Aruba radio reported it about an hour ago.  It is unconfirmed.

About 45 min to an hour ago, Americaninaruba posted that the Aruba radio station said that they have just arrested another subject in the NH case.  Details to follow.  We are still waiting for the details!   :(

There was suppsedly a "raid" on a house in Sevenata (is that right?) and one arrest was made reportedly related to the NH case.  But no details yet.

I was wondering about you.  I thought maybe that happened and was just thinking of sending you a PM to tell you where we were.  lol.

One of my runnings thoughts has always been about the brothers.

From the 100's of pictures spanning since Jan 2004 to June 5, 2005 on Joran, his brother and friends sites, I don't see the brothers. I only see the two recents pictures of them with Joran. I just found it odd. I had always had a thought that they perhaps had just met Joran recently. The pictures of friends seem consistent of who they hang around etc. Seems like a tight knit group and in comes 2 brothers. Interesting.

The brothers show themselves as students. Where do they live? Where do they work? We know little about them and still do. Lack of family or parents even entering the picture. Odd to say the least.

I still find it very distrubing someone who knew Deepak had left a remark about him saying this guy knows what he wants and always gets what he wants. I could make the assumption they come from money but what bothers me the most is..there is nothing about them. They are a mystery.

Just on the radio one time about an hour ago.  Nothing since then, not that I could understand it anyway.  I'm listening, but not sure it will do any good!

Maybe one of the brothers were the one's taking the pictures of Joran and his friends - the camera shy type.

Wich then could lead to a speculation - he does not want to be photographed because he doesn't want to be known.

Well, my first thought was that it made it more likely.  But, I guess if Joran made a call from that area that morning, it could be someone we have not even heard of helped him dispose of a body.

As I see it, another arrest could present the most reason for renewed hope I've seen in days!  PLease Lord, let it be so!

Weren't the California lighthouse @ Arashi and the "lovers lane" at the Marriott both pretty busy areas? Lots of people around? Wouldn't it be easy to find someone who was there about the same time? It wouldn't make sense to go where you could get busted.

Maybe Joran said, Oh before we drop you off I'll show you my school and the other lighthouse -- knowing the place would be completely deserted.

I still keep thinking these guys aren't going to send the police in the right direction. They're going to get far away from the last place she was because they don't want police to find any evidence.

Either that, or Joran liked to show off his conquests so deliberately took girls to well populated areas.

Me too TT.  It really did renew hope.  Maybe it came from information found in Joran's house yesterday.  Maybe he took Natalee there to the house they raided.  And I hate to even bring this up since there are conflicting reports as to his actual involvement in porn, but that is also a possibility if he took her to some house in another town.

So, since early this afternoon, there's been another arrest. Anything else happen, that we know of?

It could be he confided in someone. If he did and that person didn't come forward during the investigation would be arrested as an accomplice.  Wonder if he talked to someone via email?  I highly doubt that because just about anyone knows a hard drive tells all!

No one has confirmed anything regarding the phone call at 6:30 to my knowledge, it was only posted on an internet messgae board.

I don't think it was ever confirmed or pinpointed where that call came from.  If it was cell phone then it would be the tower it bounced from that would be reported and I think the area it mentioned was also much more south like this new house they raided.

You would be surprised how many people do NOT know that one, Nancy. We just had a teacher arrested for soliciting for sex with an underage child and he did it all from his school PC!! The good news is what he thought was a "child" was really an FBI agent.

I think sometimes people don't think about it because they don't realize they are going to be caught or have their computers checked.  They think they are too smooth for it to get that far.  Or maybe they don't think at all.

Remember on Joran's website he had TONS of pictures of two guys he said were his "best friends?" They were named Freddy and Jaime. If they were his best friends, I wonder what he told them. We haven't heard anything from them.

I have been curious to know whether the Aruban cops have been *visiting* any of the known crack houses in the area these past few weeks.  

Surely they know where they are--and if they arrested Mickey and Jones just on the 3Amigos' hearsay, then they ought to follow up on the *lead* given them by Deepak's shared scenario ending.

I'd hate to think that clue wasn't followed up on, even if we all know Natalee wouldn't be in a place like that voluntarily.

I'd just feel better if a spokesperson would "leak" that tidbit of info to someone.

It depends.  The rumor yesterday was that one of the suspects placed a call from the area of Santa Lucia, I think, at 6:30am.  Now, Santa Lucia is around the wildlife preserve that I think they did some flying over yesterday.  But, if the rumor was even remotely wrong and the call was actuall from Santa Largo, it is right there in the same place as the raid today.

