I cannot believe Greta just did an 180 degree about face and completely abandoned the Joran angle she was on. I can't help but believe something bigger is brewing -- it is just too quiet!

The teacher in her and her indepth knowledge of the Natalee Holloway case implies DIL would be in her glory to do some housekeeping on your files.

DIL is the ONLY member of my family who does not just tolerate my obsession with the case.  She truly takes an interested.

However ... a full time teaching position, a husband (my son) and ... other activities implies I practically have to make an appointment with this gal when I need assistance with something I am working on or my files require organizing.

I do make a sincere effort to keeping my files in order after they have been organized but ... in time I do fall short.  I tell DIL that that is an unconscience desire to have some bonding time with her.  It works every time.

If "some" of Natalee Holloway remains were found in the the pond ... what would the point be of Aruban authorities withholding that information from the family of Natalee Holloway.  I believe if Beth Holloway was aware that "some" of Natalee's remains were located in the pond ... she would not have given the Natalee's Freebirds permission to expose Kyle Kingman's words in regard to the deception of John Silvetti.

Think about it.  My youngest son's Dutch American FIL searched the Aruban and Dutch publication.  He found no Aruban or Dutch publication ... not ever Diario ... that reported on the pond search ... the pond search that took place at night under all those light.  He found no Aruban or Dutch publication ... not even Diario ... that reported that fifty investigators had arrived from Holland.  The only sources which I am aware of that the pond search took place and the fifty investigators arrived from Holland was CAPS and Kyle Kingman.  Hans Mo did not even mention a pond search in his last "press announcement".  He mentions all the other aspect of the investigation ... the Devries/Emm recording ... the pond witness ...the Greta interview with Joran ...

When you consider that fishermen were able to claim that they observed from their boats on the water that nobody matching Joran and Natalee's discription were on the beach on the morning of May 30, 2005.  The implication is if there had been somebody matching Joran and Natalee's descript were on the beach ... they would have saw them.  Also ... the fisherman claim that they saw a white vehicle parked at the beach.

Could it have been that the Mansurs jumped on the Aruban bandwagon to gain points with the "powers that be" in regard to the legal problems encompassing Luis Mansur.  Think about it.  The Aruban "powers that be" knew that Jossy Mansur and Eduardo Mansur were viewed in the media as supporters of the family of Natalee Holloway in their quest for justice.  In other words ... did Jossy Mansur allowed himself to be used by the "powers that be" to give the pond witness distraction credibility?

We lost electricity today from the high winds of the remnant of the storms in OKC yesterday.  Power lines down but otherwise everything

I'm still not connecting dots wrt the  persistence search for Natalee and the oil search. The search was advertised, and donations solicited and collected for Natalee. Now, many of you smart Monkeys are looking into connections and it seems that there are theories out there that show a more sinister side of the search...
Can anyone clue me in on the theories?

Thanks Johan, I was just reading this on Fox News frontpage.

Tamikosmom is going to have to re-cap -- but, this goes back to pre-Thanksgiving when Kermit revealed what Kyle Kingman proclaimed to the Freebird's forum. The Monkey's are now connecting the dots as to WHY the Persistence may have pulled off a ruse.

According to LEAK, Jug Twitty knew all along that the Persistene's project was related to oil.  That searching for Natalee was secondary to that.

Then Lisa did a drive by to say that whole discussion was a ruse to try and flush out a leak.

However - the date that discussion took place was prior to anyone even having cause to suspect a leak - so that excuse made by Lisa doesn't fly.  (Nor did it do much for Lala's character).

Then, while on Aruba at some point, Dave Holloway made arrangements for AHATA to meet with Silvetti for what he thought would be a "donation" to keep the search funded.

Long story short.................

If Jug Twitty really did know that the Persistence's main purpose was oil related - that had to be at the behest/contract of someone.

Who was that someone?

What further incentives were offered (by AHATA? by the someone?  by another party?) when that fish cage was found - causing John Silvetti to turn his back on the cage and its contents on December 30th?

Is there a contract out there somewhere with one of these many intertwined oil companies that have ties to Silvetti and/or Shaefer and/or Trahan that would reveal what that incentive was?

