Couldn't sleep again..I think it was Loca that said we should sue for having to put up with loss of sleep in such just because WE care so much for Caylee that even in my sleep I'm running a mile a minute.  This point I think staying up waiting for court is better off cause of the dreams I may have just might be of wringing Casey neck after all this speculation going on.  I have a Keurig for our Monkeys are guaranteed to get a fresh pot to keep both of your eyes open for court today! IF I do crash out at least I know that you all will have my back and post the daily happenings! "Justice For Caylee"(eat that Anthony's)

Perry said that if needed, they would continue to use the Pinellas County courtroom through Saturday for jury selection. But he was emphatic about having attorneys deliver their opening statements Monday in Orlando, if the jury is seated.

There are about 15 prospective jurors left to be questioned, and the defense team has one peremptory strike remaining.

The hearing is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m. Check back for updates.

I think they'll have enough for 12 jurors and 5 alternates. My math (which has been spotty in the past): 12-4PCs=8; 8-2alternate PCs=6.

11 jurors + 6PJs= 12 jurors and 5 alternates. Unless some are excused for cause.
If JP is willing to go with just 3 alternates, they can only afford to lose three for cause (people that are too biased to change).

This woman on the stand sounds like one that's going to be excused. JMO

Well, no offense to the male monkeys, but he is a dude. My husband has no interest int his case whatsoever.

Bozo is a whiner - I only get to ask about certain things.  Waa waa - what some cheese with that?

Mine either, but was telling him about possible rumors of a plea deal, and he said he would hate to see that happen, all the effort put forth, all the money spent, etc.  He wants to see a resolution to this by a guilty verdict.

Hmm. After claiming he doesn't know what blogging is, turns out he has Facebook and Twitter. He says he hasn't been on Facebook in a while, so how would he know if there haven't been any comments about his being a PJ for this case? The defense would have investigated him by now and may have Facebook or Twitter entries to have him excused for cause.

The whole courtroom has the cold now.  Finnell should not have come to court to contaminate everyone.  I personally think it is so rude to contaminate everyone you come in contact with when you have a cold.  You should stay home. As far as I could tell, her presence has not been valuable to the defense anyway.  But some people are just oblivious to others and the damage they can do to them and just go on like a bulldozer.   

Oh please Casey, make eye contact with Nancy Grace!!! Please! I want to see the hole burned through head. Even Mommy Dearest didn't get eye contact!

Agreed. Most of my friends who don't like NG only remember the times she has been wrong in accusing the "obvious" person of a crime, when the real culprit was someone else.  I just appreciate the awareness she brings to the cases, always taking her sensationalism with several grains of salt. ::rhino::

Exactly!  When NG is up in arms about something specific concerning a victim's rights, etc, she can be GREAT!  Those moments have come less and less often tho.  More and more often is her jolting rudeness etc with her guests and staff.  As well as all the things you pointed out.

I would think it would benefit them if someone on the jury understood that you can do computer forensics and find things, even things that have been deleted and the days they were added and the last day they were viewed.  The pre-mediation part begins with the chloroform searches, IMO..........

You basically have to have a hard drive, driven over by a steam roller to make it unusable.  I have even seen on one of the criminal shows where they won a guilty verdict after retrieving a computer from a fire.  Another show where they tried everything to make a CD work again after it had been cut up and finally a detective, used scotch tape and it worked, defendant found guilty.

There's been no explanation of yesterday's sudden dismissal. They've just reached 12 jurors.

It seemed to me Judge Perry mumbled something about questioning a few more. I think the judge did some reading yesterday and talked to poeple he trusts. The alternates arent supposed to know they are alternates....

I agree that didn't look like NG to me either but.....surely Diane Dimond has met her before and she is the one that tweeted it.  ?????

