Hi Mrs.  No I didn't see it, but a couple posters mentioned it.  Sorry I missed it!

it was probably one of the best segments I have seen on Tim Miller... it was a little dated... but they did a nice job of talking about TIm and his loss.... I had forgotten that he receieved that nasty letter early in this case talking about his daughter's murder.

Lordy, how could anybody send HIM a nasty letter!  People are just so sick and nasty anymore.  It's disheartening....

BTW, since it seems everybody disappeard suddenly.  Just wanted to say I appreciate your post in the Political thread.  You are so right and I am afraid we as a country are losing that faith.

I didn't but some people did, they said it was really good.  I posted some info about the show and Tim from the AMW website.

I think a lot of posters when they submit a post and it leap frogs them a few posts or even a page ahead they then continue on from there and so they miss the posts in between.  Do I make sense with that explanation?
I try to read all the posts and catch up when I can, then if I am too far behind it is pointless answering as someone will have beaten me to it.
The time difference does not help me sometimes.

Thanks, Mrs. Red, Tibro and tcmom.  I don't mean to gripe but I read some of these wild ideas and they are from people who have I am assuming  been gone for a while or are new.  But they are experts and have no time for those who have been here from the beginning!  I don't claim to know it all because even though I have been here from the beginning I have not had the time as others have to study and document all the details of this case.  There are many who are very well versed here who are not appreciated.

I understand exactly what you're saying, and I just tell myself that's why there's usually not a reply to what I post.  :?  :wink:

Good Evening My Monkeys,
I just watched Tim on AMW, what a sweet man he is. He really did deserve to have his story told. What I also noticed about the show is when they were talking about the aruba search, they said the search was stopped by the aruban government....Yeah, All the people who don't read here on SM or just don't do the internet thing heard THAT, I don't think a lot of people know that fact, but now they do. Plus the end of the program Natalee's sweet picture was the last missing persons face you saw. I then I cryed my head off. But I am better now. Just wanted to say that and back to lurking. Love ya guys!!

I think people are just trying to see if anything has been overlooked.  Since there's no real news they are digging up the old stuff.

casa ~ you're not griping; I understand what you're saying.  During the school year, it's hard to keep up with the monkeys.  Can't even read during my 30 minute lunch, as the topdogs in my district have blocked almost everything on our computers. :evil:   I've been on more since school's out . . .a treat for me.  :)

I understand what you are saying.... I agree.  I also don't mind to be honest wild ideas, but everyone needs to be allowed to discuss what they believe without feeling put out .... or sqlueched if their theory doesn't match the films, videos, or any other ideas that may be floating out there....

I see some of that on our news and it is interesting to know what is behind a lot of it and others views.
Then I get my turn in the Aussie thread and put some newsy bits in there I think the monkeys may be interested in.  8)

BTW I do enjoy reading the Political Thread too.

I know what you mean. It is  hard to keep up when so much is blocked and there is no time to breathe much less get on the computer!  Part of being a teacher!  You have no life beyond school.  No time for lunch, break and very little free time cause have to grade papers or write lesson plans!  And they wonder why they can't hire teachers!

Well, what was interesting about the AMW, Tim Miller segment, was when they were showing the water search from the last time in Aruba. Discussing the sophisticated side scanner sonar.

That is nothing compared to what they will be bringing this time to Aruba, thanks to a group of people helping out with the search who we will be discussing in more detail in the future.

Their equipment is really something to marvel at. The deep water searching is really quite fascinating. The best comparison I can make is some of the video when groups searched for Titanic.

RED - do we know the names of the ships?  Does this group do ocean searches regularly?  Are they someone we may have heard of?

Edited to add:  At Refugees someone is saying that it's impossible someone would donate such equiptment.

I saw a lot of the search and investigation of the Titanic on TV.  Some of the equipment they used was right out of the space programme technology.

Well, I took everybodies suggestions and named her Tinkerbell.  Then the whole Paris Hilton thing broke and somebody mentioned her dog's name. I then had to reconsider  :lol:   She's still unnamed right now!

Yes, this company does regular deep water searches ... that is their job. However, everyone must remember that deep water searches are not usually for people.

As for the Refugees, consider the source ... I guess it tells you a lot about someone who would say others would not donate such equip. Guess they are referring to themselves as they would not help others.