Just heard Abrams announce -- "We just learned, that search on the beach, the one where they found the underwear, not related to Natalee."  Still old news.  Sorry for the confusion.

Question for All:

Did anyone here see the hard-core porn part of one of Joran's websites?  I saw one poster way back at the start of the case say that she couldn't even reveal the filth she had just seen there, after visiting the first "mypages" site we all looked at.

I never saw anything horrible on that site, but after Geraldo made his faux announcement about Joran's alleged porn movie with a 14-yr-old, several posters on several forums said they had seen very hard-core stuff on that site of Joran's.

Did any of y'all see it and what was it?  The people who saw it ALL emphasized that it was hard-core, not soft.  Nothing I saw was that bad.

I think that when there is no news and we are all still here we have these conversations to keep things going, make each other laugh a little, and lighten the mood until new news comes along.  I personally think it allows us to get to know each other a little better and opens our conversation up a little more when news does come.  Makes people a little more comfortable about posting.  It's something I enjoy and probably will keep doing.

I thought I just posted this, so i hope this isn't a repeat message.   I realize this is against what most people think, and i have to admit to mostly suspecting Joran as well, but nothing and no one should be ruled out.  
What about the brothers being guilty and perhaps Joran not being involved.  He and Nat depended on the brothers to go off and be alone, it is possible there was nothing more than romance going on there, and when they got ready to leave after visiting the beach, Joran was taken home first on purpose by the bros to get Nat alone away from him.  The bros were in control and had the vehicle and 1 of them was behind the wheel.  Their motives could be to take advantage of her themselves, or kidnap or sell her as others considered.  It is possible that these guys are jealous that they didn't have dates, or just jealous in general of the good-looking womanizing Joran who was successful in both his good grades and success in sports and was never short on girls being interested in him.
They had each other to corrobate the others story, 2 against 1 on what happened, and there was the additional fact that most people at the casino had seen Nat with Joran, so the suspicion would rest with Joran and not them.   We don't know anything about these 2 or their families or their history.
What are others opinions on this theory?

It's possible that the Scum Bros. are directly responsible.  However, Dutchbag and they each gave the same false story about dropping her off at the hotel.  They must have agreed on the lie at some point, so the least any of them can be involved is obstruction of justice or being an accomplice.  They finally turned and Dutchbag said he got dropped off first and Natalee went off with the Scum Bros., while the Scum Bros. said they left Natalee at the beach with Dutchbag.  Either one or both sides could be lying, but they're all involved, at the very least by trying to cover up what happened.

Since you live in Aruba , I have to ask are you familiar with the hotel Natalee was at, from what I read on another forum ( Aruba bulletin board) there are a lot of entrances and only the front desk has a security camera and that some of the kids stayed in the tower(?)

The report on CNN the last half hour had some more details about the original statement of the three.  They all said Natalee fell asleep in the car and had to wake her up to find out what hotel she was staying at.  Well, we know they didn't actually take her to her hotel, but I wonder if there is truth in the falling asleep story.  That's consistent with what the brothers told a friend before they were arrested... and with the possibility of her being drugged.

A thought on the security guards.....

I bet the security guards were arrested just to deflect attention away from the Kalpoes and van der Sloot.  The Aruban authorities may have wanted to show Aruba and the world that they had suspects in jail, mean while they were tracking the real suspects.  If this is true the security guards were just pawns, getting used by authorities and spit out when they were no longer useful.  The authorities may have used their disenfranchized citizens as a cover.  Glad I don't live in Aruba.

Two Unconfirmed Reports

A message board poster on AOL from Aruba is claiming that three additional men are being questioned. And, that this has been going on the last two days or so. Says American news sources are reporting inaccurate information and seems to be solidly defending Van der Sloot in his posts/responses.


Two quotes on AOL message board site:

1) Thank you for being so positive and not blaming this all on the Arubian law enforcement. They are also now talking to three other men.

2) Faces are blocked in the pictures. Can't tell who they are. It was reported first about 3 days ago in awe mainta. No one else has talked about it then saw it again today in awe mainta. Unfortunately all they say is that they are two arubians and one colombian. I can speculate but that is it

That non-English publication should be at the link. I'd think some reader here can likely disprove it. The second unconfirmed report is below.

On Natalee's Yahoo forum there there is a report that a helicopter is searching Santa Lucia area because according to the cell phone records of one of the three suspects there was a call in the Santa Lucia area at 6:30 am the morning Natalee was to have met up with the group to leave for airport.

