Monica Couch, 57, of Horse Shoe said she liked one-stop voting except that voters do not have to show any form of identification when they get to the ballots.

“They just ask you for your name and street address,” Couch said. “Basically, it sets it up for voter fraud.”

North Carolina law states that registered voters only have to present their name and street address at the time of voting, according to Cunningham.

She has been at the elections office for nine years and has never seen someone use another voter’s name and address to vote twice.

If that was to happen, she said the person would still vote if someone had already used the name and address. After that, a provisional board would review the situation.

“No one would be denied the right to vote,” Cunningham said.