These people know less than nothing and have "ZERO" inside information. Why is it a stretch that this company would donate their time? Who's to say that Aruba is not on their way to another destination that they may have another job? Who's to say that someone isn't being benevolent?

Just because some would never do anything to help another, certainly does not mean everyone is that way.

That's why water seeks its own level on a certain site that makes no sense to even reference.

Teachers are so under rated - they influence the next generation more than parents seem to do these days.
Do they pay according to results or length of service there?  They are discussing possibly paying according to results here at present.

Its been a while since I emailed Robert Cook. He is certainly always welcome on SM. Robert and I had some great conversations when we were in Aruba as we roomed together.

Its a good idea, I will chat with Tim and see if we can't make it happen. Robert is a good man.

People will be able to ask all kinds of questions. We are still going to control the questioning so that Tim does not get overwhelmed; however, all will be able to ask anything they wish.

The logistics of doing this is tremendous. There are many involved who are going. They are not renting a 30 ft boat. This is a tremendous undertaking.

And Red did not have any vacation days available, ;). kidding.

Thank you very much. He had cancer and my ex has been with him almost 24/7 and he's only 23 years old, trying to do school and all too. with no help. It's been very rough for him.

But with the two big ships going I guess there was a lot to organise and tie it all together.
I  feel so sorry for Natalee's family having to wait over two years to maybe get answers.  I hope they do get answers and their loved daughter is able to come home, at least in this way.

He is going to need a lot of support now too.  It leaves a dreadful loss in your life when you have been a full time carer and suddenly not needed that way any longer, added to the grieving that we all go through.

I'm going to do my best to be there for him as much as possible. I can't imagine loosing my father. I just don't know what to say to him, you know? I guess there is nothing to say and I just hold his hand when he needs me.

Yes that is all you can do, and it will be enough just for him to know you are there.  He will not understand what he feels himself for a long while.
When my dear Mum died the one thing that stayed in my mind were the people who did NOT offer any moral support even though they had been what we felt were good friends.  The ones that just visited and sat quietly with us were the ones that helped the most.

I jumpped in late as well.. 8) Look back a few pages..Red said he will most likely release the company this week that is helping TES and should have a date soon when they are leaving.

Doing a fly by on my way to bed but the reporter and cameraman had been covering some sort of car racing in Curacao.  Now the odd thing is around this same time of their suicides we read in the papers about a fight in a bar involving racer people from Curacao.

Don't remember if it was C&C or Bahia but think it was one of those two bars where there was a bad fight and I think the race people beat up a couple of tourists badly.  The tourist thought ALE had to know who this crew would be as they identified them very well but don't think much was done to the attacking pit crew or whatever they were.

Klaas or Janet probably have the articles from the newspapers.

At least the car races is what they were "officially" working on from my memory only.  I, too, think something not right with these suicides by hanging.

Am so sorry to hear about your young friend.  Sometimes the best thing to say is not to say anything at all, just accept the person with all their grief.  Let him talk if he needs to or not talk about it if that's what he wants as well.  You will just know what to do when the time comes.

Also I do not think they would be going to such great lengths with the two ships and all the organisation it would entail without being very sure they would be able to search.  Or maybe the search is going to be out of Aruba's jurisdiction?  We really have not had all those details yet and I am sure that is also for a very good reason.  No need to forewarn the culprits of their intentions or search area.

The Netherlands forces Aruba to matters she doesn’t want to  

ORANJESTAD – “There is no war between the two countries of the Kingdom, but it can be better”, says the Aruban Prime Minister Nelson Oduber (MEP).

He says that the Netherlands seizes the drastic political changes for the Antillean islands to force Aruba to matters she doesn’t want to.  According to him, there is a chance that achievements are reversed, because also St, Maarten and Curacao won’t get these with the new political structure and the Netherlands is striving to be univocal.    

“ Aruba does not want independence; we cannot handle that. Aruba wants financial independence and no supervision from the Netherlands .  Aruba wants to work together with the other islands in certain fields, like justice, criminality, and safety.”

Last week during his visit to The Hague , Oduber wanted to talk to the Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende in order to come to a good relationship.  But that was not possible and the Aruban premier was also not admitted to the Federal Council of Ministers.