I believe that any contracts or incentives received by John Silvetti by Aruba following the Persistence undertaking needs to be investigation.

However ... I do not have a clue where to begin.

No, my son was not on the dive team, but he was on board the ship every day. What he told me is that the cage is of an industrial type and not similar to the one that went missing the same morning Natalee disappeared. The ship did map a vast area and was able to pinpoint close to 100 items of interest on the bottom of the ocean along the coast. Just when they were about to examine them, they ran out of money because it is an expensive venture.

So who at Diario was Desiny's source?  Who was aboard the Persistence who coincidentally (not) has a connection to that paper?

On the other hand................when Persistence put a small boat in that pond to do side sonar before they left Aruba, it was the Amigoe who turned up to snap some photos.

Surely if Eduardo was a leak for publication purposes - it would have been Diario there, rather than Amigoe?

Consider the nature of prior Amigoe articles - very highly 'pro government and establishment' - to the point of negativity at times against Natalee and her family.

Who, therefore, would have a purpose to serve by tipping off that particular paper?

Whose purpose would it serve to put attention on this pond, rather than the sea - which prior to this new "witness" never figured into anything we knew about Joran's activities in this crime?

StatoilHydro has signed an agreement with the Colombian oil company Ecopetrol America inc. under which the two companies will form a Joint Exploration Team for the US Gulf of Mexico and drill three or more wells in the coming years.

Under the agreement the companies will also further mature prospects to potential drilling. StatoilHydro will remain the operator for all prospects.

Ecopetrol will farm in with interests of around 20-30% in the wells covered by the agreement.

"This agreement is in line with our long-term Gulf of Mexico strategy. We are starting our drilling operations next year in some of the prospects we acquired from lease sales and acquisitions in the past years", explains senior vice president in StatoilHydro, Øivind Reinertsen, heading up the USA and Mexico region.

"We have a good portfolio of promising prospects and we are happy to have Ecopetrol America joining parts of our exploration program in the coming years," he adds.

Two drilling vessels will drill for StatoilHydro in the Gulf of Mexico next year.

Petrobras to Explore for Oil in the Colombian Coast in the Caribbean Sea

 

Petróleo Brasileiro S/A - Petrobras, announced that its affiliate, Petrobras Colombia together with Ecopetrol and ExxonMobil, have signed the first exploration and production contract with Colombia’s National Hydrocarbon Agency (ANH) to begin exploration activities offshore Colombia.

 

The contract covers the 45-thousand-Km2 Tayrona block, off Colombia’s northern coast in the Caribbean Sea in water depths up to 3,000 meters. Petrobras has a 40 percent interest in the block with ExxonMobil also having 40 percent and Ecopetrol 20 percent.

During the initial 18-month-phase of the exploratory program, the participating companies will continue data acquisition and analysis, which includes re-processing 2D seismic, acquiring 3D seismic data and incorporation of a new technology.

Petrobras will be the operator of the Exploration Phase. In case of discovery of liquids reserves, Petrobras will keep operatorship for the development phase, otherwise ExxonMobil will act as operator.

 

Petrobras has been in Colombia since 1985, and currently has participation in 15 exploration and production blocks, in its majority, as operator.

 

Petrobras International Director Mr. Nestor Cerveró stressed the importance of this event; ”The Tayrona block represents a very important step towards the consolidation of Petrobras as a major player in Latin America and an opportunity to use our exploration expertise in exploring deep waters outside Brazil, in compliance with the company’s Strategic Plan, following the successful ventures in West Africa and the US Gulf of Mexico.”

PART ONE

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PERCEPTION UNDERTAKING

The Persistence venture was two fold from the getgo.  This would not have been a problem except that Louis Schaefer and John Silvetti gave the deceptive impression that the undertaking was all about locating Natalee Holloway’s remains.  This afforded Schaefer and Silvetti the opportunity to take advantage of Tim Miller and his association with TES to raise funds.