Santa Lucia is in Santa Cruz....pass the Ayo Rock Formations.... Right where they have the Donkey sanctuary on map on 2nd page of map Body maybe somewhere around area of Ayo Rock Formations.

The only way the one above would be at all credible is if you knew the records mentioned above were difficult to obtain. I can't imagine any scenario wherein the searching of that area, were the record story true, would be taking place this late in the game. Any earlier report that stated the records were obtained and looked at would seriously call into question the above report.

These are two unconfirmed reports. I'm certain a reader here can address one. The other needs to be taken at face value and cannot be confirmed. When something is unconfirmed, its real value is in helping you to draw a conclusion, or confirm something down the road.

The story on Human Trafficking stated that most often the people who were kidnapped were those most vulnerable – the kids on the street.  However it seems to involve women, young girls and boys who are taken to a country and then moved elsewhere, usually to a bordering country.  Countries mentioned to have known trafficking are Cuba, Venezuela, and sorry one other.  If the victims have passports, they are taken from them to reduce the likelihood of them getting out of the country.  They are held in S ex houses until they are a bit older and then not wanted anymore at which point violence is likely.  The US invoked sanctions a few years ago to try to get Venezuela to do something about the problem but only recently have they been willing to admit that they have a problem.  It is not likely that this was NH’s fate but a possibility.

One of the things that was mentioned was that the lawyers ffom the 3 suspects now detained, wil start a case to let them be released, because up till now there is no real evidence, and no charges ..and under dutch laws you can not keep them detained  without evidence and charges

if this trafficing thing is true then it is a possibility, if you have been to aruba you would know that next to carlos and charlies there are the Venesuelan boats who come in everymorning to sell fresh produce from venesuela then leave everynight and do the same again, it is possible that she could have been taken by one of those boats(maybe the 3 men took her to them maybe not) i mean there are much possibilities.

I have been to Aruba several times...but don't drink...and I have never been there so I don't know where is is located.

I thought in the San Nicolas area and that a fun bus took people there.
My husband says he thought last time we were there he saw a small Carlos and Charlie's downtown also.

It's interesting you bring that up.  Before deciding on Aruba, I wanted to visit a place in Columbia that was highly recommended by a friend.  When we told this to our timeshare trade people, they were emphatic.  "Forget about it!  Don't even think about going to Columbia."  So we chose Aruba.

Please.  Untrue.  Why do people repeat things we have established as untrue?  

Surinam Airways is a Suriname government owned airline and always has been.  It does not even fly to Aruba.  Lets stick to the facts.  Maybe the guy, their father is the local agent but he is not the owner and the airline does not fly to or from Aruba.  It has two jet airplanes.  One is a 747 used exclusively on the  Amsterdam-Paramaribo route and an old DC-8 that does Curacao, Trinidad, Cayenne, Belem and such places.   They also have some old prop jobs that do Guyana.  How do I know this?  I have been involved with Suriname for 30 years.

But, the last few times we have been to Aruba the fishing boats were south of town and we didn't go out there for any.

I am a senior...my husband and I would go our separately when we stayed at the Rennisance..I gamble more than him!

If you read the Riehl story, you'll see reference to many of Nat's friends recieving calls from her cell ph. expecting that it was their missplaced friend they found it was Nat's Mom.  She was calling all of them asking what they knew about her actions.  This would have been the first inquiry directed to any of Nat's friends.

Before a whole country is being condemend (ahum, again), perhaps Venezuelans have other stuff to write about, like their crazy president Chavez seeming hell bent on destroying their country, not to mention the weekly kidnaps and murders that occur there.
I'm not saying that this is not an important story to the U.S. and Aruba, but unless some clear evidence surfaces that Venezuela was involved, I don't think people there are going to worry about the fate of one American girl, why there are so many problems affecting their own people.

Our guess is that the people behind the proposal did not think/know of that, otherwise they would have definitely chosen a synonym for the word ban or use a different title.

Thanks Kerin, here is my town they have set up an account for the family.  Natalee's dad is originally from here plus her aunt, uncle and cousins are living here.  They have been in Aruba since the get go and said that they will stay until she is brought home.  America is really pulling for this family.

Papiamentu has to have a ton of Spanish in it then because Va means to go and in Spanish the B and V sounds are el mismo.

I wonder how much Papiamentu is a mix of Spanish then and what?  Portuguese? Dutch?

SORRY TO SAY Just a personal opinion here.  I think that place should be closed.  Over the last couple of weeks I have heard one too many a horror story about people getting too drunk there, assaulted, etc. Whether they are rumors or not I think $5,000.00 US  from all the money they make is really sad.