The article Klaas posted sounds like Aruba wants it both ways to me.  They want to be independent and not have to answer to anybody but want all the bennies from the Dutch they had before.

Just kidding, I know what you mean, one that is sort of transluscent so you can tell if the shower is occupied by a lunatic welding a huge knife or something.



A couple of generations have been traumatized by that shower scene.  I always hesitate when looking in the bathtub/shower because of it to this day.  But I do always check there when looking for the monsters/invaders just as I do under the beds.

I'm surprised CharlieRat posted all those photos of the bare beaches but then he never was very smart,  :lol:

They do not look at all like the beach scenes we saw from before Natalee disappeared and they refused to provide even the slightest semblance of justice to her family.

Those are the man-made beaches in the resort area.  I wonder if they have to be maintained to prevent them from going back to the rougher state of the natural ones.

I much prefer the lush, tropical vegetation on islands, not the desert and ugly growth on Aruba.

The Netherlands forces Aruba to matters she doesn’t want to  

ORANJESTAD – “There is no war between the two countries of the Kingdom, but it can be better”, says the Aruban Prime Minister Nelson Oduber (MEP).

He says that the Netherlands seizes the drastic political changes for the Antillean islands to force Aruba to matters she doesn’t want to.  According to him, there is a chance that achievements are reversed, because also St, Maarten and Curacao won’t get these with the new political structure and the Netherlands is striving to be univocal.    

“ Aruba does not want independence; we cannot handle that. Aruba wants financial independence and no supervision from the Netherlands .  Aruba wants to work together with the other islands in certain fields, like justice, criminality, and safety.”

Last week during his visit to The Hague , Oduber wanted to talk to the Dutch Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende in order to come to a good relationship.  But that was not possible and the Aruban premier was also not admitted to the Federal Council of Ministers.

FOUR TOURISTS - mid day Aruba on the fast track

Every time hair would start popping out on Tommy Kirk sis would squeal and hide her eyes. We never got to see the end of the Incredible Shrinking Man either, because she started thinking she was shrinking!   :(

When my ex and I were dating, we often had to drag my little brother (the prince) along with us for hamburgers or a movie...where he wanted to sit between us.....guess how we took care of the movie problem...yep...The Blob.... :D

How Steve McQueen managed to come across cool in that movie is the biggest mystery about it.  Why didn't people just out run that blob?  I mean it was moving at a pace that made a snell look like a bottle rocket!

I already addressed this point in the "Let's Make Fun of the MonKKKeys" thread but I'll be glad to address it again here.

In case it was not obvious to the monKKKeys, I prefer scenery shots over people shots. Plus, I consider it to be rude to aim a camera at complete strangers and take their picture without their knowledge or permission. So I intentionally tried to get empty stretches of beach in my photos.

Believe it or not, monKKKeys, the purpose of my trip was purely pleasure; I was not trying to prove any points to the likes of you losers in the Klan.

There's also a technical issue invovled here. If you look in the distance at the Eagle Beach, Baby Beach and Arashi shots, you will, in fact, see that there are consider numbers of people in the distance. My digital camera tends to focus on the foreground so the people in the distance look like little black specks. But, trust me, they are there.

On the same note, the flight to Aruba from Atlanta was nearly full and everywhere I went, I saw substantial crowds of guests having the times of their lives. That is, the beaches all had good crowds on them and the restaurants and tourist sites also all had nice crowds. In short, the island was jumping from end to end.

I met a bunch of people from Georgia, Tennessee and, especially, the New England area (Boston was very well represented). Most of the people I met were on Aruba for the first time in their lives and every one of them (without exception) was officially in love with One Happy Island. A few had already bought timeshares and every one of them (again, without exception) talked enthusiastically about their next trip to paradise.

When I first became aware of Aruba because of this Natalle Holloway case, I did look at the tourist glossies. La Cabana seemed like a place I would go, the all ages aspect of it.
Now, I wouldn't set foot there. Safety is an issue with me.

I don't know how much or how far I can believe these types of things. But I do believe that there are people who are intuitive.
They pick up on body language, speech patterns, timber in the voice,
eye movements, blinking, breathing, sweating, the way a sentence is strung together.
The same things that polygraphs pick up on in a more scientific recordable manner.
Good policemen would have those skills honed. Therapists. Anyone who deals with people and who is good at it.