The Persistence undertaking may have been deceptively two fold but, affording John Silvetti the benefit of the doubt, he went into this venture with the intention of being an active  participant in the recovery of Natalee Holloway's remains in the event of a discovery.  However, sometime between the discovery of the trap/cage and the December 30, 2008 dive, the Arubans became involved.  It was during this period that John Silvetti may have been offered an incentive to turn a blind eye in regard to the sampling of the contents and the recovery process.  In other words, there would be no chain of command as the Arubans would be in complete control and the crew of the Persistence would not participate..

Logic dictates that contracts or incentives received by John Silvetti by Aruba following the Persistence undertaking must be investigated by the FBI.  Justice for an American citizen demands it.

He is the oil guy. He was the one that provided the cash to get down there. Silvetti knew he would get more business from Schaeffer if he mapped .... while they were looking ... the ocean floor. All the crew was asked to do was look for Natalee or anything suspicious as in small things like a cage or bones or whatever. They do a large mapping process while they are looking for the details. Schaeffer would use the large mapping of the general layout of the ocean floor to further look for oil...etc...while they looked for Natalee too.

He had plans on doing business with Aruba and in S. America and he didn't want to hurt any feelings by talks hinting at lack of complete trust and friendship.

What was the actual purpose of Eduardo Mansur's continuing presence on board the Persistence?  Could the “powers that be” have taken advantage of the trusted relationship that existed between Jossy Mansur and the family of Natalee Holloway?   Could the “powers that be” had assumed the motives of Eduard Mansur would not be questioned  or undermine?

Sometime in early July 2005, Robin and I (Dave) saw Deputy Police Comissioner Gerold Dompig's son and another young man who appeared to have similar descriptive features of Steve Croes, the Tattoo party boat disc jockey who had been arrested and released, trying to pick up a girl in the Holiday Inn lobby hallway and get her to go to Carlos and Charlie's. The girl was offering resistance and trying to distance herself from these two. As the guys were walking by, young Dompig noticed me and immediately discontinued his activity. The other kid realized he was getting nowhere with the girl and started in on another set of women. I walked up to Dompig, and he seemed a little embarrassed that we had witnessed his actions. He then started talking about the case, and during this conversation he mentioned that he had heard that Paulus van der Sloot had borrowed a friend's boat on either the night of Natalee's disappearance or the next day and that he was allegedly involved with Natalee's murder. That brought to mind one of Joran's statements. He referred to a friend by the name of Koen Gottenbos. Apparently, this friend's father owned a boat. The important thing is to raise funds. It will require corporate support as well as private donations. Dave and Beth have been doing a great job getting the word out and while I was on the island, Dave put me in contact with the head of the Hotel Association who is working on raising a sizeable amount.  So many on the island are supporting our efforts as well as people from all over the world. The media really blew the cage out of proportion. Although the cage initially provided some moments of "what is in there", I warned all on board that none of this information was to leave the boat. It was very suspect that a cage of this size was found where it was on the seafloor relative to the coast. My feelings were this was highly unusual and probably had something to do with something, but not what we were after. It was decided that the cage would be investigated further by divers, however, it was designated as only a target of interest. The crew moved onto other targets. Unfortunately, inexperience and frustration led to premature statements, including that we had found herI don't think anyone was more upset than I that this information came off the boat and caused the Holloway family more grief!

However ... Kyle Kingman's words convince me the that somewhere between the discovery of the trap/cage and the December 30, 2008 dive ... the undertaing was no longer two fold.  The locating of Natalee Holloways remains took a backseat.

The FBI must question John Silvetti, Kyle Kingsman and Tim Trahan.  Justice for an 18 year old American citizen demands it.

Kyle:  I get done in the survey room backing up the ROV dive and head to the back deck to talk to the Polis divers and see what they sampled and see the Polis boat way in the distance heading away fast. John doesn't seem concerned at all, but I am very dissapointed, concerned, and burning inside because I have a feeling that I/we will never know what they took from the trap. That evening I talked to John asking when we plan on recovering the trap. Previously this was part of the talks and plan, but this time he doesn't seem concerned about ever looking into the trap further. After John verbally BASHED me about the trap for what I said to Tim Miller about the sand body-form and that I believed her skirt was under the sand, John pretty much committed himself to the belief the trap wasn't what we were after. This shocked me because it was exactly what we were looking for- a fish trap lost at sea with human remains.

