic & my regular vet. She is gonna be fine just has to spend a couple days at the vet pet hotel.

Thanks to you guys for the summaries.  

IMO - this investigation just "feels" different.  The Dutch Investigators are keeping to themselves, seperating their investigation from ALE et al.  I am hopeful that they are working to be able to bring charges.  I think they are trying to pull together all the info they have in order to do that.  At least I hope so.

He does sound a little like he thinks they are preparing for court.
No one can accuse these investigators of allowing the media or Beth to do anything to their investigation just as ALE should have done.

ALE = just chase rumors because they are too lazy or whatever to actually investigate.

Then blame Beth for their own failure.

Surely their "system" does not disregard statements.  If it does, why on earth would ALE have spent all that time taking them?  And if they count for something, those suspects have incriminated themselves over and over.

I have had a dog get snake bitten and she made it just fine if that helps.  Boy, does she hate snakes now, haha.  She has killed two since that happened.  Water moccasin at pond.  Then she killed two non-poisonous ones later.

This feels different to me as well.  They do a surprise visit to the Kalpoes on a Saturday morning, wake them up, get them out of the way, spend an hour in the house and leave with nothing.  To me that sounds like they had a very specific mission planned and new exactly what they were looking for.  Why they checked out a laptop and a cell phone at this date is a little mysterious to me, but they definitely did not waste a lot of time at the place.

John Q is hard to read, keeps his cards close to his vest. I am sure he tells Greta everything she can keep secret, which is absolutely, zero, zilch, nada.  He learned quickly about that loud-mouthed turn-coat.

I don't see how the defense could get past Natalee being in the car and there is no evidence of her being in the car, there has/had to be DNA of her in the car, plain and simple IMO.

I don't see how they could explain that away, they have already admitted that Natalee was in the car.

Os - I think you have hit the nail on the head.  Yes, they have their inconsistant statements, lies, PVs that none match or add up.... They are now looking for physical evidence and inconsistancies in their time lines and/or cell and computer records.

I wonder if once they get all their evidence together, if they will approach one or more of the suspects and give them a chance to confess and turn evidence...Or if they will go for the whole bunch... I guess it depends on the evidence they have gathered.

But all they found was supposedely 'chocolate' and 'cleaning fluid', right?

I believe that the silence of Beth Twitty is furthering the Aruban agenda of protecting Paulus and Joran.  It was the voice of this determined mother who would stop at nothing in her quest for answers ... in her quest for justice ...  in her quest to expose the corrupt investigation.  Beth asked the hard questions that dictated media attention.  According to Natalee's father, Dave Holloway, the focus of the media on the disappearance of his daughter is only reason that Aruba is going the motions of an investigation ... the only reason for one horse and pony show after another.

Aruba cannot win.  Beth may required a time to renew her strength ... renew her spirit but ... justice for Natalee demands that she again has to rise up and be heard.  This incredible woman needs to continually remind the world that conflicts of interest within the Aruban investigation is prevent jutice from prevailing.

ALE has known who did what and what happened since June 2005. The evidence, the statements, it was all there. The decision was made to coverup the crime and the Dutch looked the other way. Two years have passed, the Dutch are here, not to meter out justice but to see how deep the corruption had gone. If they can hang the perps on what evidence is left, they will. However, I think they are there to clean the place up, so this won't happen again. This is more an investigation of ALE/MEP than one to solve the NH case.

I'm a little confused.  They never went to the Kalpoe's that night, that we know of.  I'm just wondering what 'looking' at the house could provide them, especially with timelines and cellphones.  Even if they had taken anything to there house after the crime, certainly they would have gotten rid of it after 2 yrs.  What am I missing here?

Well that's true.  There is no doubt she was in it, so how could there be 'nothing'.  I gotcha.  Not to mention, cleaning fluid was found!  So that could prove cleaning the car that night, which is questionable enough in itself.

I believe there is a specific reason for her silence.  She's been advised to stay quiet for now.  Dave is talking on there behalf and it IS staying in the news.  As somebody said earlier,  ALE or nobody can blame HER for interferring with anything now.  I believe if it becomes necessary, with no results from current investigation and things quiet down, she'll be back out again.  It could have something to do with the Phil case too for right now.

I don't think you are missing anything, it is strange to say the least, unless the Dutch know something, from someone new that led them there, I can see them checking out the cell tower stuff, but they could have done that outside of the house. They might just be trying to rattle their cage, in hopes they will mess up now that will hang themselves. I know if it were me I would be worrying, but they are heartless monsters this might not move them in the least.

Maybe they have made a list of what is true and what is a lie and they are working from that angle. Ruling something in or out so to speak. Just hope it leads to arrests soon....