They finally get 12 and the judge doesn't swear them.  Why does he keep saying he is going to do things and then he doesn't?  I find that very confusing but I am also hoping for any reason to get Farmville lady off the jury.  I am trying to get past her and hope for the best but she is still constantly on my mind.  I am also worried about getting enough alternates for a 2 month trial.

I had heard that the other Jose, the one that left and went to another law firm, was preggers. But I was only listening to IS and not watching so I don't know who said it this morning....but she was pretty clear about him having a baby at home.

I don't remember when it got cut up but I do remember them sending it everywhere to get if fixed and them being told it was just not doable.  Then one of the original detectives, tried scotch tape, put it in and it worked.  Just amazing.  I have seen that show a lot, one time it was a tiny piece of orange carpet fiber that solved the case and another it was a tiny bit of green paint.  Very interesting, can't think of the name of the show though, can you?

I doubted one was even offered from the jump yesterday & considering  Casey's initial good mood this morning, I'd say it was never an issue or she wouldnt be smiling and giggling.   The problem now is if the 10 left will be enough to seat 12 and a few alternates.

I don't know if you were here when the judge told them out of the 15 they had to see today, 4 of them were excused for hardship, the first lady they heard was struck for cause because she thougth the hoebag was guilty and then this guy passed, so out of 15, there are 9 left.

Originally, Judge Perry wanted 8 alternates but I think he is going to settle for less now.  I worry about too few alternates, considering that everything that can go wrong in this case does.  It is also gonna be a 2 month trial, that is a long time for things to go wrong with sequestered jurors.

I believe the alternates are chosen just as the regular jurors are - and I think now they are working on the alternates - they however cannot know whether they are alternates or not.

Assuming there are other court cases going on, there may be jurors not called to that case that are being asked to wait and not go home as they may be called for another (this case).  I believe His Honor is working diligently to get this panel seated.  Once he states he will swear in the twelve, before they are sworn in, challenges can happen.  This is my understanding and once again I could be mistaken.

Yes JP said they did have other PJ that are waiting in the jury room for other cases. That they could potentially question if needed. I think he said he needed to know by 12.

i agree. the trial is going to start on monday and i think he is doing the right thing by allowing them to question all the jurors there. you have to protect the record for appeal issues and this is exactly what the judge is doing.  he was so happy when they got the 12th juror

Perhaps with all the nosense yesterday w/DT wanting to hear all the rest of the PJ's before choosing the final jury, it was agreed that they would go thru the rest of them before seating a jury, thats all Bozo was whinning about yesterday....JP isn't near as hyped up, if he got a slap down yesterday because the DT was right or he and the state settled for this change to keep the ball rolling without anymore conflict.

I think something is still going on and I think it has to do with a plea deal.  The judge must continue in the event it doesn't work out.  That is my opinion.  It is not engraved in stone.

I took off work this whole week to watch the start of this trial...now it is a wasted week..and I have to work 5/7 nights next week...and sleep after I get off so I can work again that night..does JP not KNOW he is disrupting my whole LIFE????   LOL!!   And..he keeps changing the rules so I am getting so confused!! ::MonkeyWaa::

Originally he wanted 8 alternates. I think JP will keep on trucking to get as close to that #8 as possible to avoid problems during trial. JMO

I am still irked and somewhat upset over the judge allowing Ms. Farmville to be seated as a juror.   She obviously is going to hang the jury.  What I didn't understand was his remark which was something about "Race neutral."  I heard the state say nothing which could be construed in any way to have to do with the woman's race.  I think that her inability to sit on a jury as a competent jurist was so obvious to the State that they didn't ask many questions, expecting the judge to excuse her for cause as he should have done.  I thought we were long past seating juries and/or choosing judges according to race and am very disappointed that we apparently are not.

I hope they do that. I saw a few trials where they had a empty chair with a photo sitting on it to represent the murder victim. I really hope they do something like that to make her presence known and remind them that this is not about ICA.

I am okay with pj's that would find it hard to do DP, but have no problem with LWOP.  That means they can get the 1st phase..guilt phase done with no problem.

