I find this so distressing!My husband and I were on a snorkel tour with this young lady and her friends and we have pictures of them. I just don't understand why it was our destiny to have met her only briefly, and to laugh and enjoy the sun and ocean and the beautiful day...then to have this happen.Why did god put her into our lives only for a fleeting moment?Why were the stars of destiny lined up that way that particular day? I am praying for her safe return and for the entire family. I have had Fox news on for a week straight with all the updates. I wish I could be there to help and God Bless all the fine Aruban people who are helping.This will not keep us fromvisiting your Island...And please remember....Evil moves fast but good moves faster.

I was contacted tonight by MSNBC to share my experience with the world about the day I spent with those teenagers on the boat trip.I do not feel right about talking about it with the world until after I have spoke directly with her family.I spoke with another lady from a tv station in Birmingham, Alabama too.I just can't in good, moral standing comment on what I saw that day, or comment on the way those kids acted. We are all not naive , we were all kids once.When Natalee's family returns home with her, I will send them the photos I have and they can do with them as they see fit. I just don't feel that I should capitalize on this tragedy.I kinda got the feeling that there would've been a spin put on it like it was "Girls Gone Wild".Am I wrong?

My husband and I were in Aruba last week and spent time with the girls on The DePalm tours snorkel/booze cruise. We saw Natalie later that night at Carlos and Charlies and we commented that she was up to partyubg that night because of the exhaustive day we had on the boat. When we saw her leave she left by herself. No one was with her but we did notice some local guys talking to her while she was in there. I do not know if this will help but my heart goes out to the family and I can not believe this has happened.I live 4000 miles away outside of Detroit, Michigan and I feel like it happened to somone I know having spent tome with them on the boat. I even have pictures of them.I will pray for her and her family. Sincerly John and Michele Gumm

Arubagirl always seemed honest when posting here.  I saw her recently stand up to that mob at RU and say that Red did in fact go to the dump and search at least twice because she knew this for a fact since she drove him there.  So she does not lie despite the company she keeps over there.

And she certainly was not banned, just hard to post here when most support the boycott and she didn't.  Our enthusiasm offended her I am sure.

She always insisted vd Straaten was a good guy.  She got really, really angry at me a couple of times for posting about him, too.  And also for asking about Gilliam vd Straaten.  

So what if she is correct and he is on the right side in all of this and not Dirty Hand as some of us tend to think?

Does that change anything?  He and Paulus were chatting a lot that first week but could he not have known?  What if Dompig is the real obstructionist instead of vd Straaten?

Hello Monkeys! Was reading around at some of the garbage sites. Some seem to think that things are heating up with the anti-Joran posters (us included ) because his book is coming out and the suspects will soon be released from their status.....I would love to address these issues for them. 1. As far as his book coming out, that doesn't bother me in the least bit. It will obviously be full of Bullshit so why should I care about that. Heck, he's been spinning his web of deceit for two years now. I highly doubt than anyone with half a brain will change their mind to him being somehow innocent because he publishes his trash. Pleasssse! 2. As far as the suspects being "released" from their status, do they really think we are not preppared emotionally for that possibility?! The way this entire investigation has been a farce. It is actually expected that they will be released. Anything else would contradict whatever else has happened so far. See, they think that once his book comes out...and the suspects are "released" from status, We will all just disappear or go away and forget about Natalee..and Justice in this case.  WILL NOT HAPPEN...BOYCOTT ARUBA... will continue for anyone who cares about their children. And the people who have been around to support this are not giving up. Much to the chagrin of some spiteful people!...JUSTICE FOR NATALEE OR BUST !!

I'm a tad confused on the pictures re: supposedly Natalee dancing on the bar at CandC

The first picture I remember of it was that "they" ref; to the man looking up as the Dutch Marine and I never saw Natalee in the picture at all. I do remember seeing what was by his right elbow... I thought he was holding a non=lit cig.

I thought something was wrong with my jpeg as I didn't ever see Natalee until these picts now being posted.

Was on RWV and the a travel site before coming here.

If she were dancing on the bar wouldn't where the picture now puts her, wouldn't the girl be looking straight on to her and not sidewise?