The house, known as Casa Liliana, was sealed off with tape by police while men in white suits and masks began a search inside. They are believed to have drained the villa's swimming pool.

Police guards were on the doors outside.

Sky News Correspondent Ian Woods said the property being searched belonged to British woman Jennifer Murat and her son Robert Murat.

Mr Murat has been assisting journalists in their coverage of the disappearance of the four-year-old British girl.

He was pictured on Sky News during the search for Madeleine wearing a light-coloured shirt and dark glasses. Sunday Mirror journalist Lori Campbell alerted police over her suspicions about him.

I was thinking the same thing, Anna.  Possibly they're work schedules are different on Fri/Sat and the Dutch team knew it.  

I too am most encouraged by the fact that the Dutch team has locked ALE out of their 'working room' and are not allowing them access to their master plan.  

I'm also encouraged by Beth's silence right now.  We all know that if she could further the cause by being out there, she would be - so it's definately for the best - whatever the reason.  I think that can only be good and point to a good faith effort on behalf of this new team.

That was my point.. the cops were getting very desperate and the psychics were flying in last nite from all over to cause all kinds of problems... they seem to have got a good break that they recognized and might have their man right now...

Interesting contrast in the two cases.  The mother of Robert Murat insists that a thorough search be done and when nothing is found that it be announced publicly.  Probably a bad move on  her part, but the way I think most people would react to such a thing.

If Murat is the culprit... it's not going to turn out good imo... he doesn't appear to have a place to stash a child and he has been in 'PLAIN VIEW' the entire time.

It was determined ...  on appeal by Karin Janssen ...  by the Superior Court earllier this year that Paulus Van der Sloot would not be awarded compensation as there was evidence (wiretap and declaration) that Paulus' detention was indeed justisfied.  I believe that this is huge ... yet the American media has been silent.  Why?

In spite of the Superior Court ruling ... the ruling of the judge that declared Paulus no longer a suspect ... has not been reversed.  Why?

It must be remembered that it was Karin Janssen letter to the courts that allowed Paulus to be released from suspect status and ... therefore allowed him to practice law on Aruba.  If, at that time, Karin Janssen was aware of this wiretap and declaration that implies that Paulus lied regarding his actions on that fateful morning ... why did she submit that letter recommending that he be released as a suspect?

Dihannah ... nobody is asking the hard questions.   Paulus and Joran are so arrogant.  They do not have a care in the world ... they write books ... go to school ... practice law ...  Those two seem to have assurance that they are untouchable ... they will never be held accountable for any of their dispicable actions in regards to this case.

The Beth Twitty that we have all come to know ... love and ... respect ... would never have remained silent on this issue.  Why changed?

Rob - I've been watching the videos at the Skynews site and I haven't seen any dogs in this search.  I'd sure feel alot better if they had some dogs with them.  Maybe they do and just didn't catch them on video.

I'm starting to think Joran might have actually had a car.

Here's why.

The Kalpoes had only known Joran 2 months for Deepak and 3 months for Satish, according to a known liar named Joran van der Sloot... rhythms with goat.

How did anyone associate the car to him if he and the Kalpoes hardly had any previously relationship beyond 3 months max?

I think I have heard enough to let me conclude he did drive.

I don't know if he drove much, but I believe he and others his age on Aruba do drive and it doesn't seem to be a huge secret.

I saw an internet cafe change hands in front of my eyes licky split... and car would be nothing.

I believe they would use bio-suits if they were investigating a scene so as to not contaminate the scene.  Locard's Principle....you take something and leave something from wherever you go.  Maybe something small but it's there somewhere.......

Not to be contrary, but I have been listening & watching and believe it is live.  The reporter just said a little bit ago that it's 11PM there in Portugal and then a guy she interviewed mentioned having spoken to someone at 7 this evening.

Nothing wrong with that; it is high time most people realized that elderly abuse is as significant and predominant as child abuse.  Children and healthcare workers, thugs and others abuse the elderly ad nauseum.  Nothing much is done about it as society does not really view the elderly population in the same way they view youth, unfortunately but it goes on all the time.  Hospital beds, nursing homes, ER rooms, the streets and private homes are full of abuse of the elderly.

Well, I don't know if they're updating the news, but the clock beside where it says "breaking news" keeps updating the time.  :D

Maybe the police are draining the pool in the investigation for Maddy, because there might be bits or pieces of evidence that are small and can't be seen from topside.  Also, perhaps they want to drain it and check the filters and such for any pieces of evidence-a bit of cloth or anything.