KTF...if you need something to look into; I've spent some time looking at Cochrane Tech and something keeps bringing me back to them.  Some of the faces seem familiar in pictures I've found; curious if some weren't on board Persistence.

Tim Trahan was one of the divers on the December 30, 2008.  Logic dictates that this guy knows if there was more than plastic inside that trap/cage.

Also ... logic dictates that Louis Shaefer (ROV copyrights), Tim Trahan (diver) and Kyle Kingman (ROV analyst) were not attempting to make network deals with ROV images that revealed nothing but plastic.

Kyle:  I did not feel the same and we had a major difference in opinion. He [John Silvetti] was the one who never pressed ALE to be completely open with us with the trap evidence. I would have forced them to. However, John was the one paying my invoices so I was forced to sit back and hope for the best.

Kyle:  On the other hand, those differences has also caused a rift between Tim Trahan/Louis and myself with John (although John and I remain close friends and colleagues). The result is Tim, Louis and I are moving forward and John is left out of the loop.

ORANGE CITY - The boat Pair of Dice is Thursday in the port of Oranjestad, at Mar Azul, completely destroyed by fire. The fire caused considerable smoke in the port and it attracted many viewers. The vessel was 150,000 florin worth but because it was not insured, the owner to its flutes cents. They said that he had just returned to shore after a fishing with tourists when the fire broke out on his boat. The tourists were getting off the boat when the boat owner a hard bang heard. After a few minutes, the whole boat on fire. The fire was way to the port of Barcadera, when it became clear that the boat is not in the "big port" as was originally reported, but in the port of Oranjestad. Although the fire soon after the fire was under control, the boat no longer be saved.

When I consider Kyle Kingman's field of expertise and ... his detailed description of his analysis of the content ... I am "inclined" to believe him over John Silvetti.  Just call me "Greta".

Fabric - Tarp - Vertibre - Skull

Kyle:  I took the proportions of the body form from the head, to shoulder, to a 90 degree angle which I believed to be the hem line of Natalee's skirt. I then took those proportions and matched them to the photo of Natalee with what she was last seen wearing. The proportions matched within an inch from head, to shoulder, to skirt line. Based on this comparison and with what we believed we saw in the Dec 29th video, Tim Miller contacted the family and told them the 99.9% comment. I told Tim not to do anything until we have forensic results back after the site is processed. Jan 7th we sampled the contents and in my opinion we found the skirt under the sand along with the other items The blue fabric was found right where the skirt is pictured. If it isn't her, it will forever haunt me as a major cosmic WTF.

Kyle: We all know it wasn't a blouse, but I believe they were sent some piece of fabric other than the fabric found inside the trap.

Kyle: The portion of the discolored blue fabric was presumably on the bottom of the fabric. In my opinion this discoloration is not another type of fabric, but rather biological staining or discoloration from biological growth caused from a high organic carbon content and decay. Basically, during decay a biological mat will form around the organics from remains. This is what I believe it is on the bottom of the fabric.

Kyle: It was confirmed by the FBI that they received a fabric sample send by Richardson and that it wasn't a match to Natalee's blouse. I think the video can prove or disprove whatever the FBI was sent was the same object or not. I strongly believe it's blue denim.

Kyle: Notice the end of the skirt is an identical match to the 90 degree angle in the sand. I believe her left arm was outstretched with her legs slightly bent. I did not edit the legs. I believe the tarp was placed over her and tucked around her, or perhaps tied down. I believe there are several rocks laying on the sand which were placed on the tarp, or inside the tarp over her body which explains their unusual location. Either way, the proportions appear promising.

Kyle: In my opinion that last pic from Jan 7th should be absolutely intriguing and flip your mind from what you thought you knew. In case it isn't clear.. notice the blue denim-like fabric.

Kyle: Notice the blue fabric swayed in the current.

Kyle: The blue tarp piece was found approx 6-10 ft away from the trap opening.

Kyle:  The blue tarp and blue fabric was confirmed by Richardson and Mos. Remember, they each only confirmed one piece. One confirmed blue fabric, the other confirmed tarp. From the video you see both.