A digital camera not on manual settings or a throw away camera... wouldn't the white of his shirt make the background blurry? but it picks up on the girls outfit to the right so clearly so I would think Natalee's top and skirt would be clearer if the picture was real.

I leave all this stuff up to Klaas and CBB and those who know picts and photoshop... Just wondering.

Although it is a plausible theory in some events, the bartender would have had to be standing back a lot further to appear that small bending down. I think the picture was photoshopped in several areas, IMHO

We are not sure any more.  That top is made wrong.  Hers had tiny straps like strings and this one appears to taper to a wide strap.

I don't think it is her.  And I am not going to say a word about any discoloration I do not see on the arm just below the bend of the elbow that does not look like a bruise, either.

There is a space between the first shelf under the sign and the other two only in that photo as well.

I have no doubt it has been shopped but why and by whom remains a big mystery and I doubt Dan R would help us out there as he is never wrong about anything ever.   :roll:

I think the girl in the immediate foreground IS Lee Broughton, the outfit is the exact same and it is even more intricate than Natalee's.

HOWEVER... the hair is all wrong. In the pic with "Natalee" the hair is piled up at the top of the head entirely differently than in other pictures of Lee. In fact, it looks like a beehive cut on top. That is a Photoshop effect for sure, someone increased the fullness of her hair on top to cover the rough edges of the "Natalee" image spliced in just above it.

Otherwise, "Natalee's" arm wouldn't have been long enough to disappear behind the hair.  :wink:

Back then, though, before we knew how utterly EVIL some entities were, why would we have even looked much closer at it? As I recall, the issue at the time was whether Nat was dancing on the bar vs. the stage.  :roll:  As if the former would have absolved the ugly, freakish sporter of any wrongdoing. Right Klaas, they built up the hair higher on her head, and so the arm looks like it is obscured behind the hair.

That hair does NOT look like any other pictures of Lee Broughton. She doesn't have a beehive or pancake bun on top.

I believe there is another image of the original buried in those RWV archives with a little wider perspective of the same photo but can't guarantee it or even that it has not been removed.  Was there at one time IIRC.  Nothing new but can see more of Lee's outfit.

This was cropped like that to cut out the tourists who supposedly sent the photos to Dan.  

Now I was wondering if you could lighten the whole original from top to bottom evenly.  I just wanted to see the other image that also looks like Joran.

I also remember trying to lighten the image of the girl in the doorway but it just turned into a blob for me.  

So who would have been shopping photos that quickly?  Had to be someone in the little inner circle.  I guess the idea was to make Natalee look as rowdy as possible.  That means it is a person who thinks a girl's behavior dictates what happens to her or that girls ask for it, etc.  

So there are clues as to who would do this.  

Personally I think girls should be allowed to express sexuality as much as boys but because any girl is dancing on a bar does not mean anything should happen to her nor give anybody the right to so much as touch her.

So perhaps they made a major miscalculation as I am a very staid, conservative middle-aged woman and still think this way.  Even if Girls Are Gone Wild, they still do not deserve anything bad to happen to them.  

And be that as it may, I have always just doubted Natalee Holloway was behaving in anything other than her usual rather well behaved manner.  Note the girls in the casino.  They are models of decorum and so well behaved.

Before Aruba got the spin going, one of the chaperons commented on the compliments he received from the hotel and other guests on how well behaved the kids were.  All that suddenly changed and I think we were supposed to turn on Natalee and even Beth because of it.  They changed their story on how the kids behaved.  

But I have just never believed it for a minute.  Show me one photo or video of any of those kids acting wild, not that dancing on the bar is and that is a stage just for that.

What I am trying to say is that immediately a propaganda war was started to silence the parents and slander the kids.  Their behavior was exaggerated in the hope of embarrassing the parents into silence.

Same for tales of Natalee not sleeping in her room when she did so, being seen dining with various males when she did not, just generally made up stuff.

And this makes no sense but will work and lurk.  I must work to get ready for Easter tomorrow and it is very cold here.