DUBOIS: Well, in this case, you have the right suspects.  They‘re completely guilty.  The things that I would find important to be looking at, if I were working this case, would be, for instance, that these three boys have done this to other girls before that were visiting Aruba as tourists.  It just hasn‘t escalated to murder, but I would look at the pattern that was set down by their past victims.  

COSBY: Now, Allison, you said that these guys are completely guilty.  

DUBOIS: Yes.  

COSBY: You know, they haven‘t been convicted.  

DUBOIS: Sure.  

COSBY: Why do you say that?  

DUBOIS: Well, fortunately, I can head tap people.  That‘s what they use me to do for jury selection for the prosecution and to head tap people who commit murders.  So I know that, just by looking at their picture, whether or not they committed the crime.  

I can also tell you that Jordan Van Der Sloot‘s father knows a lot more than he‘s saying and, in my mind, is almost as guilty as they are, because he has helped to cover up this crime.  

COSBY: Now, what is head tap?  And what role, also, did Joran‘s father play, in your mind?

DUBOIS: Head tapping is when I basically can see through the eyes of the person who committed the crime.  And I do understand Mr. Holloway‘s concern in religion.  And I always say, if you‘re going to bring somebody in that does what I do to make sure you bring someone in that‘s valid, that has a track record, ethically, and that‘s able to bring in specific details of a crime.  

I don‘t think they should work necessarily with the parents of the victim, but the law enforcement involved, which makes it difficult in this case because it‘s a foreign government that‘s being dealt with, which makes it even more difficult.  

COSBY: Now, Allison, you know, the big question everyone is wondering, is Natalee dead or alive?  What‘s her state?  

DUBOIS: Well, and with all due respect to the parents, and I hope I say this with sensitivity, she was not sold on the black market.  She has passed.  And I think, right now, we‘re just working to maybe find a little justice for her.  

I‘m all for the boycott, because any pressure that you put on the government is going to be good in getting something out of them other than what they‘ve offered up.  

COSBY: And real quick, I don‘t know if you can foresee the future, but will we see closure to this case, real quick?  

DUBOIS: I actually do think one of the boys will turn on the other boys and offer up something that will lead to a resolve of the case.  I always did see them near the water with her.  So my concern is that Van Der Sloot knew exactly where to put her, water-wise, where the decomposition or the elements in the water would make it so that she would not be found.

Perhaps that pride is premature.  How did you know on Monday that "The Girl" (her name is Natalee in case no one in Aruba has heard that yet) was missing to be discussing this with Freddie?  You even admit it in your book that it was May 30.

Natalee's plane did not leave until afternoon on Monday and there was not yet any news coverage.

I'd call that a major screw up on your part.  There are many instances of you and the Kalpoes messing up like that.  This is maybe the most imperfect crime ever.  Not even the professional cover up has deterred from just about everybody in the world knowing who is guilty.  Except for a few more interested in free gambling junkets.

But please let me know how you knew all about it on Monday to tell Freddie.

Doing a fly by on my way to bed but the reporter and cameraman had been covering some sort of car racing in Curacao. Now the odd thing is around this same time of their suicides we read in the papers about a fight in a bar involving racer people from Curacao.

Don't remember if it was C&C or Bahia but think it was one of those two bars where there was a bad fight and I think the race people beat up a couple of tourists badly. The tourist thought ALE had to know who this crew would be as they identified them very well but don't think much was done to the attacking pit crew or whatever they were.

Klaas or Janet probably have the articles from the newspapers.

At least the car races is what they were "officially" working on from my memory only. I, too, think something not right with these suicides by hanging.

Anna, Yeh I read about that bar fight as well!!! I know that was not at C&C and I believe it was Bahia..When I researched the reporter that story on Racing was all I could find. Rumor's were flying around afterwards that it was a love triangle similar to what they said about pitbull..All BS!!