Tyler, of course I want to know your opinion.  This effort by the Dutch as of late could all be a dog and pony show, but I hope not.  How do any of us REALLY know?  And there are different theories and opinions, and yours should be respected as much as anyone else's and I'm open to what you have to say.  No one should flame you for your opinion.  I remain hopeful there will be justice for Natalee.  Just how that will happen, I don't know.

I think they wanted the element of surprise in both of these visits.  Something caused them to do a thorough search at the sloot place.  The lighthouse visit was probably just because it was mentioned in some of the statements as an important location.  It could have had to do with timing, topography, etc.  The Kalpoe thing is the most curious.  They had to be looking for something specific, or checking to make sure early statements actually matched the environment.  I think it had to do with their weak alibis that night.  

What happens next should be very interesting and start to give us an idea in which direction they are leaning.

There have been so many layers of lies and most likely destroyed evidence that at times it's hard to believe the truth will be revealed.  However, it has been said there is no such thing as a perfect crime.  I think some of these investigators can pick up signs and bits and pieces and put enough together to know something really went wrong.  Why else was so much time, money and energy spent covering up?  There must be something big under all of this, besides Natalee's disappearance.  At times it worries me that the Dutch might have a good idea of just what went down, but maybe the corruption goes up farther than they feel comfortable with...and they won't bring it to the light.  See, even I get to feeling dismal about the thing.  I still hope for justice.

EASY - I don't remember exactly but I want to say it was late last summer, maybe August they sent the entire 400lbs of the dossier to the Netherlands.

Still trying to find that date.  Seems the Netherlands was asked to help in late August 2006 but I'm looking now for when the files were sent.

I was hoping it could be finger-printed before its disposal to the Netherlands.  I feel quite sure since there are so many missing pages, many of these were removed by the reporter who (foot in mouth) said, "I have seen the whole dossier."  

Remember that gotcha moment when I called her on that.  You know who I am talking about.

It was tough BT!  I had to keep getting up and walking around.  It was an icky kind of Monday, plus we had a lot of smoke from Florida and Georgia.  Just made the whole day kind of suck. lol

I don’t know about the rest of you, but anytime someone that is on message boards every day tells me that I spend too much time on message boards; they tend to lose a little credibility. lol  Then when they go on to point fingers at people and claim that those people are pointing finger at the three primary suspects in a crime, I question why their keepers have allowed them to have unmonitored internet access.

Plus, my geriatic cat did some gymnastics last night and missed her mark on my shoulders and for a while, I had a ten pound cat hanging by the dirty toenails offa my arm. Blood and pain. I don't know why the cat was crying, I was the one bleeding. Forget about sewing, have to weld an outfit if these cats keep this up. They are on probation and I've been giving them the look ! ! I had a tetanus shot 2 years ago so I don't need one of those. Been taking care of it so it doesn't turn uglier.

They thrive on the negative, you say red (excuse the pun), they will say black just to start an argument. Most do only what they want when they want and only to benefit them, no team work or creative discussion like we find here.

ARUBA – The Netherlands will soon send constables to Aruba to investigate the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.  The Netherlands does this at her own expense.  The Corps National Police Service in the Netherlands (KLPD) is going to help Aruba with the Holloway-case.  They do this upon request of Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP).  Croes has also asked Interpol to thoroughly examine the file.  

Holloway disappeared more than a year ago during a school trip.  The authorities have worked on that case since then, without finding any trace of the girl.  Minister Croes has sent a letter to The Hague a week ago requesting assistance.  He hopes that with police assistance from the Netherlands, the case will be solved faster,

“Aruba sympathizes with the parents and close family of the girl, despite the negative campaign against the island”, writes Croes in the letter.

The request went to minister Johan Remkes (VVD) of Home Affairs and the minister of Kingdom Relations, Atzo Nicolai (VVD).   As a result of the request, the KLPD will get full leadership of the investigation.   Police officers of the Dutch corps will come to Aruba especially for the investigation.  The Netherlands will also pay for the accommodation expenses of these officers in Aruba and also the expenses for the commitment.  They will also get a location of their own, out of which they can work on the case.   The police officers are allowed to carry a gun and use it and they get power of criminal investigation.  They will also get access to relevant information from the Holloway-file and all the information system.  

Minister Croes promised in his letter that the Dutch officers will get full cooperation of the investigation authorities and the government.  Croes has also formally requested the Interpol to investigate the file for irregularities.  “Upon request of the attorney general, Interpol had meanwhile tried to get the not yet released data by the FBI (the American federal police, editor)”, mentioned the minister in the letter.  

The Public Prosecutor confirmed being aware of the request, but emphasized that it didn’t come from attorney general Theresa Croes–Fernandez Pedra,  but from the Justice-minister himself.  He had asked Interpol for assistance in July, when he visited the headquarters of the international police organization in Lyon, France.