Kyle: The most likely to remain at or near it's original location was the skull, which is why I was so convinced the object pictured was a skull.

Kyle:   … John verbally BASHED me about the trap for what I said to Tim Miller about the sand body-form and that I believed her skirt was under the sand

Kyle:  I'm sorry if this is disturbing. I took the picture of Natalee standing on the beach and cropped, rotated, and scaled the image to correlate with the trap body form.  Notice the end of the skirt is an identical match to the 90 degree angle in the sand.

Kyle: The bag that is above the denim bag looks to me as though it contains pieces of  vertebrae.

Kyle: The fabric(s?) are not visible on either the Dec 29th or 30th dives. There is about an inch of sand over the fabrics. The fabrics are completely covered. The diver sampled the sand and found the fabric underneath the sand. He then bagged the blue fabric. If the other bag contains fabric, it was also in the sand. There was also something possibly recovered from far inside the trap. In the video the diver is inside the trap with just below his knees showing. I don't know what was sampled far inside the trap if anything.

Kyle:  The contents of the trap were being actively investigated. The forensic results of a fabric sample showed the fabric sample was not a match to Natalee's blouse and that no DNA match to Natalee was found within that fabric sample. Human remains were found, but the FBI was not and would not comment on the case. The FBI did not comment on the remains, but rather the fabric sample.

Kyle:  In my opinion, the blue fabric is quite possibly Natalee's skirt. The divers found the denim where I suggested a week earlier (Dec 29th) to Tim Miller that there was likely Natalee's denim skirt under the sand.  Also in my opinion, the deni-like fabric is a match in terms of color, quantity, and structure to Natalee's skirt. It's not a lot of denim folded in the bag, but then again her skirt was rather small.

Kyle: I think it is highly unlikely and completely inconsistent with numerous testimonies and other evidence that the pond (or anything but the ocean) contains Natalee's remains.

Kyle:  … Human remains were found, but the FBI was not and would not comment on the case. The FBI did not comment on the remains, but rather the fabric sample.

I agree.  However ... the family of Natalee Holloway deserves to know ... one way or another ... if Natalee's remains were in the trap/cage.  Tim Trahan  needs to reveal to the FBI what he observed in the trap/cage on both the December 29th and 30th dives.  Kyle Kingman  needs to reveal to the FBI all the happenings encompassing the recovery process as well as his perfessional analysis of the ROV images.

My honest mistake.  Louis is certainly on that list.  I trust him.  I know he went into the search effort with one purpose... finding Natalee.  Of course I'm sure he hoped for a better outcome and to feed on some of the good press if she were proved found.  If I lost as much of a personal fortune in one year as he, I would have lost my mind.

I think that is the most damning thing I have seen Kyle do -- adamantly telling us the guy in the red shirt was NOT Silvetti! That is what convinced me that Kyle is trying to con us. I still think he was trying to do the right thing early on -- but definitely not since this summer.

I believe after the Arubans observed the ROV images from the December 29, 2008 dive ... immediate damage control was where it was at.  Think about it ... the Dateline dive was scheduled for the next day.  I suspect that just prior to the second dive on December 30, 2009 ... an emergency meeting was scheduled by the Aruban with John Silvetti.  I speculate that at this meeting ... justice for Natalee Holloway and ... closer for her family too a back seat and ... for a price ... for an incentive ... John Silvetti became a participant in "the finale to the great Aruban coverup".  Considering Tim Trahan dove with the Aruban dive team on December 30, 2008 ... I contend that this American also became a player in the betrayal.

The researchers had discovered a fish trap about 90 feet below the surface in almost the exact spot search expert Tim Miller had theorized Natalee’s body might be.

Team leader Tim Trahan suited up to join the Aruban police divers. As Tim Miller wished him well, the divers hit the water and the ROV was sent down to capture what would happen for everyone watching on board.

Brandon: We have visual on divers and target.

Slowly the divers worked their way down to the trap.

They had been instructed to give a thumbs up or thumbs down.

The atmosphere in the survey room was tense, and nerves were raw as Miller, the Aruban authorities and the crew of the Persistence waited for word of what exactly was in the trap.