I want her found guilty by people who can listen to understand the evidence.  Once she is found guilty DP or LWOP  is good with me.  Infact LWOP might better suit in this instance because she would not have many options for appeal..and with DP the appeals will start almost immediately.  She has already wasted enough court time and Florida $$$...let her ro in prison..in general pop..maybe someone will help the State out.

Farmville lady will have issues of her own..this is going to be very hard for her to sit through and listen to the evidence.  I see her being excused at some point due to that issue...atleast I hope..because Casey does need to be judged..that's what the trial is for goodness sake.

We are so on the same page Babybear, they had to explain even the simplest questions to her.  The state didn't question her long, because she asked for a hardship for religious purposes.  The fact that the color of her skin became an issue is just plain wrong to me.  She was very, very sure she could not judge people and she said it was a hardship for her.  The state then tried to strike her twice and the judge wasn't having it.  Other than Judge Perry not doing what he said he is gonna do, this is the first real time, I think he may have made a big mistake.  If we get a hung jury, I think we are all going to know who did it.  I hope and pray I am wrong.  Maybe, while Jesus is holding Caylee on his lap he will whisper to Farmville lady, "Justice for Baby Caylee".

I agree Baby ! I do not think she was even rehabilitated by JP during his questioning. She mumbled that she could consider "death or life WITH parole" which was not the question. She appeared fearful and intimidated by JP. Not a good juror, imo. I posted then that she gives me chills and that feeling has only increased.

If they give her cold meds, I want them charged to her account along with whatever anxiety meds she is given.  I am sure that there are a lot of people with colds and anxiety that can't afford a doctor much less a prescription.  She can skip a few snacks, just ask her, "skittles or meds?".

I think the defense will strike her. A woman who had to adopt may not be able to forgive someone throwing away a perfectly good baby.

I know I have posted several times that I am befuddled by KC's lack of soul...she just looks soul less.  But here I AGAIN thinking "how is she just sitting there?".

It must sink in at some point during all these questions that her defense is trying to insure there are people who will consider life without parole.  That line of questioning keeps going and going....I would be dying at that prospect let alone the death penalty.

KC just sits there...I cannot imagine  that at this point, she honestly thinks she will be found not guilty.  Baez may have convinced her but after hearing all of these people say they think she is guilty, reality must be sinking in.  She is like a zombie.

7 of the original PJs. Of the 30  newcomers, after the quick hardship excusings, JP seems to think there will be just a handful (if he's lucky) left over to add to that 7 for alternate picks.

Calling in 30 more jurors from other trials.  Casey will be getting ready for her close-up during lunch.  Can't wait for the charges to be read aloud one more time.  I just knew the defense would have to see them all, the only hope they have right now is Farmville lady and I am hoping for a miracle there.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- It is day 10 on Thursday of Casey Anthony's murder trial and there are 14 potential jurors, seven women and seven men, but the questioning will continue.

Judge Belvin Perry wants to swear in a jury of 12 on Friday at 3:00pm, but both sides still have four challenges between them. Therefore, challenges could still delay the whole process.

Perry wants the case back in Orlando for opening statements by Monday morning. He is going to keep going on Friday to try to get through all of the potential jurors who had not yet been questioned individually about the case and about themselves.

CLEARWATER — So far, there are 14 viable jurors who could land on the panel that decides Casey Anthony's fate.

But attorneys on both sides are running out of jurors to question, so just before the noontime break, Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry announced he will bring in 30 new prospective jurors at 1:30 p.m.

For those jurors, the process will start from scratch. And because they have never been questioned in any way in regards to this case — or admonished by the judge not to follow it in the media — it may be difficult to find suitable jurors among them.

Perry said he will ask those jurors as a group whether it would be a hardship for them to serve. And he expects many hands to go up.

"It's like a self-contained virus in an airplane," Perry said. "Everyone gets it."