The OM is also aware of the cooperation between the corpses from the Netherlands and Aruba and mentioned that this was done on police level and that the OM had not made the request.  “The criminal investigation in the Holloway-case is still open.  If the Dutch police can help, they are more than welcome to do so”, said Mariaine Croes.

O/T but I assume the story of the bank robbery here in the Birmingham area made the national news.

I used the ATM at that bank branch Saturday afternoon, and go by there often although I don't have an account there. I didn't know any of the employees. 2 of the tellers were killed (one was pregnant) and a third is very critically injured.

Some of the tortures my fellow menfolk in here have referenced at times, seem quite appropriate for the human garbage that did this. I have a few ideas of my own.

Had to run my virus scan. which my PC is fine. :) I am coloed off now.. I have been here for 2 years and not gonna let some ass chase me off. I didnt hear about that but a few months ago, a guy I went to high school with (graduated in the same class even) stangled his old lady then cut her up and spread her in a park near their house.  It was all over our local news.

The bank manager was briefly taken hostage but she got away because the criminal slipped on the curb and fell, and as she fell also and they had a little separation (he had been holding a gun to her head) the cops shot him. They didn't shoot him enough though, even if the shot he took was in the groin area.

Back in the "old days" when I was about 16.......

My best friend and I went to the shopping mall one weekend.  The restrooms at this mall were behind the stores down a long hall.  We headed off the the restrooms and each went into a stall.  Well, someone came into the ladys room.  It turned out to be a guy with his pants unzipped.  He tried to crawl under my stall and get to me.

Back in those days the pointy toed patten leather shoes were "in" and that's what I was wearing.  I didn't scream, I didn't hollar..what I did was kick the shit out of his face with my pointy toed shoes.  He ran off  :lol:

We went to the mall security guard but he really couldn't do anything since I really didn't get a good look at him except for his bloody face  :lol:  He probably worked in one of the stores.

Not really fighting-Jossy got upset with Greta one night during the VDS house search a couple of weeks ago because she was trying to get him to say the name of a drug dealer/beach bum who is related to someone in official office on Aruba that has a record with the police there and he got a little angry about it.

This case is very distressing.  She was kidnapped while sleeping with her two siblings. The parents were downstairs eating dinner.  The parents thought the children were safe because they checked on them every half hour.  

If the parents had the money to vacation in Portugal, I'm sure they had the money to hire a babysitter / concierge / , etc., to stay with the children.

What was the problem? Were they naive? Were they so isolated from the world of today that they thought it was safe to leave their kids alone?

It was completely stupidity on their part (or else trying to save money) to leave the children alone. The world is not safe anymore, especially for people who have the money to vacation at fancy resorts.

Madeleine would be not be missing if her parents had thought twice about leaving the kids alone.  I have a separate question as to why Madeleine was kidnapped and not the other children.

I took my eye off my daughter Kristi (age 4) for one second in 1970 in a shoe store in Darmstadt, Germany. They had a lot of fun things for kids while the mommies shopped. A slide, all kinds of toys, etc. All of a sudden I couldn't find Kristi. I ran all over the store and she was not there. I don't know what made me walk out the front door of the shoe store. My little Kristi, wearing a pink coat and hat, was outside the door crying and screaming in English.  No one understood what she was saying.  

We ran towards each other and I scooped her up, both of us crying our eyes out.  She said she couldn't find me and she went outside to look and went into a panic.

In these days and times, it is not safe to leave your children alone, even though they are sleeping. I feel sorry for the parents. If they get Madeleine back, I'm sure they will never again leave their kids alone.  

They were ineffective parents.

I think so too Klaas.  They did an initial cleaning, and then when they seen that it was about to hit the fan they really started cleaning.  I'll always believe that either the cars were switched or the interior was replaced.

I have a feeling JQK is more optimistic than a 5 and just doesn't want to say it.  I liked hearing from him that he believe we will see something else happening with the Dutch team in the next week or so.  Sounds to me like he's getting some information.

I had a pscho boss who made my life heck for several years. Finally, on my way to work every morning, I started saying to myself "God is bigger than my boss." Within about 3 months of when I started to say that, she resigned after being there for years and years and moved to another state.  :D

I hope they checked for an extra connection, something like an added illegal one, some have called piggyback, wireless or some such that gave them a totally off the record connection and that they are on to checking that aspect as well.

The official phone records look like something compiled by the fifth grade class.  I don't think they are at all complete and one of the reports even stated so, saying some things had been deleted from the hard drive.  Well, duh!
