Tossed and turned for the whole 4 hrs I "slept". Todays testimony with George was so tense. What the heck will happen when Cindy gets up there? Maybe that will be an ambien night, eh? I wonder who is on the stand today. It seems like it will be Cindys turn to talk about the smell and the 911 call. Her testimony will tell us exactly if they are really cooperating or not. It is day 5 of testimony today in the Case Against Casey.
   
Lawyers, the judge, and jury are all working a half day today and hearing more testimony in the case after more fireworks in court Friday.

Prosecutors wanted to introduce a sexually charged computer chat between Casey and her boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro.

The state says the messages showed Casey considered her daughter Caylee to be a burden, but the judge denied that request.

I don't think so, I do.  I don't think I have ever dreamed of anything more than this case.  Of course, I have been here from the beginning, and I always pray about this case as I fall asleep, that must have something to do with it.   I never have any outcomes tho.

Can you guys catch me up, I'm so sorry but I'm lost about this.

I am watching the Mallory testimony and it is so sad to hear her talk about how much CAYLEE loved Casey.  I wish Baez would realize that just because people don't beat their kids in public and feed them doesn't mean abuse, neglect and murder does not happen (obviously).  I so hope Caylee wasn't conscious when Casey did whatever she did to her. 

No Court on Monday.  LDB felt it would be hard to notify witnesses as they probably had holiday plans.  She said she plans on calling a lot of LE next week.

They are discussing the autopsy report and clarifying the wording.

I just wish George would be less combative on the stand.  He appears as the George we have always seen.   Although Baaz is infuriating, George is doing himself no favors with the jury, imo. 
Witnesses need to answer the questions, not engage in conversation about how the q. was asked etc.  and allow Baaz' ugly and ineptness as the focal point.

Thought it was interesting yesterday when George was shown picture of the vehicle - and asked if that was pretty much what he saw when he found the car.  Wonder when it will come out that Cindy tampered with items in the car, washed some of the clothing etc.

The question remains, why did they not call the police right away when they both recognized the smell of human decomposition?
 

Plus, Mason said he is a Veteran and always celebrates the holiday.

IslandMonkey, I'm so sorry for your loss. May GOD continue to ease your pain.

I want to thank you for the information in your post, about no fluids leaking.   Very important, imo.   Now, had Caylee drowned, once lifted from the pool, I can see water coming out from her lungs, a reason to apply the tape.  But, had this been an accident, still no reason to cover it up......unless there were signs of abuse that could be detected.   Casey held out to make sure Caylee decomposed to the point she did, for very obvious reasons.


Also, just because Casey did not leave Orlando, does not mean she didn't flee.  She spent those 31 days doing just that, imo.  She took great lengths to flee from her family, the ones that constantly asked......"Where's Caylee?"   She would have been gone very shortly, had she not been found by Cindy.

From what we have witnessed in court, Baez never heeds advice from anyone.  He's a know-it-all, and there is no embarrassing this guy.  Hit him in his pocket tho, that's a different story.  Like Casey, Baez is his own worst enemy.

Can, I agree. They should have called the police, but I guess that his brain just shut off. That had to be too much to fathom. I am sure that he "knew it" but just was unable to react as a cop. My feelings about George are changable.

Does anyone remember when casey said this? Not the exact words, but something like this; they didn't find the (Caylee's) clothes yet.

Hi Everyone:  I haven't posted in a few years since shortly after this began in 2008 and 2009, but I am back and catching up and watching every second of the trial.  Everyone here is so amazing with their thoughts and theories.....really great minds !!!

Usually murderers try to make it look like an accident.  This is the first time I have ever heard it was an accident and she tried to make it look like a murder.  Totally ridiculous defense IMO.

I really cannot blame him one bit.  I don't love George, but Bozo is accusing him of putting his penis in his daughter's mouth and dumping his grandbaby in a swamp.  I would be alot less civil than George.  I wish the judge would stop this and make Bozo use just his depos, no testimony on stand.  The jury has seen enough of this crap. 

Even if he tries to be nice, I would think he envisions these accusations all lover again.  I don't blame him.

I'm behind in reading so I don't know if someone has already answered this.  Nanaw is used by some members of my family when they are referring to their Grandma. Could that be what she meant?