The small photo you posted and the large one I just posted has been over highlighted and contract.  The guys shirt looks white when it's actually plaid.  I would not go by the color of Lee's hair in that photo.

If you have an image-editing program like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, increase the gamma level to about 1.35. You will see that the entire area below the arm, in the region of the hair profile and the background with what appears to be bottles, ALL of that, has a messy pixellation pattern and shows much evidence of having been altered. The original is dark and you can't see the effect.

Anna and Yapperz - I do see what you are seeing with the blonde hair and it's entirely possible that Lee has also been photoshopped into that picture.  There are definately areas around Lee's head that look like it.

Lee's skirt... I tend to differ... her elbow comes to almost 1/2 down in the photo at the beach and there's enough fabric under the elbow to have the same top and the same skirt... the skirt would be much lower under the table.

I am about to go out to eat with family but I want to say that Lee is right on top of that camera and so she looks proportionately larger. She is a statuesque girl and she should be expected to have longer arms.

The whole area at the top of her head looks like it has been filled out with some kind of reddish-brown, unnatural coloring. It has changed the profile of her head and hair markedly.

I watched about an hour of a 2-hour special tonight on Spring Break Nightmares on E!  Even the stories about the wild and crazy times the MB kids supposedly had are like Sunday morning in church compared to what was on this special report.   :roll:

I was just catching up on a couple of pages and have to say that I was thinking the same as IBE(socks :lol: ), and was earlier thinking the same...the table was blocking the skirt...BUT, when you mention the length of the arm...then, I had to rethink.  Lee's arm does look out of proportion, now that I look at the picture.  Good grief.  Someone had posted that the shirt was different, but maybe photoshopping made it appear so...

I'm 5'9"...maybe shrinking at this point, but I don't think body size has much to do with it....my elbow meets my waist, as you've posted.  That's what made me look at the picture more closely.

Well, if she was sort of leaning to the right with the right shoulder down toward the table, would this make the length of the shoulder to elbow look longer?

I still think it's funny that I thought the left hand of the man in the plaid shirt was holding an unlit cig when I first saw it and now it turns out to maybe be a picture of Joran with a bottle. Well, to my eyes all the elbows come to what we used to call the waist... the real waist line

OK my own arms are longer in proportion to my height but this comes at the elbow to wrist area being about an inch longer so all the sweaters I used to buy would be a tad short at the wrist. Hope I make some sense.

What I'm curious about is did any of those connect with what her friends told you, who were also there in the bar with her that night?

I see what everyone else is seeing...now, look at the beer bottle in the front....it's oversized, as well.  Arm still looks overly long, but sb & bb may be right.

My shoulder to elbow is about 12 inches....if this is Lee's arm it looks twice as long in this photo...I think it's time for me to go to say goodnight... :?

Maybe the arm isn't Lee's arm but another person standing in the same vicinity as Lee.  Doesn't look like the arm goes with Lee at all.  The angle is not right.

We aren't positive it's Lee but it appears to about Lee's height and same top she was wearing.  Could also be photoshopped in.

That split in her hair wasn't there. The top 1/2 has been added to so it's wider to compensate for the elongation. It's so obviouis!

1.  Definately Natalee and her arm
2.  Joran's face is up in the air.  Sleuth thinks it could be the bartender stooping down to get a bottle from under the counter.
3.  Lee's hair, if that is Lee could be up in a pony tail but that wouldn't account for the photoshopped part above her head and below Natalee's arm.
4.  There are other issues with the background.  Personally I think the bottles right under the sign are messed with.  
5.  Lee's arm looks too long - CBB and are looking into it but possible it could be camera angle.

I too wanted to give an opinion on Lee's arm, plus the blonde hair.  I saw on that real skinny picture a small slice of blonde hair and in the other picture, that same small slice of blonde hair is added to the back of Lee's hair, like they forgot to erase it. Her arm is way too long for her body.IMO
An off topic remark had to share.  Last night while sitting at table w/lap top reading my Monkeys.  We had overnight guests because of ice storm.    They have a two year old boy, he crawled up in to my lap and sat quietly, layed his head against me and said "WOOK, pointing at my screen. I looked, as he waved at the screen to Patti's little avitar.  I said, " that's Patti" for about the next 30 minutes I tryed to scroll Patti out of sight. It was cute for about the first 15 times, Hi Patti, Hi Patti, Hi Patti.