These suicides are extremely disturbing and highly questionable..I tried to translate Diario from the last suicide and the word violent and assasinate was in his writing. I am not sure if Jossy would tell us anything about this as its obvious there is someone evil at work here. Even though the female reporter was covered in bedding my heart ached for her. It looked extremely violent to me!! One person hanging themselves with a hand in the pocket is suspicious but two people in a row!! :shock:

I am not saying this has to do with Natalee.. I am just suspicious that there hand was in the pocket after jumping and hanging to there death. The Investigation ruled all of them suicides...Quite clear that it was a warning/calling card of whoever did it. I can't help but think the GOVT is involved. Also if anyone has Direct TV.. be sure to check your guide for the Court Tv station. For the last few days the channel  it is SUPPOSE to be on.. it hasnt. Its a blank channel. I called Direct TV.. they said its been changed from 203 to 246. I dont know if that is just in my area,, or goes for all subscribers of Direct Tv satellite. Hubby looked on the guide.. its on there as well.

I put a little bit of an interesting backstory about this "Missing in Paradise" show coming up on Wednesday night on my blog.  I also learned that a friend of Beth's made contact with them initially and they went to Birmingham where they were given some unwashed tee-shirts belonging to Natalee.

The ghoulish conversation last evening/day about hangings made me go to some very odd websites.
Hanging :  Not as easy as it looks. That is why they had hangmen to
figure out from the weight of the person how much of a " drop" is needed.
Else... decapitation... oops, that drop was too deep.
Or .. strangulation... drop not deep enough. This could lead to unnecessary suffering ( for the spectators ). As it takes a long time.
The lawyer person who hung himself in SA in a closet that was shorter than himself... well either it was a murder staged to look as a suicide or  ?? I have no reasonable explanation.

I read today in our local paper about this site. I haven't had time to check it out thoroughly, but it does look interesting.

Doe Network uses police/media reports, "unidentified female", etc. and tries to cross reference these with missing persons reports to help identify "John Doe" victims.  They would not be involved with a case unless there is an unidentified victim.  Some of the cases they work are not crimimal, but victims of acccidents, etc. where the victim cannot be identified.  

In some cases, they have brought in forensic artists to recreate the faces of victims when only skeletal remains were found, and use age progression computer programs to try to match missing persons with bodies not claimed by families.  They do some fascinating work in these areas.

Gosh!  BT Our area is smack dab in the middle of that exceptional drought area too.  I so enjoyed the rain we got today, yet I realize it will do little to lessen the drought.  It just felt so good to feel it on my face and smell the freshness that came with it.

I still have a desert in my back yard.  I don't think I like it either, reminds me of Aruba.  Lots of dirt and little beauty.

I know that many of you are skeptics it comes to psychics, and I agree there are many pretending to have that ability but actually are big fakes.  I have however been touched by someone many years ago that has made me a cautious believer that some have this gift.

When my son was a toddler he loved to take things out of my purse.  One day I realized that my keys were missing after returning from the store.  I had driven to the store so new I had them coming home.  We were having a dinner party that night, and I was focused on that, and I was paying any attention to my purse.  

The next day I had to run an errand and my keys were not to be found anywhere.  It wasn’t a large bunch of keys, just my house key, my parent’s house key, a car key, and a safety deposit box key. I search everywhere looking for the keys.  I took all the cushions off chairs and felt beneath the stitching, sofas, I moved furniture; I looked under beds, in the laundry, in toy boxes.  No keys anywhere.  I looked outside the house, just couldn’t find them it was like that had evaporated.  

I could get a set of duplicate keys, but I was a little concerned about changing locks etc.  It became my focused mystery for months, and I had mentioned it to a number of friends and relatives.  It was really bugging me.  

My sister in law called me one afternoon, and said, almost cautiously that she had a friend that was psychic.  She said she didn’t like it to be known, but she had talked to her and she said she would try to help me.  

I called the woman, and I said the keys have just disappeared, and explained where I had searched.  She just listened.  Then she said, your keys have something to do with food.  They are hidden in something that has to do with food.  She asked if I had been to a restaurant around that time, and is it possible that they keys had fallen in between the seats of the booth? She said she saw them enclosed in something.  I said, no I had the keys to get home and unlocked my house, so it couldn’t be that.  She said, well I can’t tell you exactly where they are, I can only tell you what is am feeling. I know they are between something, and it has to do with food.  I thanked her and thought OK.  We will see.