Tony Lazarro up first this morning to finish from yesterday

I know George was an ex-cop, but when it is someone you are close to - and in this case, how can you be much closer?... your brain really does shut off when something bad happens. You can almost feel it doing so. This is all my opinion. On May 1 (yes, this month) I found one of my closest friends passed away in the bed that we had shared all night - after waking up and letting her "sleep in" I went to go and wake her up - she was face down, I jumped onto the bed to be playful and as soon as I touched her to shake her and wake her up, I "knew." However, my brain shut off to protect myself from that level of stress & trauma, I calmly walked out of the room and into the next room to tell my EMT friend that I needed help waking her up. Even though I knew there would be no waking her up. It wasn't until we got the confirmation from the hospital that it even sank in a little bit, and now almost a month later I still haven't fully processed what happened and am sometimes still in denial - even though I was there for it all.

I'm just trying to say... traumatic experiences do strange things to the brain... in order to protect yourself... obviously the family already had a bizarre dynamic, I'm sure that lended itself to their ability to continue to be in denial and fit things into their skewed, distorted perspective... and almost refuse to see anything else. For that long...? Skeptical. I think they might be seeing the light now - and if they aren't, well... I'll bite my tongue!

When are they going to let poor Tony go home.  Where is he staying?  Hotel?

I wonder how close of a view of Casey the jury gets. I hope they were able to see her during Mallory's testimony yesterday, wiping away nonexistent tears. It was more feigned than any other time I've seen her do it. Her eyes were not even watery, because she didn't even bother poking them. She kept trying to give that fake wry little smile on cue when Mal was talking about Caylee and her, but it was so unnatural that it turned into a series of facial twitches instead. I hope the jury was close enough to see what the cameras caught. The only people on the planet that didn't catch the fakeness were the folks at HLN. "Surprise, surprise".

I don't understand why Tony isn't allowed to say what anyone else said?  Is that hearsay?  It makes testifying about Casey's portion of the conversations awkward.

Can't Mr. George say has ICA ever confided in you about her life? I really want this secret to come out. I think the state is doing good. But they have probably had these questions for months and how they were going to lay this out to the jury. With this new info they really need to change their questioning. They are so methodical but are missing some key points and questions IMO.

I think Caylee's bed was the trigger for Cindy. She's probably crying more for the stress of having to testify against her own daughter and still protect her daughter while doing right by Caylee whom she loved greatly, while trying to protect George. If I was her I don't know if I'd be ever able to stop crying.

The A's biggest problem is that they elaborate too much.  They need to just answer yes or no, or respond only to the question asked.  This is one reason I think they'll raise some suspicions about them.  But Cindy, for someone who'd never seen her in action, is very sympathetic on the stand today.

I think Cindy and George are telling the truth now and not trying to protect Casey any longer.  I don't think they want to hurt her but I think the are out of protection mode now and letting the chips fall where they may.

I think that the Anthony's have left everything, probably even Caylee's room the way it was when she died.  I think though, if there was any thought that Caylee drowned under any circumstances, they would have taken that pool out, because it would be too awful to leave there   JMO

But how far up was the bottom of the ladder from the ground?  Could Caylee climb up to the bottom of the ladder?  2 and 1/2 year olds have short little legs...Aww, just thinking about Caylee makes me tear up, poor little thing.

He was very angry at Casey for lying to him and acting like Caylee was ok.  I think he felt stupid for being with someone who would give such a blatant disregard for the location of her daughter and when he asked KC why she didn't tell him, he kept getting the same "I don't know" answer from her which frustrated him greatly

They introduced a text conversations between the two, after it came to light that Caylee was missing.  I had never heard it before.  Tony asked Casey why she didn't tell him of all people that Caylee was missing. He cared about them.  Casey said she was the worst mother, her parents wouldn't forgive her and that if they didn't find Caylee (who she wasn't sure she'd ever see again) she would spend eternity in jail. 

Id have a hard time leaving the pool up, certainly never be able to swim in it again if it was an accident or drowning by murder...Im sure there are people that feel the same & some that could overcome it

If Caylee died in the pool, it's because Casey unlocked the sliding glass doors and put the pool ladder up...on purpose. I will never believe Caylee's death was an accident.

Dunno how she will do that tho, because of the ladder.  And then there was something next to the pool, between the pool and house, like a ledge of some kind.  Greta showed it during an interview.  The ledge could have been climbed on, if I recall. 

A two year old can definitely climb a ladder.  Even a tall ladder.  My two yr old son once went lickety split up a ladder to the roof.  I nearly had heart failure!  So Caylee could have climbed the pool ladder easily at her age.  As to pushing it over there herself?  Maybe not.

I was watching some testimony yesterday, my son, his gf and my hubs were in here and someone was asked by Bozo the standard, was Caylee ever unfed, neglected, etc....
My son spoke up and said, "well, weren't George and Cindy the ones taking care of her and buying all her food and stuff"?