I agree... it looks as if the upper shoulder of "Lee" has another shoulder attached to blond hair making it distorted, like a shoulder and a 1/4 more.

I just doubt she was that interested in just Joran.  I never heard any of them confirm all Joran's claims.  She wasn't even expecting him to appear there.  Sure, some of what he says is likely true but with the way he exaggerates and lies about everything else, it would just be odd if that is the one and only part of anything he is telling the truth about.

I agree with what Dave says that some of it likely is true but doubt all is because if so, that is the sole time Joran told the truth about anything.

I found that picture on one of the NH sites.  Someone cropped one of the beach photos and inserted it into the bar photo just to show that it appeared to be Natalee's top in the bar photo.  I don't know who did that.  That's why you see the red, it's actually part of Lee's outfit, I believe from the beach photo.

If you keep looking back through the pages, the original is there.  It's just like that cropped skinny one only darker.  When it is lightened up, then you see Natalee.  But originally if you will recall, Dan did not see Natalee either until we pointed her out to him.

Guess we were supposed to fall for that and do just that.   :roll:   But in all of them, she is there, just too dark to see in the original one.  Back several pages.

I didn't touch the strap or dark area on her back. I just cut out the area that looked smudged and "color matched" then joined them. I did cit out the same size area on her arm, and join them: it's perceptable where I joined them if you look closely. I wanted you to be able to see it. The line would virtually disappear with one swipe of the blur tool.

You did the amazing job, Klaas. I hadn't even noticed her! That photo has more holes in it than a fine swiss cheese!  :evil:

I'm not sure it's her head. It means that somebody desperately wanted to show Natalee in a bad light from the beginning. The added Lee to validate the night of her disappearance, in the same outfit they were both wearing. It means that Joran or his supporters wanted to hide her reletively sober condition and show her drunk way before they got there.

IMO, it means that Joran drugged her and that she QUICKLY was under his lead. He did that with purpose and created something ( this photo) to indicate she had been drunk all night. That makes it a far less implicating situation for himself.

This is just wild!  Perhaps the person who did this even thought it would make the photos very valuable and they could sell for lots of money but had to realize they would get caught at that.

I do still read how being from Alabammy, this and that and wonder if they really thought that the entire home population would turn on Natalee and abandon Beth if Natalee was drinking and dancing.

Anna, I remember the picture on the RVW or whatever site.. the one where I could never see Natalee.. so what is in meant in all this someone photoshopped the picture very early on? and inserted what might be Joran?

Oh..........it's photoshopped, for sure. IMO, they had to cut the photo they were pasting TO (The one we've accepted as real for 2 years) and increase the height. They did that to put the fake Natalee on the bar, but didn't want to show her face. They filled in the space by matching colors and blurring paint or by creating a relection of what was just above the cut.
I believe they inserted elongated Lee to establish the night and to further obscure the cut they did. They made her "bigger" just as they made Natalee bigger.

HAMMER - YES - it is a fake.  It was posted at RWV on July 22, 2005 and it is a FAKE.  Red will be doing a front page post on it Monday.  Figured everyone would be busy tomorrow anyway.

They needed both Lee and Natalee in the photo so no one would think to question if it was real or not.  Who would insert TWO people.

So these photos could have been taken at any time at all.  Well, up until they were posted in July, 2005.  Taken and shopped during that period.  

Guess we hicks in Alabama were supposed to be shocked to see somebody dancing on a bar??   :D Say something to the effect that any girl who would do that deserved whatever happened to her?

Yesterday someone posted one of the photos at BFN which made me take a second look at the photo.  That's when we started to really take a close look.  I'm sure there are others that have noticed it and have never posted about it in forums though.  The think is it was so long ago and we never would have thought they'ld do something like that then.

This photo was labeled "Dutch Marine" in a few private photo accounts.  Maybe the picture was doctored so viewers would think the man-at-the-bar is very attracted to Natalee...