  I searched my cupboards to see if I had accidentally placed them there while cooking, not there, I searched my refrigerator and freezer to see if my son had dropped them in there.  No luck.  I finally gave up and said they will never be found. My sister in law said that the woman, whom I have never met, asked occasionally if I had found the keys.  
Almost 9 months later someone asked me for a recipe of something I had made.  I pulled down the cookbook and placed it on the counter and it opened by itself!  I looked down and there in the center of my cookbook were my car keys.  I must have used them to keys to keep the book from closing, and then closed it up with the keys there with out realizing it.  

I was so stunned I just sat down and stared at them.  Then I called my sister in law, and asked her to call her friend and tell her she was right, and I had found them.

No, but local churches have been praying for it for weeks.

BT that is a good website.  I checked out some missing people in Australia.  Some I can remember when they went missing.  Also there were some I know about that are not on the site so maybe the families or people concerned are responsible for having them added to the site and not just all the missing folk registered in police files.  So very sad for those that are left wondering.

AZSunny that was an interesting story.  I have respect for genuine psychics but there are a lot of shonks out there, and it is best to be guided by recommendation from someone you know or trust to find a genuine one.  I have a friend I ring up when I lose anything and exhaust all the possible places to look.  She usually is spot on, too.

My hair is super fine but thick, thank goodness.  I inherited my mother's wavy hair so do not have to do much to it.  Just have to have a really good hairdresser who can cut with the wave as it has a mind of its own and if not cut correctly can look a mess.

Print Srceen on Windows   is Shift&Print Sceen to copy to windows clip board.

you press control and the key that says print screen at the same time.  or it may be ALT and print screen.  one of those.  :lol:

OT – I’ve always loved the Celtic Woman concerts on PBS, so a few weeks ago Amazon, or one of them were selling the DVD’s at a discount and I bought them.  Tonight I just got around to listening to one of them.  WOW!  That is a whole new experience in a DVD player with the 5:1 surround and the sub-woofer pounding out the beat of those bass drums.  The whole room is breathing those sounds in and out!

Trust me - I use that Print Screen button a lot.  :lol:

I hit Print Screen while I'm in the database program, then go to Word and paste it so I can print it out and give it to the culprit. Have I mentioned how much they love me there?  :P

Pressed PRINT SCREEN, then went to a new document in word and clicked paste - and voila a copy of my monitor screen.

As you can see I get excited when I try something on the computer and it works!  Have used the things for years at work but no opportunity to experiment with all this "fancy" stuff.  Klaas helped me so much with photos and photobucket etc.

well, then open a word document and right click and paste.  try it!

and the Shift/prt-scr put in the Windows clip board  like a cntl-c will

Me too.. a Mac.. I use  "Grab" a free program.. maybe it has one for Windows. It lets me "grab" ie: get the screen showing or a window. Very helpful

But isn't the an "F" function like F3 or something that is in Windows that copies the screen?

I have never been able to get this computer to copy-paste ANYTHING. I tried all the keyboard combos y'all mentioned and nothing. Now I was trying to use Wordpad and Notepad to copy into (I don't have Word installed) but I expected at least to have the Copy option available after hitting those keys, however it is grayed out.

Well, if he were going to be reading this, I would have to post that you haven't missed much, lol.  But since he isn't, he is a fine man and talented writer.  Would not want to admit that to him, however.

Just one of those situations where we love to rag/tease/argue with each other.  It's how we relate if that makes any sense.  I have neglected to contact him in years as there are just not enough hours in the day and old friends just seem to slip away these days.  He did have what I would call a drinking problem in his youth and guess that is when the teasing all started for me.  He wants to tease me but me not to tease him back, too.  Typical male I guess.

It's sad to think of all the interesting and wonderful people we leave along the path of our lives simply because we do not have the time to do otherwise.

Folks another sweet little tool that costs about $35 is Snag-It which allows you to take scrolling screenshots, snag anything off a web page and save in multiple formats. I've used it for years a love it. it will even record short videos.

How would a baby know to say mommy is in the rug.  Also there was bleach on the floor.  It is obviously someone who goes to the house.   I don't think it was a random act.  They wouldn't take the time to throw the bleach on the floor.  They would run like hell to get out of a house where they don't know who could be coming home at any minute.  JMO.