I just think the picture will be painted that Casey didn't mother Caylee.  You can say you love someone but that is a far cry from being a good mother.  I think Casey did neglect Caylee's physical needs.  Caylee was taken care of and provided for by George and Cindy.  Casey was no more of a mother than a bad babysitter.  Casey, at best, babysat Caylee and when that became to much work for her, well we all know.

When all these people testify to all the clothes, food, etc that Caylee had, it goes more to show what kinds of grandparents Caylee had than mother.

Casey had been trying to catch Cindy's eye. I think she wanted Cindy to look at her and feel sorry for her, making this about Casey, and she was hoping to get Cindy to continue her long habit of protecting Casey against everyone including George. I think Casey hated George because he could see through her lies, being somewhat similar himself. Without George around, Cindy would be nothing but Casey's puppet, Casey believes. I think Cindy avoided looking at Casey for this very reason. She recognizes her own weakness for once.

Casey was dead cold through the entire time Cindy was on the stand..the jury is going to see a greiving Grandmom and then contrast that with a mother who can not muster one tear.

Everyone is telling the truth and Casey can't....that's her problem, at the moment,becuse we all know she only takes life minute by minute.

Did the A's leave the courtroom during recess? If they were still in there to witness Casey's tantrum, I recall that they seemed to have a habit of caving when Casey would get upset, like trying to pacify her. What Casey doesn't realize is the tool she had to use against them in the past was the threat of taking Caylee away, or later the possibility of her finally telling where to find Caylee. She no longer has that tool, Caylee, but Miss Narcissist doesn't get the difference.

Just struck me....this Irish family has Chinese/Japanese furnishings/decor. 

Court took a brief break, and the jury went out.  Cindy stepped down and didn't look at Casey.  As soon as the jury was gone, Casey had a temper tantrum. 

No doubt at all...if I were Cindy I'd point blank state she put up with all too much, enabled her, protected her even when she shouldnt BUT when you killed my granddaughter & then tried to pin this on your father, you are dead to me.  Not to mention people would have a hard time keeping me from ringing her neck personally.

Cindy sez KC bought door knob covers to protect Caylee. I call "BS!" unless Casey was using her "hooker money"--from my theory that she was an escort, or unless Cindy sent her to the store with her own cash!

I so hope she tells the truth.  I like hearing Cindy testify to the details of caring for Caylee because Casey, if she testifies, won't be able to.  Sure she'll be able to lie but I think the jury will see through Casey trying to testify to the little details about caring for and daily things that go into taking care of a little one.  I don't think Casey knows much about it, so she won't be able to convincing lie about it.

Cindy saw emails to Casey about work related things.  Cindy watched Caylee.  If Cindy was unavailable, George would watch Caylee often.  George kept Caylee if Cindy and Casey had a "girl day".  If both were working, Casey made arrangements for someone else to watch Caylee.

IMO, she is just agonizing and also is most likely in shame of herself for her previous ignorance of the truth (refusing to accept the truth). No way is she reading from notes.

Maybe KC did have a job at Universal...breaking into cars and pawning whatever she pilfered from visitors and employees. If she was wearing a lamyard in and around the parking areas no one would probably think much of it....I doubt she stole ONLY from family and friends.

Zanny was friend of Casey's according to Cindy.  Zanny was one of the primary people Casey would leave Caylee with - was Cindy's impression.  Cindy did not have a complete name.  Casey had been talking about Zanny since the Spring of 2006, Cindy believes.  Casey was engaged to Mr. Grund and Casey mentioned an IT person at work who had a girlfriend named Zanny who could fill in as a sitter if Casey needed.

Cindy believed Casey had a babysitter.   On the 15th she believed it was Zanny the nanny, a friend of Casey's....Cindy's "impression"

Cindy did not have a full name.   How long had Casey been talking about a nanny?  Cindy replies, 2006 while she was engaged to Jesse Grund.   She told Cindy about the Jeff Hopkins lie.

Cindy never met Zanny, never saw a picture, couldn't describe Zanny.  Cindy said Zanny lived at different places.  First heard of her, she was supposed to be living at one of the student living quarters close to UCF, same complex as Jeffrey lived.  Casey told Cindy Zanny moved around, but Cindy never picked up Caylee from Zanny's.

Cindy lied about the evening of June 15. We know that Shirley Plesea told Cindy about the money from the bank account at the lunch at Shirley's home.  We know about the fight Cindy had with Casey on that night, the one where Lee said Cindy tried to throttle Casey.  Cindy is still lying---Same ol' same ol'.

Casey would be dressed up sometimes when coming to Cindy's office.  Casey always had extra clothes with her.  Most of the time she was dressed as if she were ready to go to work.