Klaas and CBB have just been fooling with that photo for the last couple of days.  I think it is pretty apparent and doesn't really need much more to authenticate the shopping.

A couple of us saw the little Joran head last night and Sleuth says it is a bartender crouched behind the bar getting something but sure looks like Joran to some of us.

What Sleuth says is much more logical but I see a resemblance to Joran there.  Maybe seeing things?

I know Joran was aware of the RWV site because he emailed Dan and said he was only a 17 yaers old kid and so could Dan please remove his, Joran's, photo from his site and Dan did remove another photo of Joran because he asked him to.  It was sort of like a school photo he wanted removed.

But my point is Joran was aware of and reading at RWV very early on.  If you go back through the last few pages, you will see how they determined it is shopped.  I think it is.

I'll tell you what I know, Cuz. Klaas noticed that Natalee looked awfully large in the "bar dance" photo. Her arm also just disappeared. I found the poster photo and felt that her hair had been erased out because had it remained laying on her body it would have defied gravity since she was bent over. Her hair was up at some point at C&Cs anyway. Erasing her hair made the top look like a graduated halter tie, instead of the actual triangle ending in string straps. The photo was made longer so they wouldn't have to show her face. The whole pic is full of holes. The whole pic is full of sh*t.

Lee's arm was incredibly long ( Klaas noticed it ). I noticed the back area that looked "imposed" and it clicked that they would have had to make her longer too. So I cut that out and joined Lee without it. It was a perfect match.

I don't think there is anything to prove that the guy sitting at the bar is a Dutch Marine.  I think that is pure BS that has been copied from one sit to another.

We were told one computer was taken from the VDS home before this photo appeared at RWV but that doesn't mean anything.

Just My Opinion, but I doubt that Joran did this. I don't think he would have hired the Alabama pic done if he could have done it himself. Most definately someone did it on his behalf.............he's the only one that would have benefitted from it. K2, as well.

Peter The reason he lied was because he was scared he would get into trouble because of leaving Natalee on the beach, and Jug Twitty was being particularly nasty. He does not sound like a nice man, even pushing women around!! Joran thought he was going to get punched and Paulus had to intervene at one point. He was a 17 year old boy, perhaps when he put two and two together he realised that Natalee was telling him that she did not want to go back at all. From the get go, Joran's girlfriend Melody was saying that Natalee was pregnant, and was speaking as though she knew this for definite. Then along comes the letters, apparently from Natalee, saying the same and that they contain her DNA as proof. If this turns out to be true, then there are going to be a lot of red faces, but I wonder how many people will have the guts to apologise? By the way, Joran never said it was the security guards, they were picked up because they were suspected of having articles that were not theirs.

Cat, the pictures of Lee make her look fairly tall and statuesque. She is not a petite girl like Natalee. In the group shot, Natalee and Ruth McVay are the smaller girls and almost the same size. The clips we have of Ruth show that she is smallish and thin.

Klaas, I'm on the run for a little while, but wanted to ask your opinion on that brown bottle. My opinion right now is that it was imposed to obscure the "fit" between Lee and the guy at the bar. The light reflection is wrong, even though it's shaped differently than the other bottles. I haven't looked really closely, but it just doesn't look right to me.

When we get all the pictures compared as well as we can, we should start a thread for them as a reference. I need a clean pic ( the highlighted corner is ok ) and now that we have a somewhat realistic size of the "Lee", I can correct some of my painting out and see how the photo originally lined up, I think.

I won't have time to work with photos today but I'll look tomorrow.  Could be.

Even it that was a real photo of Natalee bending down, it could be that the angle would obscure that white spot.  

I want to add here that I have no doubt that Natalee was indeed dancing on the stage right next to that bar area.  This photo that was posted at RWV in July 2005 was photoshopped though, I have no doubt about it.

Question: If the stage area near the bar was meant to be danced on, and lots of people were doing just that, what was the point in photoshopping the picture? Was it meant to look more like Natalee was literally dancing on a bar, so that we would think she was completely out of control?

I was trying to find one that had that brown bottle in it. I went to Reihl World but was unsuccessful. If anyone has the uncropped pic, I'd really appreciate it if you'd post it. TIA

In a nutshell, yes. I firmly believe that someone was trying hard to make the point that Natalee didn't "suddenly" become incoherent or drunk after Joran's arrival, but was descendingly drunk over time all night. If that point was important enough to go to this trouble, it's affirmation to me that Joran drugged her and she quickly succumbed to the effects of the drug.

IMO, that's just fine. That's a lovely color for the Mother of either bride or groom, and if both select it, no problem. The same dress would be a problem  :lol: but the color shouldn't matter at all. I'd be surprised if the color was an exact match anyway. Most of the time, there's either a slight pink, gray, or yellow hint to champaigne. That's my best advice, for whatever it's worth.  :wink:

Carpe,  That white spot looks like a flaw in the fabric to me and has always been annoying as it could easily have been sewn out of that top.  I, too, always look for it.


And I DO think Natalee was dancing on what I would call the Dance Stage, elevated dance platform but not on the bar per se.  I think the idea was to make us think she was dancing on the literal bar, solo, and not just on the elevated stage along with others.  That she was doing something exceptional and shocking.

Remember a fairly recent article I think in Aruba Today supposedly showing yet another shocking American girl dancing, wearing leopard print and odd looking shoes.  Also once a FP poster posted a link to a rowdy girl dancing and called her a Monkey, all examples of bad behavior on the part of American girls.  A pattern there.   :?

Aruban prejudice showing its ugly self.  Girls dance.  Most of them anyway.  The punishment for that is not being made to disappear from the face of the earth forever.  Why is nothing ever said about drunken, passed out Sporters and Pimps?  Only American girls are shocking?

Sexual expression is a normal and healthy part of adolescence for both males and females.  Perhaps if things were a little more open and healthy in Aruba, they would not produce so many predator types with drinking problems so early in life that evidently can't tell the truth about anything.

Nut44x4 - You probably don't want to hear this, because I know it's a big day for you and son - but really, nobody pays any attention to what the groom's mom(s) wear.

Nobody pays much attention to what the bride's mother wears either, if that makes you feel better! (Although I have seen one MOB wearing an outlandish full, wide-skirt ball gown, and it DID cause comment. The dress took up about 6 square feet of floor space.)

It's all about the bride ... and sometimes, how tacky the bridesmaids' dresses are!

I think as long as the two of you can manage to not wear the same dress (which probably would be noted, regardless of whom was wearing) you'll both be fine.

Besides, the groom's mom is supposed to wear beige or tan or some such.

In case everyone was busy deciphering the magnificent work of the monkeys and photoshopped picture....the above information (furnished by Carpe) is part of the reason our FBI and Department of State has said or done very little about this case.  Bigger fish to fry.

I was at a wedding in December of last year where the the bride's mother and groom's mother both wore champagne colored dresses.  The bride's mother's dress had an overlay near the neckline of a sheer material that gave the impression that the champagne color there was lighter.  The groom's mother had the same shade in her dress, also.  It was very pretty and looked fabulous in the wedding photos.  If the two of you agree, I see no reason this should be a problem.  I assume the dresses will be designed differently, of course.

I think both of you wearing similar color is a good thing, Nut.  Any color is acceptable other than white which is reserved for the Bride.  Black would possibly convey a less than happy thought but champagne should work well.  I like for the colors to coordinate which you two would do.

Last year for my son's wedding, I chose a shade the bride was using as a secondary color.  She had spring green and shades of pink and raspberry so I had a dark rose colored outfit that matched sashes on bridesmaids dresses.

Erma Bombeck always made me laugh saying the Groom's mother was supposed to wear beige and keep her mouth shut, lol.  That's sort of how it goes with the wedding it seems.  It's the Bride's Day after all.  If he's lucky the Groom will also get a bit of the spotlight but not much left for the mothers.   :D   I did wear a hat, however, and had I not left them home and it been so miserably hot, might have worn gloves as well.  But I just like to dress up.  Some don't enjoy it and keep it as simple as possible.

You can't go wrong with a neutral color like champaign.   :wink:   Can make corsage match secondary wedding colors, too.
